BAT 66, Vintage Hot Rod, Woodie Parade & NEW COLORING BOOK!

Good morning you WEIRDO WAGGLERS and welcome to today’s AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE!! We hit this Friday like a KAPOW with Fireball Classic Cool 1966 BAT ART! Check it out on Mugs, Canvas & Tees… and even a COZY BLANKY!

DID YOU KNOW?? The Batmobile was built from a one-off 1955 Lincoln Futura concept car, which originally cost Ford an estimated $250,000 to hand-build in Italy. Some “gadgets” were made from everyday items; the “jet engine” was a 5-gallon paint can, and the functioning oil slick sprayers were made from lawn sprinklers. The original Futura engine and transmission had problems during filming, including overheating and battery issues. They were later replaced with a more reliable Ford Galaxie engine and transmission. The car was initially painted a dull gray, but Barris repainted it with 40 coats of high-gloss black paint with “fluorescent cerise” (orange/red) stripes to make it “pop” on screen.

And meanwhile, ON PLANET FIREBALL… The Ball hits CONEJO VALLEY CARS & COFFEE, spots Timmy McDougall’s Vintage Hot Rod! PLUS, December 14th brings the 22ND ANNUAL MALIBU CHRISTMAS WOODIE PARADE down PCH for a Paaaarteyyyy!! Watch out for the cars! THIS WEEKEND… look out for the Ball at THE GALPIN CAR SHOW!!

The all-new LANE MOTOR MUSEUM COLORING BOOK is out!! Get it in Fireball’s Store or head to Nashville and see the actual Collection!!

Have you seen the TRAILER for Fireball’s upcoming “GIMME MY MONEY” Movie?? WATCH NOW!

Have a great weekend, folks!

EMERGENCY, Auction, Blankies, Rudolph & New Car Show Safari!

What’s up you FOOLISH FARTOLOGISTS and welcome to today’s EMERGENCY AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE! And to celebrate, it’s Mantooth Time with Fireball’s SQUAD 51 ART! What’s a Fartiologist, you ask? Well, it’s a stinky job, but someone has to do it…

DID YOU KNOW? Emergency! was a TV show that inspired real-life paramedic programs, and its production featured a real fire station and a family affair with actors. The real Station 127 in Carson, CA, was used for external shots, and the show’s call sign, KMG365, is still a valid FCC license for the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) station. Actor Julie London and her husband Bobby Troup were married during the show’s run, and producer Jack Webb (Adam 12) was London’s ex-husband. While the interior scenes were filmed on a soundstage, the actual vehicles, Squad 51 and Engine 51, have been preserved and are now on display at the LOS ANGELES COUNTY FIRE MUSEUM and in the early years of the series, actors Kevin Tighe and Randolph Mantooth performed many of their own stunts.

And meanwhile, ON PLANET FIREBALL… Tomorrow is the JULIEN’S AUCTION at the Petersen Museum! Tons of James Bond and Pop Culture items are being auctioned including Fireball’s STREET TUNER CHALLENGE MINI. And for a car with only 32 miles on the ODO… and about a $100K in Mods, IT’S A STEAL!

NEW SWAG!! EMERGENCY BLANKIES are in the Garage for those upcoming Cold Winter Nights along with SQUAD 51 Mugshots for Cocoa! Want a Blankie with another car? Reach out and TELL US!

Perusing Ventura for Winter Wonderswag, Fireball enlists the help of friends. Can you NAME THEM??

SPOTTED! This weird and wonderful 70’s KUSTOM was built off of a ’73 Lincoln. And it’s Pimpin’ Funkadelic! But would you paint it a different color??

And lastly… an ALL-NEW CAR SHOW SAFARI Episode is up! Watch it on Fireball’s Facebook and give LILY a Heart!

HOLIDAY HOT ROD, 70’s, Ecto, Maybelline & I Dream of Jeannie

Good Day you HOLIDAY HORNDOGS and welcome to today’s 1st Holiday Blast of AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE! Here in the garage, it’s a HOT ROD, HOOLIGANS and the Best Dang Automotive Art on the Planet! Just for YOU! Fireball’s got NEW ART DAILY, MUGSHOTS & Holiday ADVENTURES lined up and coming your way! Stick with us!!

DID YOU KNOW?? Santa’s Sleigh originated from a combination of Dutch, Scandinavian and Norse traditions, but was cemented in modern lore by Clement Clarke Moore’s 1823 poem, “A Visit from St. Nicholas.” The poem famously described a miniature sleigh pulled by eight tiny reindeer named Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, and Blitzen… who enabled Santa to travel the world in a single night. Norse God THOR’s chariot, pulled by two magical goats, was one potential influence on the idea of a flying, gift-giving figure propelled by magical animals. In the 19th century, a small children’s book published in 1821 contained the first illustration of Santa with reindeer, a precursor to Moore’s more famous version. Only question is… was one of the Reindeer named “V8?”

And meanwhile, ON PLANET FIREBALL… The Ball discovers an unusual 70’s Custom built over a ’73 Lincoln Town Car in the 805. What’s the story? There was no one around to tell it! But boy, was it weird. PLUS, Fireball’s NEW 2026 CALENDARS are in for the Holidays and there’s more coming! Snag one and we’ll GIVE TO POOCHES!

After a screening at SONY, Fireball spots the original ECTO 1 on the lot. Nobody’s looking, so maybe a spin is in order?? And don’t forget to check out the MUGSHOT!

COLORING BOOKS are gettin’ a NEW ONE THIS WEEK! What is it? Well, it’s for an awesome Car Museum in Nashville and it’s EPIC! Stay tuned and until then, enjoy this SKETCH of Gene Winfield’s MAYBELLINE!

And lastly, Fireball’s heading back to Hollywood for the 2025 Christmas Parade and that means a visit to the Hollywood Museum to pay homage to JEANNIE! Join us right here on the Blog as he hit’s his TINSLE-TOWN ADVENTURE!

NEW BLADE RUNNER ART, Hart to Hart, Rods, Chitty & Cadillac

Happy Friday you ROTUND RIPPERS and welcome to today’s futuristic AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE! And to celebrate the upcoming TV MiniSeries on Prime, BLADE RUNNER 2099… Fireball busts out RICK DECKARD’S POLICE CAR! Now, Mugshotted!!!

DID YOU KNOW?? The full-sized “Deckard Sedan” Movie Car was built by Gene Winfield, using the chassis, engine and floor pan of a 1972 Volkswagen Super Beetle. In the film’s lore, Deckard’s personal vehicle (Police Sedan Number 56) was an older model that had its flight capabilities stripped and was used only for ground traffic, with added guard wheels and impact bumpers. The vehicle, along with the flying “Spinner,” car design was by the legendary futurist concept artist Syd Mead. The sedan prop made an appearance in other media, including a repair shop scene in the film Trancers (1985) and the music video for the Earth, Wind & Fire song “Magnetic.” Despite plans for 54 vehicles, budgetary constraints meant only 25 total vehicles were built for the film and director Ridley Scott reportedly had most of them destroyed after filming… with only about five surviving the cull.

And meanwhile, ON PLANET FIREBALL… a Hollywood Collectible HART TO HART Mug, Fireball perusing Hot Rods at a Local Show and the STC POLICE MINI AUCTION is only 1 week away, SO GIT ON IT! Today’s Movie Poster Art is the Classic CHITTY, CHITTY, BANG, BANG Art by Icon FRANK FRAZETTA! And don’t forget about Deckard’s Movie Car Mug! Build your Collection here!

PLUS, Fireball’s whipsnap of a Monster Diecast Cadillac by GOKART MOZART! Does this need to be an Automotive Movie Car Mug? LEAVE A COMMENT!

THX 1138 ART, Grease Hot Rod, Barbarella & Alabama Slamma

Good morning you VILE VADERLETTES and welcome to today’s underground AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE! New Art is breakin’ free and today… it’s the badass LOLA T70 from the George Lucas Student Film THX 1138!

DID YOU KNOW?? THX 1138 is a 1971 sci-fi film that was George Lucas’s directorial debut. Fun facts include that its title is based on Lucas’s college phone number, the film used extras from a drug rehabilitation center and featured shaved-head actors as a publicity stunt, and character names often have hidden meanings like “LUH” for “love” and “SEN” for “sin.” The film’s setting is a dystopian future where citizens are under constant surveillance and forced to take drugs to suppress emotions.

The Lola T70s in THX 1138 were real sports cars that were modified for the film, and one had a racing history with actor James Garner. Because the Lola T70s were outdated and relatively inexpensive by 1971, they served as perfect, affordable stand-ins for the movie’s future-tech cars, despite their powerful V8 engines. The car chases were filmed in the real, unfinished San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) subway tunnels, and the V8 sounds were later replaced with jet engine noise for the final cut.

And meanwhile, ON PLANET FIREBALL… GREASE IS THE WORD!! Residing now at the Petersen, this 1948 Hot Rod has tremendous history in the show. The Cast and Music were awesome and now it’s IN THE GARAGE!! Check out the Mugshots and Art!

Today’s MOVIE POSTER ART is the Scifi Epic BARBARELLA, Art by the Brothers Hildebrant. Prompted by Star Wars, the Hildebrandts’ Barbarella poster was created for a 1979 re-release of the film, which was originally released in 1968. The reissue was an attempt to capitalize on the success of Star Wars, which had made science fiction and fantasy popular again.

Fireball’s ALABAMA SLAMMA is part of his Zany Zipsters Book! Who out there is from ‘BAMA!?? And the 2026 MUSCLE CAR ART CALENDARS ARE IN NOW!!

And lastly, today’s BEST OF SHOW features Fireball whipsnappin’ the James Bond LOTUS ESPRIT TURBO from “For You Eyes Only!” PLUS, don’t forget to watch this week’s CAR SHOW SAFARI for upcoming Cars Shows and Action Movie News!

WICKED TRAIN ART, Wednesday, Mini Police, Mask & Meteor!

Good morning JAR JAR BUTTHEADS and welcome to today’s wicked AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE! And to celebrate an October Monday, Fireball let’s loose his WICKED TRAIN ART!! Let’s get this Badassery started!!

DID YOU KNOW? The Wicked Train is a real, physical object, not a CGI creation. It weighed a massive 16 tons, is 106 feet long, and runs on a 1,000-foot track. The impressive size meant that it took two full days to move the train and set it up for filming. The design is a whimsical, steampunk-like aesthetic with intricate, exposed clockwork gears. This aligns with the Wizard of Oz’s technology, which production designer Nathan Crowley (who designed the Batman Tumbler) described as relying on “clocks and clockwork” rather than earthly technology like steam. Crowley found inspiration for the design in Louis XV-era automatons and the work of watchmaker and illusionist Jean-Eugène Robert-Houdin.

And meanwhile, ON PLANET FIREBALL… The Cast of WEDNESDAY Season 2 and the super cool 1938 PONTIAC SILVER STREAK LIMO (Snag the Mug!), a cool write-up in the UK Tuner Mag COX about the MASK MUSCLE CAR, the STC POLICE MINI is being auctioned on November 6th at the Pete… and it’s badass!

Grab the WICKED TRAIN MUGSHOT and we’ll send 10% to Dog Rescues! Woof! And today’s MOVIE POSTER ART is this awesome nostalgic METEOR ART by Michael Whipple!

Michael R. Whipple is a surrealist artist from Salt Lake City, Utah, who also created illustrations and posters for Hollywood films in the mid-1970s and early 1980s. In 1984, he changed his name to Sky Jones, and later to Siren Bliss. Vintage posters by Michael R. Whipple and his alter egos can be found on online marketplaces.

DID YOU KNOW?? Three 1966 Ford Thunderbird convertibles were used in the film, with the iconic cliff scene being an illusion achieved with visual effects after a stunt car was rigged to jump. The actresses were both inside the car for the take leading up to the jump, while the other cars were used for different purposes, like interior shots. Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis were adamant about being in the car for the take, wanting the audience to believe it was them. One of the cars used in the film sold for three times the average price of a similar car because the armrest was signed by Brad Pitt and the visor by Geena Davis!

And meanwhile, ON PLANET FIREBALL… Team Fireball will be hitting the MALIBU CHRISTMAS WOODIE PARADE on December 14th with a ton of Woodies Cruisin’ through Malibu… and possibly a sighting of Bu Icon JANE SEYMOUR! BOND CITROEN, Celebs, NYC Grub & Jim Carrey in THE JETSONS

What’s up you BOMBASTIC BUTTHEADS and welcome to today’s AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE! Let’s 007 this morning with Fireball’s CITROEN 2CV Art from Bond’s FOR YOUR EYES ONLY! Complete and chock fulla Bullet Holes! Check out the MUGS in the Garage NOW!

DID YOU KNOW?? The 1981 James Bond film “For Your Eyes Only” features a memorable car chase with an unassuming Citroën 2CV, which included some clever movie magic to make it exciting. The standard 2CV was far too slow for a Bond chase scene. So, for the movie, the cars were fitted with more powerful flat-four engines from a Citroën GS, more than doubling the original horsepower.
