Your Life Purpose – God Already Knows

I have been writing since I was a little girl. I was obsessed with writing as a child and felt I could never get enough paper nor keep up with all the writing that poured out of me. Little did I know God whom I did not believe in until many years later had given me a gift I would use enormously in the ministry work He would eventually call me into. God who knows everything about our lives even before we are born already knew all those decades ago what my life purpose He created me to fulfill. An...

Unthankful

Ever find yourself being negative, complaining, being discontent, whining, feeling sorry for yourself, being bitter, resentful and angry in response to your circumstances, jealous of others for having what you want, lashing out at God or turning your back to Him because of your struggles and trials, feeling upset with God for not giving you what you want and pray for and believe you deserve, etc.?

For starters, this is all sin we must get rid of. And on top of that, all of this is a sign of bei...

Distracted?

“I feel very distracted,” I thought to myself glumly. Dejectedly. Those are big vocabulary words I do not ever use. But I felt that way. Now of course God was going to step in and tell me what a wonderful job I was doing staying focused on Him and obeying Him as far as what He wanted me doing. Right? Wrong!

“You are very distracted,” the Holy Spirit of God spoke to my heart.

The bad news? The Lord saw how distracted and off track I was. Obviously. He sees and knows everything right down to our ...

Facing Battles and Enemies

When you read Psalms 42, 43, and 63 as the Holy Spirit of God led me to do, you will find the psalmists facing battles and enemies. But this is not the end of the story. It is but the beginning.

As you read through the three Psalms, you will discover the psalmists hungering for, thirsting for,  longing for, craving God – and praising Him!

We will have trials and tribulations, battles and enemies in this life. But when we believe Jesus died on the cross for us and was raised from the dead and c...

Amazing New Commandment

Are you familiar with the amazing “new commandment” in the Bible?

Jesus tells us to love each other. But that is not “new”, is it?

After all, the Lord tells us in the Bible Old Testament to love others as ourselves. And Jesus tells us multiple times in the New Testament to love one another.

So what is “new” then?

For the life of me I could not figure it out until God used a fellow believer in the Lord Jesus Christ to help me see the truth about this amazing “new commandment”.

Here is the ve...

When You Feel Hopeless

I have a pretty hard story filled with seemingly relentless challenges for decades so it is no surprise that countless times over the years and at times for very long seasons that felt they would never end I felt hopeless. But then something amazing happened.

I found a deep unfathomable permanent never-failing hope that nothing on this earth, no challenges, no circumstances, no battles, no storms, no trials and tribulations, not anything or anyone can take away from anyone who has this hope.

Th...

Be Kind to Them Anyway

I was walking through a parking lot on the most wonderfully beautiful sunshine-day when all of a sudden a cloud passed over – my heart. For a few moments I was saddened. And hurt. Again. Because of a lady who drove her car by me.

See, for months no matter how kind I tried to be to her, she returned my kindness with what felt like coldness, disgust, and hatred. Whenever I waved when she walked or drove by, she refused to wave back. Worse yet, she refused to even look at me. It was as though she ...

Need to Slow Down?

Many years ago my then husband when we were in the little kitchen one day of our tiny out-in-the-country cabin-like housing his job provided for us told me I needed to SLOW DOWN.

He was referring to my high-speed lifestyle. Later that day a police officer while I was driving turned on his uh-oh-I’m-in-trouble light and pulled me over. He graciously did not give me a speeding ticket. He kindly gave me a warning in writing to my recollection. I only remember two words. SLOW DOWN.

For a wide vari...

Intimacy and Psalm 23

If I counted accurately, 17 times in Psalm 23 the psalmist uses the words “my”, “I”, and “me”. There is a powerful significance in Psalm 23 to all these very personal references.

Intimacy. Intimacy with the Lord.

The Lord is not an unloving, uncaring, cold, distant God who sits way up high in heaven so He can be as far away and distant from us as possible.

For all who believe the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross and was raised from the dead and confess Him as Lord, turning our lives over ...

When God Says No

”No,” the Holy Spirit of God spoke to my heart regarding something.

Honestly I can’t even remember what it was. But I do remember this. I immediately submitted to the Lord. Simply put, I surrendered.

Unlike in the past. When countless times I acted like a small child in the grocery store with her mother at the checkout counter who starts throwing a temper tantrum when her mother refuses to buy her all the candy bars she wants and makes her put them back on the shelf where they belong.

Just lik...
