I didn’t wanna do it…
If we’re being honest… I didn’t want to design a longer Twirl Skort at first. My first sample was too long and just wasn’t working and I didn’t see a way to make it work. You’d been asking for this for years and I didn’t want to give up on you. So I kept going, and you know what? I’m really glad I did.

The challenge was finding the right length – not too long, but long enough to provide the coverage you need. Hopefully I got it right! And yes, this longer version has:

Sleepwear that doubles as going out wear?
Imagine this: A little house on the prairie. Highland cows. Silkie Chickens. The girlies are wearing cotton pajamas with empire waists and gathered busts. Can you see it?
This was my inspo to finally design the most romantic, whimsical sleepwear OF MY DREAMS.

Seriously, the bust took multiple samples to perfect because it was always too flat, too low, or too poofy. But now, I’m in love

There is none. They’ve not DM’d me back, no buyers have reached out, and same story with the other retailers. It’s really disappointing to see these Goliath’s taking zero responsibility for their actions, hoping this will all blow over, when the solution was so so simple. It’s like they all follow some antiquated corporate playbook that just tells them to wait it out and one day I’ll get tired. Well, that’s not happening.

The Trickle Down Effect of Celebrity Influence on Fashion Trends
The trickle down is trickling.
Once and for all, I want to tell you the story of the POPFLEX Pirouette Skort and what had to happen in order for me to be in the situation I am today, with dupes all over the internet and dupes being sold at multibillion dollar corporate giants such as Nordstrom, TJMaxx, Marshalls, JCPenney, and Kohl’s.
If you’re wondering how you can help me fight back, you can go to my IG and share my post! These companies want to ignore small business owners like me. To silence us. But enough is enough and its time to get LOUD about what they’re doing, which is stealing.

Sam and I rented a Slingshot for his bday! We’re trying to go on more mini adventures together while life is so crazy and its hard to get away on “real” adventures. It’s been so fun trying new things!

Yes, I’ve seen your comments and I’ve heard you loud and clear! Sorry it took a little while longer to launch the new POPFLEX Boxy Boyfriend Hoodie but it was my first time working with mineral wash and testing these new thumbholes and OMG I AM OBSESSED!!!

WARNING: DO NOT SIZE UPI already took that into account for you. Just get your normal size unless you want it to be shorter – then size down! Wanna see the colors? Like I said, the mineral wash was a learning curve but believe me when I say the wait was WORTH IT.
Also – as I post new content, please know that this is simply an intermission throughout this whole Nordstrom patent infringement dupe debacle. I’ve still not heard back from them and it’s giving they just want me to get tired and go away. BUT NO. I will not stop. Why? Because it’s not just about me. It’s about standing up against these corporations for all my fellow independent designers and small businesses who don’t have the platform that I have to speak up. I will never stop fighting until they apologize and do the right thing.

Have you ever heard of calendar synesthesia?
Hey guys!
How do you see your calendar? Here’s how I see mine…
Calendar Synesthesia
Basically, this means that I visualize time as a sequence in space. I don’t see the calendar how it looks on a planner or in my phone. Instead, it’s a track like the pic above. The months move counter-clockwise, with the summer months seeming much faster in my mind and the winter months longer.
Weird right? I’ve always seen the calendar this way! NEVER the boxes like what my Google calendar looks like.

Do you see your calendar this way?
I’ve only ever met one other human who sees their calendar NOT like how it looks on their phone or planner. Apparently calendar synesthesia affects 1% of the population so I’m making this vid to try to find my peeps! Where you at!? Why does this happen!? Was there some unique experience we’ve all had? Is it our personality? Is it our genetics!? And also WHY. Scientists still don’t know so I’m coming direct to the humans.
One of the largest retailers in America is trying to silence me
One of the largest corporations and retailers in America is not only selling a dupe of my patented Pirouette Skort design, but they also threatened to SUE ME for speaking up about it. Yeah. When I sent a cease and desist to stop selling the dupe, that’s the response I received from their legal team. On my birthday, btw.
Here’s the dupe, the “Tutu Skort” by a brand called Gottex.
I mean, they even had ZERO SHAME making the exact same color as my lilac Pirouette that went viral after Taylor Swift wore it. The other two color options are also exact copies of POPFLEX colors. Did they not think anyone would notice? Or do they just know they’re the big fish and bet on me doing nothing about it? Prob the latter.
Nordstrom is worth 4 billion dollars. They have 54,000 employees and 351 stores in the US. But they chose to infringe on my patent instead of oh…idk… WORK WITH ME?!
Fun fact: I was granted the patent for this skort (my very first design patent!) on my birthday last year! The application process takes a lot of time and effort, which is one reason why they are not always an option for small businesses. And as you can see, a patent doesn’t always deter a big corporation from stealing a design.
Sadly, my story is nothing new. Corporate America is full of twisted greed, where big corporations steal an independent designer’s creation and make money off of the product while the original designer goes unpaid. Instead, they pay their lawyers to gaslight and threaten to sue anyone who tries to fight back.
But nah.
That’s not how I do business.

Nordstrom and Gottex Studio are treating me like an annoying little insect they can squash at any moment with their big bully corporate dollars. Well guess what? Corporations are run on money from the consumer – YOUR HARD EARNED DOLLARS. Without your money, they have nothing. I can’t believe they don’t understand that??
WELL LET’S MAKE THEM UNDERSTAND.
I need your help to share this video and EXPOSE Nordstrom and Gottex Studio. It’s time we all stand up to the big corporations that walk all over small businesses like mine. This is happening too often to people who pour their souls into their creations but cannot afford the money, energy, and time it takes to fight back.
I tried to keep this classy and private but unfortunately their behavior left me with no choice but to make this a very public matter.
