Praying With Thanksgiving

Left to us, I believe many if not most of us would choose to thank the Lord Jesus Christ only IF and WHEN God answers our prayers AS WE DESIRE.

But the following Bible verses lead me to believe the Lord is making ultra clear that we are to THANK, PRAISE, AND BLESS THE LORD even before God answers our prayers and even when He answers our prayers differently than we would like.

God is deserving of our thanksgiving ALL THE TIME no matter how He responds to our praying.

Wait Until God Answers!

A really big mistake we can make is to pray to God for wisdom and direction on a certain matter and then move ahead with a decision and take action without waiting for God to answer.

Instead of continuing to pray and to seek the Lord and read the Bible and seek godly counsel from others as we wait for God to answer, we may go forward based on our wishes, ways, and wants rather than based on God’s will.

There is a right order to all this.

Pray. Seek God. Wait on God. When God answers, obey God!

When God Speaks in the Bathroom

Sometimes God speaks to His children in the bathroom while they are in the tub or shower or on the toilet. Why would He do this?

I believe so many of us tend to be so busy and distracted so much of the time that we do not always have our spiritual ears and hearts open to hearing from God.

In the confines of the bathroom, we are not so busy and distracted.

God’s Provision of LOVE

“Thank you God for your provision of love,” I told the Lord as I knelt briefly on my knees after a long and challenging day.

I was surprised by my words that poured from my heart. I had never prayed those words before. And I wonder how many of us have.

I believe we tend to think of God’s provision for us in terms of His endless physical blessings.

But His very greatest provision of all is of Himself, His love, and an everlasting relationship with Him!

I Hurt

Something is hurting in my heart. Ouch. I will not get into the hurt. But I will share the message that goes with it.

We can run to the world all we want. We can run to people for help and comfort and well we should when it is the will of God and when it is the people God chooses. People who will love and help us, encourage and pray for us. People who will point us to the Lord Jesus Christ and the Bible.

But the #1 person we should run to is Jesus Himself.

Stop Resisting Me

“Stop resisting me,” the Holy Spirit of God told me.

I strive daily to obey the Lord Jesus Christ, but at times I still resist the Lord before I humble myself and obey Him.

My heart’s cry is not only to obey the Lord. But to do so with zero resistance at all!

I desire to express my indescribable love for the Lord with total surrender and humble obedience to Him each and every day in every way!

Not Yet

I was thinking about doing something. In the midst of my thoughts, I heard the Holy Spirit speak to my heart.

“Not yet,” He said.

God did not tell me He did not want me to do it. He simply wanted me to wait for His timing!

Know what NOT YET means? It means DO NOT DO THIS RIGHT NOW!

Why would God want us to do something but not want us to do it immediately? Because as someone told me long ago, we only see part of the picture. God sees the whole picture.

I was ministering one day to a woman who was being beaten up by her significant other. She made clear she did not want help. She did not want to leave her abuser. She told me she loved her abuser. God’s Grace Is Amazing But –

How wonderfully and awesomely amazing is God’s grace. In His immeasurably marvelous lovingkindness, when we put our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and believe He died on the cross for us and was raised from the dead, God saves us from our sins and the sin penalty of hell and the lake of fire forever. By His grace through faith in Jesus, we are given a relationship with God on earth and forever in heaven!
