Black Winged Humanoid Observed in Cape Girardeau, Missouri
A Cape Girardeau, Missouri woman reported seeing a black winged humanoid that she described as being similar to the 'Jeepers Creepers' film creature.
The Singular Fortean Society recently received a message from a woman who wished to report her sighting of a “black, humanoid figure with very large wings and legs” in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
According to the woman, the sighting took place while heading east on Bertling Street, near the Southeast Missouri State Softball Field, between 8 and 9 pm on October 8th.
Tobias Wayland was able to interview the witness over the phone.
"Me, my two girls, and my fiancé went to a little street area where the houses have Halloween decorations at nighttime," she told the investigator. "We went down one way and then came back the other way to look at both sides of the street. We did that, and we were headed back home. We came up over a hill and when we got down almost to the stop sign, that’s when I saw it. It was like a human figure, but with big wings—the feet and toes were pointed to the ground—it had scrawny legs, but muscled at the calf. The feet were long but pointy. It was maybe six feet tall. The wings weren’t open, they were still closed."
The creature's wings, which she said looked like they were made of skin, "were really pointy and they were past its head. [The creature] just looked like somebody getting ready to dive off of something, like they have their hands out. The wings were over top of it, and they were pulled in, like wrapped around it. The wings weren’t as long as the body. They came out over the head, but were shorter than the legs."
Its head, she added, was "was really little and round—kind of pointed but round.”
The creature, which she estimated to have been around 100 feet from the car, looked like it had just "leaped from the trees” to the right of the road.
"About 100 feet from the stop sign to the right is a grove of tall trees," the woman said. "About two to three acres of big, tall trees. That’s where I saw it. [The creature] looked like it had leaped or dove. It was higher than the streetlights, but not real high—midway over the road, but in the sky."
Although the being was black, she was still able to see it because "the light from the softball field lit it some." The dark figure stood out against the sky, as it was “blacker than the night itself.”
She said it didn’t look like the creature had any fur or feathers.
"It was bigger than a bird, it didn’t look like a bird," she explained. "When I saw it, it was kind of like [the monster from] Jeepers Creepers."
The woman asked her fiancé if he’d seen it, too, and he thought he had caught “maybe a little bit of it.”
She estimated that the sighting lasted only six to eight seconds.
After her sighting, the woman looked online to see if anyone else had seen something similar, and found an article published by the Singular Fortean Society about a man who said that he and his son encountered a strange flying creature while hunting ducks near West Alton, Missouri in 2016. That sighting was originally reported to Lon Strickler of Phantoms & Monsters.
West Alton is approximately 125 miles north of this sighting area in Cape Girardeau.
"I was going to get my phone out [to record it], but then I thought ‘What if it sees me and tries to come after me?’ I’d never seen or read about anything like that until I looked it up to see if anybody else had seen any other bat-looking humans," she said. "It was a shock to see something like that. It is a little scary to go out at night and know something like that’s out there."

News & Note: Massive Bigfoot Recently Reported in Bald Eagle State Park, Pennsylvania
A Centre County, Pennsylvania man witnessed a huge Bigfoot walking through the nearby hemlock forest. This incident occurred in the Bald Eagle State Park in early October 2020.
I recently received the following witness report:
I received a telephone call from 'RA' who states that he had a Bigfoot sighting near his cabin in Centre County, Pennsylvania during the 1st week of October 2020.
RA was staying in a cabin near the campground area at Bald Eagle State Park. Around 6:30 PM he walked outside to relieve himself when he noticed movement in the hemlock trees. There was still enough light for him to observe whatever this was. At approximately 50 yards he watched a huge dark haired hominid walking towards Pine Creek. RA stated that he literally heard each footfall as the massive creature moved through the forest. He continued to watch as the Bigfoot stepped over the small creek and continued trekking away from him. RA states that he watched the Bigfoot for about 20 seconds.
RA describes the Bigfoot as at least 8 foot in height with massive wide shoulders. It was covered in dark brown hair. The face was hard to make out, but he compared it as more human than ape with a conical head and prominent brow ridge. It never altered it's pace.
That evening, RA said that he heard a series of wood knocks and 'whoops' in and around 1:00 AM that were emanating from all directions. This is the first time he has ever heard anything similar to this in all the years he has come to the cabin.
The area has a lot of wildlife, including large black bears. RA states that this was not a black bear, which he is very familiar with seeing in the area. Lon

We have received several upright canine sighting and encounter reports from various areas in the general area over the years. Smiling Black Clad Malevolent Entities
2 accounts of black clad entities that smile back at the witnesses. Are these harbingers, foretelling a death or disaster. What do you think?
I recently received the following accounts:
Salt River, Arizona: "I used to see a lot of things when I was a kid...all the time. When I was about 9 or so I was in my grandma's room, which was at the end of the hall. I was walking down the hallway back into the living room when I passed the middle room and I happened to turn my head and look into the room where I saw this man or whatever he was. He was in all black and average height. He had a white face, black eyes and some kind of bloody mark on his forehead. He kind of had his head down but was looking towards me smiling with yellow teeth.
It didn't hit me what I saw right away until I reached the living room and then I started crying. I couldn't calm down. My cousins, who were about my age, were asking me what I saw. I finally told them what I saw. Anyway the next morning my uncle woke me and he was shaking me telling me to get up asking me if I drew a scary picture of some kind of demon. I told him no. He made me get up. He couldn't find it. He was looking everywhere and I was just standing there watching him. He looked scared. We never found the picture, but only he knows what was on it." AM

1990s – Saskatchewan, Canada: "Well this one was one of the scariest things that happened to me. When I was a teen I was on the phone with a friend and I was alone in the house. Soon, it got weirdly quiet and I felt like I had to get out. So I wrote my parents a note saying something weird was happening and would not come home until they came and got me. I would at my friend's house just a few houses away.
As I was leaving I looked down the basement stairs and saw a man standing at the bottom of the stairs! He has a round hat old style and he was all in black. He was staring up at me with my hand on the door to leave. He was so dark and felt evil. I couldn’t see his feet. Just a dark figure, all but his face, and hat and coat all black looking at me smiling! I raced to my friend's house I was so shaken up! I knew he was the devil or something just as evil! My parents smudged the house! Never want to see him or that thing again!" MD

Florida Girl Describes Strange 'Hopping' Deer
A Florida girl and her friend encounter a male deer that stands on it back legs and hops across the road. After many years, she is still troubled by what she saw.
I recently came across this interesting account:
"I've never shared my story, as I'm not sure what it was. I don't live anywhere near a reservation; I live in Florida. I cannot think of any rational explanation for what I saw. I am wondering if I may have seen a skinwalker. Here is some backstory.
I lived in a city nearish Orlando and went to school with a girl who i will call cindy. m\My mom worked at a different school nearby as a teacher. We were going to move towards central Florida in a very rural, absolute middle of nowhere area after school ended. So it was Cindy and I’s last day of school, but my mom still had to teach for another week. She drove us out to the new house to stay there on our own for a week while she finished work and would stay with my grandma in that town.
So Cindy and I are so excited to have the new house to ourselves for a week and get to set up my room and stuff. We decided we wanted to still go on late walks like we used to and thought about going that night. We agreed we should go while its still light out because we don't know the area very well. All my area was a giant square shaped road or “block.” It wasn't really a block though because any houses there were just a mailbox and a gate on the road with a driveway that went out for like a half a mile until you saw the house.
So were walking on this square road around dusk. We get to the corner of the road and go to turn and watch this absolutely MASSIVE deer walk out of one side of the road from the trees like maybe 50 yards ahead of us. We kind of just stopped or slowed to look for a second because, although I'm from up north, she'd never seen a deer being from the city and I had never seen one so close. This deer also was a buck and again huge, so I told her not to get too close as it could be dangerous. All this happened in like 5 seconds while it walked to the middle of the road. Then this deer stops in its tracks, turns its head to look at us and just stared for what felt like 10 seconds realistically. We just kind of watched this deer like a starring contest. Then it turns its head forwards again, STANDS UP ON ITS HIND LEGS and starts limp walking into the other side of the trees. Then we just watched the trees rustle a ton and she goes “did you f*cking see that!” I was like “yeah,” and we turned around and quickly walked home.
We hadn't walked the rest of the week and mom came home earlier than expected, so we felt better. So here's where I'm not sure of anything. This deer's legs were not what they should look like. A deer's legs are opposite of ours or a dogs. When they stand on all fours their back knees point behind them instead of in front (hocked). This deer's legs didn't point behind them. its knees faced forwards as if they had been twisted around perfectly. My mom worked in her family butcher shop as a kid and had seen deer brought in with ankles that twisted and broke and healed completely in a new position. It makes sense as they can walk on 3 legs as that one heals. I cant see how this could have healed both of its legs or how they'd both twist so perfectly, or especially how it would walk on those legs alone. I think the fact that its legs were backwards is why it somewhat limped forwards although it clearly didn't have any broken or twisted bones. It didn't seem to be in pain, just stumbled. It had antlers. No idea if it had ears or a tail.
I had no idea what skinwalkers or any cryptids were at this point, all i paid attention to was its size, which had to be at LEAST 8 feet tall standing with a slight hunch, and its legs. I remember we mentioned it smelled like rotten eggs as well. i don't recall a coppery scent. It could just have been sulfur, I'm not sure. Despite looking this thing right in the eyes it was too far away to even see them (my horrible vision) so I can't tell you what those looked like either. I didn't look for all the telltale signs you look for in a skinwalker because again I'd never heard of them.
i have so many questions about this experience. Why didn't it try and attack us? Why was in in the middle of Florida? What the f*ck did I see? Cindy and I are no longer in contact, so I'm not sure if she'd even remember. I think the only reason it stuck with me is when I heard stories about skinwalkers, I felt my heart sink into my stomach and remembered this. I have a Navajo friend who refuses to speak about this with me, and I fully believe skinwalkers exist even if that's not what i saw. I've heard of fleshgaits but I have trouble believing other things because they don't have Navajo ties, which my friend does and clearly believes in. Maybe this deer was just severely deformed. Have you ever seen anything like this? This was about 5 or 6 years ago." GM
NOTE: I really doubt that this was a skinwalker, since that would involve a native witch transforming into another malevolent entity. Was it an apparition, or even a thoughtform? I believe that is very possible. Lon

News & Notes: Possible Bigfoot Activity on Keweenaw Peninsula, Michigan Property
A man in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan hears a nearby whooping sound and then, later that night, there are loud thumps on the outside wall of the house. Was it Bigfoot?
The following account was recently forwarded to me:
"This happened last week at my family’s homestead in the Keweenaw Peninsula of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (1st week of October 2020). I spent the past couple of weeks taking saunas and up keeping my family's property.
On the Thursday night (Oct 8th) I went outside of our farmhouse to relieve myself off the porch into the woods and my dog was out next to me. Right when I was done, a very loud and close by Whooooo-Yup-esque yell was heard by the nearby creek, maybe 20 yds away. My dog freaked and ran between my legs and ran inside immediately. I thought it was cougar making a call to lure my dog out to attack since that occurs and was logical. But the noise freaked me the out since it sounded very human, thinking that someone wanted to mess with me.
After we were inside our farmhouse upstairs laying in bed I heard a loud 'thump' against the house at the 2nd story height where the sleeping loft was. This happened twice and I thought maybe a tree branch hit the house in the wind. But it wasn’t windy. I eventually went to sleep. The noticeably other odd thing was it was absolutely quiet that evening and night. No bird noises, no nothing. And the dog acted in a strange way standing very close to me. Figured there was a cougar near by and she caught the smell.
So then I listened to owl shrieks and cougar calls on YouTube and went down a Bigfoot rabbit hole. A lot of the occurrences in the general area pointed towards a possible Bigfoot. Interesting and kind of freaky at the same time." HP

News & Notes: Possible Huge Bigfoot Captured on Alberta, Canada Trail Cam
A trail cam video from western Alberta, Canada was recently released. Could this be an actual Bigfoot?
This is a recently released trail cam video from a rural area in western Alberta, Canada. Four cameras were installed in the forest to keep tracks of the movement of wild wolves. The biologist who was working on this project did not expect to capture this image.
It was speculated by people that it could have been a bear, but the upper part of the creature in the video is much more like the head and shoulders of a gorilla. The creature in the video is about 3 meters high and more than a meter wide. It moves slowly behind the tree, as if stepping foot to foot.
If it is a Bigfoot, it may have been an ambush, since earlier the same camera filmed two deer in the same place, which quickly ran away.

Terrifying Cryptid Canine Close Encounters in Quebec, Canada
2 terrifying incidents with cryptid canines in Quebec, Canada. Both very close encounters in which each witness got a clear view of the beasts.
I recently came across the following encounter reports:
"An old friend and I saw a dogman in the Centre écologique Fernand-Seguin in Chateauguay in Quebec, Canada. It was the summer of 2008, if my memory is correct.
During a late evening hike with my friend in the park, like around 9-10 pm, we begin to be followed by an animal who acted very weird, emitting dog-like sound. When we returned to the entrance of the park, this thing cleverly followed us at the edge of the wood to avoid the light at the entrance of the park so we couldn't see it. Like it knew we can't see anything at night and the light will reveal it.
When we were running back to the parking area, my friend and I entered the car in a hurry. When he started the car, my friend saw the face of the beast 2-3 meters from the window, standing on 2 feet, staring at him with a creepy grin. My friend is a very tough guy normally and he knows the forest very well. He has seen lots of predators in the past. It was the first time I saw him terrified like that.
A couple of days ago, his father saw a muscular and massive black dog in Lery, a small town near Chateauguay, around their little cabin in the wood, close to a marsh. The creature had large shoulders and it confronted the father of my friend by staring at him from a distance of 5-6 meters. The moment the father of my friend tried to reach a kind of spear weapon to confront it, the creature ran away into the marsh very fast to never come back.
His father never told us about his story until we talked about our encounter. So maybe it was the same beast living in the area or a another one living in the same area. We will never truly know." Name withheld

"One of my uncles has a farm and one of his many pastures is located between La Montée Benoit and Le Rang Saint-Charles, Quebec. This is about 3 kilometers north of the border with New York state. My dad and I were chopping wood for the following winter.
We were at the edge of the pasture where the wooded area started. It must have been a little after lunch when my uncle stops by to speak with my dad. He said that one of his calves was missing and he couldn't find it. So we stop what we were doing to help find the missing animal. I was happy to get a break because my father had a habit of pushing me hard and I hated not being allowed to play with my friends during the weekend. Anyway, I dart off in the woods heading south through the thicket. I was running, ducking down and jumping through the branches just having a good time. I must have run 2 or 3 minutes at the most. Then as I'm running I hear a low gurgling growl. I put on the brakes.
It hard to put into words. This thing moved sideways from behind a thick bush. I could make out half of its face. It looked like it was on all four ''legs.' It was very large. I was standing up and it was as high as I. Maybe 1.2 meters off the ground. I looked like a black wolf with very pointy ears on the top of its head. I only made out its shoulder and left arm. I didn't see if it had 'hands' because the grass/brush was high. Its forearm was not proportioned right. It was way to long.
I just froze and felt like my heart was going to pop out of my mouth. I saw a grin from the half of the face that I could see. I must have stood there for maybe 5 seconds. But that's the longest five seconds of my life. I turned around without thinking and ran as fast as I could!
I got back to the pasture looking for my dad and uncle. When they finally got back I tried telling them what happened but they just said that I saw a big coyote. I've never seen a coyote or any dog smile before or since.
A week later my dad tells me that one of my uncle's employees found the calf dead, cut in pieces not too far from where I saw the huge canine. I still have nightmare's to this day." Name withheld

Sense of 'Warning' by 2 Witnesses of Bigfoot & Winged Humanoid
2 close encounter accounts, one with a Bigfoot and her offspring. The other is a wing-humanoid. Both witness 'felt' a sense of 'warning' before they realized what they were looking at.
The following accounts were recently sent to me:
“My ex and I were driving along a dirt road in Claysprings, Arizona. It was a nice day so we were driving along then I looked out the window I seen a hairy thing. What I noticed was its feet. That's what made me stop the car. It was in a fetal position. I could see the feet, the knees, elbows. There was a smaller hairy thing clutched by the bigger one.
So we stopped and I jumped out of the car and there was a creek. As I was ready to cross the creek, and soon as I stepped in the creek, all of a sudden I froze! Then all of my hair on my neck and arms stood straight up. I even looked at the hairs on my arms were standing up. Then I felt it watching me. That feeling I will never forget, like, I better turn around and take off.
Then my girlfriend jumps out too, all freaked out telling me to get back in the car because the mom Bigfoot was watching us because she felt it too. So we just jumped back in the car and took off. My girlfriend was all freaked out, telling me, 'Do you feel it watching us?' I was like, 'Heck, yeah!'
Then, years later, I was watching TV and it said not to go near it because the mom would have killed anything or person that came near its kid." MB

This occurred near Debden, Saskatchewan, Canada. Driving home after a day shift I believe around midnight. I didn’t not know why but something told me to stop and slowdown. It’s a moonlit night and I’m coming across a bush with a couple of thicker trees and in between them above ground I saw a human-like thing between two trees about 15 feet in the air. I sped off. I didn’t go outside at night for two weeks. It was on top between 2 trees. Like the mothman, Something like that. I didn’t stay long enough to find out." DK

Archive: Seeking An Interstellar 'Rosetta Stone'
NOTE: Since David Eckhart will my guest on Arcane Radio this coming Friday, I decided to dig out an archived article I wrote in 2014 in reference to extraterrestrial hieroglyphics and petroglyphs:
My April 14, 2010 post The Eckhart Encounters - Further Evidence included images of alien symbols that the experiencer had witnessed and written down. In some instances, alien craft observed by witnesses supposedly have unknown symbols marked on the exteriors. There are petroglyphs and hieroglyphics incorporated in ancient art and text...some that show unknown symbols. Are these human inspired or was it the result of extraterrestrial intervention? Possibly the first written account referencing non-terrestrial symbols is a story in Japanese folklore. Below are two similar but separate texts of the encounter.
Utsuro-bune no Banjyo (A Foreign Woman in the Hollow Boat)
The story takes place on February 22 in the spring of 1803. Offshore from a beach called Hara-yadori in the territory of Ogasawara Etchuu-no-kami (4000 koku'), who occupied a position named "Yoriai-seki" of Tokagawa shogunate at that time, a kind of boat was observed from the beach. People approached this boat using their small boats and eventually caught it. They towed it to the beach.
The boat was round and resembled a kind of kou-hako (a box used to burn incense). Its diameter was more than 3 ken (5.45 in). On the upper part of the boat, there were glass-fitted shoji (windows with lattice) and they were shielded by chan (a kind of waterproofed putty made from pine-tree gum). The bottom of this ship was reinforced by separated iron plates. This structure may protect the boat from destruction by sunken rocks. Since the glass-fitted shoji was transparent, the people could see the inside the boat, where they found a woman with strange features. Her hair and eyebrows were red, and her face was pink. It seemed that long white hair was added to her original hair.
This foreign woman held one square box whose size was about two shaku (60 cm) in her hands. It seemed that this box was very important to her because she held this box constantly, and she prohibited anyone from approaching it.
The objects found in this boat were investigated by the people. There was about two shou (3.6 liters) of water in the small bottle. There were two pieces of carpet, cake-like food, and kneaded meat. While people discussed what to do about this boat, the woman observed them peacefully.
An old villager said, "This woman may be a daughter of a king in a foreign country and might have been married in her home country. However, she loved another man after marriage and her lover was put to death. Since she was a princess previously, she could get sympathy and avoid the death penalty. She had been forced to be put in this boat and was left to the sea to be trusted to fate. If this conjecture is correct, her lover's severed head is inside the square box. In the past, a similar boat with a woman inside drifted ashore in a beach not far from here. In that incident, a severed head placed on a kind of chopping board was found inside the boat. Judging from this kind of secondhand information, the contents of the box may be similar. This may explain why the box is so important to her and she is always holding it in her hands. We may be ordered to use much money to investigate this woman and boat. Since there is a precedent for casting this kind of boat back out to sea, we had better put her inside the boat and send it away. From a humanitarian viewpoint, this treatment is too cruel for her. However, this treatment would be her destiny.
Many foreign characters were found inside this boat. I found similar characters on a British ship that recently arrived offshore from Uraga in Japan. From this observation, that woman may be a British, Bengali, or American princess. No one knows exactly.
Another similar description of the incident was found in Utsuro-bune no Koto (Concerning An Incident of The Hollow Boat)
On March 24, 1803, a strange boat drifted ashore on a beach named Haratono-hama in Hitachi state in Japan. The boat was hollow and its shape was similar to a rice-cooking pot. It had a kind of rimmed-edge at the center-level part of the boat. In the part above this edge, the boat was painted in black and had four small windows on four sides. All shoji (windows with lattice) were shielded by chan (a kind of waterproof putty made from pine-tree gum). The lower part of the boat was reinforced by steel bars. These bars looked to be made of Western-made iron of the highest quality. The height of the boat was one jyou, two shaku (3.64m) and its diameter was one jyou, eight shaku (5.45m).
A woman (or girl) was found inside this boat and her age appeared around twenty. She was about five shaku (1.5m) tall and her skin was white as snow. Her long hair vividly hung on her back. Her facial features were incomparably beautiful. Her clothes were strange and unrecognizable and her language was not understood by anyone. She held a small box in her hands and prohibited anyone from approaching this box.
Was this just a legend or was it inspired by a real event? According to the references, no records of the mysterious incident have been found in official documents in Japan. Hitachi state was not far from the capital Edo (Tokyo) and faced the Pacific Ocean. The beach in this state was very important for national security in the Tokugawa period (1603-1867). Therefore, most parts of eastern border of Hitachi state were occupied by the Mito-Tokugawa family who were the relatives of the Tokugawa (Shogun) family (Kimura 1980). Literature and history scholars find it difficult to believe that an incident involving a strange boat and a woman on a beach in Hitachi state was not been recorded in any official documents of the Tokugawa period. But, then again, a lot has happened in Japan since 1803.
So, what are they (aliens and our ancestors) trying to say? Below are several examples of petroglyphs and hieroglyphs...some are on rocks and some were copied from alien craft. Is there a similarity or connection between the symbols? What's the chance of ever finding a primer to decipher the markings? Lon
NOTE: As I've stated previously, I'm not keen on the idea of communicating with non-terrestrials...though, our ancestors probably did to some degree. Deciphering some of the clues may very well help us understand what we may be in store for in the future. Lon

A group of friends, camping outside of Pittsburg, Kansas, have a frightening encounter with a 7 ft upright canine. The beast chases them as they flee on 4-wheelers.
I recently received the following account:
"I was camping with some friends of mine just outside the city limits for Pittsburg, Kansas and we went out riding 4-wheelers. We turned down this one country road and we rode all to the end of the road and turned around.
When we were about halfway down the rode we saw what looked like a massive wolf standing on its hind legs in the ditch at the side of the road. We stopped and looked around and it was then standing in the middle of the road. It was about 6.5 -7.0 feet tall, about 4.5 Ft wide. It just stood there watching us. Then, all of a sudden, it started running at as. We took off and hit about 65 mph and it was about 10 feet behind chasing us. When we turned off the road it just stopped and started walking back.
We then went back to the campsite, piled everyone in my truck with shotguns and rifles going to look for it. When we got back to the same road we looked everywhere but couldn't find anything. This occurred last November." LM
