UNKNOWN CRYPTID INCIDENT in Alabama's Wiregrass Region

A Wiregrass region of Alabama resident recalls a loud ruckus that occurred one Autumn night when the neighbor's dogs went ballistic, seemingly attacking or defending against an unknown beast.

The following account was forwarded by a colleague:

"I've lived in the Wiregrass area my entire life, so I'm familiar with some of the cryptids in Alabama. Although I live within city limits, the area behind my house and neighborhood is extremely forested so much—so that deer often hang around back there, as I've seen many of their tracks. A few years ago, my brother and I were in our backyard, which has direct access to the forest. The rear right side of our fence line was filled with thick bushes and small trees. In the center of our yard is a large workshop/garage, and to the right of that is a tree with a rope swing that our dad set up, which is where we usually spent our time. It was early autumn when this event happened.

As we were sitting around and goofing off, all the birds and other little critters suddenly went silent. At the time, I didn't know that this usually means a big predator is nearby. We didn't notice the silence at first, but then we heard the sound of branches breaking, which made us turn toward the noise. I could barely make out a big white body moving in the brush, which scared the hell out of me because I didn't know what it was. I got my brother's attention, and we saw that it had drawn closer. Both of us were terrified, so we slowly made our way back to the porch. Whatever it was stopped moving and just watched us. Once we got inside, we refused to go back out, but we didn't explain why to our parents.

I wouldn't be posting about this if not for what happened an hour ago. I was sleeping in my bed when I was woken up by the neighbor's dogs. They're all pretty big and usually don't bark during the night, but this time, all three were barking at once. One of them sounded like it was yelping in pain while it was clear the other two were fighting something. I didn't want to go out on the back porch because I was too scared (plus it was 3 AM), so I opened the window in my room and tried to look outside. I could only hear what was happening, but whatever it was, it was big. I could hear it wrestling with the dogs, but eventually, the sounds stopped, and I heard it running away. I've gone through a list of what it could have been, but I've ruled out a coyote, bear, jaguar, or snake.

Does anyone know anything about this stuff or any similar experiences?" O

YORKTOWNE HOTEL INVESTIGATION: Remote View & Full On-Site Report

On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, Rissa Miller and I conducted an on-site investigation at the recently renovated Yorktowne Hotel (Hilton Hotels) at 48 E. Market St. in York, PA.

Before the on-site investigation, Beyond HorizonsRemote Viewing was given the task of conducting remote viewing sessions - Target8434-7193 for Lon Strickler regarding the ‘Hilton Hotel ParanormalInvestigation – June 2024.’ This is the only non-specific information providedto the team.

Advance Notes

Before the visit, Lonforwarded only the coordinates of the location to RV coordinator, Deleece Cook,who remotely tapped into the space’s energy. She picked up several ghostsignatures in the building, but nothing malevolent, though one was sassy, andone was sad. Deleece picked up a newer, spunkier entity named Jane and sent Lona drawn image of what looked VERY similar to the border around the rooftoplounge. Deleece’s notes described it more as a balcony looking over a street.This is one of Jane’s preferred locations.

Jane & the Lounge Areas

On the day of, Lon & Istarted at the rooftop lounge. Both instruments in use went off in the sameareas, indicating an entity might be present (EMF meter and visual energycamera). Her presence was first lit up in the hall by the bathrooms, thenout in the main room, then onto the rooftop outdoor area.

Notes from psychic - Janewas not an old ghost like the other two. She may have lived as recently as the1960s-1970s. She has a lot of energy and curiosity. She has likely interferedwith electronics, or broken things like plates because she’s just young andcurious. Not young like a child, but like a younger soul, a person who did notlike old age. It was said that Jane did not grow up in York but came hereto marry someone suggested by her family. But she loved it in York and haddined at the Yorktowne as a living person. It held good memories for her.

Jane may be visible toothers as a shadow in the lounge or lobby, but where there should not be one.She is responsive to her name. She likes it when the lounge areas (lobby androoftop) are busy; she likes people, music, and activities. She may also benoticeable when there is an orange blossom perfume scent (when there shouldn’tbe one).

Please note, that Jane has enoughenergy to move things. She is not dark-intentioned and has no cruelty, but sheis very curious and may move things because she wants to explore - or becauseshe wants to be part of what is happening at the hotel.

Jane can show up anywhere inthe hotel. Unlike the Ghost of Hospitality or the Nanny Ghost, she is notlocked into one region. She is what investigators call a “walk-in” - she walkedinto the hotel as a ghost and decided to stay. She is bound to space by her ownchoice. Jane is an intelligent haunting, meaning she can and does interact.

8th Floor - The Ghost ofHospitality

This floor is home to thehotel’s longest-running ghost story and is well within the public domain. Thereare many versions of the story of this entity, but the one that matches anactual obituary is about a cigar salesman who “lived” at the hotel in the1950s. He was unmarried and came from Philadelphia. Herman Eugene Abrams,“Eugene” to friends, was a full-time salesman and spent so much time with thestaff of the Yorktowne, that he considered them his family. He went into a heartattack in the lobby and died at what we now think of as Wellspan-York Hospital. Buthe returned to the Hotel to stay forever.

Eugene is a formal,old-school gentleman. He is seen dressed in formal attire from the early to mid-1950s.He wears a hat and is known to tip it if you see him as he walks by. His usualroom was always on the 8th floor and that is where he most often stays.Sometimes he goes out into town, and you know he’s coming or going because the8th floor button will light up. Also, he does smell like cigar smoke, so ifanyone smells cigars on the 8th floor in the currently nonsmoking hotel, it’sjust Eugene. He does not know how to speak or move things around; he conductshimself as a gentleman would.

Lon and I had some activityin the lobby of the 8th floor right by the elevators and for a moment, both hada whiff of cigar smoke (Lon did not know the story going into the investigationand had never visited Yorktowne). EMF meter had readings by the lobby, but notin the hallways.

This long-standing story isstill relevant and held up to investigation, and the distance-psychic readeralso picked up on Eugene. Eugene is an intelligent spirit.

Violet and the 4th & 5thFloors

Another less well-known, butin-the-public-domain ghost story about the Hotel is the Nanny Ghost. Thelegends say that on the 4th floor, she appears to comfort children and babieswho are upset. She is said to be gentle and kind, not at all frightening. Inher presence, fussy little ones are said to calmly go to sleep. Again, Lon didnot know this story going into the investigation. Deleece, the psychic noted asad female presence in this area of the hotel.

Psychic notes - The nameViolet came through strongly. As well as a uniform, like Violet worked at thehotel as a maid or in some other capacity. Her hair is dark and cut into a bob,like would have been stylish in the late 1920s, and her attire, as described,matches that timeframe. It’s very possible Violet did not marry or havechildren of her own, but very badly wanted a family. She absolutely LOVESbabies and children and feels tenderly towards them.

Dark Theme - There was alsothe feeling she may have been a victim of rape and had a miscarriage. I couldnot find any police reports in old newspapers to verify this. However, it’s notlikely an unmarried woman would have reported such a crime in the 1920s. Thereis also a likelihood Violet died young, like in her 20s. Possibly from a crimeor severe/fast-acting illness. But like the others, the Hotel was her home, soshe came back to stay there.

There were strong equipmenthits around the maids’ closets on the 4th and 5th floors. Like almost as highas the meter could go. If there was room 507 (it’s where the closest is), thatwould be the hottest spot on these two floors.

Violet is an intelligent spiritbut reserved. She will not show herself readily and prefers young children tomost adults. She has not been known to speak or interact very often.

Ballroom

In the ballroom, there wassome meter activity but nothing specific. Lon and I both wondered if there isresidual energy for all the events there. Most likely there were happymemories, like parties and dancing. It wouldn’t surprise us if late at night,residuals of such events show up.

Overall Observations

There are ghosts at theYorktowne, but they’re not malevolent and don’t seem to have any requests ordemands. Rissa Miller

Lon Strickler’sReport

This was my first and onlyvisit to the Yorktowne Hotel, a venerable and contemporary 1920s-style structureand interior.

From what I was told byRissa, the management had requested an investigation because much of theprevious interactions between the known spirit energies and staff/guests hadwaned since the multi-year renovation of the hotel. We were asked to give ourimpressions as to why this occurred.

On-Site Investigation

At the beginning of theinvestigation, Rissa and I took the elevator to the roof area. The location includesa bar/restaurant as well as an outside promenade. The balustrade (The exactdesign described by Deleece) completely encompassed the promenade.

Rissa and I both remark thatwe felt a female presence as we disembarked the elevator onto the floor. It wasobvious to us that this was Jane’s energy greeting us. She is a boisterousspirit, demonstrating her desire to interact with us.

As we descended from theroof to the guest levels, Jane remained with us. It seemed that she wasdirecting us to a location that she wanted us to concentrate on.

Rissa was very aware of someof the known history and energies that have interacted with guests and staffduring the past 100 years. As we made our way to each subsequent floor, therewere indications of spiritual energy, especially on the 8th floor (HermanEugene Abrams and the cigar odor both Rissa and I pick up on).

There were also a few other impressionssensed during our walk-through, particularly the odor of burning wood, possibleportal activity between descending floors, and the constant presence of Jane.

When we reached the 5thfloor, both Rissa and I experienced a heightened sense of the past. Deleece hadmentioned in her report that the number 507 was significant to Jane. I believethat 507 referred to a room number.

As we got closer to the areawhere a possible Room #507 would have been located it was obvious that was nowa housekeeping storage room or closet. But there was a deep sense of dread andpain at the door of this housekeeping storage room. As I approached the doorand touched the original molding the word ‘violence’ immediately came from mymouth. At the same exact time, Rissa stated ‘Violet.’ We both received amessage, though I believe both Violet’ and ‘violence’ were relevant terms underthe circumstances.

I instantly ‘sensed’ afemale figure, of short, petite stature, and wearing a one-piece dress/uniform.She was African American with very short black shiny hair. She was in distressand pain. I saw a stream of blood flowing down her left leg. I then saw herlying on her right side with her legs extending out of the room into thehallway.

I felt her intense pain. Ifelt her shock. I felt her ‘death.’

I feel that this was theNanny that Rissa had told me about. I truly believe that Jane was telling usthe Nanny’s story… and her demise.

Because of the times whenthis occurred, which I feel was either in 1927 or 1928, the violent death of anAfrican American woman, by whatever means, would have been silenced. But Janewanted us to know.

I make these assumptionsbased on my intuition and ability to interpret spiritual energy. In the timesince our investigation, I have not been able to gather any other intuitiveevidence from the location, not even remotely. It was as if my instantconnection to this terrible act was suddenly turned off. I would surely like tofind tangible evidence of the assault, but I realize that this may not be possible.

Final Notes:

I was truly privileged tohave been allowed to work with Rissa. We had only talked andtexted before the Yorktowne Hotel on-site investigation, but I quickly feltcomfortable with her when we met that day. I am very appreciative to havebecome acquainted with an experienced, capable, and intelligent colleague. Ilook forward to future collaboration with Rissa. Lon Strickler

PERUVIAN GIANTS: Did They Exist? Do They Remain?

I wanted to present some of the historical background and theories behind these oversized skeletons found in Peru over the past many years:

I had read an excellent article about the Conquistador's supposed encounters with giants.. These stories originated from seemingly most areas of the New World. But, for centuries, the legends of giants in the jungles and highlands of Peru were the most known. Along with tales by the local tribes, the Incas and subsequent explorers described a variety of giant-sized beings in the region. There have been a few modern discoveries that bolster these speculations:

Peruvian Tales of Giant Hunchbacks

A one-eyed Indian tale of battling a band of red-haired hunchback giants has caused speculation that a tribe of stone-age aborigines may inhabit the jungles of northern Peru.

The men were described as olive-skinned, barefooted, hunched-back, more than 6 feet 6 inches tall with feet twice the normal size.

One scientist this week said he doubted their existence, but a well-known amateur anthropologist said it was well within scientific probability.

The giants have only been reported in San Juan Province, an area of rainforests and wooded foothills east of the Andes. Its 200,000 residents have no telephone service or paved roads.

Rumors of giant tribesmen have circulated frequently in the past. They received fresh momentum early this month when an explorer said he had stumbled across such a tribe.

Carlos Tarrealza, discoverer of the ruins of a lost Indian city in San Martin Province said he had found the giants when he was lost for two weeks in the jungle.

He said they were clad only in animal skins with reddish hair and spoke a dialect he had never heard. He said they fled at his approach.

Days later, two Lima newspapers, Ultima Hora and La Prensa quoted an Indian guide Encarnacion Napuri as saying on April 25th, a group of about 15 giant aborigines armed with thick wooden clubs, stone-headed axes, and hardwood lances attached attacked a camp of professional hunters.

La Prensa said the tribesmen had abducted three women and wounded five men in the camp before being driven off by shotgun blasts. Ultima Hora said 5 men, 3 women, and 2 children had been injured, but did not mention any kidnapping.

The disparity might be explained by Ultima Hora's comment that Napuri spoke extremely poor Spanish.

The director of the regional center of Indian Remains, Cristobal Cresapana said, "I don't believe in the existence of these hunch-backed men...they correspond to precisely none of the racial traits of the people seen in the Andean region so far."

But Carlos A. Silva, a policeman and amateur anthropologist who traveled widely in the Peruvian Jungles, said the indigenous Peruvian could adapt himself very easily to live in the forested areas of the Andean foothills. - St.Louis Post-Dispatch - May 23, 1976

Tomb of "Giants" Unearthed in Peru

Archaeologists have unearthed a series of tombs rich with treasures of an extinct Peruvian culture. The 1,500-year-old graves held five unusually tall young men surrounded by textiles, ceramics, llama skeletons, and decorative metal works.

The remains are Moche, a culture that thrived on the desert-like coast of northern Peru between A.D. 100 and 800. A farming and fishing community, they constructed irrigation canals, pyramids, palaces, and temples.

The origins of the Moche remain unknown, according to lead archaeologist Christopher Donnan. The skeletons, found during a 1997-99 National Geographic-funded expedition, may yield clues to their culture. - Jennifer Mapes - National Geographic News - February 15, 2001

Giants of the Royal Incas

Nine-and-a-half feet tall is large for a human mummy, especially when it is found among today's diminutive Peruvians, whose average stature is just five feet. Understandably, professional anthropologists find tales of ancient giants amusing, but nothing more. Physical evidence may nonetheless exist to demonstrate that an oversized race of men did indeed dominate parts of prehistoric South America.

There are petroglyphs along mountain paths and at the sites of ruins such as Tiahuanacu, but there are also petroglyphs right downtown Lima associated with the adobe pyramids. Nobody has chronicled these structures. There are several of them right in the middle of one of the major cities of the world. One would have thought that someone from the Discovery Channel would have produced a show on these structures. However, they haven't! It rarely rains in Lima and these adobe pyramid structures were built somewhere between 400 AD and 1000 AD. Even now anthropologists refuse to make any connection between the old and new worlds before the arrival of Columbus.

Flesh-Eating Giants in Peru

"As there is in Peru a story of some giants who landed on the coast at the point of Santa Elena, in the vicinity of the city of Puerto Viejo, I have resolved to mention what I was told about them, as I understood it, without taking into account the opinions of the common people and their various anecdotes, for they usually magnify events larger than life. The natives, repeating a story received from their forefathers from very remote times, say that there came from across the sea on reed rafts that were as large as big ships some men that were so big that an ordinary man of good size scarcely reached up to their knees: their members were in proportion to the size of their bodies, and it a monstrous thing to see their enormous heads and their hair hanging down about their shoulders. Their eyes were as large as small plates. They say they had no beards and that some of them were clad in the skins of animals, and others only in the dress nature gave them. There were no women with them. On reaching this point, they set up their camp like a village (and even in these times there is a memory of the site of their houses). As they found no supply of water they remedied the lack by making some very deep wells, a labor certainly worthy of record, being undertaken by such strong men as these must have been, to judge by their size. They dug these wells in the living rock until they came to the water, and afterward, they built the wells in stone from the water line upwards so that they would last for ages. In these wells the water is excellent and it is always so cold that it is very pleasant to drink.

"When these great men or giants had thus made their settlement and dug these wells or cisterns, they destroyed and ate all the supplies they could find in the neighborhood. It is said that one of them ate more than fifty of the natives of the land; and as the supply of food was not sufficient for them to maintain themselves, they caught much fish with nets and gear that they had. They lived in continuous hostility with the natives, because they slew the latter's women to have them, and they also slew the men for other reasons. But the Indians were not numerous enough to kill these newcomers who occupied their land and lorded it over them; and although they held great discussions about this, they never dared attack them.

"After some years the giants were still in this region, and as they had no women of their own and the Indian women of the neighborhood were too small for them, or else because the vice was habitual to them and inspired by the demon, they practiced the unspeakable and horrible sin of sodomy, committing it openly and in public without fear of God or personal shame. The natives say that our Lord God, unwilling to conceal so wicked a sin, sent them a punishment suited to the beastliness of the crime, and when all the giants were together engaged in this accursed practice there came a fearful fire from heaven to the accompaniment of great noise, in the midst of which a shining angel appeared holding a sharp, bright sword with which he slew them all at a single stroke, and the fire consumed them leaving only a few bones and skulls, which God allowed to remain unconsumed as a token of the punishment. This is the account they give of the giants, and we believe that it happened, for it is said that very large bones have been found and still are found thereabouts and I have heard Spaniards say they have seen pieces of teeth which they thought must have weighed half a pound when whole, and who had also seen a piece of a shin-bone of wonderful size, all of which bears witness to the truth of the incident. In addition to this one can see the places where the sites of their villages were, and also the wells or cisterns they made. I cannot state whence or how these giants came there.

"In the present year of 1550 when in the city of Lima, I heard that when his excellency Don Antonio de Mendoza was viceroy and governor of New Spain, certain bones of men as big as these giants, and even bigger, were found there. I have heard too that in an ancient sepulcher in the city of Mexico or somewhere else in that kingdom certain bones of giants have been found. Since so many people saw them and attested having done so, it can therefore be credited that such giants did exist and indeed they may all have been of the same race.

"At this point of Santa Elena, which is as I have said on the coast of Peru and in the district of the city of Puerto Viejo, there is a remarkable phenomenon: the existence of certain wells or seams of pitch of such excellent quality that it would be possible to tar all the ships one wished with it, since it flows from the earth. This pitch must be from some seam passing through that place: it comes out very hot, etc. - Royal Commentaries of the Incas, volume I, chapter XI - Pedro de Cieza de León

Bizarre Mummy With Giant Head Discovered In Peru

A very strange abnormal-looking mummy with a giant head has been unearthed in Peru.

The discovery was made in the Cuzco region, the heart of the Incan civilization.

Researchers find the mummy extremely odd. The mummy simply does not fit in with the version of history that we have all been taught.

The mummy's head is triangular and its eye cavities are very big.

"It's 20 inches tall, which doesn't coincide with the stereotypes of humans. Its head is triangular and the eye cavities are too big.

The opening at the top of the head also calls for attention, and it has wisdom teeth and molars that also don't coincide with any human being," explains anthropologist Renata Davila.

According to Anthropologist Pablo Bayabar, "children's heads are proportionally bigger than their bodies.

Here we have two points.

First, the fontanelle is open, which usually closes at 31 months. It has molars that usually appear between approximately 13 and 19 months.

So we are looking at a child under two years old with an enormous head."

Pablo Bayabar believes the mummy could have been a human sacrifice.

"This is possibly a human sacrifice, common during Pre-Incan and Incan times. Historians have written for example that during the times of the famous 'capacocha'-situations where the Incans died or could have died-they sacrificed children in the areas close to large mountains to honor the mountains," Bayabar said.

The mummy is currently at the Ritos Andinos Museum in Andahuaylillas, some 685 miles southeast of Lima and scientists plan to examine it in more detail. - forwarded by a reader

FLYING 'MUMMY?' What Did the Southcentral Ohio Witness Observe?

I received an inquiry about a sighting of a flying being that was shrouded like a tightly wrapped mummy. What would this type of anomaly be classified as? UFO, UAP, or something else?

I received the following account:

"I happened upon a report on your blog that is very similar to something I witnessed.

I was traveling on a country road near my home in southcentral Ohio. This was in May 2014 during mid-day. As I approached a stop sign, I noticed an object floating a few feet above the road that reminded me of a vertically shrouded human body or a tightly wrapped mummy. It was all white in color but appeared to pulsate with light within. There were no wings or means of propulsion. The length was 8-10 ft., but it could have been larger. I had no reference to make a correct determination.

I stopped my car and watched this object for a few minutes. I did not get out of the car, simply because I had no idea what I was witnessing.

Then I noticed that it was swelling in size and slowly ascending. It continued to pick up speed, then shot straight into the clouds. That was the last I saw of it.

Your report was the only reference I could find that matched the object." L

NOTE: After I made contact, the witness added that the object was completely still while it hovered above the roadway. Also, they noticed an 'ozone-like' odor during the encounter, even though the witness was in the car. The blog post the witness referred to is the following MUFON CMS report:

"I was in a friend's backyard and he suddenly started telling me that he had been mowing his lawn and just by happenstance caught something out the corner of his eye. He looked up to see what he immediately called a Flying Man. He looked at it for 4-5 Secs and yelled out to his brother who was working with him to come quickly and see this thing. His brother ignored him. He ran over and dragged his brother to the spot. His brother could not see it and walked away. He watched for a few seconds and again went and dragged his brother to the spot where neither could see it. Viewed from its left side and below, it was a 7' tall man in a Copper Colored fitted shell that was metallic-looking reflective material. It was 1.30 pm in the afternoon, with bright sunshine and mostly blue skies. The Flyer was ascending at a 35-degree incline at walking speed. From its elevation, he thought it might have left the ground 30 seconds prior. He estimates it was eighty feet away at about 30' elevation (right over a telephone poll he used for distance) and he had a clear unimpeded view. The flyer had a forward tilt, Ski Jumper attitude and was climbing slowly and silently.

The shape was immediately recognizable as a man wrapped in an aerodynamic shell. The hooded head and shoulders were smoothed together, and the chest was large 3' plus across. It tapered down to what was obviously feet pointing down.

He really wasn't thinking about it too deeply because it didn't make sense to him. He had never heard about the Flying Humanoids and was relieved to have me give some credence to his account. His brother was nonresponsive to the whole affair and only after I told them about this phenomenon did he think his brother might have actually seen something. Which is strange because he was uncharacteristically being yelled at to come quickly. He said his brother was definitely worked up, instantly. We looked at a map and determined the starting point might well be a Big Church that takes up a large area.

Brief, Recently Received BIGFOOT Sighting & Encounter Reports

Here is a series of brief, recently received, witness Bigfoot sightings & encounter reports from the United States & Canada.

I received the following brief Bigfoot reports:

"No Date - Western Kentucky: Tom Hedges recalled that after some cattle had been found killed, 13 men were hired to patrol the area. They reported one evening, seeing a “large bear” or something “gigantic... hairy... man-like” running across the pasture on two legs. One of the men shot at it twice and it ran off. He was certain that he hit it. Two days later, the local news reported that a female motorist claimed to have observed what she described as a “dead Bigfoot” on the highway. Calls were made to the local police to clarify this but they denied it. Afterward, they had no more trouble with the cattle."

"1998 / Barber County, Alabama: A young man (no name given) sitting in a blind at night claims that he heard the sounds of something in mourning walking (on two legs) through the swamp. “The cry I heard was anguish and it was mixed with some kind of unintelligible words. It was like someone who could not hear properly to form their words correctly but who had experienced a great loss,” the witness recalled. “It passed behind me onto my left and it stepped slowly through the water as it continued to cry and express its grief in some guttural language that I could not understand.” He remembered being overcome with sadness to the point of crying. He made it out of the forest unharmed."

"2014 September / Mississippi: Two hunters on the Tombigbee River in North Mississippi claim that they encountered something coming through the bush that sounded like a freight train after stumbling over a crudely made structure. Several sets of shredded bloody clothing, including a wallet, were found inside and around said structure. Upon getting back to town, they handed the items they had grabbed over to the local police. The police refused to let them take them to the location. Days later, the police informed them that they found nothing in the woods, no structures, nor did the wallet have any content. The witness noted that this was an outright lie, as it was filled with paperwork when they handed it over. Cover-up?"

"1977 - Nassau, New York: I grew up in Nassau New York on Lords Hill on RT 20 in the mid to late 70s, my brother and I were behind our house in a tall oak tree (1977) when all of a sudden we see a big hairy man emerge from the tree line about 200 yards away- definitely not a bear - the only thing I can assume was Bigfoot. The big beast slowly walked over the hill and down the other side never to be seen again. I will never forget that summer afternoon. The area was very rural back then and there were many dense forests and open fields everywhere. I believe what I saw was indeed Bigfoot."

"No Date - Vancouver Island, Canada: Come to Vancouver Island. Many stories. Of sightings on the road to Tofino. My son was friends with a local lumber driver who was delivering wood to Tofino in the early morning. He was driving when all of a sudden down the road a tall hairy person jumped from one side of the road to the other in the bush. The guy was shocked and pulled over where he jumped from and had a picture of a very large footprint. He gave the picture to my son who then gave it to me."

"1980s – Idaho: I live in Idaho, 30 miles from the British Columbia border. This area is fairly settled and logged over now but until the 80s was mostly old-growth timber. My uncle lived a mile or so away and, one night was disturbed by what he thought was a bear on his porch and ran out with a 30 30 to deal with it. According to him, instead of a bear, it was a 9 foot tall ape-like thing, all hairy and stunk like the devil. He ran back in the house and locked the door and it was several years before he would go out at night alone."

Hanover, PA TAROT READER & PROPRIETOR Files Lawsuit (VIDEO)

A Hanover, PA proprietor is facing fines & jail time for supposedly breaking a state law against tarot reading. The local police have threatened to arrest her. A lawsuit has been filed.

"Breaking the 163-year-old law is punishable by up to one year in jail and a $2,500 fine, the lawsuit said.

A Pennsylvania fortune teller is suing local law enforcement and local government claiming that an 1861 statute banning tarot reading for profit is unconstitutional, violating their free speech protections. The lawsuit, filed Aug. 19 on behalf of Beck Lawrence, owner of The Serpent’s Key Shoppe & Sanctuary, names Hanover Chief of Police Chad Martin and Hanover Borough as defendants.

McClatchy News reached out to the defendants on Aug. 23 for comment but did not immediately hear back. “Martin and another unidentified officer entered my place of business, denied me the right to record our conversation, and then threatened to arrest me for up to a year or charge me a $2500 fine for…tarot reading,” Lawrence said in an Aug. 21 Facebook post recounting the October 2023 incident. “While they assured me verbally they weren’t taking me to jail that day... if they had any other credible reports of fortune telling, they would be back and would take action,” Lawrence said.

Lawrence seeks declaratory and injunctive relief as well as a jury trial, according to the lawsuit. “I’m willing to take this fight up to the Supreme Court if I have to,” Lawrence told WGAL. 1861 FORTUNE TELLING STATUTE Enacted in 1861, Pennsylvania’s Fortune Telling statute states that a person is guilty of a misdemeanor if one “pretends” to tell fortunes or predict the future for “lucre,” or profit, according to the lawsuit. The statute prohibits future and fortune telling “by cards, tokens, inspection of the head or hands of any person, or by the age of anyone, or by consulting the movements of the heavenly bodies, or in any other manner,” according to the lawsuit. The lawsuit argues that the statute is a content-based free-speech restriction “not narrowly tailored to serve a compelling government interest.” “Telling fortunes is simply speech, even if done in exchange for lucre,” the lawsuit said. “At its most basic levels, tarot card readings are a form of entertainment and a bonding activity,” the lawsuit said, adding that Lawrence shares a disclaimer with customers that readings “should not be used as professional advice.” Not having “pretend” defined in the context of the statute also means a person who “sincerely believes” they can forecast the future would still be criminally liable if the government determines all fortune tellers are “pretending,” according to the lawsuit.

The lawsuit points to Pennsylvania’s legal allowance of fortune cookies, the sale of Magic 8 Balls, sports betting, weather forecasts, and free fortune telling as evidence of the statute’s “unprincipled” application.

Other legal experts say the law is in place to protect “gullible people from being ripped off” despite disclaimers from fortune tellers that their services are for entertainment purposes only. Attorneys representing Lawrence are asking the court to rule that the statute violates the First and Fourteenth Amendments of the U.S. Constitution.

Sister Wilhelmina's 'INCORRUPTABILITY': Condition of Her Body Has Been Highly Atypical (VIDEO)

Most Reverend Bishop James V. Johnston releases results of examination and evaluation by medical experts concerning the remains of Sister Wilhelmina Lancaster, OSB

Statement from the investigative team:

"The condition of her body is highly atypical for nearly four years since her death," the team reported, "especially given the environmental conditions and the findings in associated objects." To that end, an analysis of the soil from the ground where Lancaster was buried also came up short as far as providing some explanation for why her body was so perfectly preserved. Although the diocese conceded that they are unable to explain the curious condition of the nun's remains, they stressed that "the Catholic Church does not have an official protocol for determining if a deceased person’s body is incorrupt, and incorruptibility is not considered to be an indication of sainthood. There is no current plan to initiate a cause for sainthood for Sister Wilhelmina."

Bishop James V. Johnston, Jr. of the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph statement:

Sister Wilhelmina Lancaster died on May 29, 2019, and was buried within days in a grave on the property of the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles monastery in Gower, Mo. She was buried without any embalming or other treatment of her body, in a simple unsealed wooden casket. Following the exhumation of the body of Sister Wilhelmina on April 28, 2023, to move her body into the Abbey church for interment, it was discovered that her body did not exhibit signs of decomposition that would normally have occurred after nearly four years of burial under the conditions described above.

On May 24, 2023, as the Bishop of the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph, I commissioned a team of local medical experts to conduct an examination and evaluation of Sister Wilhelmina’s body. The team was led by a Doctor of Pathology, who was assisted by two other medical doctors and a former Missouri county coroner. In addition to examining and evaluating the mortal remains of the deceased, the team inspected the casket, and interviews were conducted with eyewitnesses to events immediately preceding the burial in 2019 and the exhumation in April 2023.

In the final report, the investigative team noted that the condition of Sister Wilhelmina’s body during the examination was notable for a lack of any detected features of decomposition. The lining of her casket had completely deteriorated, but her habit and clothing showed no features of breakdown. The report also noted that the related history of Sister Wilhelmina’s death and interment does not describe conditions that would be expected to protect against decomposition.

The investigative team was only able to conduct a limited examination but still concluded that “the condition of her body has been highly atypical for nearly four years since her death, especially given the environmental conditions and the findings in associated objects.”

Along with the evaluation by medical experts, additional tests were soon conducted on the soil in which the burial took place. After analysis, no unusual elements were found which would have impacted the condition of Sister Wilhelmina’s body when it was exhumed.

In conclusion, within the limits of what has been observed during this time, the body of Sister Wilhelmina Lancaster does not appear to have experienced the decomposition that would have normally been expected under such previous burial conditions.

The Catholic Church does not have an official protocol for determining if a deceased person’s body is incorrupt, and incorruptibility is not considered to be an indication of sainthood. There is no current plan to initiate a cause for sainthood for Sister Wilhelmina.

The condition of the remains of Sister Wilhelmina Lancaster has understandably generated widespread interest and raised important questions. I pray that Sister Wilhelmina’s story continues to open hearts to love for Our Lord and Our Lady.

NINGEN: Antarctica's Legendary Leviathan (VIDEO)

The Ningen is one of the creepiest of cryptids. Meaning literally 'human', it’s supposedly a huge unknown animal sighted by a Japanese fisherman, which bears a remarkable resemblance to humans.

Not only an oddly familiar face, but some reports include even arms and hands. Other creatures of the seas, namely skates and rays, also have nostrils and mouths that resemble a human-like face. Are oversized natural species misidentified as Ningen? Not according to the legends.

The creatures are said to inhabit the northern Pacific Ocean and the waters around the Antarctic.

I have included several images and a few other links that will represent the 'creepy' factor I mentioned. I have no doubt that many of these images are photo-shopped if not outright fake...but the tales about these creatures are believed by quite a few traditional Japanese. - Ningen Rohan (Japanese Edition)[image error]

Was it a Ningen?

Footage of uncertain origin shows a shadowy figure with clearly discernible arms and legs floating in the near distance.

Carried by the current, it slowly draws closer, its limbs scarcely moving as something – seemingly fish – darts in front of the camera.

Then the video abruptly ends, leaving only speculation to establish the identity of the ominous presence.

The information posted with the clip claims it shows the Ningen, a mythological creature said to lurk off Antarctica.

Estimated to be 20 to 30 meters in length, it is described as having a human appearance and even five-fingered hands.

Apparently first sighted by a Japanese whale research ship, the Ningen taken for a submarine until the crew got a closer look.

Yet no concrete evidence has confirmed the existence of the creature, despite several alleged sightings.
