Begging and Thanking

I think lots of us like me are really good at begging God for things for ourselves and for others. But I wonder is it possible that we may have a tendency to do lots more asking than we do thanking God?

Seems to me forever will not be enough to praise, thank, and bless the Lord for all He is, has done, is doing, and will do.

But if you are anything like I am, perhaps you need to work on doing more thanking and not just asking, asking, asking.

You may have to tell someone something difficult. You may need to confront someone. You may be called by God to help bring correction into someone’s life. When a friend confronted me regarding her sense that I was letting fear stop me from doing some things in my life, my immediate reaction in my heart was this. NO WAY! But how very wrong I was!

A Ridiculous Prayer Testimony

Totally ridiculous that I was reading a book on prayer but quite distracted because I was stressed out about a purchase I needed to make and my inability to do so thus far due to some safety-related issues. Ridiculous? Yes. Because it had not dawned on me to pray and trust the Lord Jesus Christ to lead me regarding the purchase. “What if I start Monday?” I told the Lord in my heart.

Note I did not really ask. I honestly told. Like I knew best. But I made it sound like a question. As though I was submitting to Him and His will for me.

The Man Without a Leg

I was moping. Discouraged. Down. Frustrated. Stressed. Crying out to God day and night for an answer regarding something to which I believe He had called me. No answer. No reply.
