RSL ART UNION: Draw 358 is closing soon!

The RSL Art Union is back with a choice!

Either an apartment in Sydney, or a house on the Gold Coast WITH an extra $555,000 in gold bullion.

You know which one I’ll pick, Gold Coast, of course, and then I’ll sell it because of its utterly useless waste of space in every room. I really don’t understand the architects of these houses, and how they can waste so much space or design rooms that have no function, like putting a brick wall in the glass wall facing the pool in the master. Oi! And the master wardrobes/closets are never that good. Seriously, a girl wants a closet!!!!! The layout is all wrong and ridiculous, and you can’t get into the house from the garage. Not good RSL. Try asking a woman to design these houses for once.

As usual, fully furnished, heat and air conditioning, rates paid for for the first year etc, the Gold Coast also has a pool!.

Get your tickets at the RSL Art Union website today!

Updating My Social Media

I’ve been updating my social media this last month, culling all of the ones I no longer use, clearing up others, adding even more, and I thought I’d just let you all know what I now have and am across.

I decided to try and go for the pentagon of social media. Website/blog, Facebook , Instagram , Twitter and Pinterest.

However, in some names/businesses I also have Tumblr, G+ or YouTube   channel, so some have eight social media sites.  I may shut down G+ some time in the future as all I do is send blog posts through to it and am not active in any other way. I’m considering keeping the Youtube channels so I can change the names in the future instead of setting up a new one, but then, you never know how they’re going to change things. As for Tumblr, I have a lot of followers there so I may keep them.

I’ve shut down Photobucket and Skype , StumbleUpon  and Polyvore, plus Wattpad.

Facebook – has been under my name’s profile for a while, but it’s getting it’s own new page because  Facebook has now stopped third party apps from uploading to profiles. So head on over and like the page so I can change the username which FB is refusing to do.

MY STYLE: July Style 2018

I seemed to have worn a lot of black last month.

Not sure why, maybe it’s just because I hadn’t worn these tops since last year (I try and wear all of my tops before repeating, and since I only go out once a week, then I never wear the same one twice unless it’s on purpose), so it’s probably that reason, and because I try and wear all of my coloured tops first. I don’t like black anymore as it reflects off the double chin and dark circles, but I refuse to get rid of my good black clothing, so it rarely gets worn.

What I Did On My Second Writing Holiday For 2018

It was quite an interesting writing holiday.

First, there was no writing, sadly, just a tonne of editing to get paperback books done for release in September. Then there’s my recent addiction to One Direction, mainly due to editing the next instalment of Porn Stars ready for September and thinking how great the kids would be as a boy band and there was my addiction to 1D because I was hearing Niall Horan all the time on the radio and then that lead me back to 1D….So, here goes…

Saturday 7th – had a lie in, watched Niall Horan (former One Direction member and my current crush even though he’s actually young enough to be my son and why I didn’t crush on One Direction in the first place, because they were and are all too young. But puberty smashed into him real hard and made him as hot as fuck!) interviews on YouTube, started the updates for the paperback series Poems Of A Musical Flavour while listening to country music I used to line dance to. Yee Haw!

Sunday 8th, Monday 9th – as above, still doing Poems and trying not to get distracted by Niall. I’ve only recently gotten Zayn and Harry’s cds from the library. I’ve gone back to listening, in full, to Niall’s Flicker cd, and it’s damn good. I’m addicted. And he’s still as hot as fuck and so damn distracting…

I also changed my Facebook profile name to KingsAlliance, so if I haven’t managed to set up the Jewel Divas Style FB page yet, this blog will still redirect through there until I can change the name.

Tuesday 10th – finished perfecting #teenblogger and it’s finally done. I hope

Wednesday 11th – did stuff

Thursday 12th – shopping, library, usual, my sister came down. Trying to get over my Niall addiction.

Friday 13th – washing, dishes, faffed around online and did a couple of things, watched One Direction videos on YouTube

Saturday 14th – got down to editing Porn Stars, Carlos and Pedro during the day, watched One Direction at night

Sunday 15th – edited Porn Stars Tomas and Retribution, 1D as above

Monday 16th – started editing Porn Stars Forever, 1D as above

Tuesday 17th – continued editing Forever, 1D as above

Wednesday 18th – started editing Porn Stars Love Never Dies.

Thursday 19th – shopping, library, the usual. Did some social media work online in the evening.

Friday 20th – did the washing and dishes, finished editing Forever, my sister came around, watched One Direction at San Siro twice in a row.

Saturday 21st – tried to get extra stuff done, like these blog posts etc.

Sunday 22nd – edited all of the Porn Star books ready for paperback release in September, and made sure all of the Poems and #teenblogger book are ready for release and sending off to Ellen.

I have no idea why I’m crushing on Niall at the mo, it was Henry Cavill last writing holiday, clearly I’m desperately needy for something…like a man…lol, so who knows, with the way I’m going I might have a crush on someone completely different next writing holiday.

Jewel Divas Style turns 9 and is still here, but…

Yesterday was Jewel Divas Style’s 9th birthday. I’m posting today, because yesterday was a Sunday and today it’s back to work after having two weeks off for a writing holiday.

Two years ago I did a lengthy post, last year, I did a shorter one, this year, nothing has changed.

I still suffer from bad health and crippling physical issues, arthritis being a new one that cropped up last year.

I still have the burden of my mother’s care, I still have the burden of dealing with everything. Last year six companies wasted my time and energy, this year two more are wasting my time and energy and my freakin’ money. And what energy I do have left is reserved for anger, so look out.

My jewellery business is still on permanent hiatus at this point, and I’m not sure if it will get back up and running any time in the near future. I’d like it to, but I don’t see it while I have so much to write.

My writing has taken the driver’s seat, my jewellery the back, and it will stay there until the stories are purged from my brain and everything settles down enough for me to be able to schedule everything out. But while my brain is so full of shit I have to deal with, it won’t be.

I don’t know how much longer this will go on. I’d like to make it to ten years, to give the whole, ten year/10,000 hour thing a shot.

Two years ago I spoke about it and I’ve updated it for this year –

It all has to do with the 10,000 hours to success. Or in some people’s cases, it works out to about 10 years. If I don’t have success by the ten year limit, that’s it, I’m done. I’ll have given it all I had, but by then I doubt I’ll have any more.

In July 2006 I wrote my first novel. It’s now July 2018, twelve years since I started writing books. Time’s way up and long gone and still no success.

In February 2008 I wrote my second book, and in Aug I started the legal side of my jewellery business and made my first collection in Oct. We are 2018, it is ten years. Time’s up.

On Jan 1st 2009 I started my author blog, then this blog on July 22, and then went live with the first Jewel Divas store in Sep. In 2019 it will be ten years. There’s one year left.

Hence why December 31st 2019 maybe the last time I blog or even post on social media. Unless of course, I continue using every year I wrote a book, such as my fourth novel 2013/2023, my non-fictions 2014/2024, when I started writing children’s books 2015/2025, my novellas 2016/2026. Not sure I can keep blogging until 2026!!!!!

I had decided to give it three and a half more years till 2019 (now one more year) when I’ll be 45 and a half and it will be ten years for this blog. I said if I didn’t have success by then, then I’d give up. Or maybe wait until 2024 when I’m 50 and keep it at a nice round figure. I’ll definitely be done by 50. But that’s 5 more years.

I have exerted more energy in the last twelve years writing, making, and trying to run a business than I probably exerted in all my previous years.

I’m posting twice a week now and am considering cutting back to one day a week. It’s not fun anymore, and I’d like to get back to fun posts instead of what I bought or what I’m doing. It allows me time to write or make jewellery as well as keep across my other sites for maintenance and upkeep.

What I’ll do at the end of my ten years is not known yet. I’ll decide then, if I’m alive. In the meantime, I’ll stay on and try and make it more fun. For you and me.

Happy freakin’ birthday to me!

Half yearly catch-up on this year’s plans

Back on the 5th of February I posted about my yearly plans concerning my businesses, and you can read that here.

Now it’s time for an update.

It’s been a full year of work so far, and will only stay busy until the end as I churn through all of my books and get more done for their debut on my publishing label. I’m hoping to have most on the label by December so I can start the year of fresh with next to nothing to do, but, knowing me, I’ll just make up more stuff to do for myself.

So, here’s the list I wrote at the beginning of the year but a lot more is coloured in. I’m using the stoplight colour system below, green is for ‘done’, orange for ‘in the process of being done’, and red for ‘not done yet’.

(1) Under Tiara King I have these planned…

– 1.1 – Release the six book series, Poems Of A Musical Flavour, in paperback.

– 1.2 – The paperbacks have been mostly done and need tweaking, which will be done sometime in Feb or March. I had a time limit for March for the 6 pbs, but it might be pushed back to May.

– 1.3 – All will be released through Amazon and Ingram Sparks which I have joined as a publisher and they will be under my imprint.

– 1.4 – I will also release the omnibus e-book and make e-book #1 permafree in March.

– 1.5 – The omnibus pb will be released in September and I’m doing my own interior and having the cover done professionally. It will be 6×9 size and very thick.

UPDATE – just need final proofs to see how they go, decide which cover to use for the omnibus which actually turned out to be 7×10, two e-book boxed sets will be released in September along with the paperbacks, if not sooner! Not sure if #1 will be permafree.

– 2 – Update my two paperbacks, How To Be A Jewel Diva and Closet Confidential.

– 2.2 – I have decided to add style sheets to the pbs in 2018, which will also be given away for free as a download on my style website when people sign up to an email list once I get it done. I will re-release under my own imprint. Deadline is May, but I’m having trouble completing them due to MS Publisher claiming I have no disc space left when trying to add pages to the document. I do have space, and need to fix the problem so I can get it finished. If anyone knows how to fix the problem, let me know.

UPDATE – I’ve updated the interiors to both, made up the style files workbook for both books, will most likely be released in September. I just have to set up an email account for a newsletter.

– 3.1 – I still haven’t got #teenblogger to Ellen DeGeneres yet.

– 3.2 – It’s in the planning and I want to make it as professional as possible and tweak it in the next month or so. It’s important that I make it look good, and important that I try and get it out there even though it’s been two years since I released it.

UPDATE – teenblogger is nearly finished and I just have to approve final proof and then buy copies. I’ll have them sent to me, then wrap one up in a pretty box with some goodies that I bought, and send it off to Ellen.

– 4 – I want to get my jewellery back into its own website so we’ll see. Selling has been on hold for the last two years due to money, time and energy. I’m still looking for wordpress templates that would suit the type of website look I want, but with everything else going on, this won’t happen for some time.

UPDATE – not happening this year.

(2) Under T.K. Wrathbone I have these planned…

– 1.1 – Get three stories written up, typed up, edited and out along with an anthology. Thank God I have already done the e-covers.

– 1.2 – All four will be released in the second half of the year.

– 2.1 – Will get the paperback version of last year’s stories done professionally, and it will be out before this year’s new stories.

 – 2.2 – I am also updating the first two Bones pbs and will release them under my imprint during the year.

UPDATE – Bones #3 paperback is being done in July along with the #1 and #2 cover updates. I’m way behind on writing this year’s stories.

(3) Under L.J. Diva I have these planned…

– 1.1 – Put the next book, Love Never Dies through two more rounds of editing (one was done on the Australia Day long weekend on the 26/27th of Jan).

– 1.2 – Get the cover finished, and release it in March.

– 1.3 – Then comes the paperback interior and cover for release in September.

– 2.1 – I typed up the last couple of hundred pages of Stefan: The New Generation in January.

– 2.2 – I need to put it through 3-4 rounds of editing.

– 2.3 – Then send it off to my editor across three months because it’s so long it will cost a fortune.

– 2.4 – Then two more rounds of editing and get the cover done.

– 2.5 – Release it in September as an e-book.

– 2.6 – Then comes the paperback interior and cover.

– 3 – Release all four Porn Star Brothers novellas in paperback, along with the deluxe collector’s edition novel, and the novel Forever all in paperback. March is the deadline, but it could be April or May as I need proofs first.

– 4.1 – I want to type up next year’s novella which isn’t due for release until March 2019 so it gives me time to edit and add to it.

– 4.2 – I also want to try and get the last book in the series written up. That isn’t due until Sep 2019, but I like to be ahead of myself due to outlay costs so I know ahead of time where I can fit it all in.

– 5 – I’d like to try and get some of the short stories for the series written up. I can do the e-book covers myself and I’ve bought the pictures for them, so I will save money doing that. It will just be editing I’ll have to pay for. But who knows, they won’t be due until after the last novel, but I will release them weekly, so they will need to be all done.

– 6.1 – I also want to update my four standalone novels. I updated the interiors last year, changed them to a 6×9 format, and will have the covers re-done for them.

– 6.2 – Then re-release under my imprint in September, December by the latest. They are still available at Amazon in paperback, but, with the new format in 6×9, and with recent changes in CreateSpace, it means the prices can be lowered, so…

– 6.3 – I also have to re-evaluate my pricing strategy.

That means all but three of my books will be moved to my own imprint by the end of the year. The last three can stay under Amazon’s imprint until I remove them or update them. Dream It, Write It, Publish It has a deadline for updating of 2020. Which means, in 2019 I will need to massively update it for a mid-year re-release, hopefully.

UPDATE – Love Never Dies was released which is why it’s green. Stefan is being edited as we speak, so orange, all of the books are being proofed in paperback and will be released in September. Deluca, next year’s book, has been typed up and will be edited over the next writing holiday, and I still haven’t written the novel after that, but hopefully after editing Deluca I will.

Standalone novels have been updated and kept in 8×5 size, I just need new covers and new titles as they’re getting an overhaul.

I’d like to get all of my books over to my imprint by September in case teenblogger is on Ellen.

So far, that’s it for this list. I’ve also copyrighted my books and stories with the US Copyright agency, trademarked some things, dealt with other legal issues, and will now have to get my tax done. Yikes, still so much to do.

New Kikki K pens

Keeping with the Kikki K  theme, I managed to find these gorgeous pens on one of the Facebook pages I belong to. The lady was selling two sets, but then messaged me that she had three, so, I bought all three for $21 with shipping.

They belong to the set that I bought my planner and various bits and pieces from earlier in the year. You can check them out here.

They also go with the valentine’s planner I managed to track it down and you can see that here. It’s a unicorn, it’s out there, just very rare.

But the pens do go perfectly with it as well.

When I recently bought the holo planner from Kikki K, details on that here, I also bought these three blue pens to go with my Wellness planner that I posted about here. They go so perfectly.

Pens…what have you used lately?

Webster’s Pages Composition Folio and Planners

I’m a sucker for compendiums as you know, and in the last six months I’ve become a sucker for planners, and then I saw pictures of this composition folio, or compendium as I call it, and knew I had to have one.

As per Webster’s Pages, it comes in a gorgeous box,  covered with a vellum sheet with  hello in gold foil, and I bought it from Blitsy.com.

Navy and pink floral, it matches my mint and pink floral planner and travellers notebook that I showed the other day. It holds an average school sized writing book, and has room for more on the left side.

This is so gorgeous, I love it. Not sure if I’ll use it, as all collectors, we like to look and keep for prosperity, not use and end up regretting it.

And since I loved this so much, I decided to track down the matching planner and travellers notebook to go with the mint and pink floral ones I showed you all last week.

They came in their Webster’s boxes with vellum hello insert, and the planner came with a full years inserts with dividers and monthly sections. I didn’t get those with the mint planner, and I didn’t know this one came with them, so that’s a bonus.

Then the travellers notebook came with it’s plain covered notebook and I added the blue floral one that I had put in my green travellers notebook, and I bought an extra pink floral to go with it. The white notebook was a spare from other purchases.

As a set, they’re gorgeous and means they’re one up on my mint floral set. If only the mint came in a composition folio. Ugh, gorgeous.

Have you guys bought from Webster’s Pages lately?
