Christmas as Deadline?
Got to get the house clean by Christmas. Got to get the dinner ready for Christmas. Got to get all the gifts by Christmas. Got to, got to, got to! Is this what the holiday is about? What happened to the story of the berth of peace, joy and compassion? What if the Christ child can be born in each of us, not just on Christmas day, but every day, many times a day? What if we’ve had the story wrong all these centuries? What if the story’s true meaning is that Jesus is the great example, not the great exception? Didn’t he say greater things than this shall you do also?

Infinite Creative Intelligence?
If the Creative Intelligence in, around and through you, me and all that is, is infinite, can there be a name that adequately describes it? Won’t any name we come up with limit our thinking about It? And bottom line, isn’t It a Mystery beyond our ability to apprehend it fully with our human brains? Of course we must try to apprehend and name It, that’s what being human is all about. And we catch glimpses of It in a smile, laughter, a sunset, the ocean and sky. But those are only glimpses, reminding us that there is something greater than our arrogance. It’s good to accept and enjoy those glimpses and better still to let them lead us to respect and enjoy the wonder and Mystery.

Cuba – Insanity Ending?
Don’t you love this definition of insanity – doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result? Is there a difference between persistence and stuck? Can you see the changing American policy in Cuba as a metaphor for own individual lives? As Kenny Rodgers says, “you’ve got to know when to hold ‘em and know when to fold ‘em.” When we stay too long with something, which most of us tend to do, we suffer and others suffer, too. When does loyalty and tenacity, hatred and fear, become a call to release what no longer serves? Loyalty can become codependency and tenacity stubbornness. Letting go is often a time of great confusion, fear and despair. Yet the only way to have things be different, new, healthier and better is to go through the confusion, fear and despair, and guided by our ideals, make them a reality.

Your Dream or Mine?
Are you in my dream or am I in yours? Is it a happy dream, a nightmare or a little of both, more blah than aha? To be asleep means living unconsciously and not know you’re living unconsciously. Become conscious. It’s your choice. You are the dreamer, not the dream. Byron Katie says “Life is a constant opportunity to wake up.” We are wired for wonder. Let yourself feel it. Awake, experience it, share it.
