Heather Sunseri was raised on a tiny farm in the smallest of towns in thoroughbred horse country near Lexington, Kentucky. After high school, she attended Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, and later graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in accounting. Always torn between a passion for fantasy and a mind for the rational, it only made sense to combine her career in accounting with a novel-writing dream.

Heather now lives in a different small town on the other side of Lexington with her two children, and her husband, Mike, the biggest Oregon Duck fan in the universe. When she’s not writing or working as a CPA, she spends her time tormenting her daughter’s cat, Olivia, and loving on her son’s Golden Retriever, J

Hi, Sheenah! Thank you! I'm so happy you're enjoying the series.

The Mindspeak series as told from Lexi Mathews' point of view is a trilogy. However, I am currently working on a spinoff novel - a standalone. This novel will be told in dual points of view from Kyle's POV and from a new character's POV. This novel will be a continuation of the Mindspeak trilogy, and we might see an appearance from some of the characters from the trilogy.

Also, I have future plans for a few more stories of other characters from the Mindspeak series. Be sure to sign up for my newsletter so that you'll know when a new story is being released. http://heathersunseri.com/newsletter

I have just started a Pinterest board to help inspire me with the setting, characters, and special scenes for this 4th novel that has yet to be named. http://www.pinterest.com/heathersunse...

You Can Quit (and why I quit Kentucky Fried Homicide)

If you seek tranquility, do less. Why I left Kentucky Fried Homicide.

I don’t know who needs to hear this today, but it’s okay to quit. Just let go of that thing—that obligation, that activity, that job, that relationship, that creative endeavor—that is no longer adding value to your life. Or worse, is taking away value. Just walk away.

You don’t even owe anyone an elab

I could be biased on this one, but I also read quite a bit of fantasy, so I'm jumping in here to say that Maggie Sunseri hooked me so quickly with The Discovered. I knew when I read the first draft of the first few chapters that she was going to win ...more

I have been an avid reader since I was 4. I grew up with my grandfather who was a Doctorate of English and a professor at the University of California Davis campus. Him and my mom cultivated my love for learning and reading. By the time I was 8 my grandfather had taught me the fine art of speed reading but still retaining details and comprehending what I was reading. I think the only thing I love just as much as reading is diagramming sentences. My kids and husband think I'm nuts. I am THAT person at church that goes through and corrects the bulletin.

I love all genres except I cannot yet wrap my head around the adult romance (or as I call them smut novels). I just recently got into reading a few memoirs and I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed them.

My first favorite author a tie between Beverly Cleary and Ann M. Martin. I hate to say I have 1 specific genre cause I don't really, I will read anything (even textbooks haha). I only hope to pass on my passion for reading to at least 1 of my 4 kids lol.

I will say I almost hate finding the first book in a series when they first come out, for the fact that I HATE waiting for the next book. I appreciate authors hard work cause as much as I love reading I was not gifted with an imagination of my own. Haha

Thank you so much, Natasha!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! And thank you to your friend who recommended it! :) I'm glad you reached out to me here on Goodreads. I like to read in lots of different genres, so I totally understand trying something out of the norm. I'm super excited you gave Mindspeak a try.
