James Bond CITROEN, BMW, Chopped & Kitty Hawk Canines!

Yea, things get pretty wacky here in the Garage sometimes, but lets first start off with a brand new James Bond MASTERPRINT! This time, it’s the CITROEN 2CV from FOR YOUR EYES ONLY! One of the best Car Chase sequences of the time, this 2CV took a lickin’ and kept on tickin’ even through the trees!

DID YOU KNOW?? Rather than its standard 602 cm3 engine, the film’s vehicle was fitted with the flat4 engine taken from a Citroen GS which more than doubled the power. In the film, Bond is captured by Cuban hitman, whilst spying on his Spanish villa. He manages to escape when Gonzales is killed by a crossbow bolt, shot by the daughter of an intelligence operative he had assassinated. When thugs accidentally destroy Bond’s Lotus Esprit, the pair are forced to make their escape through the winding roads (and steep-sloping olive groves) in Melina’s Citroën 2CV6. Notably, in one scene the ultra light 2CV tips over and is quickly righted by hand. Citroën launched a special edition 2CV “007” to coincide with the film; it was fitted with the standard engine and painted yellow with “007” on the front doors and fake bullet hole stickers.

Also in today’s blast, Fireball sketches up a BMW 2002, memories of SEMA with Chop, Cut, Rebuild buddy DAN WOODS and another Wacky sketch of how the Wright Brothers REALLY learned to fly. At the Kitty Hawk Canine School!

UFO CARS reappear along with Cats, Bats & Porcupines…

Today, it’s an all-new UFO MASTERPRINT in the Garage to celebrate the 60’s Gerry Anderson Show! Imagine doing that show now… with Purple hair! You’d be laughed all the way to the Alien Bank! But if you’re GenXer, then you’ll remember one of the coolest Scifi Shows on TV, along with SPACE 1999. Yes, Fireball will be doing the Eagles!

DID YOU KNOW?? When Gerry Anderson came up with the concept of alien invaders for his new show UFO, he was initially stuck on coming up with an original reason for them to invade earth in secret. It wasn’t until he heard about the work of Dr. Christiaan Bernard and his pioneering first heart transplant operation that he thought that aliens coming to earth to steal human organs was a good plot for his series. He intended the second season of the series to focus on alien attempts to destroy the Moon, but when “UFO” was cancelled in 1975, he developed this idea into SPACE:1999!!

Also on today’s blast… a CATastrophy Sketch from his Official HOLLYWOOD MONSTERS Coloring Book, a Gotham REVENGE BAT STAMP, Diecast Buddy and head of Mattel, Bryan Benedict and Porkie’s ARCH CREW. BADASS BMW, Beatnik Bandit, Borgward and a Cool Cactus Rod!

What’s up, guys! Today in the land of COOL CARS, Fireball launches an exclusive BMW E46 FLOSSMAN MASTERPRINT as a Full Custom done specifically for PROJEKT CARS in Texas! DID YOU KNOW?? Most people think that BMW started as “Bavarian Motorworks,” but… nope. Originally named Bayerische Flugzeugwerke or “BFW,” meaning Bavarian Plane Manufacturing, the company eventually changed its name to Bayerische Motoren Werke (BMW) in 1917!! Yea, Germans do that…

But there’s more today as Fireball rocks the Hot Wheels BEATNIK BANDIT for the Diecast Crew, spots UNIQUE and RARE BORGWARDS on the streets of Ventura and SKETCHES UP a CRAZY-ASS CACTUS ROD driven by some RINGTAILS along the Grand Canyon! (Yea, that could happen and probably is RIGHT NOW!)

The BORGWARDS Isabella was one of the most popular German premium models in the 1950s. The brand was revived in the 21st century, with the Stuttgart-based Borgward Group AG designing and marketing them and manufactured in China. But after struggling to remain solvent, it filed for bankruptcy in 2022. Adios German Cars made in China… Time to make Fur-Covered Toilets.

New MAGNUM PI, Starsky Bat, 41 Caddy & Mac N’ Cheese!

Today’s Blast starts out as a crowd favorite with an all-new Cast Heavy MAGNUM PI FERRARI MASTERPRINT!! Makes us want the Helicopter too… but should Fireball do it?? Magnum PI was one of our favorite shows from the 80’s and it mastered a unique trend of CARS, LOCALES and SEXY COOL. Magnum’s Ferrari 308 GTS was on every kid’s wall!!

DID YOU KNOW?? (From ScreeRant) After the series ended in 1988, there was briefly talk of Thomas Magnum making the leap to the big screen. Tom Selleck would be joined by the original cast, and it would focus on Magnum’s return to the Navy and his subsequent missions. Tom Clancy wrote the script and it was pitched to Universal Studios.

Universal didn’t feel that the cast would be a big enough draw, even with Tom Selleck’s popularity in previous films like Three Men and a Baby and Lassiter. Though it was never made, it did free his schedule up to appear in the Australian Western Quigley Down Under, which Selleck has said is his favorite film role.

But… The time to do a MAGNUM MOVIE is NOW.
