You’re Not Wired for Fear
I recently read an article by a well known writer that made me cringe. God gave us fear were her words. And yes, I re-read them several times in disbelief.
I believe her matter of fact sentiment aimed to provide women with a sense of peace and encouragement that fear is here because it’s just a part of who we are. Unfortunately, this is far from the truth and the impact of this particular message could be devastating.
The Bible says “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice...

Living in a Stressful World
One of the biggest challenges facing women today is stress.
We have no shortage of things to do, places to go, people to connect with and stuff to post, but we spend most of our time focused on doing things well instead of focusing on being well.
And our health is suffering because it.
So many of the country’s leading causes of death are fueled by chronic stress.
It’s frustrating. Especially because many of these problems are preventable.
Our health and well-being are less about work and mor...

Too Stressed for Self-Care?
The clock never stops moving, the list of things to do never stops growing and self-care is the farthest thing from your mind.
If you had just a little more time, then maybe. If your home magically cleaned itself, then maybe. If someone else did the cooking, the shopping, that mile high pile of laundry, then maybe.
You’re right.
There are a million things to do and the list is never-ending and some of these things must get done.
But do all of these things require all of your time and attenti...

You’re as Sick as Your Secrets
Secrets are wounds you’ve covered with a bandage. You hope they’ll go away on there own, but they don’t.
They wait there – open and aching, waiting for attention.
The longer you try to hide them, the greater the pain, deeper the wound and wider the infection becomes.
The sickness of those hidden secrets starts to move into other areas of your life causing aches and pains where there previously were no problems.
Those secrets keep you locked away, never fully present in the moment, blocking y...

Is Stress Your New Normal?
You thought pushing a little bit harder for a little while longer would make things better, but it didn’t.
And because you’re not a quitter, you decided to push some more.
It’s now become your new normal, and you’ve transitioned from a little bit of stress, to constant, unbelievable stress.
You’ve become really good at masking it, hiding it under the rug, turning your back on it, tap dancing on it when you think someone’s going to find you out.
Oh, but it’s there. Lurking and unwilling to le...

Natural disasters. Mass casualties. War against people and truth and love. Unnecessary and rampant evil is infecting our world and seems to expand with each passing day.

This type of stress can not be ignored. It’s subtle and destructive and can wreak havoc on your life.

When You’re Suffocating and Need a Way Out
I stood there for so long, my arms went numb. Four hours to be exact. And the numbness and tingling had become too much to bear. I had to move, to breathe, be set free.
The job was noble and someone had to do it, but I should have had the nerve to speak up sooner, to ask for a break, to say I’d had enough.
But I didn’t. I was suffocating in an effort to help someone else. Afraid of what others would say if I’d walked away.
Far too often, we put, and keep, ourselves in positions that we need...
