News & Notes: Red-Eyed Winged Humanoid 'Demon' Observed in Schiller Park, Chicago, Illinois

An Hispanic woman and her mother observed, while watching from the window in a bedroom, a red-eyed winged humanoid perched on their back fence of their home in Schiller Park, Chicago.
The following report was posted by Phantoms & Monsters Fortean Research member Manuel Navarette at UFO Clearinghouse:

Date of Sighting: October 26, 2020

Date of Submission: October 29, 2020

Time of Sighting: 2100 (approximately)

Location: Schiller Park, Illinois – Suburban Chicago

Current Status: Under Investigation

Sighting Details:

"I had gone to the kitchen to make myself a cup of tea and as I was filling the kettle with water I heard my mom scream and then call out to me. I dropped what I was doing and ran to her and found her in her room with the lights off. She told me to keep the lights off and to come to the window and look out into the backyard. I looked and saw a large creature with red eyes and very large wings perched on the back fence. My mother was whispering “Es un demonio” and started praying as we watched this thing. It was perched on the fence and it was looking side to side and kept slowly moving its wings. We looked at it for about a minute before it flapped its wings and flew off."

Translation: Es un demonio = 'It’s a demon'

Investigators Notes:

I contacted the witness and was able to speak with her via phone on Wednesday evening. The witness who reported the initial sighting is a 32 year old Hispanic female and the second witness is a 67 year old Hispanic female. The witness says that it was about 2100 (9 p.m.) in the evening and she had gone to the kitchen to make herself a cup of tea. As she was preparing the kettle she heard her mother scream, which prompted her to drop what she was doing and run toward her mother's bedroom. The witness indicated that her mother has fallen before and injured herself and that is what she thought had just occurred.

Upon entering her mother's room, she found the lights off and her mother standing by the window. The mother told her to keep the lights off and to come to the window and look out into the backyard. The witness did as she asked and upon reaching the window saw what she described as a large humanoid creature perched upon back fence. She described the creature as black with large jet black wings and had human like features. When I asked her to go into detail, she said that the creature looked like what she could only describe as a demon. The creature had human like arms and legs and its head looked almost human with bright red eyes. When I pressed for more detail she advised that it was dark and she was about 25 feet away from where it was perched. She described the creature as looking around and that it was slowly moving its outstretched wings back and forth.

She said they observed the entity for about a minute before it flapped its wings and flew up and out of sight. When asked if she had grabbed her phone to take a picture, she said her phone was in her room and she did not think of going and grabbing it and that she was not going to leave her mother alone. When I asked her if I could talk to the other witness, she said her mother was hesitant to talk but eventually her mother talked to me after assurances that I would not publish her name or address.

The second witness spoke only in Spanish and said she was getting ready for bed when she looked out the window and saw the creature perched on the back fence. She said she was scared and called out to her daughter to come and then started to pray. The witness was convinced that she was seeing a demon that had come to her house and prayed for protection.

When I asked her for a description, she said that the shape of the creature and it’s posture reminded her of the depiction of demon being struck down by Saint Michael, except this one was solid black and with red eyes.

The witness said she was very uncomfortable with speaking about it for fear of the entity returning and that she felt that this creature was on a mission, one that was evil in nature but she would not expound any further.

She did mention that there were people in the neighborhood that she knew practiced Brujeria and that this thing might have something to do with it.

I thanked the witnesses and left my contact information in case they had anything follow up questions or information.

NOTE: it has not been uncommon for Hispanic witnesses to describe winged humanoids as 'demons.' That has be a common description throughout the years during our investigation. Lon

Upright Canine Observed Near Taylors Falls, Minnesota

A witness described an upright canine seemingly chasing something as he observed from the road. This was near a ski resort in Taylor Falls, Minnesota.

I received this email back in the winter of 2010. It was forwarded by a witness in Minnesota who describes a upright canine:

"Hello - I was steered to you by a man I know up north from here. He said that you are interested in these things so I figured I'd send an email.

I live in Taylors Falls, Minnesota and I was driving north on Wild Mountain Rd. around 7 am. on Jan 2nd. I was heading for the ski area when I saw some kind of animal running in the field towards the river. I pulled off the road and grabbed my binoculars. It looked like a large wolf but it was different. By that time some guy in a truck pulled up and was wondering what I was looking at. I told him that I think there is a large wolf in the field. He got out of the truck and asked to use the binoculars. He said he didn't think it was a wolf and that it looked like it was chasing something.

We stood for a few minutes watching. It would run into the woods then pop back into the field for a bit. The light was getting better so I grabbed my parka and started to walk closer to get a better look. The other guy said he had to leave but did say again that he didn't think it was a wolf.

I was about a 1/2 mile from the ski area near one of the trail roads. I started to walk towards the river. I was about 100 ft from where I saw the animal from the road when I heard an owl screech coming from the woods to my right. On the edge of the woods this huge dog came running out of the trees. The best way to describe it was that it looked like a big hyena but it ran on two back legs and bent over. It had wooly black hair all over it's body and a long thick tail. It must have weighed 200 lbs or more. I've been in the woods all my life and have never seen anything like this. It looked over at me but continued to run from right to left in front of me. It also made a steady loud panting sound as it ran.

I turned on a pivot and ran out of there hoping this animal wasn't going to chase me. When I got to the car an old man had pulled off and standing there watching me. He wondered what I was doing. I yelled at him to "get the hell out of there" and said that a monster dog was out there. I think he believed me because the look on his face showed fear like he knew something was really out there.

I didn't go to the ski area, instead I went back home all shook up and asking myself what I saw.

I read the stories about the Michigan dogman and something you had about one being seen in Wisconsin. What do you think this was? It was no wolf or any other animal native to the area.

The guy who sent me your email address told me that there was a sighting last year (2009) just west of Duluth. He said it was a hunter that came across it while tracking a deer he had shot. I don't know the details but if it looked like the animal I saw I'm sure he got the hell out of there. Thanks - J"

News & Notes: Cryptid Canine/Deer-Like Entity Encountered in Tulsa, Oklahoma (Sketch)

A Tulsa, Oklahoma couple are walking their dog late at night, when they encounter a canine/deer-like entity, first in the courtyard then in the hallway of their apartment building.

The following account and sketch were posted by a Reddit user named 'morrcannibis.' I am attempting to verify the information by contacting the witness:

My husband and I always walk the dog before bed from 10pm-1am and normally it's very dead. It has been raining here in Tulsa, Oklahoma and I was going to solo walk to the courtyard, but hubby said he would join me to be safe.

I walk ahead while he locks the door and I hear him say 'hello?' I look back and see nobody and he just catches up and doesn't say anything more. The dog and I again walk ahead and he keeps looking behind us. The courtyard to our complex has a huge grass area where the apartments surrounded it in a U-shape with stairs on the sides. No one is outside which is odd because normally at 11pm we still see our neighbors, but it is rather chilly.

My dog barks and I give him a command to be quiet and he is looking up at the roof so I turn around and look up and something is looking down on me and the dog. I feel like I was watching it for 3 mins but it is hard to explain what it looked like. It was white with hollow eyes and white arms but they weren't like human arms and its head was long, like a white dolphin head. My husband says I am not high enough for this shit and to made me look at him and when I looked back it was gone. I assumed it was my mind or maybe someone trying to scare us so I quietly walk to my husband and he pulls away and is upset, which I assume is because I made him go out in the cold (he hates the walks) so I tell him to go inside and I will let the dog finish.

It isn't raining but you can hear tin roof noises. The dog seems is kind of scared so we just head back with my husband and dog ahead and me behind a bit. Then I hear a loud band on the stairs. Our apartment is along the same hallway so I get almost to our door and turn around and I see this thing on the stairs and start walking backwards. I feel very sick and feel my anxiety kicking up an attack, so I just quickly run to our door so I can peek out and see it. I ask my husband for his phone but before he gives it to me i hear a weird noise from the opposite end of the hall from this thing. I gasped and whipped around to see the tail end of it, which looks like a hairless white deer thing and my husband just pulls me in and closes the door.

He says he got spooked when we first went out and his mind played tricks on him and he explained what he thought he saw, saying exactly what I saw. He saw it at the end of the hallway where I last saw it but when we first went out and it leaped away. Then again when I saw it looking down which is why he said he wasn't high enough for this. After my panic attack passed I explained to my husband what I think I saw. I don't know what it was but it was huge and fast."

Possible Skinwalker Chases Vehicle Near Monticello, Utah

A couple had just left Monticello, Utah along US 491 when they noticed an unknown being quickly approaching them. It eventually caught up to the car and incited terror in the witnesses.

I recently received the following account:

"In the summer of 2010, we were driving along US 491 near Monticello, Utah.

We had pulled on the shoulder in order to find something in the backseat. As I was just about finished, I took a quick glance at the road behind us and noticed in the distance, a little less than a mile, a figure on the side of the road 'hobbling' as it walked toward our vehicle. This surprised me in that we hadn't seen or passed a person since we left Monticello. As I stood there, I realized it grew in size, meaning that it was approaching at incredible speed.

I yelled at my wife, "Get ready to leave, fast!" I jumped into the passenger's side, only to find myself screaming at the top of his lungs to my wife, instructing her to, 'Go! Go! Go!" Slamming my door, I took one glance back outside the window as the car peeled off, and saw what I said can only be described as the most mangy looking human/animal I'd ever seen.

I couldn't tell if it was in rags or just a heavy-coated black animal running/hobbling very fast, as it did quickly catch up to the side of the car. The way the eyes looked struck me with terror. They were very large, almost bulging out as would a praying mantis' eyeballs, but with pinpoint pupils.

Too afraid, I looked away at his wife, who was starting to shake uncontrollably. I took the steering wheel realizing she also took a glance at this thing, her foot still flooring the accelerator.

Fortunately, we outran this thing. I always wonder if this was a skinwalker or something worse!" RV

New & Notes: Was It A Demon or Something Else?

An individual recently attempted to manifest a supernatural being through their mind. Now they are not sure what this being was.

I recently came across the following account:

I'm a rationalist who doesn't believe in good or evil, who doesn't believe in superstition or the paranormal. I'm safe inside of my own ground level small inner city house which I share-housing with 3 other guys at the time. I was completely at ease and felt comfortable, and knew with absolute certainty that nothing can hurt me.

So come midnight I decided to test my own mind. I drew open my bedroom curtains which opened to a moonlight dark alleyway. I turned my back to the window and sat at my computer. I decided to watch as many haunted house videos, ghost videos, creepy alien videos and several disjointed music-video animations. I stayed in this prolonged fear state for around 3 hours. My hands were trembling, my stomach was churning and I felt pale and cold. So it was time. I turned around and faced the window.

To my disappointment nothing was there. I turned on my bedroom light, took a few deep breaths, did a few jumping jacks and shook out my hands. I felt my system returning to normal and I had the thought, 'what a waste of time, I should really start moving a bit before going to bed.' So I decided to step into the hallway and turn on the light. I walked through the dark dining room, past the 6 person dining table into the kitchen and turned on the light. I had a pile of dirty dishes I still needed to do, so I filled up the sink with warm water and started scrubbing them. At this stage I felt like my system had returned to about 80% normal, but I still felt a little uneasy.

While doing the dishes I kept looking up at the kitchen window. I was expecting to see a scary face at the window with a loud violin noise from a horror movie or something, but still nothing. My body had returned to almost normal but my mind was still primed for fear. Sigh, anyway time for bed soon, I had almost done with the dishes. That's when, in the corner of my eye, I see a something moving. A housemate? No. It was much shorter, a humanoid under 5 foot tall and slowly walking into the dining room. It made no noise at all, and was indistinguishable from reality. It walked slowly past the dining table into the full light of the kitchen and got to about 4 feet away from me.

Description: It had long arms. When it walked its wrists dragged the ground. It had light orange or tan colored skin that looked smooth with very few skin speckles. It had short legs and pot belly, and it's belly was slightly wider than it's chest. Its head was half the size of it's entire torso and its head hung in-front of its body. It had no eyes, no nose and no mouth. Its head was just a smooth, quite large and elongated, skin covered skull, which was perfectly counterbalanced by its pot-belly and long arms and hands which dragged behind it. I don't remember what its feet looked like, but its legs made up around 30% of its total body height, and its round belly hanging around half way down its thighs. It's knees were always in a bent position. It had no hair and was entirely naked. Was it a demon or something else?

Rewinding a little. By the time I had turned my head it had completely stepped out of the hallway into the dim lit dining room. It walked from one end of the dining table to the other, which is where the kitchen began. I said the words, 'I'm not ready to see this... I'm not ready to see this!' While I took 3 steps backwards and hit my back against the large clock which was hanging up against the wall. The clock made a clang vibration noise and it disappeared instantaneously. I don't recall even blinking.

About 2 seconds after it disappeared I felt this sense of relief wash over my body, and this sense of calm. I was in absolute awe, and was impressed that I could hallucinate something so incredibly vivid it indistinguishable from reality. From the time I sensed it moving to the time it disappeared, I estimate took just over 5 seconds. I sometimes think back to this 'test of my mind' and think, if that clock wasn't hanging on the wall, how close would it have gotten to me? Also, what if I had walked towards it instead of backwards? I don't know if I will ever have the spiritual framework to be ready for encounters like this. It could have touched me, but didn't react to me at all." D

Black Eyed Kids: 'Let Them In,' Creepy Phone Call & 2 Boys Kidnapped by BEKs!

3 strange BEK related accounts. One witness let's them in the door. Another is a very creepy phone call. And finally, 2 boys seem to have been kidnapped by BEKs.

Here are 3 very bizarre black-eyed kids accounts:

"Most people say they can sense when something is about to happen. Something feels off, or wrong. Maybe, If that was the case, this never would have occurred. Maybe I wouldn't be typing this story.

It was late, but I couldn't sleep. Something in my mind was stuck in the 'on' position and refused to budge. After an hour tossing around under my sheets, I accepted the futility and moved myself into the front room. It had to be about 2am, the television volume on low playing some older sitcom I was barely aware of. I was on the couch, sleepily watching the ceiling fan. I was pretty calm, despite the late hour and my fatigue.

It was the knock on my front door that jarred me from my position. I wasn't really suspicious as much as curious. I lived in a relatively well off neighborhood, I had no reason to be scared. At first.

I looked through the peephole. Nothing. I opened the door, leaving the chain lock intact. Nothing. I gave up and returned to my place on the couch. I think this time, I dozed off, putting the knock down to my restless mind. Really, I had made it up, a figment of my imagination. That is, until it happened again.

It was maybe 3am by the time I opened the door. I was met by something you all know, and fear. At the time, I had no idea. All I saw in front of me were two sad, helpless children.

"Hello," The first one said, "We're lost. It's so late. Can we please come in? We have to call our parents."

He seemed so articulate. So smart for a child. He was dressed in such snappy attire, it didn't once cross my mind something might be wrong. I just didn't notice the eyes. Somehow, my mind skipped right over that detail.

The younger one, a girl, stood with her head down. She was dressed down compared to her brother. She wore her dark hair in pigtails, and it was just so long.

Something in me was screaming to shut the door, yet I resisted. Two small children alone, with no help. I must help them. It was the only moral and ethical decision. While you turned them away, I invited them inside.

At first, they seemed surprised. They had been expecting to have the door shut in their face, they couldn't remember the last time it had been so easy.

They won't hurt you, I promise. They're just lonely, they have no parents to take care of them. We must help these poor black eyed children. They're just lost, alone, and afraid. Besides, you see much better with eyes as black as theirs. You would understand, if you let them in, too. " JJ

"My friend and I were sitting up one night having one of our insomnia talks. It's around 3 AM and our topic switches to one of my favorite things to talk about...paranormal and cryptids. He says the thing he has heard about that he does not believe in at all but it creeps him out are the stories of black eyed children. I ask what they are, but he says that if he is going to sleep at all that night, he isn't going to go into detail and I should look them up the next day when I am not planning on going to sleep any time soon.

I get home from work the next day around 8 pm and start looking up stories about these children and creeping myself out. An hour or so later my cell phone rings. Caller ID on the screen says Private Number. I answer and on the other end a child asks me "Why did you call?" Chills immediately run down the back of my neck and down my arms and I reply "I didn't call anyone." The child then says "Yes you did. Why did you call?" I tell it that I didn't call anyone, and not to call me again and promptly hang up. I immediately checked each window and door and sat there on my couch for a few minutes mentally replaying what I think is the creepiest thing that has ever happened to me." JL

"It was the 1970’s and my sons were aged 9 and 7, I was a single mother and worked two jobs. We lived in an old farmhouse on the outskirts of town, we had just moved in and didn’t know our neighbors very well. The main reason I picked this house was for the large backyard, and my sons started spending all of their free time out there. I often only saw my sons for a moment in the morning, and at night to tuck them in, they looked out for each other a lot.

One day I came home a bit late and my sons were still up reading comics, which wasn’t unusual. What was unusual was how excited they were, they had a story to tell me. They told me about their new friends, two boys about their age that lived next door. I was pretty upset, they knew not to talk to strangers. My sons told me they wanted to come inside the house, but my older son wouldn’t let them. I told them they weren’t allowed outside until I had met their new friends, and put them to bed.

The weekend came, and as far as I know my sons hadn’t gone outback. We went to the neighbors house and introduced ourselves, they didn’t have any kids though. I assumed that my boys had mixed up what direction their friends came from, and went to our opposite neighbor’s house. They had kids, but they were girls a bit younger than my sons. Maybe they live further down the street, I thought.

I figured this was as good a time as any to meet the neighbors, and we worked our way down the street. There were some old people, young couples, and two families with about 8 children each. Even though we had met about 5 boys my sons’ age, they hadn’t met before. They hit it off though, and my sons stayed for the rest of the day and played in their backyard. I started my way back down the street to get dinner started.

When I got back home I felt like something was off. I wasn’t used to being home alone, my sons were always home. I started dinner, but still felt weird, a little scared. Something caught my eye out in the darkening yard. My sons were out in the backyard on the swings, but I still felt worried. I went out there to tell them they weren’t allowed outside, even though I had lifted the grounding earlier that day. Then I realized they weren’t my sons.

The two boys got off the swings and faced me, and I immediately noticed something awful. Their eyes were pure black, they seemed to have no soul, no humanity. I stood on the back patio paralyzed, just staring into their eyes. The boys were about a hundred feet from me and started walking towards me. Not a muscle in me would move, I couldn’t break eye contact with them. “Excuse me, miss. Can we use your phone?” the older one asked me. I screamed no, and managed to run in the house.

The boys were at the back door knocking slowly and rhythmically, I was terrified. Then I saw my sons walking up the side of the house, towards the boys with black eyes. I ran to the window on the side of the house and told my sons to run, they laughed and continued around the corner. My younger son saw the two boys and greeted them, the boys with black eyes turned and said “Tell her to let us in.” My son yelled for me to open the door. I was just sobbing and didn’t know what to do.

My sons seemed completely unfazed by the boys with black eyes. I screamed for the boys with black eyes to leave us alone. Just as I did this, there was a knock at the front door. I rushed to the entryway, foolishly leaving my sons alone. I opened the door and there was a police officer. He was with the parents of the family whose house my sons had played at earlier. The wife was crying and the police officer told me that my sons had gone missing. I told him there were intruders in the backyard.

I quickly led the police officer to the back door, but the two monsters and my sons were no where to be seen. The glass in the door broke from how hard I slammed it open, I ran out into the yard sobbing. Then I heard my younger son’s voice, he screamed for me from the back of the yard, I saw him for a moment by the fence. There was a hole in the fence and one of the boys with black eyes pulled my son through it. The police officer shouted for them to stop, as he rushed to the fence.

It was too late, my boys were gone. That was the last time I ever saw my sons.

This story was told to me by a neighbor, she wouldn’t say if it happened to her or not. She would be about the right age for it though, she lived alone, and had no kids. I told the story from a first person perspective so I could write it better." MK

Appalachian 'Wolf Thing' vs 'Captain, the Black Bear'

This is a tale of confrontation between 2 beasts in the North Carolina mountains. 'Wolf Thing' vs 'Captain, the Black Bear.'

I came across the following interesting account:

This was not a report I myself witnessed but instead one my grandmother told me about that my aunt later corroborated independently so I think they're trustworthy. At the time I'll note there wasn't much talk of "dogmen" as this was about a decade before the infamous song came out, though there was talk of wolves or werewolf like monsters in Appalachia for a long time so my aunt and grandmother just always called it "That wolf thing/creature".

For a little background my grandparents', currently aunt's, home is in backwoods of western Grayson county Virginia, which to this day is still sparsely populated outside of one or two large towns on the east side; and back then it was even less so. Extremely thick forest with hilly terrain in all directions. You have to get on a dirt path and follow it for about half a mile to get to a gravel covered side road, and then follow it for about 30 minutes to reach a very small town just across the North Carolina border. If you go a short ways North you find yourself at the Blue Ridge mountains and parkway that lead up into Appalachia proper. The forest is mostly low-lying shrubs up to around 4 feet high with pine and a lot of black oak trees making up the canopy. There is a very clear stream about 30 yards from the house which has fish quite frequently. This along with wild blackberries, tender leaf shrubs, and some apple trees make it very lucrative for wildlife. The house itself is an old two-story house built onto an incline of the hill that overlooks it. This was back in the 1970s, my aunt believes it was 1978 as she was finishing high school at the time.

My father had graduated from college and was going on to the Air Force, so he had already moved out. My grandfather, although he was old enough to retire, liked to remain busy so he worked his old job as an electrician and power pole technician; just now in an advisory role because he was getting up there in years. He had just gotten the contract down in North Carolina so he was away from the house for about a week and a half. This left only my 17-year-old aunt and grandmother at the house.

As I said there usually was a lot of wildlife in the area. A typical morning for my grandmother was making breakfast and sitting out on her porch watching deer and rabbits eat at the shrubs. Sometimes she would also see or hear a bobcat, fox, or coyote about. On one occasion a mountain lion and her cups strolled right past the house. One animal she was familiar with in particular was a very large black bear who could be recognized by folks around those parts from a white patch on his chest and a hole in his left ear. My grandmother nicknamed him "Captain" because he had a habit of sitting on his haunches and reaching up with his paws to pick apples, a motion that looked like he was saluting. Captain was a very big black bear but wasn't very aggressive unless tested. He seemed to have an agreement with my grandmother and grandfather that if they left him alone he would leave them alone. He'd just strolled by the house every now and then to have some blackberries on the bushes or apples that had fallen down, which meant he came by the house's yards often as he was too big to climb trees much more and the fruit trees around the house were low enough he could reach up and pick food. My grandfather guesstimated he was somewhere in the 500 to 600-pound range and roughly 6 feet tall as my grandfather once measured some scratch marks he left on a tree.

During the week my grandmother noticed a fairly sharp decline in the animals nearby. It was the latter part of summer in a wet season so most of the plants were full-bloom and the leaves were at their tenderest, yet she couldn't see hide nor hair of any rabbits or dear coming to graze. A coyote she had her yapping every night for the past month seemed to vanish. A few neighbors (by neighbors I mean people who lived within 5 miles) who stopped by told her something had taken their dog and their chicken coop had been smashed into. They assumed the mountain lion that lurked about had done it since it was the only other thing that could feasibly take down a large farm dog as they had seen Captain, the only other predator nearby big enough to take down a 80+lb farm dog, the day after in a completely different area gorging himself on a dead deer.

They checked around the couldn't find anything. The next night my grandmother was woken up by my aunt who told her that she heard something bang against the outside of her wall. They checked around in the morning after and found one of the deer butchered with a bloody smear on the wall. Judging from the way the gravel was disturbed, the deer had been walking by the house when something ambushed it and in the struggle, it got smacked against the wall. My grandmother, having grown up in the woods, was familiar with predator kills and methods. Mountain lions tend to jump on the back and rake their claws across the flanks to hold on as they bite the neck, black bears will usually break the neck or the back with their paws while biting the head, and the rare occasions coyotes attack deer they usually do it by biting down on the inside of the leg and twisting to rip the muscle and arteries. This kill clearly had the throat ripped out, but there weren't any claw marks to be found and the bite looked narrower than what a cougar would do. Plus she could gander there was only one predator from the way the ground had been disturbed, which didn't make sense for coyotes as they typically hunted in pairs since just one alone isn't usually enough to bring down a full grown deer.

After disposing of the carcass the next few nights were relatively uneventful except for the fact several times my aunt or grandmother would be woken up in the middle of the night by the sound of something panting outside. Now in these woods you can hear a pin drop if it's close enough and at some points, they could swear the animal making the painting was directly outside the wall. One day my grandmother was picking some berries when she noticed what looked like dog tracks of a very large hound going through a mud flat bordering the nearby stream. Thinking it might be the missing farm dog who had maybe just run away, she followed the tracks until she heard something loudly growling at her from across the stream.

She looked up to see the partially obscured face of what look like on large, bulky, brown colored coyote or wolf standing in a thicket on the other side of the stream. She quickly began to back away, glancing back only to check her footing on the slope that led down to the stream. When she looked back she saw the very distinctly canine face in much greater detail because the animal had moved out from under cover. But instead of stepping out of the leaves like she thought it did at first, she soon noticed that it was instead standing up on its hind legs and peering over the shrubs. Now she had seen canines stand upright before. Dogs do it, foxes can do it, coyotes sometimes do it. It was the size that took her off guard. She had been to that exact same thicket of shrubs just the other day and her head only just barely reached the top, and my grandmother was around 5'3. This thing had its head pitched clear over the shrubs with a little bit of extra visible. And usually, when a predator is making no attempt to hide, it's usually because its trying to intimidate someone. My grandmother managed to back away to the hill without turning around, and when she started to get out of sight the creature stepped out of the thicket on its hind legs. It strolled forward in a very uncanny way she had trouble describing but she insisted it never went back down on all fours. Needless to say, she ran to the house in a backpedal sprint. That night they heard the panting again along with a distant howl and scraping sounds. They found the garage door, back door frame, and kitchen window frame all had claw marks on them from something investigating them.

The canine creature was seen a few more times across the week by my grandmother and the neighbors; usually on or near the area of my family's property. My aunt finally saw it when she saw a pair of fuzzy ears outside her window. Now she wasn't startled right off the bat from this as Captain had come by her window a few times before and she gradually lost some fear of the big bear over the years. But in his case his ears just barely reached the edge of the window seal whereas in this case, you could clearly see them and the top of their owner's head. She quickly realized it wasn't the bear because of the pointed shape, brown coloring, and the fact it had two fully intact ears. They also started to detect a very pungent smell on a side door porch, one time finding what look like some urinal or some other liquid stains on it; suggesting an animal had scent marked it to claim the spot.

It all came to a head on a Wednesday night when they heard howling in the distance grow closer. My grandmother flipped on a porch light and glimpsed the canine animal quickly sprinting across the lawn on its hind legs again, her sighting confirming how big it was. She'd seen timber wolves at the zoo up to 150lbs and she was certain this was at least a bit more than twice that size. For several hours of the night, they could hear it roaming around the property and pressing against doors like it was trying to find a way in. They glimpsed at several points eye shine of yellow eyes peering in through the windows as well as broad, long-fingered paws being pushed against the glass briefly. This was the day an age before cell phones and 24-hour police service in some rural areas, so no one had a means of immediately calling the police. Instead, my grandmother had to wait arduous minutes on a dial-line with connection difficulty trying to call the police station two towns over.

She was distracted by my aunt screaming, running into the bedroom to get one of the guns out. She had been sitting in the living room when she felt clicking against the glass and saw "that wolf thing" pressing its face and bared teeth against the surface with its claws fully outstretched. Both of them started to try to get the rifles or shotguns out, it was becoming increasingly clear the creature was trying to get into the house and knew they were in there.

They heard it panting through a wall before there was the sound of heavy footsteps and a very loud "Thump!" with a flash of fur on the edge of the window. They ran to the inner-most room, the pantry locker, and stayed in there with the guns. Now it's not like in the movies when creatures roar, snarl, and hiss constantly no matter what they're doing; but they did hear a commotion outside. My aunt and grandmother hadn't the faintest idea what was going on and didn't investigate until the morning after, but they could tell something was antagonizing something as occasional grunts, barks, and rumbles were audible through the blackness for about a minute and gradually moved off.

They found no bodies but there'd clearly been a ferocious altercation. The ground was ripped up in multiple spots, the wall had a dent in it, and there was some oxidized blood traces on the grass and dirt. My grandmother also found a trail where something had charged through the shrubs and recovered several vague dog prints as well as wider tracks moving the same direction. The animals all seemed to come back by the end of the week and the howls stopped.

When my grandfather came back home he, my aunt, and some neighbors surveyed the area to make sure they couldn't find the wolf creature. Evidently the neighbors had also heard howls around their property at night that stopped recently too. They couldn't find it despite surveying the whole property, though they did find what looked like a track way leading out of the property and running off into the mountains.

Several days later my grandmother saw Captain again, marking his territory by rubbing up against a tree in their yard and scratching the bark. He had several cuts across his muzzle, was missing patches of fur, had some healed bite wounds on his arm, and the hole in his ear had been torn open to the point he was missing half the ear flap, but other than that and a slight limp that went away with time; he was fine. My aunt joked he looked rather proud of himself.

When he was told about the urine like smell on the doorstep when the wolf creature was running amok, my grandfather speculated it was trying to claim the territory. Usually black bears are relatively docile but evidently Captain took issue with this newcomer imposing on his space and became aggressive, so what my grandmother and aunt heard that one night was the bear charging while it was distracted and engaging the intruder. While the wolf looking creature was taller, it seemed skinnier and less massive. And apparently in a confrontation and threat displays that likely followed, sheer bulk won out.

Apparently it decided it wasn't worth claiming this spot if it meant having to square off with a quarter ton of claws and teeth for it. Captain had run the intruder off to protect his territory and coincidentally helped my family. As a thank you and so he could recover his strength quicker my grandmother trimmed the apple trees to down all the fruit and let the bear enjoy himself without feeding him directly (don't want to associate humans with food). Winter would be in a few months and she wanted him fattened up so he could stick around for the next year, just in case. As she put it, the forest will always have a "boss" and its better to have one who's not interested in eating you.

Decades have gone by and while both my grandparents and Captain have passed, the dogman creature never returned. There's been about three black bears who've moved into Captain's place since and each has grown about as big as he was. Thankfully that seems to have been enough to ward off any large canines." News & Notes: 'Did We Summon A Skinwalker?'

A pair of friends in southern Nevada hear strange noises outside the window one night. The next morning, they discover canine and human tracks. Was it a skinwalker?

This recent encounter was forwarded to me:

"I live in rural Southern Nevada. A buddy of mine and I encountered what we believe to be a skinwalker one night recently. It was late. I live towards the edge of town fairly close to the open desert. I don't remember the time, I'd estimate between 12a-2a.

Buddy of mine comes over and decides to spend the night hanging out with me. We were in the living room sitting near the side of the house, right next to a couple closed and blinded windows. We'd been on the topic of the paranormal/cryptids when we began discussing Navajo/Southern Paiute skinwalker lore. We're about an hour in on that topic when we began hearing a faint but distinguishable pitter-patter directly outside the window, pacing back and forth the length of the side of the house. We semi-dismissed it until we began to hear hyena-like cackling. At that point we figured that we had attracted one to us by speaking of them (which is a staple of their lore). So we decided the best course would be to not acknowledge it and carry on with our conversation until it left.

The paw-like pacing and cackling continued for another 45 minutes or so and eventually stopped. Neither one of us were willing to open the blinds or go outside until the morning. When we woke up and went outside not only did we see dog prints lining the dirt directly outside of the windows, we saw a set of abnormally large human like footprints that ran from near the car port to the center of the yard before the tracks stopped dead. Each footprint was smaller and less imprinted.

To this day we are positive that we attracted/summoned a skinwalker. Even if that's not the correct cryptid, I know for a fact that there was something outside of the house that night." AS

From Keller Venus Files:  Eugene M. Gluhareff, president of the Gluhareff Helicopter and Airplane Corporation of Manhattan Beach, California, commissioned this painting of the “Flying Saucer of the Future” and unveiled it at a late 1955 meeting of aviation and electronics company executives.  According to Gluhareff, the saucer was designed “for exploring far beyond the Earth’s atmosphere and gravity field.  The painting shows the flying saucer operating at “moderate speed” over the New England countryside.  The business leader pointed to “a propulsive blast of the electron beams from the rear of the saucer, giving it a translational force.”  He speculated that such a craft could conceivably “fly to Venus and back in thirty minutes,” since the speed of light was not even considered a limiting factor in the drive unit.

Back in 1955, other top-ranking scientists brought in to work on the anti-gravity project were Dr. Vaclav Hlavaty of the University of Indiana, who actually served with Dr. Albert Einstein on the faculty of Charles University in Prague, Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic), and later taught mathematics at the Sorbonne in Paris; and from the Princeton Institute for Advanced Study in New Jersey, Dr. Stanley Deser and Dr. Richard Arnowitt.  

 

From Keller Venus Files:  Dr. Vaclav Hlavaty, an associate researcher in physics with Dr. Albert Einstein in Europe, claimed the speed of light was not a limiting factor for a spaceship equipped with an anti-gravity drive. 

Hlavaty and the Correct Interpretation of Einstein

Dr. Hlavaty expressed his opinion that gravity is simply one aspect of electromagnetism, the basis of all cosmic forces, and that eventually it may be controlled in much the same way that we exercise control over light and radio waves today.  

While it is commonly believed that Einstein expressly declared that the speed of light was absolute and that nothing could even exist beyond this speed, Hlavaty revealed that Einstein, shortly before his death, denied that he ever made such a statement:  “What Einstein did say was that around 186,000 miles per second, mass would become infinite, that your backside would become your frontside, and time, at least as we conceive it, would come to a stop.  In other words, there is no reason, theoretical or otherwise, why that particular speed cannot be exceeded.”

The Czech physicist also declared that his associate in Prague, Dr. Albert Einstein, had indeed completed his major work on discovering a unified field theory that would encompass all cosmic forces in a single equation.  “There is also a widely held belief,” said Hlavaty, “possibly one that has been deliberately encouraged, that Einstein’s work on his ‘unified field theory’ had not reached its final stage when his death left this work to be completed, presumably, by still other minds, yet to develop it.”  

Dr. Hlavaty explained if he was stopped in his important work, there were still many others with the knowledge needed to enable them to continue his investigations into the nature of gravity, “with or without official approval.”

Finding the Gravity Key

As for Dr. Deser and Dr. Arnowitt, they shared the opinion that then recently discovered nuclear and subatomic particles of high energy, extremely hard to explain back in 1955, would prove to be the key that unlocks the mystery of gravity.  It was their suggestion that the new particles might logically be seen as the basic gravitational energy being automatically and continuously converted in an ever-expanding universe “directly into the most useful nuclear and electromagnetic forms.” 

In a joint scientific paper on the nature of these particles, the doctors concluded that, “One of the most hopeful aspects of the problem is that until recently, gravitation could be observed but not experimented on in any controlled fashion; while now, with the advent of the past two years of the new high energy accelerators (the Cosmotron and the more recent Berkeley Bevatron), the new particles which have been linked with the gravitational field can be examined and worked with at will.”

The Cosmotron was a particle accelerator, specifically a proton synchrotron, at Brookhaven National Laboratory. Its construction was approved by the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission in 1948.  It reached its full energy in 1953, and it continued running until 1966 and was dismantled in 1969.  The Bevatron, built in 1954 and run by the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory on a hill overlooking the campus of the University of California at Berkeley, also served, and continues to serve, as an accelerator in which protons are raised to energies of several billion electron-volts by modulating the frequency of the accelerating voltage.  Tasking and operation of the Bevatron is supervised by the Department of Energy.  

The Interplanetary Spaceship

In the next day’s European edition of the New York Herald Tribune, on 21 November 1955, military and aviation editor Ansel E. Talbert continued with his groundbreaking series on the progress being made with anti-gravity research in the United States and the development of Earth’s first interplanetary spaceship, propelled by anti-gravitational forces, that was then already on the drawing board.  Part II in Talbert’s series, “Spaceship Marvel Seen If Gravity Is Outwitted:  Speeds of Thousands of Miles An Hour Without a Jolt Held Likely,” noted that since American scientists had begun to think of the Earth itself as a giant magnet, many throughout the United States aircraft and electronic industries are becoming excited over the “possibility of using its magnetic and gravitational fields as a medium of support for amazing ‘flying vehicles’ which will not depend on the air for lift.”

Talbert commented that in the near future we could expect to see “spaceships capable of accelerating in a few seconds to speeds many thousands of miles an hour and making sudden changes of course at these speeds without subjecting their passengers to the so-called ‘G-forces’ caused by gravity’s pull.”  Essentially, these spaceships would mimic the power, speed and maneuverability of the flying saucers then seen peppering American skies.  

The concepts that would make these types of spacecraft possible were incorporated into a TOP SECRET program that was designed to solve the secrets of gravity and universal gravitation already in progress at many of the nation’s leading scientific laboratories and long-established industrial firms.  Although these scientists still did not know much about gravity and its relationship to electromagnetism, nuclear research and experimentation with “high-energy machines” in 1955, such as that conducted at Brookhaven in New York and Berkeley in California, were provided a “flood of new evidence” believed to exercise a significant bearing on attaining the goal of fabricating such a working spaceship.

News & Notes: Wolf-Like Upright Canine Sighting Near Stuttgart, Arkansas

An Arkansas man encounters a wolf-like upright canine while driving on I-165 late at night. He was in the vicinity of Stuttgart.

I recently the following account:

"This is my encounter of what I believe to be a dogman. This happened in July. I was working at a very big factory in Stuttgart, Arkansas in pretty much the east central part of the state.

One night. I got off of work at around 8 pm. I went to one of my coworker's house and proceeded to indulge in plenty of beer. But it was well after midnight when I left his house to make the half hour drive to my house (don't drink and drive kids) but I was on the main highway that connects Stuttgart to England and was cruising around 65 mph and really had no oncoming traffic as everyone is either heading the same way as me or has already turned off elsewhere. I had a car that I installed a light bar on the front bumper. I had my light bar on and it really shined up the road a good ways.

I went around a curve and noticed something dark off to the passenger side of the road in a ditch next to a rice field, walking the same way as I was heading. As I got closer to the object I could tell it was covered in black fur and was walking on 2 feet. As I got close enough to see the complete look of the creature it turned and looked at me. It felt like it peered into my soul. I could tell it had a wolf-like head with a muscular build body. I don't know if it was the alcohol I drink that made me see it or what but I didn't stop. I know I probably wasn't seeing stuff because the car that was behind me slammed its breaks and backed up to get an angle of the field with their headlights.

I kept driving and drove the rest of the way home doing over 100+ mph. I made it home to which I promptly ran in the house and slept with my gun in my lap with me. That night I kept hearing things walk around the outside of my house and my bulldog would cower in his kennel and would not get out of it. I have not drunk more than 3 beers in a single sitting since." C
