My Review
I first became a huge fan of Chelsea M. Cameron when I read 'My Favorite Mistake'. Her writing style and quirky characters often make it easy to get sucked into her books.
It took me a chapter or 2 to get into 'For Real', and admittedly it's not my favorite from this author, but I found myself flipping pages because I wanted to know what was going to happen next.
Shannon Travers is a virgin, and to her fiends (who I didn't have time for because they're terrible friends in my opinion) it is the worst possible 'situation' to be in - so instead of leaving the issue alone, they drag her out to bar in the hopes that she will finally hand in her dreaded V card. As always, nothing goes as planned, and her friends end up putting Shannon in a proverbial corner. This is when she meets Jett, a graphic design student covered in tattoos who ends up being her 'Knight in Shining Armor' when her friends push her too far.
What ensues is a month long Fake Relationship which Shannon uses to gather friends to back off. But, after getting to know each other, Jett and Shannon find themselves in the precarious position of not knowing what's fake and what's not…
Jett and Shannon aren't like the 'typical' characters you would expect to read about in a book like this and it was refreshing. They are both poor students trying to make ends meet, and happen to be flawed individuals. Have I mentioned that Jett is Asian? No? Well he is, and it's strangely something that makes him very attractive. The back-and-forth banter is typical of a real couple, which is what causes the lines to blur in the first place, and in many ways, their fake relationship is only fake for a short while because of how easily they get along.
I enjoyed the read, and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a cute, lovable story with quirky characters :)

“Wake up, princess,” a male voice I only sort-of recognize says in my ear. My eyes are slow to open and I’m staring right at a chest I don’t remember falling asleep on. I lift my chin and meet a set of gorgeous brown-gold eyes.“Hey,” he says, his voice soft as I realize I’m lying on top of him. At some point during the movie, he’d shifted under me and brought both our sets of legs up on the couch and laid back, pulling me so we’re front to front. My boobs are completely squished into his chest, which is the first thing that makes me try to shift off him.“Um, hey,” I say as I struggle to get off him, but there’s no place to put my hands, so I end up trying to roll and he tries to help me, but I end up tipping too far off the couch, banging the back of my head on the coffee table and landing on my side on the floor with a crash.“Oh my gosh, are you okay?” Is he laughing?“Ow,” I say. I’m awake now. There’s a sharp pain in my hip, and in my skull. Jett reaches down and hauls me up.“You’re laughing at me,” I say as I feel the back of my head.“No I’m not,” he says, while trying to contain his laughter.“Asshole,” I say, but he’s still holding onto me.“Where does it hurt?” he says, finally showing some concern.“The back of my head and my hip banged on the floor. That’s gonna leave a mark.” He walks around me and tenderly moves my hair out of the way to look at my soon-to-be-bumpy head. I go all tingly again, and the pain fades just a little. This guy is better than Tylenol. And then I feel something warm right where the bump is and I swear her just kissed it.“And your hip?” he says, his voice low.Is it possible to die from anticipation? Because I think I just did. Jett crouches down and I swear I’m going to have a seizure if he does what I think he’s going to do. And then he very carefully places the lightest of kisses on my hipbone and OH MY GOD I SWEAR I CAN FEEL HIS LIPS THROUGH MY JEANS AND I’M GOING TO DIE NOW.

Ruining Me and Ruining You are two of my most favorite books ever. I pimp them to anyone who will listen and have had several people thank me for recommending them. Upon finishing Ruining You, I IMMEDIATELY messaged Nicole Reed and told her I HAD to have Rhye’s story. So to say I have been waiting “anxiously” for it to come out is like saying the Pope is a “little bit” Catholic. I have been stalking Nicole’s FB page daily for the release date and I may have squealed like a 3 year old girl and clapped my hands when I saw it on my Kindle.
Rhye Clark was the drug using, tattooed, incredibly HOT rocker bad boy who fed Jay’s bad girl persona in RM and RY.
At the end of Ruining You we find Rhye on his way to LA to finally make it big with his band, The Mavericks. He leaves broken hearted, having lost the only girl he ever loved, Jay, to Kane. Wasted Heart picks up a few years later with an extremely broken Rhye. His band finally made it but drugs and personal demons have destroyed him and he is on the verge of losing everything. His recording company gives him one last shot to clean up his act and produce a new album.
They send him to Tennessee where he meets Syn Landry, a 19 year old up and coming country artist who is the exact opposite of Rhye.
Syn is wholesome and pure, doesn’t drink and truly believes there is good in everyone. Syn’s only issue is that she is hesitant to trust due to the loss of her mother at a young age. She has only met one person who made her want to let her guard down and he ended up hurting her. So imagine her surprise when she meets Rhye and is immediately not only attracted to him, but feels this instant deep connection.
“I feel this is where my life has been leading me. To him.”
Unfortunately, Rhye does NOT feel the same way at first. He sees her as way too innocent for him and only wants to get in her pants for a quickie. Unbeknownst to him, Syn is a virgin and has been saving herself for the right person. Rhye does not feel he is worthy of her love because of his drug addiction and the guilt he is carrying over his band mate killing himself and his role in a high school tragedy. He repeatedly tries to push Syn away but she is unwavering in her support and love for him.
“When I want something. Someone. I fight for them, and I don’t give up until I get what I want. You need to know that. You need to prepare yourself for me. Get right with Jesus and take care of whoever or whatever you need to because you and I are far from over.”
This is NOT a pretty love story. Rhye is broken and Reed does not sugar coat what a drug addict goes through. There is a ton of angst but also some amazingly tender moments... and let’s not forget about the STEAM. When these two finally get together, it will make you squirm in your seat and definitely tingly in your lady bits ;) With Syn’s love and support, Rhye comes to grips with his demons and realizes he has a lot to live for. This book is a REAL love story and I really loved that about it. While I will say it has a HEA and I was happy with how it ended, it isn’t all rainbows and unicorns. With all of that said, I really enjoyed it and I definitely recommend this book! I give it 4.5 stars!

I love angst….I thrive on it, but only the fictional kind. I adore a story that grips the reader from the beginning and doesn’t let go…EVER. I’m an avid reader who just recently discovered my love of writing. My favorite things in life include my three wild & crazy kids, Reese’s Pieces, and every genre of music. I reside in the Deep South.

I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet, sexy read from Chelsea M. Cameron. I becomes a huge fan when I read My Favorite Mistake and her writing style has had me hooked ever since. Sweet Surrendering was no different and i was excited to see Chelsea write something a little hotter…
Aurora Clarke works for her father, and she has worked hard to prove herself in an office full of men. when she is pressurized to hire a new assistant, she wasn't even remotely prepared for the 'candidate' that the Board of Directors had in mind. But she has no choice but to hire him…
When Lucas Blaine was hired by his new boss, Aurora Clarke, he thought it was just another 'job', and was determined to treat it that way. but then he saw her, and he knew he was screwed. he was determined to have her, which ever way he could, but soon realized that it complicated his situation.
They have a steamy love affair, involving board room tables, elevators and eventually can't seem to get enough of each other… But Lucas has a secret, and when it effects his job and threatens his relations with Rory, he has choice to make - Rory or his job…
This book was ((HOT)), and i loved the quirky, playful banter between Rory and Lucas, and of course the steam between the two is off the chain. I related to Rory in so many ways, and I loved that her character wasn't weak - she's a very strong, independent woman show has worked hard t prove that she's more than 'daddy's little girl' in the office.
i also loved the supporting characters - they were funny, and supportive and added so much to the feel of the story! This was a fab read, and if you enjoy sweet, funny, sexy books with a touch of drama, this book is definitely for you :)
