Fall book signings in libraries, stores & bars

I had a friend ask me if I’d be going on a book tour to promote the October release of, “Growing Up in the Real Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.”
I told him my book tour never ends. It’s me going from my office on the third floor at the Tin Lizzy down to the first floor to sell six, pop into Flappers to sell three, and then returning to the third floor again and again.

Just one day later and I can’t remember how I found something I will now never forget.
Kinda sounds like a sentiment that ought to be on a floral anniversary card (Happy Day-Before 23rd Anniversary, VLR!).
But, no, this wasn’t about anniversaries, birthdays or other hallmarks of familial importance.
This is all about smiles!

When homesickness hits home

I still remember the departure like it was yesterday.
It was around this time in 1981. I was leaving for my freshman year at Ohio University. My parents were about to experience their first night as empty nesters.

My last ace book ... gone!

It’s probably so obvious they don’t even bother to mention it in Business 101, but no reasonable business plan involves giving the product away for free.
I’ve had successful business people ridicule me for giving away so many books for free. But if I had a bizzy-ness plan, I wouldn’t be a writer.
I’d be a bizzy-ness man.
So I give away a lot of books. Mostly “Use All

He’s one of the most unifying figures in the history of the Pittsburgh Pirates. He’s raised millions for unfortunates and, wow, the man has 3,000 hits.

Lovin' beach vacation; hatin' sunscreen

It took a 55-foot keelboat and two 35-foot supply boats for the 27-man Lewis and Clark expedition to in 1804 traverse the continent.
I figure if the attempt were made today they’d need a third boat just for sun screen.
After an otherwise splendid week on Chincoteague Island, Virginia, I can report that a day at the beach is no longer a day at the beach.
