Step into a new world of fitness tracking with the Fitbit Charge 6
(Sponsored) When it comes to staying on top of your workout routine and your overall bill of health, no other piece of tech quite compares to a dedicated fitness tracker, and the new Fitbit Charge 6 is ready to take things to the next level.
Fitbit is already renowned for its expertise in the world of fitness tracking – being one of the first companies to bring wearable technology to consumers – but now the brand is going even further by working closely with Google to bring a whole new range of features to the Fitbit Charge series for the first time.
For starters, the Fitbit Charge 6 now boasts support for Google Wallet, Google Maps and YouTube Music*. This means that you can pay for that post-parkrun coffee simply by tapping your Fitbit Charge 6 on a contactless payment point, and when you have your phone in tow, you can get step by step directions on your wrist, and even change over to a different YouTube Music playlist without having to reach for your smartphone.

All of these features allow the Fitbit Charge 6 to be the smartest Fitbit yet, but that doesn’t mean that it’s moved away from its fitness tracking roots – far from it. In fact, the Fitbit Charge 6 boasts an improved heart rate sensor that now provides more accurate data than ever so you can find out exactly how your body is responding to particular workouts and how much effort you’re exerting.
Speaking of workouts, there are now more than 40 exercises that can be tracked on the Fitbit Charge 6, with new additions including HIIT, strength training and even snowboarding. This further expands the capabilities of the Fitbit Charge series, so whether you prefer lifting weights or attending a class at your local gym, the Fitbit Charge 6 has you covered.
As any working adult knows, it can oftentimes be tricky to find the motivation to stay on top of your fitness goals, particularly during busy periods. Luckily for any owners of the Fitbit Charge 6, the accompanying Fitbit app has you covered in the all-new ‘Coach’ tab which features plenty of workout ideas to keep you going, and even a handful of mindfulness sessions to help you find inner peace on those more stressful days.
After all, the key to good health goes far beyond exercise and Fitbit knows this, which is why its latest wearable is equipped with plenty of health tracking features too. The on-device electrodermal activity (EDA) scan can, by detecting small changes on the surface of your skin, determine your stress levels throughout the day and let you know when it’s time to take a step back and calm your mind.

The Fitbit Charge 6 can also provide detailed sleep tracking analysis that not only gives you an easy to understand sleep score out of 100, but Fitbit’s Daily Readiness* score can also let you know if your body’s ready to take on a proper workout, or if it still needs to recover. This is a huge boon as it stops you from overtraining, minimising the risk of injury.
As if all that wasn’t enough, the Fitbit Charge 6 brings back plenty of fan-favourite features from its predecessor, including untethered GPS tracking which allows you to hit the track and monitor your route without needing to bring your phone with you. Plus, with a battery life of up to seven days on a single charge, the Fitbit Charge 6 is more than ready to keep up with whatever your week has in store.
For all these reasons and more, the Fitbit Charge 6 is a fitness tracker like no other, and if you’re ready to take control of your workout routine and move towards healthier habits then you can buy your very own Fitbit Charge 6 from Currys right now.

4 Y2K Sunglasses That Transform Your Style
Photo: Deposit Photos
The Y2K trend exploded in 2021 and has shown no signs of stopping since. In fact, super popular streetwear brand Supreme unveiled its Spring 2022 sunglasses collection last year to reveal four new shapes inspired by the early 2000s.
These Y2K sunglasses include the Koto, Club, Velo, and Levy — all uniquely designed to imitate silhouettes the stars like Paris Hilton would proudly wear during the height of the era.
From glamorous rhinestone details to eye-catching purple shades, these sunglass styles promise to add that retro touch to your outfits. Is this a style you want to wear? Read on as we discuss four sunglasses styles that will bring your outfit back to the fashionable late-’90s and early 2000s.
Oversized Square Sunglasses[image error]Photo: PopularImages / Deposit PhotosSeen on Lady Gaga in her ‘Bad Romance’ music video and even Kim Kardashian in her casual wear, oversized square glasses promise to emulate ‘futuristic diva realness’ in your outfit. These perfectly fit oval or round face shapes, adding more angles and balancing out the softness of your features.
With the right color, these sunglasses can definitely make you stand out from the crowd. Eyewear retailer FramesDirect carries a wide selection of stylish women’s sunglasses, including square retro Chopard SCHG32V sunglasses, perfect for channeling the carefree vibes of summer.
Shield Sunglasses[image error]Photo: imagepressagency / Deposit PhotosIf the size of the square glasses is what appeals to you the most, you’d be happy to know that you can also go for the much larger shield sunglasses. Y2K icon Paris Hilton popularized these in her hit reality TV show ‘The Simple Life,’ and some of these shield sunglasses are even big enough to cover more than half of your face.
These serve to elevate your outfit and make a clear statement of retro-future in big, bold letters. Brands like Balenciaga, Prada, and even Gucci carry their own edition of the infamous shield sunglasses. From mirrored to polarized, you can definitely make use of this style to turn every casual stroll into a high-fashion runway.
Retro Oval Sunglasses[image error]Photo: Deposit PhotosOn the other side of the spectrum are retro oval glasses. These are small and slim and often come in neutral shades. The Outta-Love oval frame from Le Specs is known as one of the best pairs of stylish sunglasses to up your shade game in the summer and can help you embrace your love of ’90s minimalism as well.
This pair is often compared to the DMY by DMY pick, which celebrity Hailey Bieber wears for her effortless, LA model-off-duty look.
If you want an edgier style with a bit of fun, you can take cues from singer Olivia Rodrigo, whose style skews heavily towards Y2K fashion. She’s been spotted wearing oval frames from Prada, and she has other similar shades with tinted lenses for a pop of color.
Cat-eye Sunglasses[image error]Photo: Deposit PhotosThe effortless cat eye was a go-to silhouette in the 60s – and later seen again in the 90s – perfectly capable of giving you a classic and fresh look today.
They have an upward curving shape that’s inspired by the Harlequin masks in Italy and meant to frame your eyes. These can look incredibly stunning on oval, round, square, and even diamond face shapes.
They’re also easily paired with an outfit — as seen on Lucy Liu in the iconic 2000s film ‘Charlie’s Angels‘ when she donned a sleek, leather outfit and a pair of cat-eye glasses.
You can go for the blackout lens options, dab a little lip gloss on your lips, and wear the statement piece with a simple outfit in neutral coloring.
Y2K Sunglasses InspirationHave any of these Y2K sunglasses inspired you to try the retro aesthetic? Don’t be afraid to experiment with different designs and figure out what best works for your face shape and fashion sense to find a pair that flatters you and suits your vibe.
Y2K is all about having fun, and with the right shades, you can express your sense of style in different ways.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass Announces Plan to ‘Master Lease’ Hotels for Consolidating Homeless Encampments | The Gateway Pundit
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass recently issued an order allowing the use of residential hotel rooms, typically reserved for low-income, disabled, and elderly residents, as temporary shelters for the homeless.
This move, part of the Inside Safe initiative, aims to address the city’s homelessness crisis by providing immediate shelter, despite potentially conflicting with a 2008 city law designed to protect these residential units.
The order states:
During this Local emergency, any unit in a Residential Hotel, whether a Residential Unit or Tourist Unit, may be made available for shelter and interim housing provided to an otherwise unsheltered individual under a booking or occupancy agreement with the City or other public agency so long as the unit was vacant at the time of the booking. Any such occupancy made available to unsheltered individuals shall not be deemed by the City to be a violation of the RHO.The Los Angeles Housing Department shall conduct a comprehensive review of all Residential Hotels currently on the City’s list and report back to me and to the City Council within 30 days with an assessment of the residential Hotel stock and occupancy rates and include a summary on the progress of pending appeals. In reliance on the results of the above-referenced comprehensive review, the Los Angeles Housing Department, in consultation with and assisted by the City Attorney, the City Administrative Officer, and the Chief Legislative Analyst, shall propose updates to the Residential Hotel Ordinance and provide recommendations for administrative changes, guidelines, enforcement strategy, and needed resources to support the updates ordinance.Legal experts and housing advocates have expressed concerns about the plan’s long-term implications for permanent housing availability. Despite clearing numerous street encampments and housing over 1,600 people in temporary shelters, the challenge of finding permanent solutions remains significant.
ProPublica reported:
The new directive, which is in effect until the emergency ends, would significantly expand the city’s short-term shelter options, as there are roughly 300 buildings designated as residential hotels across the city. Any vacant residential hotel unit could be used to provide temporary housing under an agreement with the city.
“This executive directive continues work to help bring unhoused Angelenos inside as quickly as possible so they don’t die on our streets,” Bass spokesperson Zach Seidl wrote in a statement.
But Barbara Schultz, the director of housing justice at the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, called the order “incredibly shortsighted” and “a huge step backwards.”
“Los Angeles is short tens of thousands of permanent units,” Schultz said. “As it is, we can’t move people from interim units into permanent units because of the shortfall. So how does removing permanent units help?”
Schultz said the mayor’s order could violate a 2006 lawsuit settlement that predates the residential hotel law and requires more than 65 downtown hotels to remain residential.
Mayor Bass’s plan includes leasing entire hotels to create communities for homeless individuals, a costly but potentially more cohesive approach.
“What we’re doing is that we are leasing motel rooms. It’s a very expensive model, so we’re getting ready to master lease, which means we lease the entire motel, and we go to the encampments, which are a series of tents,” Bass said during an interview with MSNBC.
“And what I think the general public might not realize is that in order to survive on the street, people create communities. And so instead of splitting them up, we move the entire community. The inside, a community based organization, takes over and provides the services.”

Earlier this year, it was announced that the city was considering purchasing and renovating the Mayfair hotel for over $83 million to provide interim housing. This strategy reflects broader debates in major cities over prioritizing limited housing resources and addressing homelessness effectively.
Los Angeles Daily News reported:
The council voted 12-2 to approve spending approximately $83 million to purchase and renovate the 294-room historic hotel, and to pay for associated costs, as part of the mayor’s Inside Safe homeless initiative.
A $60 million “encampment resolution” grant from the state to pay for operations at the site stipulates the money must be used to serve individuals from skid row — the epicenter of the region’s homelessness crisis. Because of that, the Mayfair Hotel is expected to only house individuals from skid row during the first two years of operation.
But once the grant expires after two years, priority for living at the Mayfair, located at 1256 W. 7th St., would go to individuals in Council District 1, where the hotel is located. Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez, who represents District 1, made that request before the council’s vote.

Failed Speaker Kevin McCarthy Is Angry He Got Fired For Not Doing His Job | The Gateway Pundit
Republicans have truly been going through it since Obama was elected President. Things certainly seemed to be turning in their favor when Trump was elected in 2016, and that was up until the 2020 election, which had some very shady things going on with ballot counting. Even a 12-year-old could conclude that mistakes will be made when you’re counting millions of votes, but of course, not many on the left are mature enough to admit that.
As well as issues surrounding election integrity and tensions between opposing fanbases of GOP candidates, the Republicans are dealing with having to replace their speaker of the house, a move initiated by Rep. Matt Gaetz.
Like most failed republican politicians, Kevin McCarthy recently did an interview with CNN. He cried about how it’s not fair he got fired for not doing what he promised to do while taking everyone’s money. You don’t have to be a conservative to see why the people decided to remove this man.
In an exclusive interview with CNN, McCarthy made clear he misses being “at the table” even as he promised to help the new speaker; went further in his embrace of former President Donald Trump heading into 2024; and questioned whether the “crazy eight” Republicans who voted to strip him of the gavel are even conservatives at all.
The California Republican reserved his harshest attacks for Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida, who led the charge for McCarthy’s ouster. McCarthy continually accused Gaetz of only going after him because of a House Ethics Committee probe he’s facing, a charge the GOP hardliner has repeatedly denied.
In his interview, McCarthy went on to blast Rep. Matt Gaetz as a fake conservative and losing all sight of self-awareness that it was the people who removed him, and Gaetz simply did what the people told him to do. Which is what I thought was the point of being the speaker?
“I don’t believe them to be conservatives,” McCarthy said of the eight Republicans. “It’s driven by Gaetz, and it was all based upon an ethics complaint that happened in the last Congress. He would throw his country away to try to protect himself for what would come out as the truth.”
McCarthy suggested that Gaetz had called for the vote for McCarthy’s removal – and later backed Mike Johnson’s ascension as speaker – simply to quash the ethics probe.
“If the Ethics Committee never does anything to Gaetz, then Gaetz was successful in stopping probably what rightfully should come to him,” McCarthy said.
I don’t know, but I feel like if you have to go through 15 rounds of votes just to become the speaker of the house and then are elected, you should do what the majority are requesting of you in your comment sections on X/Twitter and wherever else the people contact you. That obviously did not happen, and the people decided it was time for McCarthy to go. I am not sure McCarthy will find the sympathy he is looking for on the left. Especially after attacking their queen, Nancy Pelosi, as a traitor who stabbed him in the back in the same interview
“Before I was elected, I was still having problems with getting the votes, which she did as well. And I told her the issue was bringing back this motion to vacate. And the first thing she said: ‘Just give it to them. Just give it to them. We’d never allow that. It’s not good for the House,’” McCarthy said of Pelosi. “Look, at the end of the day, the Democrats decided to make a political decision.”
At the very least, politicians like McCarthy know where his bread is buttered despite the ongoing in-house tensions. He ended the interview by stating he supports the former President but has not endorsed him yet. Whatever that means.
In the interview, McCarthy predicted that the former president will be the party’s nominee next year and said that he will support him.
“I haven’t endorsed, but I support President Trump,” he said.
McCarthy has repeatedly defended the former president despite countless controversies and told CNN he is unconcerned about Trump’s criminal charges heading into 2024.
It looks like just another day in the world of politicians being politicians, but the new speaker, Rep. Mike Johnson, might want to take some notes, or he might end up on CNN giving an exclusive interview about how he lost his job in the future.

Philly’s Liberal Mayor-Elect Wants to Use National Guard to Shut Dow Open-Air Drug Markets in the City | The Gateway Pundit
Philadelphia ushered in a new era on Tuesday, electing its first female mayor, Cherelle Parker, who vowed to employ strong law enforcement measures, including calling on the National Guard, to tackle the city’s rampant open-air drug markets.
During a town hall in recent weeks, Parker responded to a resident’s plea to clean up Kensington, the nerve center of the nation’s opioid crisis, home to a vast population of drug addicts and notorious for its open-air drug market, Fox News reported.
“Will I call on them to help us, for example, shut down the open-air drug market in Kensington that’s being allowed to prevail?” Parker echoed the constituent’s question, affirming unequivocally that the National Guard will be instrumental to her strategy.
In conversation with the Philadelphia Inquirer, Parker laid out her plan to implement a robust intergovernmental approach to orchesterate the clean up of Kensington and put an end to the open-air drug market, an area where addicts openly inject substances and frequently collapse on sidewalks or streets. It’s a locale sought after by users for fentanyl and xylazine, an inexpensive but lethal veterinary tranquilizer found in over 90% of drug samples examined in Philadelphia, based on 2021 city data.
Parker, who previously served on the city’s council and in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, will be Philadelphia’s 100th mayor and its first female mayor. Democrats have controlled the mayor’s seat in Philadelphia since 1952. This means that they have held the position for 71 years.
Parker pledges to transform Philadelphia into the “safest, cleanest, greenest” metropolis in the U.S.
“I’m uniquely prepared to make the city the safest, cleanest, greenest big city in the nation with access to economic opportunity for all,” Parker said. “I communicated to the people that if they gave me the opportunity, I wouldn’t be afraid to make those tough decisions, to implement that vision I share with them and that I would remain my authentic self.”

JUST IN: Tim Scott Drops Out of 2024 Presidential Race (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit
Republican Senator Tim Scott (SC) announced on Sunday evening he is dropping out of the 2024 presidential race.
“When I go back to Iowa, it will not be as a presidential candidate. I am suspending my campaign,” Tim Scott told a shocked Trey Gowdy on Fox News.
“I think the voters, who are the most remarkable people on the planet, have been really clear that they’re telling me: not now,” Scott said.
According to NBC News, Tim Scott’s staffers didn’t even know the senator was ending his campaign.

Tim Scott failed to gain momentum after Tucker Carlson exposed him as a Ukraine hawk over the summer.
“The total body count from Russia on the United States is right around zero. I don’t know anyone who’s been killed by Russia,” Tucker said.
“I know people personally who have been killed by Mexico. The government of Mexico allows fentanyl to be made in its country and to come over our border…the Mexican government is party to the murder of hundreds of thousands of Americans, so why is Mexico less of a threat than Russia?” Tucker asked Tim Scott.
Tim Scott started to rattle off talking points so Tucker interjected: “So Mexico is our ally and Russia is our sworn enemy? How does that work?”
Senator Scott said the legislation he has sponsored freezes the Mexican cartel’s assets.

Tim Scott Strands Staff In Iowa As He Quits His Presidential Campaign
Most of Sen. Tim Scott’s South Carolina staff was sent to Iowa. They didn’t know that their boss was quitting his campaign, and now they are stuck in Iowa.
This is the kind of ‘great guy’ that Tim Scott is:
Update: A senior staffer tells me on the condition of anonymity that this is incredibly frustrating for staffers. A large portion of the SC team had been sent to Iowa in the last month – and now they have to find a way to get them back tomorrow. The staffer added they had been…
— Meg Kinnard (@MegKinnardAP) November 13, 2023
The New York Times backed up the AP report by adding that some staffers found out that they were stranded by watching TV, “Mr. Scott conducted the Fox News interview from a television studio in his home and told his staff on a call after he spoke to Mr. Gowdy, according to a person familiar with the events. A number of staff members learned that the campaign was being suspended from watching television, three people familiar with the matter said.”
Either Tim Scott’s campaign was such a mess that nobody thought to notify staffers, or Scott was so selfish that he kept his decision to drop out a secret and didn’t bother to tell his own staff.
Imagine uprooting your life to go work in Iowa on a presidential campaign, and then to find out that you are out of a job, and no one on the campaign had the decency to tell you.
Tim Scott’s presidential campaign was pointless and doomed from the start.
At least now there is one less candidate in the Republican field that cable news has to pretend like could win something.
