Worship, Sensuality and the Tree, Part Two of Two

Is there a basic human need to worship – to acknowledge and surrender to something greater than ourselves, that is not dependent on religion, that even atheists can feel? Could the absence of satisfying worship be the nagging lack we feel, the dull throbbing emptiness? Aren’t we like the trees? Is it really possible to deny, cut off and chastise the earthy sensual part of ourselves and still be healthy? Could all the mental, emotional and physical disease, pain and dysfunction we experience be due to our attempts to cut-off, deny and disown our basic human need; to force our darkness, deeper into the darkness? And how much energy do we expend (waste) on this suppression; energy that might be put to better use? Discover more: http://www.HQPubs.com/spirit-tech-spi...

Worship, Sensuality and the Tree, Part One of Two

Is there a basic human need to worship – to acknowledge and surrender to something greater than ourselves, that is not dependent on religion, that even atheists can feel? If there is, wouldn’t it manifest in two directions at once the same way trees grow? Why then does the sanitized, head-trip that is most contemporary religious and spiritual practice support only one direction, into the light, while shunning the other, into the darkness. Doesn’t full, satisfying worship (and life itself) yearn for the sensual, fecund, earthiness of the dark; yearn to reveal all the hidden, so-called nasty unacceptable aspects, and come naked unto its god? Does this resonate a bit, touch some small part of your experience? Discover more: http://www.HQPubs.com/spirit-tech-spi...

Trees grow in two directions at once

Trees grow in two directions at once – into the open air, light and sky and into the suffocating, secretive dark earth; into their wild desires for both the fecund, shadowy shame-filled (evil?) secret darkness and the open, limitless, light filled (good?) air. Which direction is best?  Is that a useful, reasonable question? Not from the tree’s perspective. The tree needs both. So do we. Aren’t we like trees; don’t we need to grow in both directions at once, too? Discover more: http://www.HQPubs.com/spirit-tech-spi...

But could it also be to grow and be stretched into an ever increasing capacity for contributing to a world that works for everyone and everything? Spirit Tech (Spiritual Technology) builds capacity while it stretches you. Discover more: http://www.HQPubs.com/books/the-new-professionalism/

Spiritual Technology

Spiritual Technology works from the inside out. Its various forms allow us to change ourselves, minds first, then our perceptions, and that makes all the difference. The world doesn’t change but our attitudes about it and ability to perform in it, do change. Learn more: http://www.HQPubs.com/books/the-new-professionalism/
