Today it’s MCQUEEN’S JAG, USS VDub and Master Builder GENE
Today, Fireball SKETCHES Steve McQueen’s 1956 JAGUAR XKSS as a MASTERPRINT!! More than just a classic car… it was a symbol of his passion for speed and style.
“Known as the “King of Cool,” McQueen had a deep affinity for racing and high-performance vehicles, and the XKSS was a perfect fit for his tastes. This iconic roadster, which is a street version of the D-type racer, combined elegance with power, boasting a 3.4-liter inline-six engine and sleek, aerodynamic design. McQueen’s XKSS was not just a showpiece but a regular on the road, reflecting his genuine enthusiasm for driving. Alongside his roles in movies like “Le Mans,” his passion for driving cemented the XKSS’s status as a legend in automotive history. McQueen’s 1956 XKSS remains a cherished artifact, embodying his adventurous spirit and enduring legacy in the world of motorsports and cinema. Currently at the Petersen…”
Also in today’s Blast… Fireball goes into DEEP SPACE via the U.S.S. VDUB, seeking out NEW COOLNESS and NEW ADVENTURES. Imagine a Planet of all Dubs? We’re there…
Fireball on Gene… “I met GENE WINFIELD in the early 80’s and we instantly became good friends. Talked for hours about cars in film, including his builds for BLADE RUNNER, STAR TREK and TOTAL RECALL. But the thing that impressed me the most was Gene’s humbleness and gratitude towards his ability to do what he loved for an entire lifetime. He said it was a choice… A choice most people don’t make. I took that… and ran… fast. If you can’t be GRATEFUL, then you can’t WIN.”
Today’s BEST OF SHOW… This super cool OFF-ROADER is dialed in! But WHAT IS IT?? WATCH NOW!

Fireball has it out with the DUKES… by DUKING a DUKE-OUT
The term LIVERY comes from racing (Originally a Servant’s Uniform) and it helps to identify a vehicle by it’s COLORS. And in the case of the DUKES OF HAZZARD, it’s Orange, a ’01’ and a Confederate Flag on top. But what would happen if that LIVERY were used for other CARS… and other things? Let’s have a DUKE-OUT…!
What you’ll see below are some samples of stealing the Duke Livery and blanketing it on top other vehicles… and characters, creating a Mish-Mash of Frankenstein-Type cars. Fireball loves doing this and plans on doing WAY MORE. But what should he do next? Toss out an idea and see what GELS. He may whipsnap it!!
Below is Fireball’s regular GENERAL LEE, then a Star Wars DUKE OF SAND, DUKE OF SPACE, DUKE of SPEED (or as one fan mentioned, “Speed Hazzard!”), DUKE VADER and finally, ROBODUKE! DUKES everywhere! All are available in the Garage in various forms so search ’em out, but the vein of GOLD is still there’s MUCH MORE MINING to be done! If you don’t see something your looking for, just REACH OUT!
Along with Fireball best of MOVIE & TV CAR SKETCHES, there’s more coolness comin!! Stay toooooned!!

MOD SQUAD, Pacer, Porsche and Big Dog Leno cruise the Garage
Today, Fireball launches a new MOD SQUAD MASTERPRINT and more! Although they did a rather unsuccessful remake of the original classic TV Series that ran for five seasons on ABC from September 24, 1968 to March 1, 1973, the CARS of the show were cool. Number one being this 1971 DODGE CHALLENGER Convertible in Light Gold. Check out the cool selection!
Introduced in the autumn of 1969 for the 1970 model year, the Challenger was one of two Chrysler E-body cars, the other being the slightly smaller Plymouth Barracuda. 383-cu.in. Chrysler built 27,377 Dodge Challengers for 1971, including only 1,857 convertibles, of which 167 were equipped with the 383 Magnum engine and 41 of those also came with a four-speed manual.

ALL-NEW SKETCH!! THE BRADY BUNCH rolls into the Garage!
Had this request for some time now and finally got around to it. THE BRADY BUNCH Wagon has been an all-time favorite TV Car for many over the years and actually cemented Wagons as a stable for Families in the States. On of their wagons was this 1971 PLYMOUTH SATELLITE in Golf Leaf Metallic. All the Brady cars in the TV show were either Plymouth or Chryslers due to an agreement between the Car Company and the heads of the show. But DID YOU KNOW… The Original Title for the Brady Bunch was called THE BRADY BROOD? Yikes!
Also on today’s SKETCH COOLNESS is this Hot COBRA from the Official Mike Zarnock Hot Wheels Coloring Book! PLUS, Fireball’s take on FAST & FURIOUS for another cover of Diecast Heroes pits a Japanese Tuner against All-American Muscle. WHO’D WIN?
And finally, Fireball and MAGNUS WALKER in the early stages of creating Magnus’ Coloring Book. A Solar-Punked Porsche POWERHOUSE! Stay tuned for more sketches of that one!
SKETCHES on deck are coming from EMERGENCY, ANDY GRIFFITH & THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E!!
Today’s BEST OF SHOW Episode is this Full Blown Custom 1969 CORVETTE spotted in Montecito at the Santa Barbara Cars & Coffee! Wow!
Coming up THIS WEEKEND is coverage from the SANTA PAULA CRUISE NIGHTS, CONEJO VALLEY CARS & COFFEE, SHINE SUPPLY GRAND OPENING & More!

VACATION TRUCKSTER, Shark Attack and the MYSTERY of 2125…
One of the most famous MOVIE CARS on the planet isn’t driven by a MAN IN BLACK. It’s the National Lampoon TRUCKSTER from FAMILY VACATION! And that… is driven by Clark Griswold. But what makes the Truckster so unique? It’s the most extreme… and weirdest Station Wagon ever built.
The car was a heavily modified 1979 Ford LTD Country Squire Wagon built by Warner Bros, the movie being released on July 29, 1983. It created a massive uptick in Family Vacations across the country… and a few people trying to jump their wagons. (That didn’t end well, but looked pretty good on video.
When was the last time you WATCHED IT??
Today, Fireball launches an all new MASTERPRINT along with several other TRUCKSTER items! Check ’em out!
Also on today’s blast is a SHARK ATTACK SKETCH, inspired for a Coloring Book. The AMPHICAR Model 770 is all amphibious and was was launched at the 1961 NEW YORK AUTO SHOW. It was made in West Germany from 1961 to 1968, with production ceasing in 1965. And yes… it worked.
Next up is the MYSTERY OF 2125. No one really knows where this location exists, but some say that although it looks outside, it’s really deep inside the Caves of Maine. And what do they do at 2125? Well, Fireball knows… but he’s not telling, because he started it. But of you ask him, he’ll distract you with HOT WHEELS, give you a Cookie and maybe tell you a Top Secret Story. But we do know that 2125 began as a secret Mason Temple and is now rumored to be the home of the ARTISAN SPEC, highest order of the Illuminati. But hey, you didn’t hear it from us.
CLASSIC COOL is here!!! Check out all the BEST in Classic TV Wear! MORE coming every day!
Fireball’s CAR SHOW SCHEDULE has be UPDATED! Check it out!!
And finally, today’s BEST OF SHOW is a 650hp, Suicide Door ’55 CHEVY that’s outta control!! WATCH!!

HAWAII 5-O MERCURY, Aquabus, Scifi Hot Spot and Bare Metal!
Today’s Fireball Blast celebrates the King of Kops with Steve McGarrett’s MERCURY PARK LANE from HAWAII 5-O! A fantastic original series that ran for 12 seasons on CBS from September 20, 1968 to April 5, 1980… and continues in reruns. It was the longest-running Police Drama in American television history. And although McGarrett’s car changed over the years, this MERC PARK LANE was one of the best… and now a new Fireball SKETCH!
Also in today’s blast is this fun AQUABUS mashing the tiny boats of Vancouver with a sleek awesomeness of a VDub Bus for the helluvit. The ultimate undersea craft, baby!
PLUS, Fireball’s final render of “HOT SPOT” done for the cover of DIECAST HEROES Collectors Journal depicting his very own Superhero concept that uses MIND POWER to Multiply Worlds. Could come in handy if you need a planet of all Fembots, right?

Deloreans, Surf Wagons & STARSKY MASTERPRINTS hit the Garage
Invariably, I get asked if I designed the STARSKY Torino… but since I was 11-years old when the show came out in 1976, I say “I’m not that old, buddy…” And even though I’m a fairly young Grandfather, I’ve gotten to work on many films and do tons of cars. But Starsky’s Torino was one of my favorites as the “Striped Tomato…” now with a super cool MASTERPRINT in the Garage! Plus more…!
Also on today’s blast is a Starsky Slide SKETCH, this Volcanic KUSTOM DELROEAN used for the Cover of DIECAST HEROES, (Yea, I know… the Motor’s too small) and some shots from this weekend’s SANTA BARBARA Cars & Coffee visited by a Facel Vega and a crazy-cool 600+/700ftlb ’57 Chevy!! Wow…
Today’s BEST OF SHOW comes outta Camarillo with a sick ratty SURF WAGON! I’m in… WATCH NOW!

HARDCASTLE, Puma, Spaceships and VDUB DRAGSTERS!!
Every day here at the FT Garage, Fireball busts out more MOVIE & TV SHOW Coolness. And today’s no different with NEW ART from HARDCASTLE AND MCCORMICK!
“Hardcastle and McCormick was an Action Crime Drama Series that aired on ABC from September 18, 1983, through May 5, 1986.” Many of you were in High School then and IT… WAS… AWESOME. Especially, the COYOTE X which went through multiple Season iterations. Unfortunately, the series didn’t last but it was cool while it was here. Check out the NEW TEES and all-new MASTER PRINT! Did anyone snag a DIECAST??
Also today, Fireball SKETCHES the Classic PUMA GTE. Built in Sao Paulo, Brazil by Puma Automóveis Ltda. WITH tons of models, it was established in 1963 as Sociedade de Automóveis Lumimari, then became Puma Veículos e Motores the following year, and Puma Indústria de Veículos SA in 1974. Here it sits, ready for LAUNCH!
Still another SKETCH from the Cover of DIECAST HEROES Collector’s Journal depicting an insane Theater of Sci-Fi Nerdologists!
Today’s celeb is Fireball’s buddy TAI BABALONIA! Remember her as a Skating Champion in the Olympics? She was awesome and loves cars, too!
And finally, today’s BEST OF SHOW is this VOLKSWAGEN TYPE3 Dragster spotted in the Val. Too hot to Trot!!
