Excellent Find: Ikea Juice (Or Wine) Glasses
I have alotof glasses. Moroccan tea glasses, blue-dyed water jars, stemless wine glasses, mismatched floral teacups…even a crazy Mason Jar Wine Chalice complete with little beach souvenirs embedded in the stem (it’s true). I like trolling around home furnishings stores, yard sales and thrift stores for cool specimens, and over the years my glasses have become sort of a collection; I worry less about owning “full sets” than making sure that I love (and use) every single one.
But my absolute fav...

Daily InstaGlam
Just arrived: the shoes I’ll be wearing every single day while I’m in Florida. They’re Crocs, they’re like old-school jellies meets Rainbow Brite, and I LOVE THEM MADLY.

Shop-From-Home Snow Day
We spent yesterday stuck at home. Literally: we live on a fairly small side street that gets plowed approximately never, and there is no way my Outback was making it down the hill.
By the end of the day, Kendrick had shoveled us out…and then it snowed again last night.
That is a lot of snow.
I give up: it seems like a good day to orderAladdinon Netflix and window-shop on my computer.
Anything About This Photo Look Strange To You? …Anything?
Want to hear something super weird and possibly pregnancy-brain-y (it’s a real thing)?
When I went to the store a couple of weeks ago to assemble a Valentine’s Day present for my son (including these things), I also bought a be-ribboned wicker basket, shredded pastel basket-filler, and…eggs.
Because apparently something in my mind transformed Valentine’s Day and Easter into a single holiday, for which one purchases both red heart-shaped things and bunnies.
I don’t know what to say about this, ot...

Valentine’s Day Rice Krispie Treats
Because Kendrick loves Rice Krispie treats more than anything and spent a decent percentage of today shoveling snow out of our driveway, and because I am a huge nerd:
I made him a Valentine’s Day Rice Krispie Treat.
If, like me, you haven’t made these things in a couple of decades and need a refresher, here’s how you do it:
What You Need:
3 tbsp butter or margarine
4 cups mini marshmallows
6 cups Rice Krispies
Optional: food coloring and sprinkles
What You Do:
1. Melt butter in a large saucepan over l...
Obsessed With: HATCH Collection
You know, a big reason that I shied away from purchasing a ton of for-real maternity clothing last time I was pregnant was that I simply didn’t want to spend money on things that I’d only wear for a couple of months and then tuck away in a storage bin somewhere.
And so what I ended up mostly doing was making sure that the things I did buy were the kinds of flowy pieces (“maternity” or not) that I tend to wear anyway – things that would be looser on me post-pregnancy, but still be the kinds of...
Links & Love & Stuff
Last night we kicked off what’s looking like two days of being snowbound by watching cartoons in bed. “In bed” because I finally broke and installed a TV in our bedroom, and it is the BEST and I LOVE IT and am TOTALLY FINE with the fact that I am now officially a card-carrying Lazy Person who is too much of a sloth to climb a flight of stairs between watchingThe Bachelorand going to sleep.

The Second Time Around
OK, so being pregnant for the second time?
Nothinglike the first.
Not in my case (so far), at least.
I had heard this, of course – that every pregnancy, like every child, is its own entity entirely – but I still figured…you know, nine months of gestation during which the same basic events take place in accordance with the same basic timeframe sounds like it would be pretty consistent from person to person. Turns out that’s not so, and the ways in which our baby-to-be’s individuality has manifest...
