La Verdad te hará Libre

“Ya que han oído sobre Jesús y han conocido la verdad que procede de él, desháganse de su vieja naturaleza pecaminosa y de su antigua manera de vivir, que está corrompida por la sensualidad y el engaño. En cambio, dejen que el Espíritu les renueve los pensamientos y las actitudes. Pónganse la nueva naturaleza, creada para ser a la semejanza de Dios, quien es verdaderamente justo y santo. Así que dejen de decir mentiras. Digamos siempre la verdad a todos porque nosotros somos miembros de un mismo cuerpo”.  Efesios 4:21-25 (NTV)

El secreto del cambio personal no es la fuerza de voluntad. El secreto es conocer y enfrentar la verdad. Si quieres cambiar algo en tu vida, debes saber y enfrentar la verdad sobre ti mismo, tus relaciones y tu propia naturaleza.

¿Por qué es necesario aprender la verdad antes de que algo pueda cambiar en tu vida? Porque detrás de cada hábito auto-destructivo en tu vida, hay una mentira en la que crees. Si te endeudas, es porque creías algunas mentiras como “puedo gastar y después lo arreglo” o “siempre puedo pagarlo”. Tú podrías haber sobrestimado lo mucho que iba a hacer, o creer la mentira que necesitabas una casa mucho más grande.

¿Pero tú? ¿Estás seguro de que es la verdad? ¿Puedes probar que es la verdad? ¿Estás absolutamente seguro de que lo que crees que has dicho sobre tus finanzas es cierto? ¿Qué pasa con tus relaciones? ¿Qué pasa con las cosas que te dices a ti mismo? ¿Es la forma en que piensas acerca de tu pasado o acerca de algún evento, o es la verdad de lo que Dios dice al respecto?

La Biblia enseña que el cambio personal comienza con la verdad. ¡Es la verdad lo que te hace libre! El Apóstol Pablo dice: “ Ya que han oído sobre Jesús y han conocido la verdad que procede de él… ” Efesios 4:21 (NTV). ¿Quién es la verdad? La verdad es Jesús, y debido a que Jesús es la verdad, Él siempre te dirá la verdad. Su Palabra es la verdad. La Biblia es su Palabra, y eso significa que la Biblia es la verdad (2 Timoteo 3:16-17).

Lo que oyes en la televisión o lees en los libros no siempre te va a ayudar, porque no siempre es la verdad, ¿te has dado cuenta de esto? Pero lo que Dios te dice siempre va a ser la verdad. La Palabra de Dios te muestra cómo regresar a la vida para la cual fuiste creado para vivir, y luego te muestra cómo permanecer en el camino de Dios.

Por eso es tan importante que tengas todos los días, un tiempo a solas con Dios y Su Palabra, el cambio requiere aprender la verdad. Si tú construyes tu vida sobre una base de mentiras, conceptos erróneos, engaños o verdades a medias, nunca cambiarás. Pero cuando enfrentes la verdad y respondas a la verdad, comenzarás a ver cambios en tu vida. 

Reflexiona sobre esto:

Piensa en un comportamiento autodestructivo en tu vida. ¿Qué mentiras has creído que te llevaron a ese comportamiento?¿Cómo podrías cambiar tu rutina diaria, para que puedas pasar más tiempo en la Palabra de Dios todos los días?¿Por qué parece más fácil a veces seguir creyendo en las mentiras sobre nosotros mismos o sobre nuestras circunstancias en lugar de enfrentar la verdad?Si todavía no has confiado en Jesús y no te has comprometido a seguirlo, ¿por qué esperar más? Humility is Being Honest About Your Weaknesses

“We carry this precious Message around in the unadorned clay pots of our ordinary lives. That’s to prevent anyone from confusing God’s incomparable power with us.”

2 Corinthians 4:7 (MSG)

The person who faithfully endures the marathon of life is someone who has chosen to live with humility. But what does it mean to humble yourself?

It means being honest about your humanity. Be honest about your weaknesses, your limitations, and your imperfections.

I’ll let you in on a secret: Everybody already knows you’re not perfect! You can quit pretending like you’ve got it all together, because you don’t. In fact, nobody has it all together. We can all stop pretending like we don’t have faults or weaknesses.

Humility is not low self-esteem. It doesn’t mean you say you’re no good or that you’re a piece of junk. Jesus did not die for junk. He died for people who bear his image. That shows your great value! If you weren’t valuable, Jesus wouldn’t have died for you. 

Humility is not putting yourself down or denying your strengths. It’s being honest about your weaknesses.

All of us are a bundle of strengths and weaknesses. I have some great strengths, and I also have some great weaknesses—and so do you. Humility is just being honest about both.

Part of humility means being able to laugh at yourself. Did you know that “humor” and “humility” come from the same word? If you can laugh at yourself, it’s a good sign you have a healthy ego.

In The Message paraphrase of 2 Corinthian 4:7, the apostle Paul said, “We carry this precious Message around in the unadorned clay pots of our ordinary lives. That’s to prevent anyone from confusing God’s incomparable power with us” (MSG).

God puts his glory and power and life in us, even though we’re like common clay pots. Clay pots break easily. We know this because it’s obvious we’re all a little cracked. But we don’t have to hide those weaknesses. We can find humor and joy in the ways God made us all different and learn to let go of the small stuff.

When I was senior pastor at Saddleback Church, we used to tell the staff, “Take God seriously, but don’t take yourself seriously.” That’s the secret of stress management. It’s a lot less stressful when you can relax and admit your humanity and even laugh about it.

And it’s a lot less stressful to acknowledge your weaknesses so you can lean on God and other people for their strength and help to move past your imperfections.

Puedes estar Seguro de quién Eres

“Jesús se dirigió a la gente, y les dijo: Yo soy la luz del mundo. El que me sigue no andará en tinieblas, sino que tendrá la luz de la vida”.  Juan 8:12 (NVI)

Cuando Jesús dijo: “Yo soy la luz del mundo”, se estaba definiendo a sí mismo. Él estaba diciendo: “Yo sé quién soy”. Al menos 18 veces en la Biblia, Jesús dijo, “Yo soy” y luego dio una descripción. Se describió a sí mismo como la puerta, el pan de vida, el camino, la verdad, la resurrección y la vida. Una y otra vez se definió a sí mismo.

Jesús sabía quién era (y aún lo es) y, como resultado, Él nunca estaba bajo presión.

Este es el principio de la identidad. Mientras no estés seguro de tu identidad, vas a ser presionado para que encajes en los moldes de otras personas. Te manipularán, ellos tratarán de convertirte en lo que piensan que debes ser, en lugar de lo que Dios quiere que seas.

Una de las principales causas de estrés proviene de tratar de ser alguien que no eres. Cuando tienes miedo de que alguien vaya a descubrir lo que realmente eres y que no puedes ser capaz de mantener la fachada, esto te causa estrés.

La única manera en que puedes contrarrestar las presiones externas es tener un sentido interno de satisfacción sobre quién eres y para qué te hizo Dios. Descubrirás quién eres, cuando sepas de quién eres.

La Biblia dice que fuiste creado por Dios y eres profundamente amado por Él. Eres aceptado tal y como eres y Él tiene un plan para tu vida. Hasta que no resuelvas este problema de la identidad, serás inseguro y serás presionado por el estrés. No puedes servir a otras personas hasta que resuelvas este problema.

Jesús constantemente hacía cosas que sorprendían a todos los demás. Puso a los demás antes que a Él y les sirvió. A ninguno de los otros discípulos se le habría ocurrido que se lavaran los pies en el Cenáculo por su inseguridad. Pero Jesús siempre sirvió desde una posición firme. Él sabía quién era y a quien le pertenecía, así que no le importaba humillarse para servirles.

Servirle a alguien proviene de la autoestima. Hasta no superar tu inseguridad y sentirte bien contigo mismo, no tendrás ganas de ayudar a nadie más. Mantén tu seguridad en quién eres y a quien le perteneces, para poder servir eficazmente a los demás.

Don’t Waste Another Day on Guilt

“If we confess our sins, he will forgive our sins, because we can trust God to do what is right. He will cleanse us from all the wrongs we have done.”

1 John 1:9 (NCV)

When you feel guilty, it’s hard to think about anything else. You might try to push the thought away, but it just keeps popping back up! It’s like taking a dozen ping-pong balls and trying to keep them all submerged in a swimming pool. One of them is always going to pop back up, and it’s going to wear you out in the process.

Trying to manage your guilt is not how God wants you to spend your time. He wants you to experience the freedom and joy that come from a clear conscience. 

You need to get rid of your guilt but how do you do that?

The only way to let go of your wrongs is confession, which just means admitting your sin to God. You tell him, “God, you’re right, and I was wrong. I sinned. I messed up.” You don’t justify it or rationalize it or make excuses for it. You just admit it.

The word “confess” in Greek is the word homologeō, homo meaning “same” and logeō meaning “to speak.” To “speak the same” is to agree with God and to call sin what it is.

God has given us a wonderful promise in the Bible: “If we confess our sins, he will forgive our sins, because we can trust God to do what is right. He will cleanse us from all the wrongs we have done” (1 John 1:9 NCV).

Notice it says all the wrongs, not just some of them. God doesn’t say he’s going to hold on to a few of them for ammunition. He promises to forgive them all. He’s ready to wipe them out!

Have you been carrying a load of worries and wounds and wrongs in your life? Deal with them now. In your weakness, confess to God all your sin. He will give you the strength to get back up and start a new, healthy pattern in your life. He’ll help you let it go and stop the pain that’s kept you from God’s best for your life.

The poet Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could. This new day is too dear with its hopes and invitations to waste a moment on the yesterdays.”

Don’t waste another minute on the wrongs of yesterday. Today is a new day and a fresh start.

Todo Cristiano es un Ministro

“Ustedes también son como piedras vivas que Dios utiliza para construir un templo espiritual”.  1 Pedro 2:5a (PDT)

Dios dice que eres un sacerdote. Dependiendo de tus antecedentes, eso puede ser aterrador o confuso. Pedro dice que los dos beneficios que tienen los sacerdotes están disponibles para todos los creyentes.

En el antiguo testamento, los sacerdotes hacían dos cosas:

Tenían el privilegio, derecho y responsabilidad de ir directamente a Dios. Ellos podían orar y hablar con Dios, adorar y tener compañerismo con Dios. Todos los demás tenían que acudir al sacerdote.El sacerdote tenía el privilegio y responsabilidad de representar las personas ante Dios y ministrar las necesidades de otras personas (servicio).

Esas dos cosas se vuelven realidad cuando te conviertes en un creyente.

Ahora tienes acceso directo a Dios. No tienes que orar a través de nadie más. No tienes que confesarte ante Dios a través de nadie más. No tienes que tener compañerismo con Dios a través de nadie más. Puedes leer la Biblia, hablar con Dios, y tener compañerismo directamente con Él.

La Biblia dice que cuando Jesús murió en la cruz, había un velo en el tempo que separaba lo Santo de lo Sagrado, separaba donde estaba el Espíritu de Dios de donde estaba el hombre. Solo el sumo sacerdote podía ir detrás del velo una vez al año. Cuando Jesús murió en la cruz, Dios rompió ese velo —aproximadamente 21 metros— de arriba hasta abajo, simbolizando que ya no había ninguna barrera.

También tienes el don del ministerio para servir a otras personas. Cada cristiano es un ministro —no un pastor, sino un ministro. Cada vez que usas tus talentos y dones para ayudar a otros, estás ministrando.

“Pues Dios nos salvó y nos llamó para vivir una vida santa. No lo hizo porque lo mereciéramos, sino porque ese era su plan desde antes del comienzo del tiempo” 2 Timoteo 1:9a (NTV). ¿Por qué te salvó Dios? Para que pudieras servirle. Un cristiano que no sirve es una contradicción.

¿Cómo saber cuál es tu ministerio? Mira tus talentos, dones y habilidades. Cuando usas esos talentos y dones para ayudar a otras personas, a eso se le llama ministerio —Nada lujoso o aterrador. Sólo es ayudar a otros. ¿Puedes ser un ministro en el departamento de ventas?  ¿Puedes ser un ministro como contador? Por supuesto. ¿Conduciendo un camión? Seguro. Cada vez que estás ayudando a otras personas en el nombre de Dios, estás ministrando.

¿Cuáles son tus dones y habilidades espirituales? ¿Cómo estás usándolos para servir a Dios y a otras personas?¿Con cuál actitud crees que Dios quiere que sirvas? ¿Por qué?¿Cómo aprovechas al máximo tu estatus como ministro? ¿Sacas ventaja de tu acceso directo a Dios?Si todavía no has confiado en Jesús y no te has comprometido a seguirlo, ¿por qué esperar más? Confession Leads to Connection

“Your wrongs have separated you from your God, and your sins have made him hide his face so that he doesn’t hear you.”

Isaiah 59:2 (GW)

Nothing makes us feel more miserable than hidden guilt. When we’re holding on to our mistakes, we’re always worried somebody’s going to find out, and that leaves us nervous and stressed and unhappy. You cannot be happy and guilty at the same time!

And so, we mask it. We try to push it down and cover it up. We get involved in activities or work or relationships and keep busy so we don’t have to think about what we did wrong. 

Whatever things you’ve done wrong—your sins, your regrets, your failures—you don’t have to drag that pile of guilt behind you into another day. You can drop it and come clean to God about your sin.

Why is it important to come clean? Because guilt disconnects you from God.

Do you ever feel distant, detached, or disconnected from God? Do you ever feel like your prayers are just bouncing off the ceiling and it seems like God is a million miles away?

God didn’t move. You did. 

Isaiah 59:2 says, “Your wrongs have separated you from your God, and your sins have made him hide his face so that he doesn’t hear you” (GW). When you have a bunch of guilty garbage piled up between you and God, you can’t see over it to connect with him. It separates you from God.

How often do you take out the garbage in your house? Once a year? I hope not! If you did, your house would stink. Most people take the garbage out at least every few days, if not every day.

It’s time to learn to keep short accounts with God. At the end of every day, you have to ask God, “What’s the garbage between you and me? What’s keeping me from knowing you and serving you and loving you and others well?” Then, get rid of it. Confess it to God, and let it go.

You don’t want to carry guilt that weighs you down for one more day. Bring it into the light and let God cover it with his grace.

Talk It Over

How often do you confess your sin?
What do you think God wants you to do with your guilt after you’ve confessed your sin?
How does the Holy Spirit reveal what’s blocking your connection with God? If you’re not sure, read Romans 8:26 to see what the Bible has to say.

There is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.

The Bible says in John 3:18, “Those who believe in the Son are not judged” (GNT). Romans 8:1 says it like this: “There is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus” (NLT).

No matter what you’ve done or where you’ve been, you’ve got a place in God’s forever family ready and waiting for you. The invitation is wide open. Just believe and receive.

How do you do that? Trust in God’s character and the grace he extends. Confess your sins and ask God to forgive you. Claim the promise of Jesus, that salvation is free and open to anyone who turns from their sins and agrees to follow him as their Lord and Savior. Humbly ask God to accept you into his forever family.

Are you ready? Then start your journey by praying this simple prayer: “Dear God, I know when I die, I’m going to give an account of my life to you. I know I have sinned against you, and I have lived by my plan, not yours. I want that to change, starting right now. I want to turn away from my sins and toward you.

“Thank you for sending Jesus to die for all that I’ve done wrong so that I don’t have to pay the penalty. I know I don’t deserve your forgiveness. I know only your grace can save me, Lord. I could never be good enough to get into a perfect place.

“Jesus, thank you for loving me so much that you took all my guilt on yourself. You made me acceptable for heaven, and I humbly ask you to save me. I believe in you, Jesus. And I believe you will keep your promise to save me instantly, certainly, completely, and eternally. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”

Cómo la Cruz demuestra tu Valor

“Acérquense al Señor Jesús, quien es la piedra viva, rechazada por los hombres, pero elegida y de mucho valor ante Dios”. 1 Pedro 2:4 (PDT)

Dios dice que no sólo eres aceptado; dice que también eres valioso.

¿Cuánto crees que vales? No estoy hablando de tu patrimonio neto; estoy hablando de tu autoestima. Nunca confundas tus posesiones con tu valor como persona. Ser rico o pobre no tiene nada que ver con tu valor como persona.

Dos cosas determinan el valor en la vida:

El valor es lo que alguien está dispuesto a pagar por algo.El valor depende de quién haya sido el dueño de algo en el pasado.

Basándote en estas dos cosas, ¿cuál es tu valor? La Biblia dice: “Ustedes fueron comprados por un precio; no se vuelvan esclavos de nadie” 1 Corintios 7:23 (NVI).

Tú perteneces a Dios, y Jesús pagó con Su vida. La Cruz prueba tu valor.

¡Nadie ha pagado nunca un precio mayor que el que Dios pagó por ti! Eres aceptado y valioso.

Pedro utiliza como ejemplo un proyecto de construcción para ilustrar nuestro valor. Dios está construyendo este edificio de piedra que representa a la Iglesia, la familia de Dios, y tú eres una de las piedras. “Acérquense al Señor Jesús, quien es la piedra viva, rechazada por los hombres, pero elegida y de mucho valor ante Dios” 1 Pedro 2:4 (PDT).

Jesús es la piedra viva. Era perfecto, pero algunas personas todavía lo rechazaban. Algunos de ustedes pueden pensar: “Si pudiera ser perfecto, entonces sería aceptado”. ¡No! Jesús fue perfecto, pero ni siquiera Él fue aceptado por todos. Pero fue elegido por Dios valiosamente.

Dios está construyendo su iglesia, pero no se encuentra en los templos o edificios de la iglesia. Dios vive en las personas, y tú eres su casa espiritual. Pedro dice que eres una piedra viva. Cuando das tu vida a Cristo, te conviertes en una parte del gran plan de Dios.

¿De qué manera la comprensión del valor de un cristiano a los ojos de Dios cambia la forma en que te tratas a ti mismo y a otros creyentes?¿Cuál es la evidencia en tu vida que ha captado la libertad que viene de ser rescatado por Jesucristo?Una vez que dejas de tratar de ganar la aprobación de Dios o de cualquier otra persona, ¿cómo puedes gastar esa energía compartiendo este mensaje de aceptación de Dios con otros?Si todavía no has confiado en Jesús y no te has comprometido a seguirlo, ¿por qué esperar más? How to Leave Resentment Behind

“Let go of anger, and leave rage behind. Do not be preoccupied. It only leads to evil."

Psalm 37:8 (GW)

There are a lot of things that wound us. Maybe you were wounded when somebody lied to you or broke a promise or rejected you. Maybe you’ve experienced betrayal or misunderstanding or disappointment or loneliness.

David said in Psalm 109:22, “My heart is wounded within me” (NIV). Emotional wounds are often more painful than physical wounds, and they often take longer to heal. It’s hard for us to let go of an emotional hurt.

For example, you don’t remember most of the physical cuts and scrapes and bruises that you got on the playground as a kid. But I bet you remember the cutting words that left emotional bruises from bullies or neighbors or even parents. You still remember them, and they still affect you.

We remember emotional wounds a lot longer because we rehearse them in our minds. We think about the hurt over and over and over again.

But your past is past. The people who hurt you in the past can no longer hurt you unless you choose to let them. Every time you rehearse a wound in your mind, you’re allowing somebody in your past to control your present.

Holding on to a hurt is called resentment. Resentment means “to cut again.” Every time you resent something, you cut yourself again. You reopen the wound. You re-administer the pain.

But you have a choice. Your past can’t hurt you anymore if you let it go.

Psalm 37:8 says, “Let go of anger, and leave rage behind. Do not be preoccupied. It only leads to evil” (GW).

You can’t get on with your life and the purpose God has for you if you’re still living in the past and holding on to those hurts. Bitterness and resentment are like driving a car while looking in the rearview mirror. You’re going to crash! You cannot relate to the future if you’re always resenting the past.

You’ve got to let your past hurts go. Those thoughts of how you were hurt will try to creep in again. When they do, choose to think about something different. Focus on the future. Think about God’s love and forgiveness and care for you.

It’s time to leave your resentment behind and start walking forward into God’s good plan for your life.

Tú ya tienes la Aceptación de Dios

“Pero ustedes son linaje escogido, real sacerdocio, nación santa, pueblo que pertenece a Dios, para que proclamen las obras maravillosas de aquel que los llamó de las tinieblas a su luz admirable”. 1 Pedro 2:9 (NVI)

La mayoría de nosotros pasamos nuestras vidas enteras intentando ganar aceptación. Queremos tener la aceptación de nuestros padres, compañeros, socios, personas que respetamos, y aún de las personas que envidiamos. El deseo de ser aceptados nos conduce a todo tipo de cosas. Puede ser influenciar el tipo de ropa que vestimos, el tipo de auto que manejamos, el tipo de casa que compramos, incluso la carrera que elegimos.

¿Estarías de acuerdo que las personas hacen las cosas más locas por ser aceptadas? Cuando eras niño querías tanto pertenecer a un grupo, que si alguien te decía: “Te reto a hacer esto”, y era algo estúpido. Lo hiciste porque el deseo de ser aceptado era más grande que el deseo de tu seguridad personal en tu vida. Cuando eras niño y jugabas fútbol, había un momento que se elegían los equipos, ¿recuerdas que bien se sentía ser elegido de primero? ¿Recuerdas lo mal que se sentía cuando te ignoraban y quedaban dos o tres y no te elegían?

Nos gusta sentirnos aceptados.

Ser elegido hace algo tremendo para tu autoestima. La Biblia dice en 1 Pedro 2:9 “Ustedes son linaje escogido” (NVI). ¡Eso debería elevar tu autoestima! Cristo te ha aceptado —no por tu desempeño, ni como algo que ganaste o algo que merezcas. Dios simplemente dijo: “Yo te elijo”.

Tal vez ya aceptaste a Jesús en tu vida, pero ¿te has dado cuenta de que Cristo te ha aceptado? No tienes que ganártelo; no tienes que probarte a ti mismo.

“Aunque mi padre y mi madre me abandonen, el Señor me recibirá en sus brazos” Salmos 27:10 (NVI). El hecho es, algunos de ustedes tienen padres a los cuales nunca los complacen. No importa lo que hagas, nunca es suficiente. Si sacabas 7, ellos querían 8, si sacabas 8 ellos querían 9, si sacabas 9 ellos querían 10.

La tragedia es que algunos de ustedes están intentando todavía probarse a sí mismos ante sus padres. Todavía quieres ganar su aceptación, pero de todas las posibilidades, no vas a obtener su aprobación si todavía no te la han dado hasta ahora, porque ese es su problema. La buena noticia es esta: ¡No la necesitas para ser feliz!, Hay 6 billones de personas en el mundo. Si no le agradas a dos personas, ¿A quién le importa? Como parte de la familia de Dios, ¡Has sido aceptado por Dios!

Reflexiona sobre esto:

¿En qué basas tu autoestima?¿Cómo te afecta físicamente el deseo de ser aceptado por otros? ¿Emocional o espiritualmente?¿Cómo sabes que has sido aceptado por Dios, tal como eres?Si todavía no has confiado en Jesús y no te has comprometido a seguirlo, ¿por qué esperar más? The Only Way to Release Your Worry

“Let go of your concerns! Then you will know that I am God. I rule the nations. I rule the earth.”

Psalm 46:10 (GW)

Have you ever been so worried that you felt like you physically weighed more because of the emotional weight you were carrying?

Worry is emotional weight that hinders your progress to spiritual maturity. The Bible says in Proverbs 12:25, “Worry weighs a person down” (NLT). It starts to make you feel heavy, pressed down, and depressed.

God doesn’t want you walking through life like that. He doesn’t want you loaded down with burdens and cares and fears and anxieties. He wants you to release those things.

Psalm 46:10 says, “Let go of your concerns! Then you will know that I am God. I rule the nations. I rule the earth” (GW). 

When you worry, you’re “playing God.” You’re acting as if God isn’t in control and doesn’t care about you. You’re trying to take matters into your own hands.

Instead, God wants you to relax and just let him be God. He can take care of the things in your life that have weighed you down for so long.

You know all those things that you worried about last year that didn’t happen? You need to stop worrying about them now. You need to let them go. 

How do you let go of your worries? You don’t get rid of worry through fads, diets, pills, seminars, or even therapy—though some of those things can be helpful in our lives. There is only one way to get rid of worry: by praying about it.

You can worry, or you can pray. You’re going to do one or the other throughout your life. The more you worry, the less you’re going to pray. The more you pray, the less you’re going to worry. Prayer is the way you release your worries and heavy burdens.

“Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness . . . will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life” (Philippians 4:6-7 MSG).

Talk It Over

What are the worries that you feel weighed down by today?
What do you need to say to God about your worries?
When you let go of your worries, what does it leave space for in your life?

God wants you in his family.

God made you to love you, and one of the places you see that most clearly is on the cross. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, God made it possible for you to become part of his family for eternity. No matter what you’ve done or where you’ve been, you’ve got a place in God’s forever family ready and waiting for you. The invitation is wide open. Just believe and receive.

Are you ready? Here is a prayer you can start with: “Dear God, I know when I die, I’m going to give an account of my life to you. I know I have sinned against you, and I have lived by my plan, not yours. I want that to change, starting right now. I want to turn away from my sins and toward you.

"Thank you for sending Jesus to die for everything I’ve done wrong so I don’t have to pay the penalty. I know I don’t deserve your forgiveness. I know only your grace can save me.

Jesus, thank you making me acceptable for heaven, and I humbly ask you to save me. I believe in you, Jesus, and accept you as my Lord and Savior. And I believe you will keep your promise to save me instantly, certainly, completely, and eternally. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”
