Unusual Canine-Like Cryptid Observed in Champaign, Illinois
A woman in Champaign, Illinois observed a strange canine-like creature in the lot near her front yard. Interesting account.
I following account was recently forwarded to me:
This happened about a month ago in Champaign, Illinois. I live in a neighborhood in town, a few blocks away from main city streets (around Mattis and University, if you're familiar with the area). I was in the front yard doing some work. The west side of the yard is lined with tall evergreens, but they are sparse enough to see through to the lot next to me and the house on the other side of the lot.
I paused from working and noticed some movement through the trees - an animal running/trotting from the back of the lot to the street. I decided to watch it, just in case it was the dog from the house on the other side of lot and needed to be returned to the owner.
When the animal entered the street, my immediate thought was that it was a baby deer - it ran like a deer and was about that size. But then I realized it wasn't a deer - its body looked more like a dog (like a greyhound or whippet). It really looked like a cross between a deer and dog but looked like neither. It just didn't look...right.
It was a solid tan-color (no spots/markings), and had a long slender tail, muzzle/snout, and body. I believe it also had long ears that it held back against its head. It made absolutely no sound as it ran and only looked straight ahead as it crossed the street into the overgrown backyard of an abandoned house.
I only saw it for a few seconds, but I got a good look at it. I know it could have been a dog, but it just didn't move like a dog. My husband thinks it may be some sort of cryptid. We’re tempted to explore the abandoned house to see what we can find out. Has anyone seen anything like this?
Below is an image I found is similar what I saw. The differences are that what I saw had long ears and that the legs of the animal I saw were like a deer's and not like a dogs. It also was not crouched over at all, it stood very upright." TO

William P. Lear Joins the Fray
Insofar as the top American scientists in the fields of engineering and physics had joined in various corporate, government funded programs at the end of 1955 to develop an anti-gravitational propulsion system that could duplicate the power and maneuverability of the flying saucers, William P. Lear, the inventor and chairman of the board of Lear, Inc., one of the nation’s largest electronics firms specializing in aviation, decided that it was time for him and his corporation to enter the fray. It seems that all along Lear had been monitoring new developments and theories relating to gravity with his own chief engineers and scientists of varied other specialties.
In 1949, Lear received the Robert J. Collier Trophy from United States President Harry S. Truman on behalf of the National Aeronautic Association, for “the greatest achievement in aviation in America,” through his development of a lightweight, automatic pilot and approach control system for jet fighter planes. As far as the anti-gravity investigations then underway in late 1955, in an interview with Ansel E. Talbert, the Military and Aviation Editor of the New York Herald Tribune, that was published in the 21 November 1955 edition of that newspaper, Lear declared, “I am convinced that it will be possible to create artificial electro-gravitational fields whose polarity can be controlled to cancel out gravity.” He added that, “All the mass materials and human beings within these fields will be part of them. They will be adjustable so as to increase or decrease the weight of any object in its surroundings. They won’t be affected by the Earth’s gravity or that of any other celestial object. This means that if any person was in an anti-gravitational airplane or spaceship that carried along its own gravitational field- no matter how fast you accelerated or changed course- your body wouldn’t any more feel it than it now feels the speed of the Earth.”
Michael Faraday “Living the Life Electric”
Back in merry old nineteenth century England, creative scientist Michael Faraday (22 September 1791-25 August 1867), contributed greatly to our overall study and understanding of electromagnetism and electrochemistry. His main discovery came in revealing the principles underlying electromagnetic induction, diamagnetism and electrolysis. There is no doubt that Faraday’s pioneering research into all facets of electricity and magnetism paved the way for the construction of artificial “electro-magnets,” in which magnetism is produced by means of electric currents. These electromagnets retain the property of magnetism so long as the current is flowing, ergo an electromagnet can be made by winding around a soft iron core a coil of insulated wire carrying electrical current. The strength of the electromagnet will, therefore, depend primarily on the number of turns in the coil rather than the strength of the current.
Faraday’s Discoveries Still “Sparking” Consciousness

Building on Michael Faraday’s research and discoveries, Talbert noted that, “Even today America’s rapidly expanding electronics industry is constantly finding new uses for electromagnets. For example, Jack Fletcher, a young electronics and aeronautical engineer of West Covina, California, has just built a ‘Twenty-First Century Home’ containing an electronic stove functioning by magnetic repulsion,” among other appliances, such as the lamp illustrated above.
Floating Pan Inspires Further Research
Fletcher’s stove contained seven coils of wire mounted on laminated iron cores and contained inside a plywood cabinet. The magnetic field from these coils induced “eddy currents” in an aluminum cooking pan nineteen inches in diameter. These currents interact with and lift the pan into space like a “miniature flying saucer.” The cooking pan literally floats about two inches in the air above the stove in a stabilized condition. The eddy currents generate the heat that warms the pan while the stovetop literally remains cold. The aluminum pan can also hold pots and be used as a griddle. Basically, the Fletcher stove was but one of several types of more familiar magnetic repulsion gadgets in use back in 1955, to the include the mysterious “floating metal ball” then seen in many science-hall exhibits.

While no type of electromagnet known to science or industry back in 1955 could have any application toward building a real flying vehicle, Eugene M. Gluhareff, the president of the Gluhareff Helicopter and Airplane Corporation of Manhattan Beach, California, had made several theoretical design studies of saucer-shaped vehicles for travel into outer space, having atomic generators of electric power as their basic engines. Gluhareff was in agreement with Lear, that adding atomic power to the equation was a “sure fire” way to get an anti-gravity spaceship “off the ground,” so to speak.
Eugene Gluhareff was the son of Michael E. Gluhareff, the chief designer for Dr. Igor I. Sikorsky, the helicopter and multi-engine aircraft pioneer. Dr. Sikorsky and Michael Gluhareff won the Alexander Klemin award, one of the highest honors in the field of aviation, and are, themselves, deeply interested in the problem of overcoming gravitation. The younger Gluhareff has also proven himself quite an aviation engineer, having advanced the designs for many conventional aircraft then in common use. With an eye to the future of aircraft development, however, Eugene Gluhareff noted that, “I envision the electric power obtained from the atomic generators operating electronic reactors- that is, obtaining propulsion by the acceleration of electrons to a very high velocity and expelling them into space in the same manner that hot gases are expelled from jet engines. Such an arrangement would not pollute the atmosphere with radioactive vapors.”
The younger Gluhareff continued: “Because of its long-lasting fuel, an atomic-electronic flying disk would be able to control its acceleration to any speed desired and there would be no need for being ‘shot into space.’” He further explained this process to the New York Herald-Tribune correspondent, noting that radial electronic beams around the saucer’s rim would be operating constantly and would sustain flight by essentially “acting against gravity.” Such control can be achieved by a slight differentiation of the deflection of electronic beams in either direction. Basically, what it comes down to is that the beams would act in much the same way that an orthodox airplane’s ailerons and elevator function.
Eugene Gluhareff finds himself in good company. Dr. Pascual Jordan of Hamburg University in Germany, one of the world’s leading authorities on gravitation who proved many parts of Dr. Max Planck’s quantum theory, concurs that, “It will be possible to induce sustainable changes in the gravitational fields of rotating masses through electro-magnetic research.” Dr. Jordan, at the time he made this statement, was working on an anti-gravitational research project for the Martin Aircraft Company of Baltimore, Maryland.
Also jumping on the bandwagon was Normal V. Petersen of the Sperry Gyroscope Division of the Sperry-Rand Corporation of Great Neck, Long Island, New York. As president of the American Astronautical Society, Petersen attended a TOP SECRET meeting with newly-elected president Dwight D. Eisenhower and other leaders of countries in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) held in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1955, to discuss the possibility of launching an “Earth satellite” to monitor military activities of the Soviet Union from a position in outer space. Apparently, he and other scientists briefing the presidents and prime ministers of the NATO nations, were of the same mind in corroborating the theory that “nuclear-powered- or solar powered- ion-electron beam reactors will give impetus to the conquest of space.”

An Hispanic woman and her husband encounter a shapeshifting being while walking near their home in west Texas. What was this entity?

My husband and I went on our first walk this morning, after moving to the country in west Texas. It’s not the kind of country where your nearest neighbor is miles away, but we are surrounded by trees and empty fields.
As we got about 35 feet away from the bridge/road by our house, we noticed a creature standing on the bridge, just watching us. It looked like someone dressed in all black, just staring us down from the left side of the bridge.
We walked closer and realized it was walking away. No matter how fast or slow we walked, it was always the same distance away from us. When we stopped moving, so would the creature. What seemed to change was the shape it would take.
As we walked, we could see it hobbling like a drunk person. If we looked away, it would move to the opposite side of the road and be a completely different shape, like a dog or small animal.
As we walked onto the bridge, the creature was farther ahead by a hill. It began to change shape and had stick-like legs. It would walk but would not bend its knees. It was as if it was on stilts. We slowed our pace and it began to walk over the hill, still changing shape.
We got to the hill, looking ahead to see what shape the creature took, but it was gone. No trace of it in the distance (we can see a few miles ahead at this point), no sign of it being there at all." MM

Police Blotter: 'Werewolf' Reports From Eastern Brazil - 2008-2013
There was a rash of 'werewolf' sightings and encounters reported to local jurisdictions throughout eastern Brazil during 2008-2013.
During the year two thousand and nine residents of Canhotinho, Pernambuco, had their affected routines: Children hardly leave the house at night, adults locked the doors after 22 hours and those who risked breaking this behavior were afraid they are attacked by an alleged werewolf who would be prowling the city.
According to an animal population as this would plaguing the city in 2001 and in 2009 the animal would be back howling and attacking animals at night. There were several reports of people who have seen the monster, or that they are aware of their presence in Canhotinho.
One of the reports that increased the fear at the time was after the attack in a place where the farmer Maria do Carmo Soares, 57, assured to have seen the "werewolf" eating the dogs from his home.
- I was watching television when I got up to go turn off the kitchen light when I saw a strange thing in the gap of the door. I exhale and saw a large animal, all furry, with big ears and all black. He was eating one of my dogs. - Tells the farmer.
She was alone and wept with fear, the other day found her three dead dogs.
- The pieces of them were around the yard. I have never in my life seen a dog being killed like that. I could only find three legs and a head of the dogs. The rest he must have swallowed - reminded her terrified.
In Eliza Holland neighborhood, close to the city cemetery, the reports are even more frightening: A watchman of a school, who asked not to be identified, he said he came to shoot the neck "werewolf".
- First I saw a very strange thing when I was coming to work. Was behind the cemetery, it was like he (the werewolf) turning. The other day, I was here in high school when he saw me and came to attack me. He had big teeth and sharp claws, gave fear, but I shot in his neck and then he ran across the scrub. - ensures.
Some people said that the "werewolf" could be a girl who lived near the cemetery and that the transformation would take place in a pen that is behind her house. To further strengthen this suspicion, neighbors vowed that after the guard shot himself in the creature the girl would have been treated at the hospital with neck pain.

Strange sightings of a creature that locals attribute being a werewolf, is scaring the inhabitants of Luis Correia in Piaui. Many stories are being told, say that the alleged creature is covered with hair, walks on its hind legs and has an agility out of the ordinary.
Even the military police was notified about the appearance of the creature and made efforts to try to capture the animal. As in other cases, the suspicion is that some costumed person is hanging around the place.

In Jaibaras, Sobral-CE District, residents are afraid of a creature that has attacked some animals of the region. According to witnesses, the "animal" would be a being half man, half dog.

Two police reports were recorded in a town in rural Taua, located in the interior of Ceará. According to its residents, a werewolf would be stealing sheep. The fact was attributed to this supernatural creature after a woman had spotted an individual half man and half wolf. A 12-year-old also said he had seen a similar figure near his home. Both reports indicate that the creature smells really bad, and has a grotesque appearance.
Again, police are investigating the possibility of people are working costumed to scare the local population.

Stories over a werewolf woman has been told by the people of Guarabira, Paraiba. According to one account a woman, owning a place in the region, would have had a pig attacked by the creature. The animal was killed with scratches and had her mutilated neck.
The stories say they have seen a disheveled woman walking through the woods and it's at night that occurs the transformation. Dozens of reports reinforce the myth, changing the habits of residents: children are no longer going to school unaccompanied, ladies stopped going to church at night and even the bars are getting empty.

News & Notes: Unknown 'Protector Friends' Encountered in Woods
A man in Michigan encountered unknown beings that he believes were protecting him while he conducted his daily walk. What could these entities be?
I recently received the following account:
"Recently, I was walking up one of my longer road routes, and at one point, there is a small intersection. A fire road to your right goes up a hill, while going along the paved road will bring you into an isolated wooded area, with only 3 houses spaced out from one another.
In between this wooded area and the random houses, there is a quarter mile patch of dense woods, where from the road you can clearly see a dilapidated abandoned farm house and shed. We have lived in this area almost 6 years (near Traverse City, MI). I sense something was watching.
It happened 4 more times, and although it was a bit scary, I knew I wasn't in danger. But I began to see these beings with my mind's eye. The more regularly I walked that way, and the calmer I was, they were easier to see.
There were usually 4 or 5, at least 10 to 12 feet tall. All of them had different animal skull heads: a steer, a ram, an elk, a moose and an ibex. They had massive bodies (or massive coats) of different colored animal fur, and hand-type appendages that looked like freakishly long human hands.
They were always led by the steer, and usually would circle around me. But never in a violent or frightening way. They conveyed to me they were protecting me. I asked from what, but got no answer.
I noticed not long after encountering these friends, I began to struggle with time slips on my walks. Whether I have some extra weight on my frame or not, 2 of the 3 directions I can walk are radically steep climbs going home. So when I began getting home in less than a quarter of the time, my wife stressed to me to stop taking music.
I listened. One morning, coming back down the route my woodland friends resided in, the ram and ibex appeared suddenly and I suddenly felt afraid. They related with anger they had warned me not to walk this way anymore, and I was not heeding their warnings. If I continued to ignore their pleas, I would be left "utterly alone to (my) peril."
They slowly bent down towards me, and I did not want to look into their eye sockets. But that's all I could do. There was a horribly loud screeching white noise static sound, then silence.
I rubbed my eyes, and quick continued walking home. I felt utterly disoriented, and I couldn't figure out why.
I get home, and as I am walking up our yard, my wife is frantic. She shouts at me "where the hell have you been?" And I defensively told her she knew I always walk in the morning.
Her face conveyed something I was not initially catching. She asked me if I knew what time it was. I said I did not. She told me it was noon. I left for my walk at 7am. A walk that should have gotten me home no later 8:30.
When we discussed everything I had experienced, we both agreed walking that way was really not a smart idea. I do walk outside now, but not for the long walks I did. Usually just trips under 30 minutes.
I have not had any more direct contact with these beings, but I know they are always there, watching over the woods, and observing the humans.
I still have no clue what they were protecting me from. All I know is I will listen to their warnings." J

Baby-Stealing 'Werewolf' Observed Near Veracruz, Mexico
A rash of missing babies was occurring in a village near Veracruz, Mexico. One night, the witness observes a 'werewolf' holding a baby in the neighbor's doorway.
The following account was included in an older database:
"This happened in the summer of 1967 near Veracruz, Mexico. This is where I was born.
One evening, when we came back to our neighborhood, one of the neighbors told my mom that she lost her baby boy and that it was the third tragedy around that colony within the month. I recalled my mom telling my dad that night that she was very scared and wanted us to move as soon as possible. My dad told her that we would.
When she was done talking to him, she called me and my brother and gave us instructions to not go outside after dark, no matter what!
About two nights later, we were celebrating my brother's birthday, and after the celebration my mom cleaned the house and put us to sleep. Sometime that night I woke up to drink water, and I noticed that it was really bright inside the kitchen because the moonlight was very bright coming through the window above the kitchen sink. I was too small to get a cup from the cupboards, so I pulled a chair from our dining table and put it right in front of the sink. At that moment, I happened to look into my neighbor's house across from our home and noticed that there was someone or something very big in front of their door, and it seemed to be holding something.
When I got closer to the window to see what it was holding, I realized that whatever it was standing there was taller than the door. It had pointed ears and had no clothing on. When I saw the ears, I jumped and my chair made a loud noise. The thing turned and looked at me -- and I saw its face!
It looked like a freaking police dog with bright red eyes on two legs, and what it was holding was a baby! I got off the chair, ran to the room to my baby brother's bed and held him for a long time. I was so scared that I thought whatever I saw was going to come through the door and take us away.
The next morning, we went to church, and our neighbor told my parents that her friend across from our home lost her child the night before and that nobody knew how it had happened. When I heard that, I started crying. My mom asked me what was wrong with me and I told her what I had seen. She told me that we would be moving soon and to never to tell anybody what I saw. And I haven't, until now." MC

News & Notes: Bigfoot Charges Truck in Royal Palm, Florida Mudflats
A group of friends are riding a truck in mudflats in Royal Palm Beach, Florida when they get stuck. They are huddled in the truck when they encounter a huge Bigfoot that charges them.
This account was recently forwarded to me. I'm not sure where it came from, but I'm presenting 'as is':
"I’ve been asked to write about this, so here goes. Back in 1989 I was with my boyfriend, Eddie, his best friend, my older sister, Angie, and about six other people. We had spent the entire day mudding in the Royal Palm mudflats in Royal Palm Beach, Florida in Palm Beach County. I grew up in West Palm Beach. I had never seen anything like this before or since.
After mudding all day, we decided to call it a night and leave. Almost everyone was gone by then. So we all piled into Eddie’s truck and left. Eddie saw a “small” mud hole and drove through it as one last hurrah for the night. We got stuck. That “small” hole was deceptive.
When I say we got stuck, I mean we were stuck.....for hours. I was pregnant with my 1st. So I was steering as the other nine were pushing. That truck didn’t budge. We had no choice but to wait until morning for someone to come pull us out as we were now on our own.
At about 5 am we decided we should just relax and try to sleep until someone came through. Eddie, I, and his bestie were in the front. My sister and the other six, who we are still friends with to this day, piled into the back and started to settle down.
We were still making noise when I heard a sound. It was a rumbling growl. I knew immediately that it was some type of animal. I told everyone to hush and listen. Then we all heard it and it was getting louder and more aggressive sounding. Eddie has a KC light behind his seat. He popped out, grabbed it, plugged it in and lit the night up.
That’s when our world changed.10 of us had our world rocked in a way we never expected. This “thing” ducked down and moved. Everyone was starting to freak out, because it was clearly there, but what was it? Then it got pissed. This “thing” stood straight up, let out a roar that I can still hear 31 years later, leapt the large bush it was standing behind and charged us. You could feel the earth literally shake with every running step it took. It was easily eight to nine feet tall. It was broad. It looked like an extremely large man with hair, not fur, it had hair and lots of it. The KC light lit it up and you could see the clumping of the hair. The smell was rotten and sour. Being pregnant, I was extremely sensitive to smells and it was bad.
We had spent hours, we are talking 5+ hours, trying to push this truck out. They say adrenaline gives you super strength. They are right! Eddie turned on his truck and started pushing on his door frame. His bestie leapt out his side and did the same. My sister and the other six let out screams as they piled out and then all you heard was this thing running and roaring. Everyone else was dead silent as they put everything they had into pushing this truck out. With a sucking pop, that I also can still hear, we were out and they were throwing themselves into the back as Eddie and his bestie jumped in and he floored it.
This is woods with tight turns and we flew around those turns. It felt like the devil himself was chasing us. After we got out and onto the main road, we headed for a gas station to calm down and call our families. When we got there, were all got out, sat with our backs to the wall and that was it. We never said a word to each other. Just silence. I think we were too raw, scared and in complete shock over what happened. This was lore. This wasn’t real. They don’t exist. Yet there it was.
After we all called our parents, we went home. One by one being dropped off. Not a word spoken. My sister and I did not discuss this until about five years ago. We finally opened up about that night and have slowly talked to the others. 25 years after the fact and every single one of us that have spoken about it have the same exact story and memory forever burned into our minds. It wasn’t cool. It was scary. I think the reason we couldn’t talk about it for so long was because our brains were in denial at first and then we didn’t know how to open up about it. Now I can look back and say, holy crap, we saw freaking Bigfoot!" JB

Upright Canine Encounter in Managua, Nicaragua Barrios
A girl, living in the Managua, Nicaragua barrios, encounters an upright canine while walking through the dark passages in the area.
I recently came across the older account from 1987 in Nicaragua:
"My mom used to take me to stay with my Grandma who lived about 3 1/2 miles away, close to Lake Nicaragua which is infested with bull sharks. The area where Grandma lived was under constant construction and the city was deforesting the area to make more houses. Light posts were spread throughout the area where no homes where yet built
There were creeks that went under bridges and one could walk to other barrios, or parts of the neighborhood that were closer to the lake and the mountains. A lot of native people lived there. They cooked rice and beans on the stove and by hand on a comal hand made tortillas. My mother had a knack of sending me to those neighborhoods to buy beans and tortillas which is what I did that afternoon. I had never believed in werewolves or witches or anything supernatural or unknown, but this shocked me to understand the importance of keeping an open mind and to know and respect others who have seen the paranormal.
I was heading with 2 plastic containers to buy the beans and tortillas that afternoon by my grandma's house. I had to go through an area where a creek went all the way to lake Nicaragua, and still had a lot of forested areas there and had encroaching buildings that were being built but not finished yet. The road I walked on was in between the forest and creek alongside. As one got closer to my Grandma's neighborhood the unfinished buildings were apparent with few trees about and the creek became part of a water way. To get across, you had to walk on a bridge to get to the road that lead to the outskirts of the city of Managua, which is where my grandma's house was, in an area called America's # 2.
Anyway, on the way to buy mom's beans and tortillas I had no ill feelings on the road. The sun was still up, it was about 6:30 pm. Since we are near the equator there is still sunlight at that time. It took me approximately one hour to do this. I had no worries since the people around the area knew me. On the way back to grandma's, as I got close to where the new buildings were being constructed it was already dark, and there was a full moon that night. It was around 7:45 pm since I always had a watch with me since I like watches a lot as a matter of fact I still wear a watch today.
Anyway, as I had finished crossing the bridge I came up to a building which had not been finished and had no roof or doors, and it was about 150 yards from the creek and wood line. The moon happened to light the building and leave places dark on the ground and light up the mid level places around 5 feet and up as the moonlight hit the building at an angle. As I walked in front of a door by the road suddenly I heard a growling sound, like a dog growl. I was never fond of dogs since they always seem to chase me, and had one bit me when I was 6. But now I'm grown up and actually like dogs and cats.
Anyway, as I heard this sound, I don't know if it was curiosity or stupidity, I decided to investigate by backtracking and seeing if in fact it was a wild dog with rabies, since rabies at that time was rampant in our country. This way I knew weather to expect an attack or just to get a rock in one of my hands in case it decided to mess with me.
Well, to my horrific surprise, I come up to the door of the building only to be 10 feet from a thing that I only saw in the movies like 'The Howling.' I couldn't believe what I was seeing!
This thing slowly began to rise from a hunched position to where the moonlight hit its face, and mind you, this was a one story building with no roof. This building was at least 8 1/2 feet tall, yet this things head was maybe 5 inches above it! I was having trouble speaking. I was in a state of awe and disbelief.
This thing had pointy black ears and a mid-size snout like a German Shepherd, and it had a yellow glow to its eyes. It had hands like a raccoons, but with a curve to them.
Suddenly my reaction came, and I spoke out loud and said 'NO!' At this point this creature heard me and immediately turned its head to see me I realized.
At this point I had 2 choices; stay, and hope it didn't eat me, or run the mile left to my Grandma's house. I can tell you the second option was better. I immediately turned and ran in the direction of Grandma's house. I felt the thing behind me but I dared not look. I ran, and the funny thing is I didn't even drop my mom's containers that were with me!
I ran all the way to my Grandma's house and I ran into the house. The good thing was that in those days Grandma always left the door open. I ran inside and ran past my mom and my Grandma. I then rushed to the kitchen and put mom's containers on the counter I took the steak knives that Grandma had and told my mom and grandma it's after me and I'm ready.
At this point my mom and Grandma tried to convince me that I was ok and to put the knives down. I did not put the knives down until I was sure that the monster was not showing up to attack Grandma's house.
I had nightmares and horrible dreams for about 2 years after that.
But this was not the last time I would see something like this creature." Name withheld
