When is Sharing Giving?

Is sharing perhaps more meaningful than giving?

When you’ve discovered something really good – a restaurant, a song, a TV show

or a book – don’t you want to share it?

Isn’t that kind of sharing a gift?

Devorah and The New Professionalism come in book form, which makes them easy to share, but they’re really full bodied experiences you’ll want to share.

Enjoy an autographed first edition of Devorah, and also receive an autographed first edition of The New Professionalism, free, for $22.99, all-inclusive, and Harmony-Quest Publications will gift wrap and mail a copy of either book or both, to the people on your holiday gift list, free, with your compliments.

Ashamed, Broken Hearted, and Deeply Saddened

Sunday, 11/30, The Miami Herald had an article with their usual out of focus headline – “Former al-Qaida hostage criticizes U.S. agencies” – that made me ashamed to be an American and broke my heart.

According to the article, Matt Schrier, 36, a free lance photographer, escaped from al-Qaida after being held for seven months. Upon reaching our embassy, officials made him sign a document promising to reimburse the State Department for his airfare home. During his captivity, the FBI, which knew of his ordeal, failed to notify his parents. And one month into his return, with no valid identification and unable to rent an apartment, the FBI suggested he move into a homeless shelter.

This is what the article said. There may be extenuating circumstances, facts may be missing, and it may not be true. But if it is true, aren’t you proud to be a citizen of a country – the greatest country on earth – that treats your fellow citizens this way?

The Red Tent – The Mikvah…

Devorah the Covenant and the Scrolls

Devorah, the only female leader of the Hebrews expresses great appreciation for Dinah’s courage and tells her, “In place of The Red Tent, we now (almost 1000 years later) have the mikvah – the ritual bath – as a place of safety and solace for women.”
