The Bizarre ODON, INDIANA 'FIRE POLTERGEIST' Incident

Odon, Indiana, is a peaceful small town and not one that you would suspect of having a history of paranormal mysteries. Yet in June 1940, an Odon farmhouse would be the setting of one of the strangest supernatural puzzles of modern times.

William Hackler finished breakfast and left the house to begin his many chores for the day. As he was walking across the yard, he noticed smoke pouring out of one of the upper-story windows. Alarmed, he ran back into the house and raced up the stairs. Once inside the room, he saw that a medium-sized fire was consuming the wall underneath the window. The fire seemed to be coming from inside the wall itself. This would make one suspect faulty wiring, but the Hackler homestead was not wired for electricity. And there was no fire burning in the house’s stove. There was no apparent cause for the fire.

The volunteer fire department was sent for and put out the mysterious fire soon after their arrival and then left.

No sooner had the firefighters put off the flames and returned to the station, that another call came from the Hackler house. This time, Mrs. Hackler had found another fire ablaze on her feather bed. Now the fire seemed to be originating from the mattress. The fire spread wildly and covered the entire room. The firefighters acted steadily and doused the flames.

If the firemen thought they would be leaving the Hackler house any time soon, they were to be disappointed. Throughout the day fires burst out and consumed objects and parts of the house’s structure. In one case a firefighter went to a bookshelf and picked up a book that seemed to be emitting smoke. As he opened it, he found it burning from within. In fact, the cover was intact while the pages were on fire. In the kitchen, a firefighter found a pair of coveralls burst into flames, while a damp dishwasher caught fire. A bedspread caught flames right before the eyes of a dozen witnesses. As a flame on the roof was completely extinguished, another fire broke out charring the window blinds. A medicine cabinet was found burning from the inside, while another book inside a desk drawer was mysteriously flaming from within, while its covers were unspoiled.

Scared, the Hacklers removed all their goods, took out the windows, and patiently waited for the house to be engulfed by flames. However, with another little fire at 11:00 p.m., the fires ceased. Several goods were burnt, but the house itself wasn't seriously harmed. About a hundred firefighters had gathered to put off 28 fires in a single day! No cause could be determined. There was no electricity, nor was any stove left burning. On July 4th, the unsettled Hacklers found it wise to have their house demolished. On April 19, 1941, Collier's Magazine published an advertisement from the Traveler's Insurance Company, detailing the petrifying tale of the Odon Fire Poltergeist.

Officials were baffled and put forward odd solutions such as rogue magnetic fields, gasses seeping from an unused well, and pranks by Hackler’s children. Thoroughly spooked, Hackler demolished the house and built a new one. As far as history records, he and his family were never bothered by phantom fires again.

Was this a case of spontaneous combustion, or was there a supernatural cause?

APOCALYPSE PROPHECIES: Conjecture and Ambiguity

The world DID NOT end on December 21, 2012, as some interpreted the Mayan prophecies. One of the important discoveries from the Yucatan ruins is that the Maya had several calendars.

One is known as the Long Count calendar, which is reset to day 0 every 1,872,000 days, a period known as The Great Circle. The next reset date, by some calculations, is December 21, 2012. Obviously, this calendar is of no interest to the Maya any longer, since their civilization collapsed over a thousand years ago. (Though there are people today who are the descendants of the Maya and the culture lives on through them) Nevertheless, this date is of enormous interest to certain doomsday prophets and New Age astrologers, such as Carl Johan Calleman, who are spreading the good news either that the Maya knew the date when the world would end or they knew the date when a New Age of Transformation would begin.

In Charles Gallenkamp's book Maya The Riddle And Rediscovery Of A Lost Civilization[image error] on December 21, 2012, there will be an "alignment between the galactic and solar planes." The winter solstice sun will "conjunct the Milky Way." This is supposed to open up some sort of "cosmic sky portal."

Astrologer John Major Jenkins explains the chart: If we make a standard horoscope chart for December 21st, 2012 A.D., nothing very unusual appears. In this way, I was led astray in my search until Linda Schele provided a clue in the recent book Maya Cosmos. Probably the most exciting breakthrough in this book is her identification of the astronomical meaning of the Mayan Sacred Tree. Drawing from an impressive amount of iconographic evidence, and generously sharing the process by which she arrived at her discovery, the Sacred Tree is found to be none other than the crossing point of the ecliptic with the band of the Milky Way. Indeed, the Milky Way seems to have played an important role in Mayan imagery. For example, an incised bone from the 8th century Tikal depicts a long sinking canoe containing various deities. This is a picture of the night sky and the canoe is the Milky Way, sinking below the horizon as the night progresses, and carrying with it deities representing the nearby constellations.

The incredible Mayan site of Palenque is filled with Sacred Tree motifs and references to astronomical events. In their book, A Forest of Kings: The Untold Story of the Ancient Maya[image error] Schele and Freidel suggested that the Sacred Tree referred to the ecliptic. Apparently, that was only part of the picture, for the Sacred Tree that [the Mayan king] Pacal ascends in death is more than just the ecliptic, it is the sacred doorway to the underworld. The crossing point of the Milky Way and ecliptic is this doorway and represents the sacred source and origin. (Apparently, Jenkins is interpreting Pacal's sarcophagus, which depicts the Sacred Tree emerging from what has been called an umbilical cord)

While it is true that the sun conjuncts the Sacred Tree on December 3rd in the year 755 A.D., over the centuries precession has caused the conjunction date to approach the winter solstice. So, how close are we to perfect conjunction today? Exactly when might we expect the winter solstice sun to conjunct the crossing point of the Galactic Equator and ecliptic - the Mayan Sacred Tree? Any astronomer will tell you that, presently, the Milky Way crosses the ecliptic through the constellation of Sagittarius and this area is rich in nebulae and high-density objects. In fact, where the Milky Way crosses the ecliptic in Sagittarius also happens to be the direction of the Galactic Center.

Most astronomers will likely tell you that an alignment between our sun and any particular point in the Milky Way will just bring another day in paradise here on planet Earth. In any case, Jenkins is not alone in his interpretation of the mysterious Maya Long Count calendar. A Guatemalan anthropologist and student of Maya history and calendars, Carlos Barrios, has a similar interpretation:

The Mayan calendar's comprehension of time, seasons, and cycles has proven itself to be vast and sophisticated. The Maya understand 17 different calendars, some of them charting time accurately over more than ten million years. The calendar that has steadily drawn global attention since 1987 is called the Tzolk'in or Cholq'ij. Devised ages ago and based on the cycle of the Pleiades, it is still held as sacred. With the indigenous calendars, native people have kept track of important turning points in history. For example, the daykeepers who study the calendars identified an important day in the year One Reed, Ce Acatal, as it was called by the Mexicans. That was the day when an important ancestor was prophesied to return, "coming like a butterfly." In the Western calendar, the One Reed date correlates to Easter Sunday, April 21, 1519, the day that Hernando Cortez and his fleet of 11 Spanish galleons arrived from the East at what is today called Vera Cruz, Mexico.

When the Spanish ships came toward shore, native people were waiting and watching to see how it would go. The billowing sails of the ships did indeed remind the scouts of butterflies skimming the ocean surface.

It will be the start of a new era resulting from and signified by the solar meridian crossing the galactic equator, and the earth aligning itself with the center of the galaxy.

At sunrise on December 21, 2012, for the first time in 26,000 years, the Sun rises to conjunct the intersection of the Milky Way and the plane of the ecliptic. This cosmic cross is considered to be an embodiment of the Sacred Tree, The Tree of Life, a tree remembered in all the world's spiritual traditions. Some observers say this alignment with the heart of the galaxy in 2012 will open a channel for cosmic energy to flow through the earth, cleansing it and all that dwells upon it, raising all to a higher level of vibration.

So according to these interpretations, we can expect a transformation and good vibrations as a result of a cosmic energy flow. This sounds fantastic to me...maybe we'll receive a few answers to some long-ago-asked questions as well. However, the facts indicate that the Maya kings and nobles focused more on short-term projects like enriching themselves, building monuments, and remaining in power than in predicting the dawning of a new age of good vibrations long after their civilization had collapsed.

Nevertheless, let's look at the prophecies:

The Mayan Prophecies of 2012

An Apocalypse (Greek: “lifting of the veil” or “revelation”) is a disclosure of something hidden from the majority of mankind in an era dominated by falsehood and misconception.

"Both the Hopis and Mayans recognize that we are approaching the end of a World Age... In both cases, however, the Hopi and Mayan elders do not prophesy that everything will come to an end. Rather, this is a time of transition from one World Age into another. The message they give concerns our making a choice of how we enter the future ahead. Our moving through with either resistance or acceptance will determine whether the transition will happen with cataclysmic changes or gradual peace and tranquility. The same theme can be found reflected in the prophecies of many other Native American visionaries from Black Elk to Sun Bear." — Joseph Robert Jochmans

"The person with no previous exposure to the Mayan Calendar will usually initially be surprised by the fact that some people today take such an interest in an ancient calendar. After all, human history has seen a high number of different calendars. Is not then the Mayan calendar just a very specialized subject of interest only to specialists or history buffs? “Why would the world today need another calendar than the Gregorian or Muslim that are currently in use, and why should this be the Mayan calendar?” some may ask.

Well, to begin with, most people probably have a much too limited view of the importance of the Mayan civilization, and Native American traditions generally. In fact, at their height in the 5th to 9th centuries AD, the Mayan cities would be among the largest in the world and developed the most advanced mathematics and astronomy of their day. And so, even if the Native American civilizations hardly survived the later contact with the Europeans they were and are the carriers of a significant and irreplaceable part of the global human consciousness.

When we talk about the Mayan Calendar something profoundly different is also meant than just a system to mark off the passage of time. The Mayan Calendar is above all a prophetic calendar that may help us understand the past and foresee the future. It is a calendar of the Ages that describes how the progression of Heavens and Underworlds condition the human consciousness and thus the frames for our thoughts and actions within a given Age. The Mayan Calendar provides an exact schedule for the Cosmic Plan and the unfolding of all things that come into existence. There is now ample empirical evidence for this, something that shines new light on the age-old questions of mankind. Things do exist for a reason. The reason is that they fit into the divine cosmic plan. For those who seriously engage in a study of the Mayan Calendar this soon becomes evident and the former materialist worldview loses all relevance. The Mayan Calendar is a gateway to the worlds of consciousness which the majority of humanity has been blinded to through the use of false or delusory calendars.

Since everything that exists is an aspect of consciousness, and the Mayan Calendar describes the evolution of consciousness in all of its aspects, no stone is left unturned for the serious student of the Mayan Calendar. All of science is affected, all of religion is affected, all of life is affected. We are here for a reason. Time is no longer equated with money but with spirit. Time is an inspiration!

My own view is that this is the last chance that human beings will have to truly align themselves with the cosmic plan. It is now or never and if you do not think that the Conscious Convergence has something to do with you you probably have not studied the Mayan calendar seriously enough. Hence, there can be no proxies for your participation in the transformation of the world as the calendar comes to an end." - Carl Johan Calleman Ph.D

The Prophecies of the Hopi People

Their prophecies are not written in obscure, archaic language, hidden away in dusty tomes. The Hopi Elders have passed these warnings to subsequent generations through word of mouth and concerning ancient rock drawings and tablets, keeping track of those that have been fulfilled and paying close attention to warning signs.

The following prophecies, probably the only portion shared with whites at the time, have been reproduced many times and are usually the first glimpse of Hopi Prophecy that one encounters when researching the subject.

Emergence to the Fifth World

"The end of all Hopi ceremonialism will come when a Kachina removes his mask during a dance in the plaza before uninitiated children. For a while, there will be no more ceremonies, no more faith. Then Oraibi will be rejuvenated with its faith and ceremonies, marking the start of a new cycle of Hopi life.

"World War III will be started by those peoples who first revealed the light (the divine wisdom or intelligence) in the other old countries (India, China, Islamic Nations, Africa). The United States will be destroyed, land and people, by atomic bombs and radioactivity. Only the Hopis and their homeland will be preserved as an oasis to which refugees will flee. Bomb shelters are a fallacy. "It is only materialistic people who seek to make shelters. Those who are at peace in their hearts already are in the great shelter of life. There is no shelter for evil. Those who take no part in the making of world division by ideology are ready to resume life in another world, be they Black, White, Red, or Yellow race. They are all one, brothers.

"The war will be a spiritual conflict with material matters. Material matters will be destroyed by spiritual beings who will remain to create one world and one nation under one power, that of the Creator.'

"That time is not far off. It will come when the Saquasohuh (Blue Star) Kachina dances in the plaza and removes his mask. He represents a blue star, far off and yet invisible, which will make its appearance soon. [Some Hopi spokespersons suggest that Hale-Bopp is the Blue Star.] The time is foretold by a song sung during the Wuwuchim ceremony. It was sung in 1914 just before World War I, and again in 1940 before World War II, describing the disunity, corruption, and hatred contaminating Hopi rituals, which were followed by the same evils spreading over the world. This same song was sung in 1961 during the Wuwuchim ceremony.

"The Emergence of the Future Fifth World has begun. It is being made by the humble people of little nations, tribes, and racial minorities. 'You can read this in the earth itself. Plant forms from previous worlds are beginning to spring up as seeds. This could start a new study of botany if people were wise enough to read them. The same kinds of seeds are being planted in the sky as stars. The same kinds of seeds are being planted in our hearts. All these are the same, depending on how you look at them. That is what makes the Emergence to the next, Fifth World.'

"These comprise the nine most important prophecies of the Hopis, connected with the creation of the nine worlds: the three previous worlds on which we lived, the present Fourth World, the three future worlds we have yet to experience, and the world of Taiowa, the Creator, and his nephew, Sotuknang." - from Book of the Hopi[image error] by Frank Waters

"The Fourth World shall end soon, and the Fifth World will begin. This the elders everywhere know. The Signs over many years have been fulfilled, and so few are left.

"This is the First Sign: We were told of the coming of the white-skinned men, like Pahana, but not living like Pahana -- men who took the land that was not theirs and who struck their enemies with thunder. (Guns?)

"This is the Second Sign: Our lands will see the coming of spinning wheels filled with voices. (Covered wagons?)

"This is the Third Sign: A strange beast like a buffalo but with great long horns, will overrun the land in large numbers. (Longhorn cattle?)

"This is the Fourth Sign: The land will be crossed by snakes of iron. (Railroad tracks?)

"This is the Fifth Sign: The land shall be criss-crossed by a giant spider's web. (Power/telephone lines or the internet?)

"This is the Sixth Sign: The land shall be criss-crossed with rivers of stone that make pictures in the sun. (Concrete roads and their mirage-producing effects?)

"This is the Seventh Sign: You will hear of the sea turning black, and many living things dying because of it. (Oil spills?)

"This is the Eighth Sign: You will see many youth, who wear their hair long like our people, come and join the tribal nations, to learn our ways and wisdom. (Youth of the 1960's?)

"And this is the Ninth and Last Sign: You will hear of a dwelling-place in the heavens, above the earth, that shall fall with a great crash. It will appear as a blue star. Very soon after this, the ceremonies of the Hopi people will cease.

"These are the Signs that great destruction is here: The world shall rock to and fro. The white man will battle people in other lands -- those who possessed the first light of wisdom. There will be many columns of smoke and fire such as the white man has made in the deserts not far from here. Those who stay and live in the places of the Hopi shall be safe. Then there will be much to rebuild. And soon, very soon afterward, Pahana will return. He shall bring with him the dawn of the Fifth World. He shall plant the seeds of his wisdom in our hearts. Even now the seeds are being planted. These shall smooth the way to the Emergence into the Fifth World."

The Revelations of Nostradamus

Michel de Nostredame or Nostradamus as he is popularly called, was born in France in 1503. He was a kind of pharmacist and a healer and around 1550 he developed an interest in the occult sciences and started writing almanacs. He became famous for these and many people used to come to him for horoscopes and psychic advice. Later he started summarizing his prophecies and writing them in quatrains which is a four-line poetic para in French. He compiled about a thousand of these undated quatrains into a book called The Prophecies[image error] Nostradamus wrote in a cryptic style and his quatrains need interpretation. Many have found that most of these predictions have been accurate and his prophecies are highly regarded by astrologers and in many occult circles.

You must keep in mind that Nostradamus's predictions are never clear cut and he writes symbolically hence different people interpret these symbols in various ways. Although this is the case, many of his predictions have been interpreted correctly regarding the Second World War, Hitler, and so on. This makes 2012 Nostradamus predictions even more interesting to read as most people feel that they can be highly accurate.

According to these interpretations, Nostradamus predicted massive destruction and havoc brought about by a comet. It is not clear whether this comet will strike the earth or will pass very close to our planet, causing massive earthquakes and other cataclysmic occurrences. But many interpreters of his quatrains are united on the opinion that it will be a comet that will come somewhere in December 2012.

One of the quatrains says – “King of terror shall come from the sky. He will bring to life the King of Mongols.” This line has been interpreted that after the coming of the comet, China will gain prominence and might start attacking countries to gain supremacy. Nostradamus also gives an indication of the fate of certain nations. “The Huge dog will howl at night, when the great pontiff will change lands”. The great dog is taken to be the United Kingdom by many interpreters, and the line suggests its destruction. The pontiff is taken to be the pope and hence Rome too will be destroyed.

The Book Of Revelation

The Book of Revelation opens with the announcement of its title, and with a benediction on those who give diligent heed to its solemn prophetic utterances:

1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto Him, to show unto His servants things which must shortly come to pass; and He sent and signified it by His angel unto His servant John:

2 who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.

3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

Biblical scholars believe that around 90 CE the Book of Revelation was written, the only apocalypse in the New Testament and the "last book of the Bible..." the least read and most difficult." Revelation has had tremendous influence on our culture and history, not only motivating millions of believers but contributing vivid images and phrases to popular culture, from the "four horsemen of the Apocalypse" to the "mark of the beast."

Of course, its meaning is open to interpretation...just like all of the doomsday scenarios and predictions.

In my opinion, on a collective scale, we are experiencing a period in which all that has been unconscious may become conscious. All that has been hidden may begin to be revealed.

We live in rare and precarious times...astounding, fragile, and mysterious. We are each drop in this sea of humanity, small pieces of the physical and psychic collective. We need to remember our unity by facing our shared challenges. The crises we will face must bring us together to inspire our constructive creativity. There is no way out of the future, only a way through. By finding genuine compassion with each other, we access genuine wisdom. Lon

(VIDEO) CHICAGO MOTHMAN Seen by Multiple Witnesses on Lakeview High-Rise Roof

A group of 10 friends were on a high-rise rooftop having a cookout. A large, dark-colored winged humanoid soon appears and starts circling the building. A brief video was recorded.

"Hi, Lon. This is the first time I have ever reached out to a paranormal researcher, so I hope I'm doing this correctly.

On June 10, 2023, I had about 10 friends over to my new home in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood for an evening rooftop cookout. For the scene setting, my rooftop is on the 26th floor of a highrise on Lake Shore Drive, surrounded by buildings of similar height, right across from Lake Michigan. The panoramic views from this height reach up to 25 miles in every direction.

During the party, around 6:45 PM, we began to run low on chilled wine. So 5 members of the group, myself included, went downstairs to my home on the 3rd floor to get more wine and use the restroom. When we came upstairs, we found the remaining 5 who stayed on the roof visibly frightened and disturbed. These were people who were born and raised Chicagoans, not phased by anything! But they were absolutely scared of "something they had just seen."

They explained to us that a large, 10-13 foot tall, 15-foot wingspan "person" was FLYING AROUND THE BUILDING. I could not believe what I was hearing, but truly, I could not believe it. The being "appeared" next to them, about 15 - 20 feet off the roof, 30 feet above, and began to circle, looking at them! They all said they fell silent, nobody moved. After 15 seconds, the being "loudly" flapped its wings and "gilded" west. This is when a friend present at the party took out his camera and filmed it. Please see the video attached.

The being then disappeared 100+ feet ]above what looked to be the intersection of Broadway and Halsted streets, about 0.4 miles away.

1981 CHICAGO MOTHMAN INCIDENT May Help Explain the Phenomenon

I was contacted by an eyewitness who, as a child of 13 years of age, had a remarkable encounter with a winged humanoid in Cicero, IL. The year was 1981 and the witness, who I will refer to as 'MR', experienced a life-changing event.

This is from a previous post. Since the Unsolved Mysteries episode was released, I thought that I would repost this account:

The witness MR contacted me by email and asked to speak by telephone. I instantly had the sense that this interview would be significant, so I requested MR call me at his earliest convenience. We talked within 10 minutes.

MR introduced himself and immediately started to tell me his account. He prefaced his story by saying that he had not known of the winged humanoid sightings reported throughout the Chicago metro area until he stumbled upon an article two days previous. He was stunned by the revelations in the article; dozens of sightings that closely resembled his encounter in Cicero in 1981. But MR's narrative was different because his encounter with the winged humanoid altered his overall beliefs and perspective of the world.

MR was a 13-year-old boy in 1981 who, through his own description, had suffered terrible abuse during his young life. On this particular evening, like many previous evenings, he sought solitude in his backyard. For whatever reason, he was able to employ a self-taught form of meditation that helped him cope with the abuse by his parents. As he sat on the grass, he entered into a deep level of spiritual awareness that had become more heightened than he had ever remembered. He soon became aware of an unknown presence. As he exited his meditative state, he immediately noticed a pair of intense red eyes staring back at him from across the alleyway.

The being was standing against the neighbor's white garage, about 75 feet from where MR was sitting. It was a thin black human shape that stood 7 feet in height when compared to the 4-foot high chained-linked fence at the end of his yard. There were wings folded on its back that extended above its long thin head. But those intense red eyes captured MR's concentration, to the point where he was literally paralyzed and frozen in place. The being was soon communicating with MR, in a telepathic form; more intent on garnering his attention than actually expressing information. The 5-7 minute experience was suffused with an assortment of emotions, that ranged from tranquility to terror. MR recognized that he was not dreaming or in a reflective state; this was actually occurring. That was the moment when his perspective of the world around him changed forever.

He never forgot the encounter, and it influenced his life; though he was reluctant to disclose the incident until he started college and became part of an environment that would pay attention to what he had to say and not judge his experience. But MR still did not understand why he was the recipient of the winged humanoid's scrutiny. Then one evening, while he and his wife were watching a video, MR began to appreciate and grasp what had happened to him in 1981.

'The Mothman Prophecies' is a theatrical film that was released in 2002. It is based on John Keel's book by the same title, even though the movie never really captured the full intensity of the book or the actual events that occurred in Point Pleasant, WV in 1966-67. Nonetheless, the film gave an overall impression of the story and some of the narrative that Keel expressed in the book. MR told me that he was sitting at home watching the video when the car accident scene unfolded. The winged being suddenly came into focus and MR instantly went into sheer panic and uncontrollably burst into tears. His wife tried to comfort him, but he was beyond consolation. They continued to watch the video, but it was a terribly difficult experience for MR. Later that evening, he disclosed his boyhood encounter in detail with his wife. Since that time, he has not talked to anyone about the incident; until we talked today.

I would first like to state that my interview with MR was one of the most insightful I've experienced during my time as an investigator. We connected on a rare level, to the point where I could literally predict what he was going to say to me in each sentence. His experience confirmed to me that this phenomenon is not that of an indigenous being, but instead a flesh & blood extra-dimensional and/or extra-terrestrial entity that is either attracted to certain persons or summoned by specific forces. MR had no previous inclination of my theories but rather defined what I had begun to believe during the investigation.

He also brought up, and totally discounted, the general speculation by many that this was a harbinger of future events. I asked MR if he thought that, while he was in a state of meditation, the being could have possibly been a self-manifesting thought form. He believes, that in his case, the being sought him out because of the abuse he had suffered through his parents. As he began to read the recent sighting descriptions in the Chicago metro area, he formulated that there may indeed be more than one winged being and that many of the witnesses came upon it by happenstance. But he also feels that some of the encounters occurred because the being sought out the witness for a specific reason. MR didn't sense that the winged humanoid was evil, but believed that it was an ancient being that had sought out others in the past and that it is the venerable entity that people since have referred to as a 'demon.'

I forwarded my book Mothman Dynasty: Chicago's Winged Humanoids[image error] to MR in the hope that he may offer more information on this being. I'd like for him to read about the investigation that is detailed in the book, as well as understand the historical significance of this anomaly. It is my hope that MR's personal perspective may assist us in our continued desire to explain the winged humanoid phenomena. Lon

KC-135 Pilot Describes UFO ENCOUNTER on Flight to Loring AFB, Maine (VIDEO)

In a 2013 video released by Michael Wallace, a KC-135 pilot tells a story from 1975 at Loring AFB, Maine about his UFO encounter during a return flight to base after air-to-air refueling.

“I'm going to tell you an incredible story that I have first-hand information on. The story begins at Loring Air Force Base and northern Maine near Limestone in 1975. The 42nd Bomb Wing consisted of two air-fueling squadrons and a bomber squadron. The mission was to support emergency war orders armed with nuclear weapons. I'd like to give you some background about the UFOs over Loring before we get into the details of the formation flight.

A couple of weeks or maybe even as few as a couple of days before this particular formation flight, a meeting was called by the 42nd Bomb Wing for all the flight crews...all three of the flying squadrons to be held with the alert facility. This was unusual. It was the first time that it happened to me and all the time that I had been there so I was kind of curious as to what this was going to be about. So at the beginning of the meeting, a uniformed Major says "Listen if you don't have the security clearance of at least secret you need to leave." There were only a couple people that got up of a couple hundred people that were there. That Major started off by saying "If you haven't heard, there has been a UFO reported over the base"...over the nuclear-armed B-52s that are on alert over the nuclear weapons storage facilities that had nuclear weapons stored at them at this time. So it was a very serious situation and that's what this meeting was all about. "It's hovering without making any sound. It does have a few lights. It can move very quickly, unconventionally, rapid straight-line movements with straight vertical movements, and turn without any apparent radius in the turn. So it's a pretty incredible technology. The wing staff is pretty concerned about it so they have notified SAC headquarters and we were told, don't talk to anybody about it. If you have one of these incidents. You can talk to us and have a debriefing but outside of this room, don't talk about it. We're also concerned that the local press is going to get wind of all the extra ground forces and the fighters that we're bringing in to help us deal with this issue, so we're going to tell them that there's a Canadian helicopter crossing the border and harassing us. So I think that's pretty incredible, but that's the background for the story that I'm going to tell you."

We had departed Loring earlier in the day. It was a nighttime refueling mission. There were three KC-135s in this formation. I was the aircraft commander on the number two aircraft in this three-airplane formation. Tanker formations were referred to as 'cell flights.' There was a lot of vertical separation and a lot of horizontal separation. There was none of this high flying like the fighters do, this kind of stuff. Now we were way, way vertically clear, I think, a thousand feet, and I don't know, half a mile, maybe, you know, so it wasn't very much fun. It was just kind of boring actually to be in a formation flight and tanker, however, the mission was pretty routine. I don't remember. It was unremarkable in almost every way until we started back and that's where the fun begins, that's where the action happens.

So we are coming back from a refueling mission somewhere south of New York offshore a little ways and I believe it was with F4 Phantoms. Just a routine training mission for both the Phantoms and for us, so as we are somewhere close, I think somewhere between Bangor and Portland, northbound coming back to Loring Air Force Base. The command post at Loring contacted us which was not routine but not completely out of the ordinary. But when they asked the aircraft commander of the cell leader, the aircraft commander of the number one tanker, to change radio frequencies to standby, they had an important radio call that they wanted to talk to him about. That was pretty unusual. So it didn't take me long to say, "Hey, you know, I think one of my spare radios is good so let's see what this guy is going to get briefed on." So I tuned in. Number three tanker, probably with the same curiosity, did the same thing, I'm sure. And we're listening to the command post telling the cell formation leader, "Listen, the UFO is over the base again, right now, and we want you to pass off the leadership of the formation of the cell flight, to the number two aircraft, and then we want you, then, for one aircraft, to turn your lights out too, radios off and head straight to the base at your own discretion, out to airspeed, path whatever, at your own discretion"...which is unusual, very unusual to hear that. Incredible, as a matter of fact, so I was quite shocked.

So the cell leader acknowledges and says, "Will do." So the next thing you know, I'm getting a call from him. He contacted me and said, "Listen, I just got special orders, I have to depart the formation. You're going to take over the leadership of the cell. Let the navigators coordinate our positions when you're ready, you got it." So when the navs did that, I was convinced that we were where they said we were. I could see some of the city, I knew we were close. I trusted the nav and off we went to the initial approach fix and the aircraft commander of the number one tanker turns his lights off, don't hear any more communication, so he's now radio silent. In the moonlight, I could see his silhouette and down he descended into the darkness heading straight for Loring Air Force Base. Would have loved to have traded places with them. So number two, now, the old number three, and number two, and I, started the initial approach fix which is quite a ways south of the south end of runway 36. Runway 36 lands to the north, so going straight to the base is a lot faster and everything is...everything unfolds with that aircraft as he approaches the base.

Well, before I make it through the initial approach fix, I start hearing tower channel frequency communications that are really exciting. I've heard some combat radio discussions during some bomb strikes with F4s so, you know I can recognize a little stress in the voices and there was definitely stress on these voices. I wouldn't call it panicked but it was bordering on frantic. They're talking about, "Did you see it? Where is it now? Which way did it go? Oh my god, there it goes and it's down on this end of the runway, it's over east Loring, no it's back over the alert bombers" and that kind of communication, back and forth, quite a few different people talking on the tower frequency. I don't believe I could hear the tanker's crew members chiming in. I'm not sure I would have recognized them, maybe. Maybe I would have. I do know that when the tankers at elevation, the KC-135 is set elevation their radar forward, forward-looking radar was at a 240-mile range. I'm not sure what it is, it's substantially reduced at ground level and they were flying in really, really low I believe. So the fact that they lost radar contact with the UFO in almost an instant is remarkable in itself and then they said, I did hear the communication say something to the effect that we've lost it and then as quickly as the communications, it's starting on tower frequency, they ended.

So that was kind of the end of the excitement and my wingman and I continued our normal approach through runway 36, we broke up the formation, I guess, after we hit the initial approach fix, so I landed. A couple minutes later the second airplane landed and taxied in. It's the middle of the night, and there's not a lot of action going on at the base we can see we proceed to our squadron's normal debriefing room, have a couple of beers, fill out some paperwork and we're dying to talk to somebody that knew anything about what just happened out on the base. We couldn't find anybody that either knew it or dared talk about it so that was kind of the end of that night. The tanker that had departed the formation and gone off to chase the UFO was absent from the briefing room when we got there and then all of a sudden I realized that, well, he must be debriefing the Major, the same Major that gave that meeting that I talked about earlier however the story gets even a little bit more bizarre.

I see the aircraft commander of the first tanker. I'm not going to say his name. I've almost slipped a couple of times but I don't have permission to get him involved in my UFO story. So I'm not gonna say the name. I see him walking along in front of the base exchange the PX over at Loring, just a couple of days after the flight I believe. So I pulled my truck over got out and went running over to him and I said, "What the hell happened that night with that UFO" he looked at me and said "I can't talk about it. I can't talk about it. You wouldn't believe me if I could talk about it." So that's the end of the story and it is incredible. It is. That's as true as I can remember. It's been a long time but I had a lot of experience at the time of that incident and I've had a lot of experience in the cockpits after that experience, but I've never had anything as incredible as that happen.”

Abducted/Intimate Contact With TALL DARK-SKINNED FEMALE HUMANOID!

An Arkansas man details his abduction by tall, dark-skinned humanoids. He later experienced another abduction that included intimate contact with a female humanoid of the same species.

I received the following account:

"This email is in regards to abductions I experienced when I lived on a farm in the Ozarks near Jasper, Arkansas.

The experience I remember vividly occurred one late night in March 1999. I was alone at the time and in the middle of sleep. I woke up and saw the that there were two humanoid beings in the room. I could sense that one was a male and the other female. The male was tucking me in bed. It was a dark-skinned figure around 7+ feet in height with pointed ears. I could not make out a face. I was not afraid, but somehow felt that everything was fine. The other being, that I could sense was female, was standing at the doorway to the bedroom. Then I fell back asleep as he was tucking me in. Maybe a week or so later I noticed a scoop mark on my right hip, about an inch in circumference. The mark is still there.

I had seen activity in the sky prior to that night. On one night, here were many white lights moving quickly around in the sky. I foolishly took my flashlight and pointed it up at the sky to see if there would be a response. Well, one started coming closer to the house from where I was shining the light. I was so freaked out by that and ran into the house and turned off all the lights.

In April 2001, there was a later occasion when I experienced an abduction and intimate contact. The experience was somewhat vague, but it did include a sexual encounter with a dark-skinned female humanoid that looked very human. The female's physical features were a bit different than a normal female human, in particular the point ears and a strange skin texture that had a 'liquid-like' sensation to the touch. The next day, when I woke, I had intense pain and redness in my groin. I was so bad, that I need to go to a physician, though I never told him of my experience. I was diagnosed as having severe testicular inflammation, which required a 2-day stay in a hospital. The inflammation eventually healed and has not caused me any further problems.

My wife and I have conceived 3 children since that event, and I have since had a fear that my children may eventually experience similar abductions in the future.

I had a connection with these humanoid beings since I was young. There was missing time when I was 10 to 11 years old. I remember going to bed and my bed was centered in front of a window on the second floor. I shared a room with my two younger brothers. I closed my eyes to go to sleep. I just blinked them open and it was the next day. Maybe it was something other than lost time, but I never had anything like that happen to me since. I remember telling my mom about it after I woke up and how strange it was to me, but she did not think anything of it. But I still remember that. I have always had dreams about seeing UFOs, though I don't know how much that has to do with the abductions. I never remember going into a craft...though i know I was at a remarkable location.

U-28 Captain & Officer Witnessed HUGE SEA CREATURE!

Following a military engagement with the British steamer Iberian off the southwest coast of Ireland, an encounter resulted in the steamer’s destruction via German torpedo. The captain and officers of the U-28 Schmidt bore witness to an unknown sea creature.

The Captain of the submarine, Commander Freiherr Georg-Günther von Forstner, who was known as 'The Baron Pirate' described the encounter:

"On July 30, 1915, our U-28 torpedoed the British steamer Iberian, which was carrying a rich cargo across the North Atlantic. The steamer sank so swiftly that its bow stuck up almost vertically into the air. Moments later the hull of the Iberian disappeared. The wreckage remained beneath the water for approximately twenty-five seconds, at a depth that was clearly impossible to assess, when suddenly there was a violent explosion, which shot pieces of debris - among them a gigantic aquatic animal - out of the water to a height of approximately 80 feet."

"At that moment I had with me in the conning tower six of my officers of the watch, including the chief engineer, the navigator, and the helmsman. Simultaneously we all drew one another's attention to this wonder of the seas, which was writhing and struggling among the debris. We were unable to identify the creature, but all of us agreed that it resembled an aquatic crocodile, which was about 60 feet long, with four limbs resembling large webbed feet, a long, pointed tail, and a head that also tapered to a point. Unfortunately, we were not able to take a photograph, for the animal sank out of sight after ten or fifteen seconds."

Submarine captains are not known to be prone to exaggeration, leading to a conclusion that he would not detail such an encounter in any other way but had happened. There would be no known reason to concoct such a remarkable story knowing that most people who report strange creatures are generally met with only ridicule.

Some investigators have theorized that this encounter could indicate a surviving specimen of pliosaurs or mosasaurs, both of which are thought to have resembled giant crocodiles. The fossil record of these creatures also seems to indicate that their spines were very flexible, which could account for the more serpentine-like movement of the creature.

A handful of researchers have suggested that this creature may have been transported by the steamer, only to be released into the ocean when the ship exploded. They have stated that any creature swimming in the ocean probably keeps its distance from a naval engagement due to gunfire. The creature, to have been blown out of the water upon the Iberian's explosion, would have had to be swimming almost directly over the sinking ship. Though it's an interesting argument, I'm not sure a British steamer would be transporting a 60-foot aquatic creature across the Atlantic. There would have been a record of the cargo at the original port.

Perhaps one day the discovery of a creature similar to that described by the crew of the U-28 may shed some light on this encounter, and bring us closer to understanding the unknown ocean frontier.

RONNY LeBLANC: Why He Left 'Expedition: Bigfoot' (VIDEO)

Viewers who tuned in to the August 14, Season 5 premiere of 'Expedition: Bigfoot' noticed that one series mainstay, Ronny LeBlanc, was conspicuously absent. This is why.

So, why was LeBlanc not present in the program's new episodes? As it turns out, the paranormal specialist exited Expedition: Bigfoot following Season 4. This is due to a sense of personal disgust that LeBlanc has felt over a specific situation regarding teenage cryptozoology enthusiast Daniel Lee Barnett.

Barnett ran a podcast called 'Mythical Legends,' a show that chronicled the boy’s ongoing quest for evidence of Bigfoot and his fellow cryptids. He was also filming a documentary in the UK entitled My Bigfoot Life.

In recent weeks, the 15-year-old had come under fire from various Bigfoot circles for allegedly falsifying DNA evidence.

Ronny LeBlanc, being heavily entrenched in the study of cryptids himself, posted a lengthy statement to Instagram in response to this controversy. According to LeBlanc, this ordeal is what prompted him to walk away from 'Expedition: Bigfoot':

"Yes, I am no longer a part of ‘Expedition: Bigfoot’. I chose to leave for a multitude of reasons and secondly, what’s transpired in the past 48 hours concerning Daniel Lee Barnett out of the UK. 15-year-old kid who is now being attacked by people, being accused of faking E-DNA evidence. All of you should be really ashamed of yourselves, quite frankly. This is a kid that’s coming into the field and probably gonna exit it now because of all this bullsh*t."

LeBlanc expanded on his comments, remarking that it was "just disappointing" to witness the treatment of Barnett when the Bigfoot community should have been "supporting each other:"

"People need to own up to things and realize that you’re attacking a 15-year-old autistic kid from the UK. Who now who knows what’s gonna happen now? But it’s just disappointing to hear and see all this crap going on in the Bigfoot community where everyone should be supporting each other. But yet we’re starting to see this deteriorate. So, I’m just disgusted with what’s been going on. This is why you have independent researchers who are doing their own thing outside of the community and not being accepted by them because you have stuff like this. So, there’s a couple people and I’m not gonna name names, but you know who you are, and you need to stop the sh*t right now."

LeBlanc responded to a comment on the social media post questioning whether he was pushed out of 'Expedition: Bigfoot' due to his ideas getting rejected by others on the series. But LeBlanc flat-out denied any such thing, noting that "it was my decision:"

"Nope…it was my decision. And it was the best one. Had the summer with my family. Can’t replace that with anything."

Our 'BROWN MAN' Encounter on the Appalachian Trail!

A father, son, and their dog are hiking on the Appalachian Trail. That evening they stopped to spend the night at a shelter. Then, an encounter with an unknown being occurs. Later, the realization sets in!

I received the following account:

"My event was in the mid-eighties, including my son and our dog Ginger. When we had our encounter we were at a shelter on the Appalachian Trail in Amherst County, Va. It was the Cow Camp Gap shelter. It was early December and very cold. It would get below 10 degrees that night.

I am comfortable in the woods and teaching my son skills needed to survive is a LIFE SKILL like swimming. It's good 'father-son' time.

We arrived at the shelter shortly before dark and made a fire for warmth and hot food. The shelter faces south and has a spring-fed stream separating the shelter from the AT. The AT runs with an old narrow road separating and climbing north to the top of Cole Mountain.

My son and I were in good spirits sitting, talking, and playing with Ginger.

Ginger saw the figure coming out of the late twilight walking north. It was a surprise that anyone would be at that location since the closest house was a hard three or four miles from the shelter. The figure came within 100 feet. The thing was tall and wore a dark brown "fur coat". I was aware of Ginger's barking changing to something I had never heard from her before that event, or after. Without thinking I called out to the figure to come over and have some hot drink. That's when things got very difficult to explain

First, the creature turned to face us. Its face looked human in shape but not human in appearance. It turned its whole body. When the creature looked at us, Ginger's barking changed. Her hind legs appeared uncontrolled. Her sounds were not barking sounds but a gurgling noise. She was in great pain! I momentarily focused on Ginger reaching down to her which did not stop her suffering! I looked to the creature who returned to continuing its long, athletic strides, taking it out of sight very quickly. Ginger resumed barking her aggression warning, but not the same as before the thing had turned to face us.

My son said, "Dad, what just happened to Ginger"? I was thinking what did that thing do to Ginger when it was 100 feet away? I was not fearful and Ginger was a "handful of Golden Retriever."

We spent a cold night with Ginger at alert the entire time. When we made our way to the warmth of my car the next morning Ginger curled up with my son in the back seat and slept the three-hour drive home.

It would be eight years later before I returned to the area. Ginger refused to follow me off Cole Mountain south towards the Cow Camp Gap shelter. When I got close to the woods half a mile north of the shelter, Ginger sat with ears perked refusing my efforts to get her to come to me.

I decided I would not go without Ginger.

Fifteen years later while on a Sunday drive to the town of Buena Vista, Virginia, a small town about fifteen miles from the AT shelter, I would have a conversation with a teenage waitress. I mentioned my frequent visits to the Mt. Pleasant Trail area. She said I should be careful and not go alone to Cole Mt., because about the time she was born, her uncles had seen something while they were deer hunting that had scared them so badly they would never hunt or go back to that area. SHE WAS SIXTEEN, THE TIME FIT!

I've since learned that the area had a fall and winter with dogs making a lot of noise at night with a large number going missing. A calf went missing without a trace. The owner was uncommitted as to what was going on but said his grandfather had a story about the BROWN MAN. He had not seen anything, but neighbors had.

Something dreadful happened at that shelter in August of 2011. A hiker was found dead and half buried! It's now April of 2016. I have not heard of an arrest!

I am interested if there are any similar accounts of these THINGS harming dogs. I am a skeptic looking for an explanation for Ginger's actions OTHER than Bigfoot having mind control capability over dogs. And maybe humans too!" Bob

Federal authorities have offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of the death of A.T. hiker Scott Lilly in Virginia last summer

Amherst, VA - The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever killed Scott A. Lilly, 30, of South Bend, Ind., last summer near the Appalachian Trail in central Virginia.

FBI Special Agent Steve Duenas, the lead investigator, also disclosed at a news conference on April 23 that Lilly “was buried.” Hikers found his “partially buried” body on August 12, another agent said, along a side trail to Cow Camp Gap Shelter in George Washington–Jefferson National Forest in Amherst County, almost five miles north of the U.S. 60 Trailhead.

Duenas said Lilly’s last known contact was from the shelter on July 31. He was not identified until August 16. That shelter is about 0.6 miles east of the A.T. along the Old Hotel Trail, which loops around and rejoins the A.T. again about two miles north.

A state medical examiner in January ruled the death a homicide and said the cause was “asphyxia by suffocation,” noted Mike Morehart, special agent-in-charge of the FBI’s Richmond office, who announced the reward.

Most of Lilly’s gear has not been recovered, he said, including new trail shoes (Walmart’s Ozark Trail brand), a blue or purple backpack, a Nintendo game, and “an A.T. handbook.”

Lilly used the Trail name “Stonewall.” He had begun hiking south from Maryland in late June, intending to go all the way to Springer Mountain, resupplying periodically through Walmart gift cards sent by his mother, according to his family.

Lilly’s younger sister, Alysen, joined Sheriff L.J. “Jimmy” Ayers III in urging anyone with information to call the FBI tip line at (800) 261-1044 FREE.

“He was a 30-year-old man living out a dream by hiking the A.T. and visiting Civil War battlefields…. Our family will never be the same. We need closure,” she said, telling reporters later that she thought he planned to find a new place to live in the South after his hike.

Ayers said, “Any information, even if it seems trivial, maybe the piece that solves the puzzle.”

Morehart said the combined investigative team—including National Park Service A.T. rangers, U.S. Forest Service law enforcement officers, and Virginia State Police—has conducted 83 interviews of hikers, maintainers, and others, “in multiple states and two other countries,” including all long-distance hikers known to have been in the area in that period.

Timothy J. Heaphy, U.S. attorney for the western district of Virginia, noting ATC’s involvement as well, said that “the level of cooperation on this case…is remarkable.” He stressed that his office is placing a high priority on this open case, as well as “unsolved murders” along the Blue Ridge Parkway and a 1996 killing of two women hikers away from the Trail in Shenandoah National Park, but right now he has seen no connection among them.

Duenas, declining to provide more specifics about the coroner’s report or the “many possibilities” being investigated, said the reward announcement and news conference “are part of the investigative strategy—to generate more leads,” particularly from 2011 hikers who might not have seen last August’s news reports and from 2012 hikers noticing something unusual. “I have no reason to believe the Trail is any more dangerous. Hikers just have to be aware and take all the normal precautions."
