Wait For God to Lead You!

The Holy Spirit of God spoke the words below to my heart. Always measure what you read and hear against the Bible because the Lord always and only speaks in line with His Word. And when you read or hear a message from someone else that is indeed biblical, you can pray to the Lord to see if that message is in fact for you!

Are You Trusting in Yourself?

God does not want us to believe in and trust in ourselves. He wants us to believe in and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Please consider your life. Think about how you are living day by day.

In all honesty, is your faith in yourself? Are you trusting in you? Are you trying to live by your own human strength?

Or are you truly surrendered to Jesus? Is your faith in Him? Are you putting your trust in Him moment by moment, step by step, breath by breath?

Why My Friend Prayed for JOY!

A beautiful friend in ministry who lovingly, graciously, and sacrificially takes time out of her extremely busy schedule to disciple me, i.e. to help me grow in my relationship with the Lord and to thrive in my ministry work, prayed her heart out for me one day when I was having an especially challenging time. Oh, how she prayed, prayed, and kept on praying. And, as I listened to her pray, over and again I heard her cry out to God for me that He would help me to have JOY in the midst of it all.

Is Your Suffering Your Fault?

Suffering can happen because life can be hard, because of tough circumstances, because of the consequences of a broken world, because of natural disasters, because of others’ sins, etc. But suffering can also result from our own sin.

Please be careful. Sometimes we point the finger at others and at life in general for our suffering when in fact we are suffering because of our sins and our refusal to live in obedience to God.

Craving Comfort

I believe we all crave comfort to one degree or another. But our greatest craving should not be for what makes us comfortable in life but should be for God and His will for our lives even when that means forsaking comfort.

The Lord Jesus Christ does not promise His followers a life of comfort. He tells us we are to DENY SELF, TAKE UP OUR CROSSES, and FOLLOW HIM.

We need to be willing to forsake anything the Lord leads us to sacrifice including comfort.

The Man Who Ran Up a Bridge

His sun-bronzed chest bare to the hot southern sunshine, his arms straight out with his hands in fists beating the air in front of him, the man ran steadily and steadfastly up the big incline of a bridge as though he were in a boxing ring fighting his opponent with all his might. I was driving over the bridge, and what I witnessed stayed with me even as I drove over the bridge and went on with my day.

Being Still Is NOT Enough

In this modern day in which the world is falling quickly apart, seems people are searching more than ever for any means whatsoever to get rid of stress and anxiety, to meditate and relax, to find ways to unwind, to quiet their minds, to calm down, to be still, etc. But simply being still whether physically and/or in our minds is NOT enough!
