LAST NIGHT OF LOVIN’
After his annual checkup, Bob learns that he has a rare disease and 12 hours to live. His wife tearfully says, “Honey, I’m going to give you a night you’ll never forget.”
They make passionate love with an ardor they haven’t felt in years. When they’re done, Bob asks his wife, “Can we do it again?” This time it’s even more passionate.
Later, as she is about to doze off, Bob gives her a nudge and says, “Honey, I know it’s getting late, but I think we can do it one more time.”
“That’s easy for you to say,” she complains. “You don’t have to get up in the morning.”

More Ideas
Where do ideas come from? I don’t know, but they stream across my mind constantly, like clouds across the sun. Where do they go? Back to where they came from. What are they for? Explanation, Inspiration, Guidance, Control. Who’s responsible for them – for entertaining them, ignoring them or fighting with them? Me, only me.
Right? Think about it. Who’s mind is it anyhow – your parents’, teachers’, political party’s, religion’s? Sure, those are sources of ideas, but certainly not THE source. Bottom line, who’s responsible for entertaining, ignoring or fighting with ideas – you are.

Chapter Six – Act As If
Chapter Six in The New Professionalism: Connecting Science and Spirit says that if we act as if it were so, it will be so. The more imagination, feeling, emotion and belief behind our actions, the quicker the vision will appear. This is a two edged sword because tho Chapter Six means it as positive, it can also be negative. Act As If is a neutral law of science, in the same way Gravity and Electricity are neutral laws.
Understand the laws of gravity and electricity and use them correctly and they are positive. Misunderstand them and use them incorrectly and our buildings fall down and we get electrocuted. Same with Act As If. If I act as if I am a sinner and the world is a terrible place, it is so for me. But if I can muster the imagination, emotion and faith in a neutral power that can and will forgive my sins and allow the world to be better, that too will be so for me.
Unfortunately, most of us and most of contemporary society use Act As If in a negative way, much the way the people of Columbus’ time thought the world was flat. It wasn’t true then, and it’s not true now. If we can muster the imagination, emotion and faith in a neutral power that can and will forgive our sins and allow the world to be better, that too will be so for us.

You Must Be Present To Win
I just caught myself being annoyed by my neighbor’s yapping dog. It’s more or less a constant thing. I’ve talked with him about it, but…. If only that dog would shut up, I’d be happy. Really? Wouldn’t something else come along? Yes. Once again, I’m looking for happiness outside myself, for something I never lost.
Were I to acknowledge this and take my power back, if I paused, took a deep breath and asked to see things differently, I’d be present to the peace and happiness already inside me. I’d be present and I could win. Or I could continue to be distracted separate and wear myself out with grievances, victimization and anger. It’s my choice and seeing it that way, the choice is simple.

Experience
Experience is not what happens to me and you. But what we do with what happens to us. Blaming circumstances or others, germs or the weather, is a waste of time. Only you and I are responsible for what we make of the stuff of life. We are always at choice. If we take the external less seriously, not ignore it, but less seriously, turn within and seek a different way of perceiving and making the lemons into lemon aid, we will find it.
