Sometimes despite being clear God wants us to leave a situation, a job, a relationship, a commitment, a volunteer job, a calling, a geographical location, a house, a roommate situation, certain circumstances, etc., we are afraid to leave.

“God, tell me what to do,” I prayed.

I was just about to do something but had a strong sense it might not be pleasing to God.

I have a long history even once I became a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ of acting impulsively based on my thoughts, feelings, my plans, what I felt was best, etc.

But I have learned the truth about believing in Jesus. We are not to merely believe in Him intellectually. We are to follow Him. We are to love and obey Him. We are to live for Him.

This Makes No Sense But –

This makes no sense, I thought concerning something I sensed God wanted me to do. Did you know we do not need to understand God and His will for us in order to live in obedience to Him? Jesus Christ is Lord, and we are simply to humbly obey Him with or without understanding. Turns out after I obeyed God that He revealed His purpose to me. “That is disgusting!” I thought. I was horrified!

The Holy Spirit of God showed me my heart. My thoughts about some people I had crossed paths with were arrogant, negative, prideful, judgmental, critical, self-righteous, and condemning. SIN, SIN, SIN!

I repented. I acknowledged my sin, got rid of the sinful thoughts, turned back to the Lord Jesus Christ, and with God’s love in my heart prayed for the people again as I had done in the past.
