Get Back to School Ready with these 11 Essential Oils

The newsletters are starting to arrive. They’re full of school supply lists, open house dates and ideas for helping our children get back to school ready.

It’s a bit bittersweet watching them accomplish goals and gain more knowledge, experiences and inches as each year goes by.

I regularly teach our children to pay attention to their own well-being. Making sure they get enough sleep, eat nutritious foods and remain active are the foundational blocks to maintaining their health. I also want t...

Master Mental Self-Care and Develop a Whole Mind Lifestyle with Think, Learn, Succeed

I hadn’t been to any conferences since our children were born, but the decision to attend was an easy one. My husband agreed to take care of all 3 little ones and we both prayed that our exclusively nursed baby would give me enough time to enjoy the speaker.

My dad had introduced me to her work years before. I was intrigued because there aren’t too many health or wellness professionals who can effortlessly explain the science and the scripture.

She didn’t disappoint.

Dr. Caroline Leaf stood...

How to Prevent Neglect from Leading to Disrepair

I picked up the bag and the straps fell apart, disintegrating in my hand. I was devastated.

The purse was only put away for a season, as I brought out my heavier canvased purse for the colder winter months.

Not once did I think about the material of the straps and their need for attention.

I thought I was giving it a longer life by putting it away, untouched for a while. But sadly, that wasn’t the case.

I got over it. It was only a purse, but the crumbling straps remain a reminder to me of t...

How to Create a Naptime Ritual with Essential Oils

Encouraging our children to rest, for whatever reason, can ignite a relentless rebellious energy.

You know what I mean.

All of a sudden they’re starving, need to use the bathroom or unleash a series of questions that even Google would struggle to keep up with.

I try to avoid mentioning sleep at all costs. But I know they need it.

So instead of bringing up the topic, I simply add a winning combination of essential oils to my diffuser.

I usually turn on music and the diffusers at the same time...

3 Simple Ways to Break Free From Life’s Busyness and Commotion

Just. Step. Away.

A seemingly simple action that requires steadfast intention.

We’re conditioned to be on – always.

To actively participate in every conversation, to show up for all the events, to respond to each notification and to continually be in the know.

This constant vigilance, however; is impractical, draining and, unchecked, can lead to a weariness that reaches the depths of your soul.

Rest is your birthright. Woven into your existence since the beginning of time. As essential as th...

Do This When You Need to Shift Your Mindset

Changing your mindset is as easy as making the decision to do so….

Until it isn’t.

There are times when you can shift your mindset cold turkey. But more often than not, we try to suppress or avoid certain thoughts and ideas. This approach not only slows down the process, but usually amplifies exactly what we’re trying to avoid.

The good news is, you’re in control of your mind and your thoughts and you can use them to set yourself up for your best life.

Each thought you allow to flow through...

Practice Being Transformed

Visual evidence of change is more recognizable than what’s unseen. So let’s compare mental health to physical health for renewed perspective and greater understanding.

When someone gains a significant amount of weight, it’s obvious. Their frame has changed shape and size.
When someone has a clogged artery that’s blocking the flow of blood necessary to sustain life, you can dissect the artery and visually see the plaque buildup.

When someone loses an extremity that was previously there, they...

Stress is Your Number One Enemy

Stress has been romanticized in our culture.

We’ve been told that it’s a necessary part of our existence and that stress is a motivator, helping us to accomplish our goals. We’ve heard this narrative for so long, that we’ve accepted it as a true story.

But this isn’t true.

Stress is pervasive, destructive and unlikely to ever offer you any benefit.

We’re not wired to function at our best when we’re faced with stress. Our wonderfully made body’s don’t even take the time to delineate between w...
