DUEL TRUCK, Roth Rod , Bandit One, American Muscle & Aliens!

Scary is the theme as we get closer to HALLOWEEN, but today launches an absolute icon of creepiness with Fireball’s DUEL TRUCK MASTERPRINT!! Scare your friends outta your Garage, Home of Shop with this awesome rusted behemoth MOVIE CAR ART along with MUGS & TEES! Hit the GARAGE NOW!

DID YOU KNOW?? Spielberg praised how the truck was handled in an exceptionally safe manner by 50 year old stunt driver Carey Loftin. Although it appears the truck is driving at a recklessly unsafe speed along the winding California roads, it is actually not going more than 30 mph! Only one truck was used while filming the original TV movie, which was famously destroyed when it plunged off a cliff at the end. But after Duel aired on TV, Universal wanted to release it in theaters, and 74 minutes was too short for a theatrical release, so additional scenes were filmed.

Happy Monday! Let’s get this COOL CAR Party started with an all-new FANTASY ISLAND MASTERPRINT that brings Paradise… and a bit of Sinister DoBADerry into your Garage, Home of Studio! We’re you a fan of “DA PLANE??” Then you know that evil lurks…

BUT DID YOU KNOW?? FANTASY ISLAND began as two made-for-television movies… and did so well that it became a series which aired from 1978 to 1984. Every Saturday night, fans would wait with excitement to hear Tattoo yell “De plane! De plane!” to find out who was heading to the Creepy Island that week. People could come to live out their fantasies on the mysterious island, overseen by Mr. Roarke, but with anything… there was always a price. The network and producer Aaron Spelling actually wanted different actors in the lead role and most of the time, Spelling won. But not against “Rich Corinthian Leather!”

TRUCKSTER, ’67 Charger, Jade Idol, 600, Knievel & CLOCKWORK!

As of this BLAST, the NATIONAL LAMPOON FAMILY TRUCKSTER is in the #1 slot for fans of the Garage and it’s easy to know why… ’cause it’s just frikkin’ cool, that’s what! And if you’ve seen the movie, then all you want to do is buy a Wagon and hit the road!

BUT DID YOU KNOW?? A heavily-modified 1979 Ford LTD Country Squire Station Wagon, the design, and cringe-worthy title of Wagon Queen Family Truckster were the brainchild of George Barris. Five Wagon Queens were built for the movie, primarily to be wrecked for the vehicle’s never-ending series of mishaps. For the iconic ‘turn off the highway scene’, stunt coordinator Dick Ziker made a bet against other crew members that he would be able to jump the Family Truckster more than 50 feet before crashing into the desert floor. Ziker won the bet. Ouch.

Also in today’s blast, Fireball scoots a ’67 Dodge Charger along PCH in search of Car Shows, a super hot SKETCH of Gene Winfield’s JADE IDOL smack outta his Coloring Book, Fireball’s rendition of Jeff Styles’ EVEL KNIEVEL VAN that’s premiering at SEMA this year and a CELEB SHOT of Malcolm McDowell and the car from A CLOCKWORK ORANGE! Robin Gibbons lent Stanley Kubrick his Probe 16 (AB/4) for use in filming in 1971. In the movie, it’s referred to as the “Durango 95!”

ESCAPE FROM NY, The King, Hornet, Hot Rods & CRISPY PLISSKIN

If there were ever a singular source for AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE, you’ve found it in THE FIREBALL TIM GARAGE! And today, we launch a new ESCAPE FROM NY Duke Cadillac MASTERPRINT that beeegggg a new ESCAPE movie! And there might be one on the flaming horizon!! DID YOU KNOW?? The film, set in the near-future world of 1997, concerns a crime-ridden United States, which has converted Manhattan Island in New York City into the country’s sole maximum security prison. Air Force One is hijacked by anti-government insurgents who deliberately crash it into the walled borough. Though the film takes place in New York City, director JC said he and his crew couldn’t film some of the more ambitious sequences there because it would have “tied up the whole city too much,” so they went looking for an alternate location, and found one in St. Louis, Missouri. Why St. Louis? Well, a few years prior to filming, a fire destroyed parts of that city’s waterfront, leaving large areas of ruined buildings and empty streets that provided the perfect post-apocalyptic look.

VEGA$ T-BIRD BABY, Celebs, Rods and a Zany Zipster!

One of our favorite shows here in the Garage was VEGA$ with Robert Urich. If that show didn’t make you want to hit the SLOTS, SHOWS and SEXINESS that is Vegas, nothing did! So it was only a matter of time before Fireball sketched up THE RED THUNDERBIRD! Now as a MASTERPRINT and more…!

DID YOU KNOW?? Vega$ was an American crime drama television series starring Robert Urich that aired on ABC from September 20, 1978, to June 3, 1981, with the pilot episode airing April 25, 1978. It ran for five years, a total of 106 episodes aired over 5 seasons. In the final season, only 19 episodes of the originally-planned 22-episode season were filmed at the time the show was cancelled in 2008. The final episode ended with a cliffhanger with many issues left unresolved.

DID YOU KNOW?? Simon Templar was a Robin Hood-like figure known as “The Saint” – plausibly from his initials, but the exact reason for his nickname is unknown. The television series was broadcast by ITV in the UK between 1962 and 1969, and its overseas success made Moore a household name.
