“All my life, I battled with the knowledge I was twisted… screwed up to want something so deliciously dark—wrong on so many levels. But then slave fifty-eight entered my world. Hissing, fighting, with a core of iron, she showed me an existence where two wrongs do make a right."

There's NO meek any1 here, either- the couple is a MATCH in their intensity. This series appeals to me b/c it dwells & extrapolates on the darker intricacies of the human mind/soul and at the end of the day, acceptance and a modicum of "happiness" one can achieve despite being dark/different or even a "monster." I'm not a fan of such dark erotica, yet I found myself loving this series in all it's gory, beautiful glory. Give it a try, if you haven't yet!(less)

Very dark...I almost didn't finish this...not because it isn't FANTASTIC. I almost didn't finish because I was so invested in Tess and so emotionally wrecked by a turn in the story. Of course, that lasted about twelve hours. I couldn't take it, I HAD to know what happened. And OMG...I'm SO glad I did.

I love the characters that Pepper Winters created. I love the growth and change we see in them as they progress from Tears of Tess into Quintessentially Q. This book is NOT for the faint of heart.

Signs you’re reading a phenomenal book:

1. You highlight the shit out of everything. Like on every page. With rainbow colors.

2. You bite off your nails without realizing it.

3. You hang up on your concerned mother who is asking after your welfare.

4. You feel the urge to fangirl all over the author and spam her with your afterthoughts.

5. You go back and re-read some of the EPIC quotes and scenes.

Can I just say I would need some good amount of time to recover from this book and pick a similar book like this one again?

Here is a little Preview of the book-

Stage one: Christian Grey the Darker Version
Stage two: Torture cell
Stage three: Pure Agony and angst
Stage Four: Closure (not a "normal closure" lemme warn you)

Pepper Winters has accomplished what a lot of writers fail to do….meaning she wrote a sequel that is not only just as good as the first book, but maybe better. **GASP**

I loved QQ from start to finish, to the cover, to the characters, EVERYTHING.

The thing with me, I don’t read blurbs to sequels, if I like the first book, I just go with the next one, so I will give you water down version of what happens.

I can't wait for this! Tears of Tess is such a dark, emotional, hot read, I NEED more!!

I thought I would be her nightmare—her terror and darkness. I wanted to be. I needed her more than food or sunlight. Only when she came into my life did I start to live—intoxicated by her taste, screams, and joy.

But our fucked up fairytale didn’t exactly have a happy ending.

When I read Tears of Tess I can frankly say that it wasn’t quite shocking for me…I mean it was one more dark romance novel…a couple that gets to meet each other in the most unwelcomed circumstances and they both find strength in each other…so much they found love. Nothing new there
But this one… this book… shows different aspects of their relationship just as the weaknesses and strengths, and fears from each other as individuals…all surrounded by a preposterous scenario.

One word to describe this book.. Pain. I can't begin to review the experience that this book is but I shall try (without sounding really psychologically messed up). This book will consume you. It's a torturously deep and gut-wrenching ride that you'll refuse to get off. It will rip your heart out at times...many times...but if you hold on, you'll be rewarded in the end. That, I promise you.

Well done Pepper Winters, well done indeed.

Woah! I thought Book 1 was good, but this Book 2 totally blew me away. I'm consumed by this story. I never thought I will cry so much for a presumably kinky read. This is one of the most epic 'dark' romance I've ever read.

Usually in a trilogy, Book 2 tends to be a filler book with inconsequential things happening. But for Monsters in the Dark series, Quintessentially Q might just be the most powerful book in the series. So many things are happening, it was a train wreck, i

In this book we learn more about the fascinating Quincy (mon amour) and Tess who I adore with all my heart. I didn't expect the story to be dark since Tears of Tess wasn't dark at all for me so once I started reading I dived in without knowing what to expect.
