Lawmakers Blast the Biden Administration Over Disgusting Conditions in Some Military Barracks | The Gateway Pundit

A new report on the filthy conditions in some U.S. Military barracks is causing outrage among some lawmakers who have demanded answers from the Biden administration.

Perhaps this has something to do with the recruiting issue that has been going on for two years now.

FOX News reports:

Lawmakers torch Biden administration over filthy military barracks: Service members ‘live in squalor’

A group of lawmakers wrote a letter to a top U.S. defense official demanding answers after a report revealed military service members’ inadequate living conditions in barracks.

“The recent Government Accountability Office report outlining poor living conditions in our military barracks is deeply disturbing,” Rep. Mark Alford, R-Mo., told Fox News Digital.

“On a daily basis, these brave men and women put their lives on the line defending our freedoms; the least we can do is provide them adequate housing.”

Alford was one of several lawmakers who joined forces to demand answers from the Defense Department in the letter, which is addressed to Assistant Secretary of Defense for Energy, Installations, and Environment Brendan Owens. It follows a GAO report last week that outlined dire conditions of some military barracks at installations across the country.

The 118-page report, which included several pictures of barracks rooms and buildings at 12 unnamed military installations, outlined how many of the buildings young troops are forced to live in are plagued with problems such as overflowing sewage, cracked sewer pipes, water damage, pests and mold or mildew growth. The report also outlined how GAO investigators spoke with service members to give them an opportunity to voice their concerns.

Here’s a video report:

Meanwhile, our demented CIC is out there pointing his finger at Republicans over military confirmations:

Trump Delivers Crazed F-Bomb Dropping Speech That Proves He’s Unfit

Trump promised to end all droughts and forest fires and dropped an f-bomb in a speech that was as unhinged as it was desperate.

Trump said:

All the currently dry canals will be brimming and used to irrigate everything, including your own homes and bathrooms and everything. You’re going to be happy and I’m going to get it done fast. They say that there’s so much water up north. That I want to have the overflow areas . Go into your forests and dampen your forest. Because if you dampen your forest, you’re not going to have these fire forest fires that are burning at levels that nobody’s ever seen before.

Very poor land management and remember when I said that a couple of years ago as president said men were sending billions of dollars to California for forest fires, their forests are burning down. And I was with a gentleman of very top person in Austria. He said, sir, We have more flammable trees than you do on your coast. We don’t have forest fires. We have learned to manage it. They take care of the land. They pick up the dead trees. You know, a tree doesn’t burn very easily unless it’s dead, that it gets dry, and it burns the leaves on the ground there.

Video:

Trump was also dropping f-bombs because that looks so presidential:

Trump: “If somebody is beating you by 10, 15, or 20 points, like we’re doing with crooked Joe Biden — let’s indict the motherfucker.” pic.twitter.com/eOr6FUF7jq

— Kate Sullivan (@KateSullivanDC) September 29, 2023

Anyone in the media who watched this speech and still believed it was fine to treat Trump like a typical presidential candidate is part of the problem.

When Trump wasn’t promising to perform macceptableles, he was using language that was unpresidential and inappropriate for someone who is running for office.

Donald Trump has no platform, so he couldn’t go to California and explain what he would do if he put back into the White House.

Since the former president used up all of his undelivered promises in 2016 and 2020, he has to keep upping the stakes to the point where he has gone from absurd to delusional.

Trump’s act is not only stale. It is desperate, and voters in California aren’t buying the snake oil that Trump was selling.

First Co-Defendant in Junk Trump Georgia Election Case Pleads Guilty – Coffee County Bail Bondsman Is Now Expected to Testify Against Other 18 Co-Defendants | The Gateway Pundit

Bail Bondsman Scott Hall pleads guilty to charges in the Trump Georgia election case. in Fulton County.

Now it’s starting to make sense.  Scott Hall, the bail bondsman from Coffee County, Georgia, pleaded guilty today in Fulton County in the Trump Georgia election case.

Scott Hall will now testify against the rest of the defendants in the case.  It took Hall a little over a month to plead guilty to the charges.  He will serve no time in prison in exchange for his testimony against the other 18 co-defendants.

Scott Hall is a bail bondman who was standing in a room in Coffee County observing the process when the Dominion voting machine was legally examined.  Examining voting machines that are connected to the internet is no longer allowed in America today – as long as Democrats can keep “winning.”

Hall was charged with seven felonies.  CNN described his charges:

Hall, a bail bondsman and pro-Trump poll-watcher in Atlanta, spent hours inside a restricted area of the Coffee County elections office when voting systems were breached in January 2021. The breach was connected to efforts by pro-Trump conspiracy theorists to find voter fraud. Hall was captured on surveillance video at the office, on the day of the breach. He testified before the grand jury in Fulton County case and acknowledged that he gained access to a voting machine.

It is not clear why the Coffee County election officials were indicted by Fani Willis in Fulton County for examining a Dominion voting machine.  It is also not clear why this would be a crime.  It is interesting that the first person to plead guilty is from Coffee County and not Fulton County.

Obviously, our justice system is completely broken at this point.

CNBC reported:

Scott Hall, one of the 18 co-defendants of former President Donald Trump in his Georgia election interference case, pleaded guilty Friday in Atlanta to five misdemeanor conspiracy charges.

Hall is the first person charged with Trump to plead guilty in the case, which alleges a widespread racketeering conspiracy to overturn Trump’s 2020 electoral loss to President Joe Biden.

At a hearing in Fulton County Superior Court, Hall confirmed to Judge Scott McAfee that his plea deal requires him to testify in future proceedings in the case, including trials of his co-defendants, including Trump.

The 59-year-old bail bondsman will serve five years of probation, pay a $5,000 fine, and perform 200 hours of community service as part of that deal.

McAfee also ordered Hall to write a letter of apology to the state of Georgia for his crimes and to have no involvement in the administration of elections.

He originally was charged with seven criminal counts.

Here is video from today’s hearing inside Judge Scott McAfee’s courtroom with Scott Hall the bail bondsman.

Humanitarian Crisis Declared After Unmarked White Buses Drop Off THOUSANDS of Illegal Aliens on San Diego’s Streets | The Gateway Pundit

Last week unmarked white buses dropped off more than 3,000 illegal aliens – MOSTLY MILITARY-AGED MEN – on the streets of San Diego.

“Over 3,000 migrants have been street released in San Diego as cartels smuggle massive groups of migrants from Tijuana the majority street releases are males with future court dates in the U.S. and headed to major cities across the U.S.,” Jorge Ventura reported last week.

Shocking video of the illegals aimlessly wandering around 30th Street near the Iris Avenue Trolley Station was posted to social media.

The number of illegals dropped off on the streets of San Diego has swelled to nearly 8,000.

San Diego officials declared the flood of illegals to be a humanitarian crisis on Tuesday.

The Wall Street Journal reported:

An unmarked white bus pulled up to a park here Monday morning, where it dropped off about 50 recently arrived migrants with little idea where they were and no place to sleep that night.

It wasn’t part of a nefarious operation. The bus was driven by the U.S. government, which is dropping off thousands of migrants in communities along the border as a new wave of illegal immigration strains the resources of the Border Patrol.

Local shelters are hitting capacity, including the roughly 950 beds in San Diego that are typically adequate for recently arrived migrants who need a place to sleep for a night or two. As a result, immigration agents are dropping people off on the streets, at bus stops and in train stations, angering local officials and worrying aid groups.

In San Diego, an estimated 7,800 migrants have been released in the past two weeks, according to county officials, who on Tuesday declared the situation to be a humanitarian crisis.

El Cajon Mayor Bill Wells said he is being told by the Border Patrol that the cartels have shifted their human smuggling from Texas to the San Diego region.

“We’ve already seen nearly 7,000 migrants dropped in San Diego County, and that number will only go up,” Bill Wells said on Newsmax this week.

What are silicon anode batteries?

Rita El Khoury / Android Authority

With the growing demand for longer-lasting and more efficient batteries, researchers and manufacturers are exploring new materials and technologies to revolutionize the way we power our devices. Silicon anode batteries are one such innovation that holds the promise of higher energy densities and improved performance. And with major companies like Porsche, Mercedes, and GM all announcing plans for investing in it, it’s no wonder why silicon anode batteries are turning the heads of many general consumers as well.

In this quick guide, we’ll discuss what silicon anode batteries are, how they compare to traditional graphite anode batteries, and the pros and cons associated with their use.

What is a silicon anode battery?

At the heart of any battery is an anode, a cathode, and an electrolyte. The anode is the part of the battery where the oxidation reaction occurs, releasing electrons and creating a flow of electric current. In traditional lithium-ion batteries, graphite has been the material of choice for the anode due to its stability and reliability.

However, silicon anode batteries are changing the game by replacing graphite with silicon in the anode. Silicon has some remarkable properties that make it an attractive alternative. Firstly, silicon has a much higher theoretical capacity to store lithium ions compared to graphite. In fact, silicon can store about ten times more lithium ions than graphite, which translates to significantly higher energy densities and potentially longer battery life.

The key to silicon’s high capacity lies in its ability to alloy with lithium.

The key to silicon’s high capacity lies in its ability to alloy with lithium. When lithium ions are inserted into silicon during charging, they form a stable lithium-silicon alloy. This process can accommodate a large number of lithium ions, which leads to a higher energy storage capacity.

But while silicon anodes offer exciting possibilities, they also come with their own set of challenges and considerations. To better understand the various advantages and disadvantages of silicon anode batteries, let’s compare them to their graphite counterparts.

Graphite vs. silicon anode batteriesfairphone 5 removable battery

Rita El Khoury / Android Authority

Graphite has been the go-to material for anodes in lithium-ion batteries for many years. It has proven to be reliable, safe, and cost-effective. Graphite anodes have relatively stable performance over multiple charge-discharge cycles, which is essential for consumer electronics, smartphones, and electric vehicles.

Silicon anode batteries, on the other hand, have the potential to outperform graphite in several key areas. As mentioned, silicon can store more lithium ions, resulting in higher energy densities. This means that devices powered by silicon anode batteries could have longer runtimes between charges or smaller and lighter batteries with the same capacity.

Silicon anodes can also facilitate faster charging, which is a significant advantage in today’s fast-paced world. Faster charging times mean less downtime for devices and electric vehicles, making them more convenient and practical for consumers.

Silicon anodes aren’t perfect, however; during the charge-discharge cycles, silicon tends to expand significantly as it is alloyed with lithium, leading to mechanical stress and potential damage to the battery’s structure. Researchers are actively working on engineering solutions to mitigate these issues, such as using silicon composites or nanostructured silicon materials.

Pros and cons of silicon anode batteriesmotorola edge plus charging indicator

Ryan Haines / Android Authority

With every material there are pros and cons. Here are some of the advantages of silicon anode batteries:

High energy density: Silicon anode batteries offer the potential for higher energy densities, enabling longer battery life or smaller and lighter battery packs.Fast charging: Silicon anodes allow for faster charging times, improving the convenience of portable electronics and electric vehicles.Abundance: Silicon is one of the most abundant elements on Earth, making it a sustainable and cost-effective choice for battery manufacturing.

Cons of silicon anode batteries

Volume expansion: Silicon anodes experience significant volume expansion during charging, leading to mechanical stress and potential damage.Cycle life: The expansion and contraction of silicon can reduce the cycle life of the battery, limiting its long-term reliability.Manufacturing challenges: Producing high-quality silicon anode materials can be challenging and may require innovative manufacturing techniques.

Overall, silicon anode batteries represent a promising advancement in battery technology, offering higher energy densities and faster charging. With that said, they also come with technical challenges that researchers and manufacturers are actively addressing. As the field of energy storage continues to evolve, silicon anode batteries have the potential to play a significant role in powering the devices and vehicles of the future.

Virginia Gov. Youngkin Says School Districts ‘Don’t Really Have a Choice’ About Adopting His Admin’s Transgender Policies | The Gateway Pundit

Republican Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin says school districts in the state “don’t really have a choice” about adopting his administration’s model policies for transgender students and that those who are not complying are at risk of legal troubles.

The model policies direct teachers to refer to transgender students by their biological sex and birth name unless parents agree in writing to any changes. They also require students to play on sports teams based on their biological sex.

“There’s no decision to be made here,” Youngkin said on Thursday’s episode of Fox News’s “America Reports.” “Our law is crystal clear.”

“There’s not a choice to be made by these counties and, in fact, now they are all being clearly brought out in legal jeopardy and liability,” Youngkin continued. “They’re liable personally and as boards, and this will play itself out in the court system.”

Earlier this week, two parents in Virginia Beach filed a lawsuit against their school board for refusing to enact the policies.

The lawsuit states that the parents “want to protect their children from being compelled to use biologically inaccurate names and pronouns, forced to use bathrooms and locker rooms with members of the opposite sex, or required to pretend during athletic competition that gender identity can override the enduring physical differences between boys and girls.”

The Virginia Beach School Board voted down a proposal to adopt the policies last month. The vote was five versus five, with one member abstaining, so it failed.

Governor Youngkin has welcomed the lawsuit.

Parents File Lawsuit Against Virginia Beach School Board For Refusing to Enact Youngkin’s Policies for Transgender Students

“Let me just begin by saying I’m proud of them,” Governor Youngkin said of the parents who filed the lawsuit, according to the 13News Now report. “I’m proud of them for standing up for their children and for kids, and I support them and as you know, I firmly believe that there is no other decision for school boards than to adopt the model policies or policies that are consistent with the model policy.”

Joe Biden’s Words Come Back to Haunt Him as Wyoming Town’s Entire Electric Bus Fleet Breaks Down (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit

Credit: Cowboy State Daily

Jackson, Wyoming – Joe Biden boasted two years ago that the CEO of a major electric bus manufacturer was making him “look good” and federal dollars poured into the company. Now those words have come back to haunt him as an entire town’s electric bus fleet backed by the company broke down.

The Cowboy State Daily reported Tuesday that Teton County and the town of Jackson wanted a low-emission transit system for the county. The Southern Teton Area Rapid Transit (START) system, a joint operation between Jackson and Teton County, had bought eight electric buses to complement its fleet of 31.

But the entire bus fleet broke down so the town’s transit system is now solely relying on its diesel fleet. The last of the electric buses went out of service two months ago and some of the broken buses have been awaiting parts for months.

Cristina Laila previously reported the electric bus manufacturer that supplied START, California-based Proterra, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last month. Proterra enjoyed large financial support from American taxpayers courtesy of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which was signed into law back in 2021. Laila also notes that dim-witted Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm was deeply invested in the company.

In addition, Biden also participated in a virtual tour of Proterra that year. In the video below, he can be seen hailing then-CEO Jack Allen and makes a remark we can now say came back to haunt him:

The fact is, you’re making me look good.

WATCH:

Biden went on to discuss a plan to build 50,000 charging stations with taxpayer dollars.

The Cowboy State Daily says the company plans to continue operating while the bankruptcy case proceeds and has promised to deliver buses that are on order. But START Director Bruce Abel told the paper he has no clue when the parts will arrive nor when the buses will start running again.

We’re evaluating our options to see how we can work through that and make sure that they can be on the road.

Why the company would even bother is an open question. Abel admitted that when the START electric buses did run, their performance degraded during the winter months, which is a common problem with electric vehicles.

Abel explained that during the summer months, the buses could go all day without needing a charge. But when it got colder, the batteries would lose significant range.

Diesel buses, of course, do not have this problem. No wonder why Wyoming legislators want to ban the sale of electric vehicles by 2035.

Conservatives Give FOX Business a Failing Grade for Second Republican Debate | The Gateway Pundit

If you tuned in to watch the second Republican debate on the FOX Business network, you may have felt a bit disappointed.

The candidates frequently yelled over each other with three or more people speaking at once, but that is to be expected. The bigger letdown was the moderators and the questions.

One of the moderators was a journalist for Univision, who repeatedly asked questions that were from the far left, based on identity politics or were clearly meant to be gotcha questions. Even Dana Perino, who commands a lot of respect on the right, was raosted for asking a question at the end, based on the ‘Survivor’ reality show.

Conservative pundits and bloggers were not impressed.

Ed Morrissey of Hot Air wrote:

The biggest loser of last night’s debate was …

… not any of the seven candidates on the stage. It wasn’t even one of the candidates who weren’t on the stage — Donald Trump, Asa Hutchinson, and an assortment of also rans. The biggest loser of the debate was Fox Business Channel, with the RNC that arranged it a close runner-up.

We can put aside the bickering and bad behavior of the candidates on stage for this assessment. Yes, the ‘moderators’ let it get out of hand, but this is a debate, after all — and the candidates are the show. If they want to argue amongst themselves, the responsibility falls on the candidates more than the forum, and we can judge their worth as potential nominees accordingly. But right from the start, it became clear that the questions and topics could have been ghostwritten by MSNBC, making this more of a firing line than a debate to discuss conservative principles and policies, and deliberately manipulated to provide the ‘bad behavior’ that some candidates willingly provided.

Paula Bolyard of PJ Media writes:

Whose Side Is Fox on Anyway?

The Fox Business GOP presidential debate was a total trainwreck — and that’s putting it mildly.

If you watched, you were treated to nearly two hours of left-wing talking points from the moderators, who not only had no control of the debate but ignored their own rules and allowed candidates to attack one another without the opportunity for rebuttal.

The leftist Univision moderator — Emmy award winner!!! Ilia Calderón — who had trouble speaking English clearly, kept asking questions about Dreamers and DACA, turning the questions into speeches to condemn GOP policies on immigration.

Megyn Kelly commented on Twitter:

It was a bad debate. People on the right expected better from FOX Business.

REPORT: Internal Documents Show Biden Administration and DHS Knew Surge Was Coming to the Border and Did Nothing | The Gateway Pundit

There are reportedly internal documents that show the Biden administration and Biden’s DHS knew that an unprecendented surge was coming to the southern border and did nothing.

This gives credence to the claims by many conservatives that the border crisis is intentional and is happening by design.

The Biden White House and Democrats want this to happen.

The Washington Free Beacon reports:

Biden Administration Knew Border Surge Was Coming, Internal Documents Show—And Did Nothing

The Department of Homeland Security was aware that a large population of migrants was preparing to cross the southern border months before a near-record number surged into the country this month, internal documents obtained by the Washington Free Beacon show—but appears to have taken no action to forestall an influx that has overwhelmed local officials across the United States.

The documents show that Mexican immigration authorities have seen a spike in apprehensions since May, an indication that border crossings were likely to rise, and that federal agencies documented a large buildup of migrants on the Mexican side of the border at the beginning of September.

The White House, which has struggled to counteract the surge of migrants that began when President Joe Biden took office in January of 2021, is pointing the finger at Republicans, arguing that GOP lawmakers in Congress are responsible for the problem because they have stymied the president’s proposals for immigration reform. But Biden’s problems on the southern border have put him at odds with Democratic officials, as Democratic leaders in cities like Chicago and New York have struggled to deal with tens of thousands of new arrivals, which are forcing lawmakers there to consider sharp budget cuts to pay for housing and other social services.

Republicans are mostly focusing on Biden’s alleged financial corruption, but they should not forget that this is also an impeachable offense. Biden is doing harm to the country through his border policies, and it looks intentional.
