The Glowforge Aura is the Perfect Way to Get Started with Laser Cutting
Laser cutters have long been a staple in various industries, offering precision and versatility in cutting and engraving materials. However, these machines’ complexity and high price tags have limited their accessibility to professionals. That is until now. Enter Glowforge Aura, a revolutionary laser cutter designed to make the technology more approachable and affordable for a wider audience.
Glowforge Aura is the latest addition to the Glowforge family, renowned for its commitment to ease of use and innovation. Priced at $1,199, the Aura is smaller, more affordable, and easier to operate than its predecessors. Its user-friendly features make it a perfect tool for educational institutions, crafting enthusiasts, and light prototyping.
One of the standout features of the Aura is its unparalleled ease of use.Glowforge has gone above and beyond to simplify the laser-cutting process. The built-in camera scans a QR code on the material, automatically selecting the appropriate cutting, scoring, or engraving settings. While Glowforge provides a selection of materials tailored for the machine, users can experiment with their own materials using the machine’s built-in settings as a starting point.
The Glowforge Aura can carve a wide range of materials, including wood, leather, acrylic, paper, stone, and even metal. This versatility opens up endless possibilities for creative projects. Whether you’re designing intricate jewelry, customizing phone cases, or crafting prototypes, the Aura delivers exceptional results across various materials.
The Aura offers flexibility when it comes to ventilation. It can be vented out a window or used indoors with the help of an air filter. The air filter seamlessly pairs with the Aura, automatically extracting smoke and fumes from the device during operation. However, it’s worth noting that some users have reported issues with the air filter failing to activate consistently. The Glowforge team has acknowledged this and is working on software updates to address the problem.
“We just implemented your suggestion: if the printer isn’t connected, the button turns teal and can be used as a switch to toggle between off, medium, and full power,” shared Glowforge CEO, Dan Shapiro. “That should serve as a backup in case anyone in the future winds up here again. That update just went out so all new owners will have it.”
The Aura’s built-in camera takes the guesswork out of the cutting process. The web-based control software lets users see exactly where the cuts will be made, ensuring precise material placement. Users can select the type and order of cuts, optimizing the workflow for their specific projects.
However, some users noted minor discrepancies between the software’s visual representation and the cutting area. Careful alignment and occasional adjustments may be necessary for intricate designs.
Know the Limitations. There are very fewWhile the Glowforge Aura offers impressive ease of use and versatility, it is essential to consider its limitations. The machine is designed for craft-grade applications and may not meet the demands of professional users accustomed to more industrial-grade laser cutters. The Aura has certain material thickness limitations, so projects requiring engraving on materials over an inch thick may not be feasible.
Additionally, some users have reported initial difficulties with certain materials, such as laser-engraving phone cases. However, with patience and experimentation, these challenges can be overcome.
Glowforge Aura integrates seamlessly with the Magic Canvas functionality, a feature that eliminates users needing to design their own prints. With Magic Canvas, users can transform simple descriptions into tangible art forms, including hardwood jewelry, slate coasters, and more. This functionality opens up a world of possibilities for crafters and those looking to engage in creative projects without needing advanced design skills.
Testing the Glowforge AuraIn testing the Glowforge Aura, various materials and applications were explored. The paper emerged as a surprising favorite, with users utilizing the Aura to create intricate spray-paint stencils and functional parts that were sturdier and faster to produce than 3D printing. The Aura’s accessibility and affordability make it an ideal tool for hobbyists, maker spaces, and crafters seeking to create repeatable patterns and prototypes.
Glowforge offers a range of laser cutters to cater to different user needs and budgets. The original Glowforge Pro, priced at $7,000, and the Glowforge Plus, priced at $5,000, target the advanced amateur market. These machines provide additional features and capabilities for those seeking more professional-grade performance. The Aura complements these models by offering a more accessible entry point into the world of laser cutting.
The Glowforge Aura is now available for purchase directly from the Glowforge website and select retail channels. With its user-friendly interface, versatile material compatibility, and affordability, the Aura is set to empower a new generation of creators, from students to hobbyists and crafters alike.
As technology advances, the Glowforge Aura stands at the forefront of making laser cutting more accessible and intuitive. By combining ease of use, versatile material compatibility, and innovative features, Glowforge is revolutionizing the crafting and prototyping landscape. The Aura’s arrival heralds a new era of creativity and opens doors for individuals to unleash their imagination in ways never thought possible.

WHAT COULD GO WRONG? Far Left Hollywood Figures Are Comparing Their Strike to the French Revolution | The Gateway Pundit
The current strike in Hollywood by writers and actors has brought the entertainment industry to a screeching halt for the first time in years.
One former studio head has already said that if this strike goes on too long, it could cause Hollywood to collapse.
The people who are doing the striking are, for the most part, on the far left, politically speaking, and are now comparing their strike to the French Revolution.
Do any of these people know how that chapter of history ended?
Variety reports:
If the battle echoes the Book of Samuel for some, Fran Drescher, the sitcom star turned actors union leader, preferred to evoke the French Revolution, likening SAG-AFTRA’s struggle to the proletariat’s rebellion against an out-of-touch monarchy. “Eventually the people break down the gates of Versailles,” the “Nanny” star said during a press conference officially announcing the strike.
As if on cue, Disney CEO Bob Iger countered with his own let-them-eat-cake sound bite, telling CNBC’s David Faber a few hours earlier that when it came to negotiating with striking writers and actors, “there’s a level of expectation that they have that is just not realistic.” The mogul, who stands to earn as much as $27 million in total compensation this year, delivered his blunt assessment from Sun Valley, Idaho, a bucolic ski resort that hosts Allen & Co.’s annual media conference — an event that some call “summer camp for billionaires.”
Fittingly, actors joined Writers Guild of America members on the picket lines on July 14 — Bastille Day. Ron Perlman, the “Sons of Anarchy” star, adopted a Robespierre-like tone in a viral video message posted to Instagram: “The motherfucker who said we’re going to keep this thing going until people start losing their houses and their apartments … we know who said that and where he fucking lives,” he said, referencing a Deadline report that quoted an anonymous studio executive about dragging out WGA talks to the point where its members face financial ruin. “You wish that families starve while you’re making 27 fucking million dollars a year for creating nothing? Be careful, motherfucker. Be really careful.”
Most people on the right don’t really care one way or the other.
Actors and writers should stay on strike forever.
Hollywood being completely shut down is a good thing.

This could end very badly for the people who are striking. Do they not see this?

Sony Xperia 5 V leak points to significant downgrade
Leaks suggest that the Sony Xperia 5 V will represent a more significant downgrade than we’re used to seeing from the range.
As sure as night follows day, the Sony Xperia 1 V will be followed up by the smaller, cheaper, but similarly capable Sony Xperia 5 V. Sony has been following this formula for years now, most recently with the Sony Xperia 5 IV.
However, the next compact flagship model to emerge from Sony HQ might represent something of a step back. An official-looking Sony Xperia 5 V marketing video has leaked on Reddit via user JB2unique, and has since been uploaded to YouTube. It appears to show a device that completely lacks a telephoto camera.
Previous Xperia 5 models have tended to carry with them a similar camera set-up to their Xperia 1 big brothers. This means a triple camera system.
The two have started to diverge in recent years. Last year’s Xperia 5 IV featured a fixed telephoto camera that lacked the Xperia 1 IV’s fluid optical zoom system. Now, however, Sony appears to be going one fairly major step further in getting rid of the telephoto camera altogether.
Reasons for this are a mystery, but it seems likely that Sony is either cutting costs or saving space – potentially both. If the removal of this telephoto camera leads to more than just a price freeze, as the Xperia 1 V has experienced this year, and results in a full-on price cut, then this might come to be construed as a net positive.
When it comes to saving space, the Xperia 1 V’s main camera sensor is much bigger than before in this year’s model, which will inevitably pose a challenge to the more compact Xperia 5 V. Sony may be forced to diverge with its step-down range in the name of broader photographic progress.
Speculation aside, Sony’s Xperia 1 and Xperia 5 smartphones are niche, pro-focused phones for photography and media enthusiasts. If it’s going to be losing some of that edge in the Xperia 5 V, it might be time for a rethink.

A woman from Kansas was found dead in Montana near Yellowstone National Park after apparently being mauled by a Grizzly Bear.
Local authorities are still trying to track down the animal.
It’s not known if the woman got too close to the animal intentionally.
FOX News has details:
Woman found dead in Montana after grizzly bear mauling near Yellowstone identified
The woman who was found dead in Montana after a suspected grizzly bear encounter near Yellowstone National Park has been identified as 48-year-old Amie Adamson from Derby, Kansas.
On Saturday morning, game wardens with Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks were notified that a hiker found a woman deceased on the Buttermilk Trail near the town of West Yellowstone.
The agency said in a post on Facebook that Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks wardens, bear specialists and staff from other agencies found the woman had wounds that were consistent with a bear attack.
Officials also found tracks from an adult grizzly bear and at least one cub near the site, though they did not see any bears or signs of a daybed or animal carcass while conducting the investigation, which is ongoing.
The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post on Monday that the victim was identified as Adamson.
It’s horrifying to think about. These are gigantic animals.

A Psychiatrist’s Stimulating Sensory Snack for ADHD
Snap! Crackle! Pop! There’s no denying that many of us are instantly drawn by the crunch and textures of certain foods. Hellooo, Cooler Ranch Doritos.
Aside from the fun chomping sound emitted when chomping on these crispy-crunchy foods, researchers say snacking on foods that are texturally-complex and/or have nuanced flavor (especially spice) is a smart way to stimulate brain activity. These “sensory snacks” figuratively tickle someone’s taste buds in a way that can activate their brain receptors, which can be a helpful concentration tool. And according to a gastrophysicist and psychiatrist, our brains often correlate crunchiness with markers of freshness, too.
Ahead, a board-certified psychiatrist delves into how sensory snacks can help boost concentration and brain functioning by stimulating brain activity. Plus: The expert’s own studied sensory snack she calls on when she needs to wake up her brain with a “focus crunch.”
Health benefits of sensory snackingIn a recent Instagram post, board-certified psychiatrist and ADHD clinical specialist Sasha Hamdani, MD shares that noshing on a crunchy, tasty snack is one of the easiest (and tastiest) ways to stimulate the brain. Then she shows how to make one of her go-to sensory concoctions: pickle popcorn made from microwaved popcorn tossed with dill pickle-flavored cashews. While some may find this combination rather surprising, Dr. Hamdani says that’s exactly the point.
Related Stories
Dr. Hamdani came up with the creative combination based on her personal experience with ADHD and what’s worked best for her in the past. “I have ADHD myself, so I came about this snack when I was thinking about how I sustain myself,” Dr. Hamdani says. “People with ADHD are often searching for stimulation, whether intentional or unintentional.”
“I have ADHD myself, so I came about this snack when I was thinking about how I sustain myself,” Dr. Hamdani says. “People with ADHD are often searching for stimulation, whether intentional or unintentional.”
In the case of pickle popcorn, she found that it was an easy, intentional way to stimulate her brain and stay on track during her daily activities. “I’ve found that when you eat certain foods, sometimes you can get a certain amount of stimulation from the food itself, which keeps you engaged and focused on attending to the tasks you’re doing,” Dr. Hamdani adds.
How to make the perfect sensory snackWhile there are no hard-and-fast rules for designing your own sensory snack recipe, there are a few key factors that can help make yours as stimulating as possible. First and foremost, Dr. Hamdani says it ultimately comes down to personal preference. “It’s highly dependent on the person’s palate,” she says.
However, despite this, Dr. Hamdani says you want to look for foods that will be as interesting to the mouth as possible. Think: Spicy, crunchy, sour things. “For example, when you need something to push you away from a panic attack, we recommend something to distract you from that moment, like super sour candy,” she says.
All to say: If pickle popcorn isn’t your cup of tea, don’t worry. Dr. Hamdani says other sensory snacks like spiced nuts, spicy mango, and frozen grapes (which she then coats with fresh lemon or lime juice for added zip) will also do the trick. And ultimately, it all comes down to finding something that your brain truly enjoys.
When to eat your sensory snackDr. Hamdani says other sensory snacks like spiced nuts, spicy mango, and frozen grapes (which she then coats with fresh lemon or lime juice for added zip) will also do the trick.
In terms of timing, Dr. Hamdani says it’s important to understand your natural patterns. “I eat it when I know I’m slumping, or around two in the afternoon, when I could use that kind of stimulating snack,” she says, adding that sensory snacks are especially necessary on weekends when she doesn’t have as much of a set schedule (and needs something to help her stay on track).
Seafood is excellent for brain health, tooDr. Hamdani concludes by sharing that seafood is another all-star dish for cognitive functioning. According to her, certain types of fish (like salmon) are packed with omega-3 fatty acids, which are highly beneficial for brain health. “Omega-3 fatty acids are important from a neurobiological perspective because they help build up that fatty layer of the myelin sheath, which surrounds neurons that help chemical transmission happen,” she says.

DEVELOPING: Trump May Be Indicted in Jack Smith’s January 6 Investigation as Early as Tomorrow: CBS News | The Gateway Pundit
Just in time to distract from Joe Biden’s pay-to-play crimes.
Special Counsel Jack Smith may indict President Trump as early as Tuesday (tomorrow) in his January 6 investigation in DC.
Last Tuesday morning President Trump released a statement on the Biden DOJ’s latest attempt to arrest him on junk charges.
“Deranged Jack Smith, the prosecutor with Joe Biden’s DOJ, sent a letter (again, it was Sunday night!) stating that I am a TARGET of the January 6th Grand Jury Investigation, and giving me a very short 4 days to report to the Grand Jury, which almost always means an Arrest and Indictment,” Trump said last week.
Special Counsel Jack Smith leaked another report to The New York Times last Wednesday night.
The leak came after the House Oversight Committee produced $17 million in bank receipts and witness testimony in the Biden Family bribery, corruption, and influence peddling schemes with foreign regimes.
Jack Smith is likely to use the same Civil War Civil Rights Violation that Merrick Garland and the DOJ have been using to send January 6 protesters to prison for years for non-violent crimes.
According to CBS News, the DC grand jury investigating Trump may indict the former president as early as Tuesday afternoon.
“If there’s going to be an indictment here in DC in the special counsel’s January 6 investigation, it could come as early as tomorrow, 1 pm Eastern time when the grand jury is here in the courthouse. The January 6 grand jury tends to meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays,” CBS reporter Scott MacFarlane reported.
“That’s the soonest it could happen but there is certainly no date on the calendar…there’s no indictment that is certain…” he said.

Special Counsel Jack Smith recently indicted Trump on 37 federal counts in Miami.
Trump was charged with 31 counts of willful retention of national defense information and 6 other process crimes stemming from his conversations with his lawyer.

I’ve been a fan of gel polish since my manicurist first brought out a little blue light box more than a decade ago and said, “You’re going to love this.” She was right. With long-lasting wear and no dry time, I don’t have to sit impatiently waiting for polish to harden, worry about chipping, or lug nail paraphernalia on vacation. For all gel’s perks, there is one thing I’m not a fan of—how my naturally long nails turn thin and brittle, and break afterward.
After recent back-to-back gel manicures (something I don’t normally do) left my nails paper thin and down to stubs, I vowed I was breaking up with gel for good—until my next vacation when I couldn’t resist gel’s charms. But two finds have changed my life (OK, at least the life of my nails): Butter London’s new Quick Slip Cuticle Oil ($22), P.D. Quick Dry Conditioning Drops ($18), a dry oil serum that conditions cuticles and accelerates dry time (more on that in a minute). Using both products post-gel was a game-changer—not only did my nails stay strong and not break, they (gasp!) actually grew longer.
Because gel polish and the acetone used for removal dry nails and cuticles out, it’s essential to add moisture back in—in fact, it’s a misconception that you should let nails “breathe” and shun products after gel removal because nails have porous surfaces that need hydration, says Christine Doan, a Los Angeles-based nail artist and licensed cosmetologist.
‘Think of it as a honeycomb versus a wafer cookie. The honeycomb is porous but filled with the honey itself. If you were to pull out the honey over time, the wax will harden and dry making the shell more prone to damage and breakage with any impact,” says Doan. “A wafer cookie is another example, because it is fully dry and if you were to accidentally cause impact to it, you’d be more likely to experience damage.”
To keep nails hydrated, the Quick Slip Cuticle Oil contains the humectant glycerin along with sunflower, jojoba, and coconut oils, emollients that help support the skin barrier. “Together these ingredients moisturize the cuticles and the skin around them,” says board-certified dermatologist Hadley King, MD. “The health of the cuticles is important because they help to seal the transition zone between the skin and the nails.”
Related Stories
The P.D. Quick Dry Conditioning Drops hero ingredient is rosehip oil, which contains anti-inflammatory fatty acids, and vitamins A and C, all of which moisturize, hydrate, and give an antioxidant boost, says King. The oil also contains vitamin F, which is not a vitamin, but a term used for alpha-linolenic acid and linoleic acid, moisturizing fatty acids that replenish the skin’s barrier, she explains.
“Vitamin F may be particularly helpful for those with skin conditions characterized by an impaired skin barrier function, which is a common issue with dry cuticles,” adds King.
A post-gel game changer
After my recent gel polish removal, I used the Butter London cuticle oil as Doan recommends—at least once a day, especially before bed, following up with hand cream. The tiny brush applicator makes it easy to target your cuticles without the messiness of a dropper and though rich in oils, its texture is nongreasy.
With one use, I fell in love with the conditioning drops—after polishing, you use the tiny dropper to apply a touch of oil mid-nail, and voila, your nails are on speed-dry. The drops not only made dry-time super short (great for people like me who can’t sit still), they added a beautiful layer of shine.“I apply the drops a couple of minutes after I finish my manicure—top coat included—and they’ll be dry to the touch almost immediately. After five or 10 minutes, you can go about your day naturally,” says Doan.
I honestly could not believe the difference in my nail and cuticle health post-gel manicure thanks to these products—gone were the usual breakage and brittleness, replaced by strong nails that kept growing. While I’m happy (and relieved) I don’t need to break up with gel manicures completely, with such amazing results, I’ve embraced the products not only for post-gel use, but to show my nails TLC every day.

NEW: DOJ Will Allow US Attorney David Weiss to Testify to Congress About IRS Whistleblower Allegations of a Hunter Biden Cover-Up | The Gateway Pundit
Biden’s Justice Department will allow US Attorney David Weiss to testify to Congress about the IRS whistleblowers’ allegations of a Hunter Biden cover-up.
“The Department is ready to offer U.S. Attorney Weiss to testify shortly after Congress returns from the August district work period,” read the letter to House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan.
The DOJ “believes it is strongly in the public interest for the American people and for Congress to hear directly from U.S. Attorney Weiss on these assertions and questions about his authority at a public hearing,” the letter said.
More on this story from John Solomon:
BREAKING: John Solomon Reports DOJ Will Allow David Weiss to Testify@jsolomonReports joins @stinchfield1776 and breaks the news that prosecutor David Weiss will have to answer to Congress and address the questions raised by the IRS whistleblowers about the Hunter Biden case.… pic.twitter.com/QaXKhiLVsd
— Real America’s Voice (RAV) (@RealAmVoice) July 25, 2023
At least two IRS whistleblowers have come forward to reveal Hunter Biden received preferential treatment throughout the mop-up operation disguised as an investigation.
The anonymous whistleblower, identified as Joseph Ziegler, finally came forward publicly on Wednesday: “Today, I sit here before you, not as a hero or a victim, but as a whistleblower compelled to disclose the truth.
Joseph Ziegler
Zieger said David Weiss, the US Attorney from Delaware, was hamstrung and marginalized by DOJ officials.
“It appeared to me, based on what I experienced, that the U.S. Attorney in Delaware in our investigation was constantly hamstrung, limited, and marginalized by DOJ officials,” Ziegler said.
IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley said Biden-appointed US Attorneys blocked charges against Hunter Biden.
Gary Shapley
“The Justice Department allowed the president’s political appointees to weigh in on whether to charge the president’s son,” Shapley said referring to the US Attorneys in DC and California.
“This case was presented to two presidentially-appointed U.S. attorneys in D.C. and California. That no charges were brought in those districts tells you everything you need to know,” Shapley said.
David Weiss signed a June 7 letter claiming he had been granted “ultimate authority” over the Hunter Biden case.
This contradicts what an IRS whistleblower heard David Weiss say during one of his in-person meetings with the prosecutor.
Whistleblower Gary Shapely said David Weiss disclosed this to him on one of his in-person meetings with the US Attorney.

A Cardio and Strength Workout That Gets It All Done in 15 Min
Each month, a new trainer takes us through four of the best workouts they have in their back pocket. Follow along weekly for new ways to sweat it out with us. See All
We all have an “ideal” fitness routine in our minds. But the reality is that few of us have the time to actually make it happen; it can be logistically challenging to fit in enough separate cardio and resistance training workouts in a given week. However, one time-saving workout hack is to do both cardio and strength training on the same day—or even at the same time.
Can you do a cardio and strength training workout in one? While advanced athletes might perform a cardio workout followed by a strength-training workout (or vice versa) within the same training session, beginners—or those with limited workout time—may not have the luxury or fitness to do so. Fortunately, if you structure your workouts with enough intensity, and the right kind of exercises, you can combine cardio and resistance training into one combo workout.
“If you’re really interested in building strength, it’s best to split up your strength and cardiovascular exercises on different days, since you want your body to focus on building muscle after each workout,” Matthew Scarfo, CPT, resident training expert at Lift Vault previously told Well+Good about how to decide whether to split up or combine cardio and strength workouts. “Splitting up strength and cardio will help your body use all of its available resources, such as rest and fuel.” On the other hand, he adds, “If you only have three days to work out…it’s totally fine to combine your workouts so you get the best impact for your time.”
Related Stories
Generally, the best way to do this is to use circuit training, which is a style of workout in which you move from one exercise to the next with little to no rest in between each exercise. By using a circuit training format paired with full-body strength exercises and high-intensity cardio blasts, you can keep your heart rate up throughout the duration of the workout. This will give you the benefits of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) or longer steady-state moderate-intensity cardio along with the muscle-building benefits of resistance training in one fell swoop.
The key to success when doing a cardio/strength hybrid workout is to make sure that you are pushing your body to the max during the cardio blast and transitioning quickly between the strength exercises so that your heart rate stays elevated. That said, using proper form and moving through your full range of motion with all of the movements is paramount to ensure safety and maximize the benefits of each exercise.
Try this 15-minute cardio and strength workoutIn the latest episode of Well+Good’s Trainer of the Month Club, Lululemon Studio trainer Lonnie Poupard takes us through a 15-minute routine focused on combining cardio and strength in one workout to capitalize on the benefits of both in an efficient, full-body workout. You will perform a variety of high-intensity bodyweight cardio exercises (with low-impact variations if needed) along with a strength-training circuit using a pair of dumbbells.
This is a great workout to perform on days when your schedule is packed, but you want to push your body and make the most of your workout time.
Format: Three bodyweight warmup moves, followed by two cardio exercises performed back-to-back twice, then two sets of three strength exercises, followed by a high-intensity blast of cardio for two minutes, rounded out with a little bit of core work and a quick cooldown.
Equipment needed: One set of dumbbells and an exercise mat.
Who is this for?: Anyone who wants a heart-pumping, efficient, fairly high-intensity workout that combines cardio and strength. There are beginner-friendly, low-impact variations offered throughout.
Warm upArm swings
Stand upright with your feet slightly wider than hip-width apart.Swing your arms across the body to open up the front of the body and the chest, and back out.Alternating knees to chest dynamic stretch
Bring one knee up to your chest, hugging it in. Work on your balance as you stretch the glutes and hips.Lower the leg and repeat with the other leg.Keep alternating legs.High plank
Get down on your mat in a high plank position with your hands stacked under your shoulders, squeezing your glutes, inner thighs, and feet together. Spread your fingers wide and think about drawing your belly button in towards your spine, keeping your body in a straight line from your head to your heels.First cardio circuitStand back up to begin the first cardio circuit, which will be two exercises performed back-to-back twice.
20 seconds of drop squats (low-impact option is regular bodyweight squats)
Jump your feet out as you bend your knees and sit your hips back to drop down into a squat. Reach one hand down to touch the mat.Jump back up to standing.Alternate hands with each squat. Keep your chest up, back straight, and shoulders down.20 seconds of jumping jacks. Use the full range of motion with arms and feet.
20 seconds of drop squats again, trying to go faster with more intensity.
20 seconds of jumping jacks. Be deliberate in how you are moving. Bring your arms up consciously, and really jump your feet out wide. Move as fast as possible.
Strength circuitGrab your weights. The strength circuit consists of two rounds of three strength training exercises, each performed for 45 seconds, moving right from one to the next.
Reverse lunges
Stand upright holding a weight in each hand.Take a big step back with one leg, focusing on bending the back knee to a 90-degree angle. Lean your torso slightly forward toward the front knee, but make sure to hinge from the hips and do not round your back.Bring your feet back together.Alternate legs, stepping the other leg back into a reverse lunge. Your heart rate should be climbing, but don’t rush: Make sure you are using your muscles and really working through a deep range of motion.High plank with shoulder taps and a push-up
Let go of the weights and move into a high plank position with your feet slightly wider than hips-width. Engage your core and glutes.Lift your right hand and tap your left shoulder and then tap the right shoulder with the left hand (two shoulder taps—one with each hand to the opposite shoulder). Keep your hips and shoulders square to the floor. Then, do a full push-up by bending your elbows and lowering your chest to just above the floor. Press through your palms to straighten your arms again. Then, do another two shoulder taps and then a push-up.Keep going for 45 seconds.Squats and single-arm overhead press (or weighted squats)
Stand back up with the weights at your shoulder height, palms facing in.Either do a plain squat, keeping the weights racked here, or squat down and then perform a single-arm dumbbell overhead press, pushing the weight straight up into the air as you stand up, one arm per rep and switching arms with the next rep.Lower the weight back down as you seamlessly transition into the next squat.30-second break (this is not a full recovery; your heart rate should still be up)
Repeat this strength circuit one more time.
2-minute cardio pushTwo rounds of three cardio blasts performed 20 seconds each with no breaks
Switch kicks: Jump your legs back and forth in a shallow lunge pose. Use strong arms, pumping back and forth each time you switch legs.
Jumping jacks (or tap outs to remove impact)
High knees: Alternate bringing each knee up to hip height on a jump, landing lightly on your feet. Engage your core and move fast and strong. For a low-impact modification, you can do a high knee march.
Repeat that cardio circuit once more in an all-out effort.
Core and cool downBicycle crunches: Press your low back into your mat, and bring your right elbow to your opposite knee, then switch. Beginners can keep the legs up higher off the mat to reduce some of the intensity.
Hug the knees to chest and rock side to side for 5-10 seconds.
Repeat the bicycle crunches and knee hug once more.
Figure 4 piriformis and glute stretch: Lie on your back with your right leg crossed over the left thigh like a figure 4, pulling the left leg towards your chest by reaching behind your thigh and pulling the leg in. Switch legs.
Cat-cow stretches on your hands and knees.
Downward dog, pedaling through the feet with a few alternating little steps.
Arm swings: Stand all the way up, and swing your arms across your chest a few times to loosen up.
