God Sees Your Eyes

God led me to a Bible verse I wrote down on a bright yellow index card I absolutely  love.

“My eyes are ever toward the LORD, For He shall pluck my feet out of the net.” Psalms 25:15 NKJV

Oh, how I want my eyes – and my heart – to ever be toward the Lord Jesus Christ!

There is another powerful – and convicting – Bible verse about the eyes.

A Wicked Way of the Devil

“[The devil] simply used an area of vulnerability to get to you,” the Holy Spirit of God spoke to my heart regarding how the devil was attacking, taunting, and tempting me.

God wanted me to see how the enemy was trying to get to me with his wickedness in his mission to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10) so I would be careful and not fall for this particular wicked way of the devil of going after an area of vulnerability of mine.

Seems the devil in his evil ways tries to go especially hard aft...

Anger Toward Anyone?

“Do you have any anger toward him?” the Holy Spirit asked me concerning someone who had hurt me terribly over a long course of time with no apology nor anyone holding him accountable which caused even greater hurt and made things even harder for me.

To be perfectly honest I truly believed I had no anger toward the person until the Lord stepped in and showed me my heart.

I felt the love of God toward the man, had been praying for him, always tried to be kind toward him, etc., but deep down inside...

So Hurt By Them

“Do you have any idea how much that hurts?” I said to the Lord.

I felt so down. And shocked. People had been coming to me telling me that apparently a bunch of people had spoken very poorly and derogatorily about me. People in a setting where I had gone all out for a very long time to show the love of God, to show compassion and extend care and kindness, to pray for, to stand up for when they were being taken advantage of and not being cared for and provided with the safety they deserved, etc.

God Told Me to Wait

I had a plan. Just a really little plan. I wanted to help someone with something. I had already asked if she wanted the help. She said yes. Now I figured was the best time to do what I had promised. So I got ready to go ahead. But God stopped me. He told me to wait. And this time, I listened. I heard Him.

When God Grows Us Through It

I was down on my knees having a conversation with God.

“I am growing you through this,” the Holy Spirit of God spoke to my heart.

I had been pouring out my heart to the Lord about how upset I was that He was bringing me through yet another battle and trial rather than giving me the break I had kept begging him for after decades of seemingly relentless storms and battles.

Go to the Word!

What should you do each and every day as part of believing in and following the Lord Jesus Christ? Go to the Word! To God’s Word! To His very amazing awesome wonderful Word! To the Bible! Go and dive deep! Read and live by the Bible!

Do not let anything in your life be more important than God, His Holy Spirit, His Word, and His ways and His will for your life!

Believe in the Lord! Believe His Word is TRUTH!

Be changed through His Word, grow through His Word, find hope in His Word, hear God throu...

Peace and Strength

You can search the world for peace and strength and you will never find the peace and strength you will find in the Lord Jesus Christ, in a personal intimate forever relationship with Him, in spending time alone in the presence of God, in praying and praising and worshiping the Lord, in singing to Him, in hearing and following Him, in living in obedience to Jesus, in living for Him, and in opening the Bible and diving deep within this indescribably amazing treasure God has given us in His Word.

Help Me Bridle My Tongue

“Help me bridle my tongue Lord,” I prayed one morning.

If you don’t think that prayer makes a lot of sense, consider this Bible verse.

“If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless.” James 1:26 NKJV

And consider this one.

“Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips.” Psalms 141:3 NKJV

Don’t Be Stopped By This

“You are to go today,” the Lord spoke to my heart in no uncertain terms regarding a particular place He wanted me to go. “Do not be stopped by your flesh.”

Truth was I did not want to go.

I did not allow my flesh to stop me. I went anyway. Because God told me to go.

Do not let your flesh, i.e. your own desires when they go against God’s will for you, stop you from obeying God.

We were not created to follow our flesh. We were not created to live for self.

We were created to believe in and follow ...
