.fb-background-color { background: #ffffff !important; } .fb_iframe_widget_fluid_desktop iframe { width: 100% !important; }The post El Amor es una Acción appeared first on Pastor Rick's Daily Hope.
Love Drives Out Fear

“When people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.”
1 John 3:8 (NLT)
Jesus defeated death, and that means he also defeated Satan. That’s why he came to earth. The Bible says, “The Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8 NLT).
What is the devil’s work? He messes with your mind. He fills it with worry, guilt, resentment, anger, fear, and confusion. He whispers in your ear that you’re worthless, helpless, hopeless, and aimless.
Satan uses these thoughts and emotions to keep you enslaved.
The biggest tool Satan uses to mess with your life is fear. The Bible clearly says that fear doesn’t come from God: “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear” (1 John 4:18 NIV). The Bible also says, “God is love” (1 John 4:16 NIV). So when you’re afraid, that’s not from God—because there is no fear in love, and God is love.
As a pastor, I’ve learned the number one thing most people fear is death. Satan will use that fear to manipulate you.
But Jesus defeated death; he destroyed the devil’s work. And so, when you as a believer grieve a death, you grieve with hope.
You grieve because you miss those you’ve lost. You grieve, but you know that if they believed in Jesus, you will see them again in heaven. They are waiting there in the place we were all designed to go in the first place.
In Hebrews 2:14-15, the Bible says, “Since all of these sons and daughters have flesh and blood, Jesus took on flesh and blood to be like them. He did this so that by dying he would destroy the one who had power over death (that is, the devil). In this way he would free those who were slaves all their lives because they were afraid of dying” (GW).
So whenever you feel fear creeping into your heart—whether it’s the fear of death or something else—remember it isn’t from God. Then ask him to drive out that fear with his perfect love.

1 John 3:8 says, “The Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8 NLT). What does this verse mean to you?
What are your most common fears? As you name them, remember that none of those fears are from God.
How can you fill your life with more of God’s perfect love so that there is no room for fear?
Are you certain of where you will go when you die?
Many people fear death—partly because they don’t know where they’ll go when they die. But Jesus came to save you from that fear of death.
The Bible says that every one of us sins and that the penalty of sin is death. But God loves you so much that he sent his Son, Jesus, to pay the penalty for your sins, to bring you into the family of God, and to save you from the fear of death.
If you’re ready to enter God’s family, here’s a prayer you can pray: “Dear God, I know when I die I’m going to give an account of my life to you directly. I confess I have ignored you. I know I have sinned against you, and I have lived by my plan, not yours. I want that to change, starting right now. I want to turn away from my sins and turn toward you.
“Thank you for sending Jesus to die for all I’ve done wrong so that I don’t have to pay the penalty. I know I don’t deserve your forgiveness. I know only your grace can save me, Lord.
“Jesus, thank you for loving me so much that you took all my guilt on yourself. You made me acceptable for heaven, and I humbly ask you to save me. I ask you to save me from my sins and from my fear of death. I believe in you, Jesus. And I believe that you will keep your promise to save me instantly, certainly, completely, and eternally. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
If you prayed the prayer above, please write and tell me at Rick@PastorRick.com. I’d like to send you some materials as you begin your journey with Jesus.

.fb-background-color { background: #ffffff !important; } .fb_iframe_widget_fluid_desktop iframe { width: 100% !important; }The post El Amor es una Opción appeared first on Pastor Rick's Daily Hope.
Why Should I Trust God with My Pain?

“I am suffering here in prison. But I am not ashamed of it, for I know the one in whom I trust, and I am sure that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until the day of his return.”
2 Timothy 1:12 (NLT)
When you’ve got something that’s precious to you, whether it’s rare, expensive, or an heirloom, and you don’t want it to be stolen, broken, or burned up, you might take it to the bank and entrust it to the protection of a safety deposit box.
But whatever you entrust to God is safer than the most secure bank vault. He will take care of it—you can count on it. He has a perfect track record. Other people may not have a consistent track record of taking care of things for you. But whatever you entrust to God, he will take care of.
So what do you need to entrust to God today? I’ll tell you what it is—it’s whatever you’re worrying about. Whatever’s keeping you up at night, you need to entrust it to the safety deposit box of God’s love.
Worry is practical atheism because it’s acting like you don’t have a Father in heaven who loves you and who can be trusted; it’s like you’re a spiritual orphan. Worry is unbelief; it’s saying you don’t believe the thousands of promises God made in the Bible.
For most people, it’s not easy to place things in God’s safety deposit box when they’re in pain. It’s hard to trust anyone when you’re suffering, even God. You just want to pull back and hold on to it yourself.
Paul knew this, but he also knew that when you’re in pain, that’s when you need to trust God the most. He said, “I am suffering here in prison. But I am not ashamed of it, for I know the one in whom I trust, and I am sure that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until the day of his return” (2 Timothy 1:12 NLT).
I talk to people sometimes who say, “I’m not sure I want to give my life to Jesus Christ because I’m afraid I won’t be able to keep the commitment.”
Let me be honest with you: You can’t keep your commitment. You will mess up! Thankfully, your salvation doesn’t depend on your ability to keep the commitment. It’s based on Christ keeping his promise and taking care of what you’ve committed to him.

.fb-background-color { background: #ffffff !important; } .fb_iframe_widget_fluid_desktop iframe { width: 100% !important; }The post Amamos porque Dios nos Ama appeared first on Pastor Rick's Daily Hope.
How to Express Faith in Jesus

“God says he will accept and acquit us—declare us ‘not guilty’—if we trust Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this same way, by coming to Christ, no matter who we are or what we have been like.”
Romans 3:22 (TLB)
The Bible says, “This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, ‘It is through faith that a righteous person has life’” (Romans 1:17 NLT).
God’s Word also says, “It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV).
The Good News is that the death and resurrection of Jesus give us access to God. In other words, we can only get to heaven by trusting in God through his Son, Jesus Christ.
How do we express faith in Christ? Here’s a simple, biblical guide:
Admit you need a Savior.
We can’t get to God on our own. We’re all sinners. We’ve blown it. Heaven is perfect and we’re not. But the Bible says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9 NIV).
And the apostle Paul tells us, “God says he will accept and acquit us—declare us ‘not guilty’—if we trust Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this same way, by coming to Christ, no matter who we are or what we have been like” (Romans 3:22 TLB).
Believe in Jesus.
The Bible says, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31 NLT). That means you believe Jesus is who the Bible says he is, and you trust him for your future with everything you have.
Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6 NIV).
Your belief must be specific in Christ: “If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from death, you will be saved. For it is by our faith that we are put right with God; it is by our confession that we are saved . . . As the scripture says, ‘Everyone who calls out to the Lord for help will be saved’” (Romans 10:9-10, 13 GNT).
Confess your commitment to Jesus.
Tell Jesus you trust him with your life. Confess that you believe in him and his promises. Jesus said, “If you trust me, you are trusting not only me, but also God who sent me. For when you see me, you are seeing the one who sent me. I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark” (John 12:44-46 NLT).
Depend on God’s promises.
You can rely upon God’s promise in John 3:16: “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son so that anyone who believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (TLB). No matter what you’ve done or how long you’ve done it, God promises that everyone who believes in Jesus will live with him in heaven forever.
Pray a prayer of commitment to Christ.
If you haven’t trusted in Jesus and committed to following him, why wait any longer? Pray this prayer:
“Dear God, I believe Jesus Christ is your Son. I confess I have sinned, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus died to take away my sins and that you raised him to life. I want to trust Jesus as my Savior and follow him as Lord from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”

Dios Quiere Darte Libertad

God’s Plan from the Beginning

“Your hearts and minds must be made completely new, and you must put on the new self, which is created in God's likeness and reveals itself in the true life that is upright and holy.”
Ephesians 4:23-24 (GNT)
From the beginning, God’s plan has been to make you like his Son, Jesus. This is your destiny. God announced his intention at creation: “Then God said, ‘Let us make human beings in our image and likeness’” (Genesis 1:26 NCV).
In all of creation, only human beings are made in God’s image. But the image is incomplete and has been damaged and distorted by sin. So God sent Jesus on a mission to restore the full image that we have lost.
What does the full “image and likeness” of God look like? It looks like Jesus Christ! The Bible says Jesus is “the exact likeness of God,” “the visible image of the invisible God,” and “the exact representation of his being” (2 Corinthians 4:4 NLT, Colossians 1:15, Hebrews 1:3 NIV).
People often use the phrase “like father, like son” to refer to family resemblance. When people see my likeness in my kids, it pleases me. God wants his children to bear his image and likeness too. The Bible says, “You were . . . created to be like God, with a life that truly has God’s approval and is holy” (Ephesians 4:24 GW).
Let me be absolutely clear: You will never become God, or even a god. That prideful lie is Satan’s oldest temptation. Satan promised Adam and Eve that if they followed his advice, “you shall be as gods” (Genesis 3:5 KJV).
Many religions and new age philosophies still promote the old lie that we are divine or can become gods. This desire to be a god shows up every time we try to control our circumstances, our future, and the people around us.
But as creatures, we will never be the Creator. God doesn’t want you to become a god. He wants you to become godly by taking on his values, attitudes, and character.
As you work to fulfill your calling, remember that God’s ultimate goal for your life on earth is not comfort but character development. He wants you to grow up spiritually and become like Christ.
In The Message paraphrase, Ephesians 4:22 says, “Take on an entirely new way of life—a God-fashioned life, a life renewed from the inside and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces his character in you” (Ephesians 4:22). That’s what you are meant to do!
.fb-background-color { background: #ffffff !important; } .fb_iframe_widget_fluid_desktop iframe { width: 100% !important; } PLAY today’s audio teaching from Pastor Rick >>Talk It Over
If all you knew about your calling was to become more like Jesus, would that be enough? Why or why not?
Look at Ephesians 4:22. Why does changing the way we act start with being renewed in the way we think?
How can you know more about what Jesus is like so that you can become more like him?

¡No!
Dios dice: “¡No, no!
You’ve Got the Power of Christ

“He rescued us from the power of darkness and brought us safe into the kingdom of his dear Son.”
Colossians 1:13 (GNT)
On the cross, Jesus destroyed Satan’s power over your life and your destiny. When Jesus said, “It is finished” (John 19:30 NIV), Satan should have said, “I’m finished.” His days are numbered!
Jesus has won the victory over death and Satan. But if you don’t have the power of Christ in your life, then you are defenseless against the devil. Satan can manipulate your emotions. He can mess with your mind. He can get you addicted to all kinds of stuff. You are powerless without Christ!
Satan has two favorite tools: temptation and condemnation.
With temptation, he minimizes sin: It’s no big deal! Everybody does it! You know what will make you happy more than God does! Satan doesn’t have to speak out loud. He just puts ideas in your mind.
Then, the moment you do that particular sin, Satan reverses his strategy to condemnation. Instead of minimizing the sin, he maximizes it: You did that! Are you kidding me? God will never love you again. It’s over. God can never use you. That is so big—you can never, ever be forgiven for it.
First, Satan tempts you. Then, he condemns you. See his strategy? Minimize the sin before you do it, and maximize it afterward to usher in guilt.
On the cross, Jesus defeated temptation and condemnation. He destroyed temptation’s power, giving you the strength to resist it: “He rescued us from the power of darkness and brought us safe into the kingdom of his dear Son” (Colossians 1:13 GNT).
Jesus also destroyed the power of condemnation over you. Satan’s accusations no longer work because the Bible says, “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1 NIV). You are a trophy of God’s grace, so Satan’s accusations don’t stick. You’ve already been cleansed. Jesus cancelled the payment. Jesus paid the debt. Jesus satisfied justice.
Jesus’ death and resurrection were a fatal blow to Satan.
If you have Jesus Christ in your life, then Satan has zero power over you except in the areas that you choose to give him. When you choose to give in to Satan’s temptation or condemnation, then you give him a foothold in your life. But if you choose to say no, he can’t touch you.
With God’s power in your life, Satan can’t harm you. “Your life is hidden with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:3 GNT), and you are protected. You don’t have to listen to Satan. You have the power to say, “No!”
