Should Reader Groups Remain on Facebook?

So… my reader group, Sunserious Readers, has been on Facebook for years. It is an intimate group of readers. People are invited to join after they sign up for the reader newsletter. The only question readers are asked when joining is: “What’s your favorite Heather Sunseri book?”

Inside Sunserious Readers, we discuss the books we’re reading, the highlights of our day, emotional support peacocks, and other things like ‘Lady Doritos’. Also, I keep Sunserious Readers updated on what’s going on in...

My Thoughts on It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover

I was reminded by one of my lovely readers yesterday inside Sunserious Readers that I never posted my thoughts on It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover.

That’s because I was WRECKED after I finished that audio book. W-R-E-C-K-E-D! In a good way, of course. Colleen Hoover has a way of making you feel so deeply about characters that you want to hug these new imaginary friends. I was so emotional after listening to It Ends With Us that I jumped immediately into another book relationship and listene...

Desired in Darkness – An Excerpt

[image error] Chapter 1 Romeo

Killing would come easy this time.

I tracked my target through the scope as he entered his Ashton Heights apartment. My mark and his wife occupied the first floor of a duplex, and I had a perfect view into his living room. He set his keys on a small table, shed his jacket—revealing the Glock that rested in a holster on his right side—then walked over, leaned down, and kissed his pregnant wife. He’d been working overtime the last few weeks, trying to hunt me down, and had co...

Mindspeak Teaser: Lexi Plows Into Jack and Breaks Her Arm + a 6th Mindspeak Book Coming Soon

In case you missed the news in the newsletter, I’m writing a 6th Mindspeak book! I know, right???

I’m in the process of rereading the Mindspeak series (all FIVE books). And because it’s been a while since I’ve written inside the Mindspeak world, I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite scenes and see if you agree.

If you’ve never read Mindspeak, you can use this as a sample of the book and decide if you want to give the book a try. If you have read Mindspeak, this will bring bac...

If you’ve never read Mindspeak, you can use this as a sample of the book and decide if you want to give the book a try. If you have read Mindspeak, this will bring back memories.

First up? This scene gives us major insight into who Jack is and tells us what makes L...

Blogging in 2018: Like Facebook, Only Better

Helllooooo! I turned in Desired in Darkness to the Editor Extraordinaire last week. So you know what that means? It’s time for some year-end planning, Christmas shopping, birthday shopping for Thing #2, Christmas celebrating, Netflix watching, house cleaning, exercising, computer organizing, tax planning, and all the other stuff I put off while trying to finish Desired in Darkness. This deadline was brutal!

See what I did there? I’ve mentioned Desired in Darkness three times because I am so f...

Insomnia, It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover, and I Feel Like Road Kill

The first thing I researched this morning was whether road kill was one word or two. DON’T DO THIS! Seriously, I looked up “roadkill definition” on Google, hoping to find out if road kill was one word or two, and one of the first listings that popped up was Urban Dictionary listing for “roadkill” and I realized I had made a serious mistake.

Moving on, I’m suffering from insomnia. I have no idea why. I’ve been exercising this week. I’ve been going to bed at the same time and waking up at the s...
