Book review now up!
Hello, Write Edge readers! I’ve posted my latest book review for you. Today I share my thoughts on the thriller, None of This Is True by British author Lisa Jewell. Here’s the opening to my post:
Two women who share a birthday end up becoming entangled in one another’s lives. When the situation escalates, one of them realizes the chance encounter may not have been such a coincidence after all. Thriller author Lisa Jewell returns with a page-flipping book true to her genre in her newest novel None of This Is True.

And speaking of books, In the Heart of the Linden Wood has been longlisted in the 2023 Ozma Book Awards division of the Chanticleer International Book Awards! Check out the announcement here, and wish me luck on getting into the next round (and hopefully beyond!)
Have a great day, readers!

Winding down the summer…
Hello, Write Edge readers! We’re officially into August and the last full month of summer break. Can you all believe this season has flown by so fast?
There are still plenty of fun things to do in August, though, like go to the movies! I went this afternoon to see one of the big blockbusters of the summer, and it inspired me to write this week’s haiku. Check that out now on The Write Edge Writing Workshop!
This past Friday I shared the #bookreviewpreview of the novel I’m reviewing this week. Tomorrow sees the release of British thriller author Lisa Jewell’s newest book, None of This is True. Find out on Wednesday what I thought of it on The Write Edge Bookshelf!
Finally, on Friday, I go back to Instagram to share the latest pictures from my corner of the world in writing and non-writing things. If you’ve missed previous posts of mine on Instagram, just find me there with my handle, @EktaRGarg, or go to my Facebook author page and see them all there. Then come back at the end of the week to see the latest ones!
I hope you all have a fantastic week ahead. See you on Wednesday!

Back from vacation!
Hello, Write Edge readers! I’m back from my vacation. I’d intended to post on time this week, even while being away, but a couple of technical difficulties (like flight cancellations!) threw a wrench into everything that left our family scrambling to come up with an alternative plan. But overall, I had a lovely time!
You can see some of that lovely time on Instagram. Hop on over to the app and use my handle, @EktaRGarg, to check out some vacation photos as well as other bits and pieces from my corner of the writing/editing world. I’ve also posted July’s writer’s showcase. It should have gone up on Monday, but, well, you know. So you can find it now on The Write Edge Writing Workshop!
No book review this week because I ended up not finishing the book I thought I was going to review. But I’ll have a new one up next week for you. Keep an eye out for it!
Have a great weekend, readers. Stay safe and hydrated (or bundled up, if you’re in the Southern Hemisphere.)

Review now up!
Hello, Write Edge readers! Happy Wednesday! I have my latest review for you. Today I’m sharing my thoughts on Ghosted by Amanda Quain. Here’s the opening to my review:
A high school senior dealing with her father’s death is paired with a new student at school. As the two teens get closer, the senior learns how to live beyond the restrictions she’s set for herself. Author Amanda Quain adapts Jane Austen’s novel Northanger Abbey in the well-intentioned but ultimately lightweight novel Ghosted.

The last week of July!
Hello, Write Edge readers, and happy Monday. Brace yourselves — it’s the last week of July. Can you believe it? I feel like we were just settling into the longer days and loose routine, and now I’m staring at the school calendar and counting down in weeks, not months. This summer is flying!
Speaking of which, I’m doing some flying myself soon but I’m going to do everything I can to post from the road. First, this week’s writing. It’s the fourth Monday in a month of five of them, which means an extra haiku for you. Earlier today, I was feeling a little out of it. Find out how that translated to my newest attempt at poetry on The Write Edge Writing Workshop.
Last week in my #bookreviewpreview, I shared that I’m going to review Ghosted by Amanda Quain. Find out what I thought of this new YA novel on Wednesday on The Write Edge Bookshelf.
On Friday, it’s back to Instagram. I’ll even give you a peek into where I’m traveling. Hint: it’s on the bucket list for most writers! Check out previous posts with my handle, @EktaRGarg, or on my Facebook author page.
And I’m pleased to say that In the Heart of the Linden Wood has another great five-star review! Go now to the Online Book Club to see what their reviewer had to say about my original fairy tale for grownups. Once you’re done with that, go to my author website to get your own autographed copy!
Have a wonderful week, readers!

Second review up for today!
Hello again, Write Edge readers! Just a reminder that my second review is up for today. It’s for The Deep Sky, a sci-fi dystopian space murder mystery by Yume Kitasei. Here’s the opening to my review:
A space explorer discovers that someone connected to the one-way mission wants to sabotage it. As she investigates the other explorers on the spaceship, she fights her insecurity and memories of her estranged mother. Author Yume Kitasei employs an impressive amount of scientific knowledge without overwhelming readers while also offering a compelling plot in her debut, The Deep Sky.
Read it now on The Write Edge Bookshelf!

“We apologize for any inconvenience…”
Happy Wednesday, Write Edge readers! I got the title in a text message on Monday a little while before I was going to post and after the internet went dead. It was part of a longer note that informed me that my internet was currently out, and my service provider was letting me know and apologizing all at the same time.
We didn’t lose internet for too long, but it was long enough that I lost my dedicated time to finish writing and posting for the day. Thankfully, I’m back here for you today — yay!
It’s Wednesday, and to make up for my lack of posting I have not one but two book reviews for you. The first is part of the blog tour for the dystopian science fiction thriller One of the Boys by Jayne Cowie. You can read that review now on The Write Edge Bookshelf!
Later this evening, I’ll share my second review of the newly-released space dystopian novel The Deep Sky by Yume Kitasei. Keep an eye out for when that review goes up!
On Friday (assuming the internet universe continues to play nice :D,) I’ll be back with new posts on Instagram. In the meantime, have a great day, readers!
E.R.G.
P.S. Hug someone you love this week or call/email/text them to tell them you feel that way. Life is too short!
