I will be still and instant and go home.
“This world you seem to live in is not home to you,” Devorah said. “And somewhere in your mind you know that this is true. A memory of home keeps haunting you, a nagging thought that no matter what you do here, no matter how hard you pray, or work or do the right thing happiness will always only be fleeting. Like a song whose name is long forgotten and only partially recalled, but from which you remember how lovely it was, how wonderful the setting where you heard it, and how you loved those who were there and listened with you – that is our memory of home.”

What makes someone a professional?
Does the fact that you are paid for what you do make you a professional? Or is there something more than that? Everyone works for pay. What makes someone a ‘professional’? Ethics? Compassion? Certification?

What makes you a professional?
What makes you a professional? What sets you apart? Is it your expertise and experience; your special methods and technology; your attitude and training? Or is it something more; perhaps a combination of these, with the whole greater than the parts?

Terrorists or Militants – Letters to the Editor
What makes you a professional? Are you a new professional or an old professional?
What spiritual, mental, emotional and behavioral habits make you a professional? Which make you a ‘new’ professional or an ‘old’ professional? Did you know that being a ‘new’ professional or an ‘old’ professional has nothing to do with your age?

Terrorists or Militants?
Once again the Miami Herald has described the Islamic State (ISIL) the people that curcify, behead and rape as ‘militants’. What will it take for the Herald and other similar ‘mainstream’ media to use the term ‘terrorist’ when describing such people? Why do they insist, as they have for years and years, to use the term ‘militants’? Isn’t there a difference in meaning of the two terms? Of course there is, a significant difference. So why does the Miami Herald and other ‘mainstream’ media use what to me seems like the incorrect and inappropriate term? One can only speculate. Is the Miami Herald and others who use the incorrect term afraid that the terrorists will sue them? Are they trying to make readers think that terrorists and militants are the same? If they are, to what end? And what of honest, law-abiding, non-terrorist militants? What are we to think of them? Are we to think of them as terrorists? Newspapers and other media decry the devolution of language, yet the persist in contributing to it, why?

What makes you a professional?
Think about it. Why do you call yourself a ‘professional’? What are the benefits, the drawbacks? What does it mean to be a ‘professional’ now, in the world?

The New Professionalism
Devorah believed as the Schma (the penultimate Hebrew prayer) says, ‘God is one’ and that human beings are one with the power we call God, one with the source from which everything flows, one power, one invisible energy we experience as four states of being – spiritual, mental, emotional and physical. With each state, as the energy flows from its invisible source, it grows denser, more material and tangible until finally we experience ourselves as bodies. Contemporary Physics has confirmed Devorah’s belief. Our experience also tells us that we are not only bodies and that the world is not only physical. How can you make better, healthier use of your oneness with your invisible, spiritual source and all four of your states of being? The New Professionalism explains.

Hmmmmm….
Why comedy, why laughter? Because there’s something funny going on. Consider this from the Swami: “Great to be here because we have no choice, no matter where we are, we’re always here and it’s always now. Would you like to be in the now more? Too late, its’ already then. Living in the now will be the wave of the future and time itself will become a thing of the past.”

Don’t Should on Yourself, Part 4 of 4
We can not live in the world without shoulds. They serve a function. But what we can do is consider them, review them, analyze them critically. Do they work for us, others and the planet? Are they actually, not theoretically nor ideologically, actually contributing to a world that works for everyone right now, not in the future? Are they causing harm and pain? Do we justify them with ‘no pain, no gain,’ or ‘you have to break eggs to make an omelet’? Run the shoulds through your center. Allow your Self to guide your decision to act upon them. Don’t mistake your shoulds for your identity or safety. See them for what they are. Do not be their slave. You are bigger than they are, greater and more wonderful. Feel that, know that and don’t should on yourself.
