Snag a tempting 10% off one of our favourite wireless smartphone mics
Black Friday 2023 may not officially kick off until next Friday, but that hasn’t stopped retailers from getting in on the deal bonanza a little early. That includes online retail giant Amazon, with a plethora of tempting deals for those on the hunt for a bargain on tech.
One particularly tempting deal that caught our eye reduces the price of the Hollyland Lark C1 wireless microphone kit by 10%, bringing it down to a more tempting £134.99 from its £149.99 RRP. There is an extra step here, however; you’ll have to click the voucher on the listing to get access to the 10% discount.
Snag 10% off the Hollyland Lark C1 wireless mic
Save £15 on the highly-rated Hollyland Lark C1 at Amazon! Now only £134.99, this compact and efficient wireless microphone system offers excellent sound quality.
With the 10% discount voucher selected, you’ll see a reduced price when you head to your basket. It may not be the biggest deal we’ve ever seen, but the Hollyland Lark C1 is one of our favourite wireless phone mics here at Trusted Reviews and is used in plenty of the videos we record for TikTok. If you’re a blossoming content creator, this could be the product for you.
It boasts a Lightning port for easy connectivity with iPhones, though that does mean it’s not compatible with the USB-C port of the iPhone 15 range – just a heads up.
As you can see from the above graph, the price of the Hollyland Lark C1 has been pretty stable over the past month. There was a very shortlived Lightning deal for Amazon Prime subscribers in October that brought it down to a lower £119.99, but that price drop has only been seen once in the entire time the kit has been available on Amazon, making this a particularly tempting offer.
Is the Hollyland Lark C1 worth buying?A must-have for content creators

Simply plug the transmitter into the Lightning port of your iPhone, clip the microphone to your lapel and start recording from the Hollyland app. It’s a simple process that’s further improved by features like ANC that reduces unwanted background noise during recording, ideal for loud events, and with a range of 650ft, you have plenty of space to roam during your recording.
We found audio quality to be superb for the price, so much so that we regularly use the C1 in TikToks on the Trusted Reviews TikTok channel, and with around 32 hours of charge via the supplied charging case, it’s not something you’ll be topping up very often either.

Far Left Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson Drops to Historic Low Approval Rating Six Months After Taking Office | The Gateway Pundit
Chicago’s far left mayor Brandon Johnson has been in office for barely six months and he has already earned a historically low approval rating.
It’s not surprising. The city has a major problem with violent crime, and even the liberals who live there are outraged by the way the city has handled the influx of illegal border crossers.
Chicagoans elected this man to replace Lori Lightfoot and he is already a worse mayor than she was.
The Washington Examiner reports:
Brandon Johnson receives lowest approval rating of a Chicago mayor in early months of term
Six months after Democratic Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson’s inauguration, city residents are not pleased with his administration’s work, earning him the lowest approval rating for a Windy City mayor starting his or her term in modern history.
Historically, Chicago mayors have been popular early in their terms, but that is not the case for Johnson. A poll from the Illinois Policy Institute conducted by conservative-leaning Echelon Insights found that Johnson has a 28% approval rating. The rating is just 1 point above former Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s when she lost her reelection campaign in February and 1 point above former Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s in 2016 in the aftermath of the officer-involved shooting of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald.
The only other mayor to come close to a low score of 30% is former Mayor Michael Bilandic, who scored 33% in 1979, according to the Illinois think tank.
Johnson’s approval rating was the highest among ages 18-29 at 32% and lowest among ages 40-49 at 24%. The polling numbers likely correlate with Johnson’s outreach goals for teenagers and youth, who tend to connect with liberal policies, as well as a decline in support from older voters, who leaned toward Democrat Paul Vallas in the mayoral election earlier this year.
John Nolte of Breitbart News makes this observation:
You see, that’s what I don’t get about urban Democrats. This poll clarifies how unhappy they are, but they refuse to change course. It’s all falling down around them, and they refuse to change course. What’s even funnier is that Chicago had the choice of a more moderate Democrat. The race came down to the radical Johnson and the moderate Paul Vallas. The idiots went for the radical.
Will the people of Chicago ever try anything different? Probably not.

Get a foldable on the cheap with this Black Friday Z Flip 5 deal
One of the hottest smartphones this Black Friday is going to be the Galaxy Z Flip 5 foldable, and this cheap contract deal gets us off to a great start.
Buymobiles is offering the Galaxy Z Flip 5 on a 24 month Three contract, with a generous 100GB of monthly data allowance, for £36 a month. Usually there’d be a £29 up front fee, but that’s been waived as part of the Black Friday deal.
The true value of this deal can only really be appreciated when you add everything up. With a total payment of £864, you’re paying almost £200 less than the phone costs outright from Samsung (£1,049) without that contract. It’s a bargain alright.
Get the Galaxy Z Flip 5 with 100GB of monthly data for £864
Buymobiles is offering the Galaxy Z Flip 5 on contract for just £36 a month, with no up front fee, which is way cheaper than buying the foldable outright.
Buymobiles100GB of data£36 a month, no up front feeWe rate the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 to be one of the better, more practical foldable phones on the market. We scored it 4 out of 5 in our review, calling it “a big improvement on the Z Flip 4 with a larger cover display, improved performance and a gapless fold”.
Of particular note is the Z Flip 5’s premium clamshell design, with its gapless fold making everything feel tighter and classier. We also appreciate the phone’s uncompromised performance, with a souped-up Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip making everything fly.
The new 3.4-inch external display is bigger and just plain more useful than before, allowing you to run specific apps like Messages and YouTube without opening up the handset.
Throw in a pair of dependable 12MP cameras, and you have a seriously accomplished compact foldable. One of the things we doubted about the Galaxy Z Flip 5 at launch was its value for money in a newly competitive foldable scene, but at this Black Friday price any such concerns go out of the window.

MSNBC Host Says with Straight Face That 45-Year-Olds Couldn’t Do What Biden Does | The Gateway Pundit
President Joe Biden is clearly a frail and feeble 80-year-old man, but left-wing MSNBC is so eager to boost his popularity that it can’t even admit the glaringly obvious truth.
MSNBC commentator Mike Barnicle, for one, broke out his best Baghdad Bob impression to show that he can shuck and jive and shill for Biden better than any Leni Riefenstahl reject could when he insisted that the president is even more spry and vital than a 45-year-old man.
Barnicle may be spinning reality only for himself, though. Most voters understand that Biden’s age is a serious problem.
Regardless, appearing on the network’s “Morning Joe” on Tuesday, Barnicle blasted the media for mistreating Biden.
“Very few of us, very few in the media, really pay enough attention to the weight that this president carries each and every day. You mentioned most of it. Right now, he is carrying two twin towers of tyranny,” he said.
“One in Donald Trump here domestically, the other Bibi Netanyahu in Israel, who’s perhaps the biggest obstacle to a two-state solution that exists today. So the president has that on his plate,” the commentator outrageously posited.
“He’s got a meeting tomorrow with President Xi [Jinping], Premier Xi in San Francisco. He’s got that on his plate. But he has, every hour of every day, something that comes across his desk,” Barnicle added.
But the absurd shilling in his closing comments showed he either has no integrity or is detached from reality.
“None of us can comprehend the weight of the presidency, every hour of every day. And as he would tell you if he were here today, it’s amazing how every country in the world looks to the United States for help, for solutions, for just almost anything you can think of. Every single day,” Barnicle said.
“But you read every newspaper in the country, read every newspaper in the country about President Biden, within the first two paragraphs they’ll point out he’s in his 80s. No kidding. He knows how old he is,” he said in mock disgust.
“You couldn’t do it. I couldn’t do it. Someone 45 years of age couldn’t do what he does every day, but he does it,” Barnicle said.
MSNBC’s @mikebarnicle: “Someone 45 years of age couldn’t do what [Biden] does every day, but he does it.” pic.twitter.com/XSyi0tnFLM
— Tom Elliott (@tomselliott) November 14, 2023
This blather is simply a blatant denial of what we all have seen from the president.
Joe Biden is clearly not a spry, vital man. He wanders around stages clearly confused about where he should go. He frequently trips and falls, as elderly people often do because they just can’t keep their balance. He muffs speeches, forgets people’s names and falls back into tall tales about his life and experiences that he claims to have had despite them being debunked time and again.
All these are clear signs of the certain levels of senility that most of us will naturally fade into if we reach our 80s.
But Barnicle is so sold on the Biden agenda that he refuses to admit to the obvious reality right in front of our eyes.
Of course, his flights of fancy and bald-faced partisanship aren’t fooling anyone.
45 years of age? I’m in my 70s , and I could easily do what Biden does every day: call a lid by 9:00 am, take every weekend off, go on vacation 45% of the time, and stumble through reading a teleprompter.
Easy peasy.
— Phillip Jackson (@PEJ1952) November 14, 2023
They lie to themselves and us to hide the reality from themselves that there are undeniable age related problems with this President.
— Gardenman (@StevenS11702) November 14, 2023
Imagine thinking normal people will believe that.
— Kelkat (@Tweetytweeter63) November 14, 2023
Barnicle is a living example of the old joke, “Are you going to believe me, or are you going to believe your lying eyes?”
But he also seems quite typical of the left-wing media, so sold out to pushing Biden’s agenda that falsehoods and denial of reality have become their stock in trade.

Amazon has started replacing Android on its devices
Amazon has begun replacing Android on its smart devices with an all-new custom OS.
It might not seem like it, but Amazon devices in the Fire HD tablet, Fire TV, and Echo Show lines run on a heavily forked version of Android. You’dthink that Amazon would be keen to purge one of its biggest tech rivals from its system, and you’d be right.
It recently emerged that the online retail giant was developing its own Linux-based operating system, called Vega OS, with the intention of writing Android out of the story altogeteher. The claim made was that Amazon would start the process next year, but now it seems the swap may have started already.
The Zatz Not Funny website has discovered that this so-called Vega OS is already up and running on final Amazon hardware. An Amazon Echo Show 5 (3rd Generation) has been observed with software that resets its naming and numbering to the generic ‘OS 1.1’.
Another indicator that this is an early version of an all-new operating system is the fact that the OS 1.1 Eco Show no longer runs Netflix.
Of course, running a new OS on a smart display is one thing. It’ll be a much bigger task bringing that OS to Fire devices, which have offered a vast App Store filled with Android-based apps for more than a decade now.
Presumably the sheer install base of Amazon’s device ecosystem will encourage those developers to make the necessary changes to tweak their apps.

But a century later, probably due to the Spanish Conquest, it was abandoned.
Up until 1911, when American historian and explorer Hiram Bingham discovered it, the location was kept secret from the general public. Ukrainian Lawmaker Dubinsky Imprisoned for 60 Days and Charged With Treason for ‘Misinformation’ – Is Sanctioned by US for Divulging Proof of Burisma Corruption | The Gateway Pundit
It seemed just a play on Kiev’s shadow civil war, but it turns out there are also Burisma corruption ties involved.
The Ukrainian lawmaker charged with treason for ‘misinformation’ has been remanded in detention for 60 days – and, as the story unfolds and we get a better notion of who Oleksandr Dubinsky is, it turns out the story involves Joe and Hunter Biden, Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani.
Initial information was that Dubinsky was in hot water for his recent comments on the chaotic situation in the country, the unchecked corruption in Volodymyr Zelensky’s circle.
He wrote that the ‘real president’ was the Head of the Presidential Office Andrey Yermak, who went to Washington to gain authorization to ditch Commander in Chief Valery Zaluzhny, currently involved in a power play with Zelensky.
Ukraine Human Rights Abuses reported:
“Zelensky eliminates any political competitor or even critic of his actions.
Ukrainian parliament member Dubinsky, once a member of Zelensky party turned Zelensky critic is charged with treason and sent to jail without bail by the court at night.”
Dubinsky was once a star at the ‘Servant of the People’ party.
“Slowly but surely the regime is devouring itself. It is also a gift for Biden, after all, it was Dubinsky who leaked the Poroshenko-Biden tapes, tying him to Hunter Biden-Burisma corruption.”
Yes. We read that right.
Dubinsky is on a U.S. sanctions list for ‘election meddling’ – for releasing evidence of rampant Burisma corruption that would implicate Joe and Hunter Biden.
Reuters reported:
“‘The court supported the prosecution’s request to impose a remand on me in the form of detention for 60 days until January 12, 2024’, Dubinsky said in a video posted on his Telegram channel. Dubinsky did not detail the reason for his detention.”
SBU said that Dubinsky was a part of a criminal organization created in 2016, that included an ex-lawmaker, and an ex-prosecutor.
“‘It is established that on the instructions of the Russian special services, it organized events to discredit the image of Ukraine in the international arena in order to worsen diplomatic relations with the United States and complicate Ukraine’s accession to the European Union and NATO’, the State Investigative Bureau said in a separate statement published on its website.”
The Guardian had further detail:
“Former MP Andriy Derkach, and former prosecutor Kostiantyn Kulych, are also accused of being part of the network. Both are believed to be in hiding outside Ukraine.
‘The main task of this organization was to take advantage of the tense political situation in Ukraine and discredit our state in the international arena’, the SBU statement said.
‘For this, the group received money from Russian military intelligence. This financing amounted to more than $10m [£8m].’.”
In late 2019, as the ‘first impeachment hoax’ charges against Trump were being drafted, Dubinsky and Derkach claimed they had uncovered corruption at Burisma.
This can’t be a coincidence – so now we wait to assess what is the underlying play here.

In a now-viral video, Nikki Haley, the former South Carolina Governor and a contender for the GOP presidential nomination has called for social media reforms that will end anonymous social media posting, citing national security concerns.
Haley proposed two significant reforms. Firstly, she insisted that social media companies should disclose their algorithms to the public. This move, according to Haley, is necessary to understand the basis of content promotion on these platforms.
“When I get into office, the first thing we have to do is social media accounts, social media companies, they have to show America their algorithms. Let us see why they’re pushing what they’re pushing,” Haley said during an interview with FOX News.
Secondly, and more controversially, Haley called for the mandatory verification of all social media users with their real names. She labeled anonymous social media posting as a “national security threat.”
“The second thing is every person on social media should be verified by their name,” Haley suggested, adding, “It’s a national security threat.”
According to Haley, this measure would eliminate the influence of foreign bots from countries like Russia, Iran, and China and foster greater accountability and civility online.
“When you do that, all of a sudden people have to stand by what they say and it gets rid of the Russian bots, the Iranian bots and the Chinese bots. And then you’re going to get some civility when people know their name is next to what they say, and they know their pastor and their family members are going to see it, it’s going to help our kids and it’s going to help our country.”

Critics argue that this proposal from Haley is unconstitutional. The First Amendment to the United States Constitution protects the right to free speech, and this right extends to online speech. This means that, in general, you have the right to post on social media anonymously without fear of government censorship.
Governor Ron DeSantis blasted Nikki Haley, saying, “You know who were anonymous writers back in the day? Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, and James Madison when they wrote the Federalist Papers.”
DeSantis added that “they were not “national security threats,” nor are the many conservative Americans across the country who exercise their Constitutional right to voice their opinions without fear of being harassed or canceled by the school they go to or the company they work for. Haley’s proposal to ban anonymous speech online — similar to what China recently did — is dangerous and unconstitutional. It will be dead on arrival in my administration.”
Also citing the Federalist Papers, Ramaswamy criticized her remarks as “disgusting.”
“Alexander Hamilton, John Jay & James Madison wrote the Federalist Papers under pseudonym. Here’s what they would say to Nikki Haley if they were alive: get your heels off my neck & go back to England,” Ramaswamy wrote.
It can be recalled that Vivek took a jab at Haley during the third GOP debate. Vivek made a remark about Haley’s daughter’s use of the Chinese-owned app TikTok.
“In the last debate, she made fun of me for actually joining TikTok while her own daughter was actually using the app for a long time. So you might want to take care of your family first,” Ramaswamy said.
“Leave my daughter out of your voice,” Haley said. “You’re just scum.”

Tempting Pixel 6 Pro deal turns flagship tech into a budget-friendly bargain
As we draw ever closer to the big Black Friday deal bonanza, more and more deals are beginning to appear at big retailers – which means it’s a perfect time to bag a bargain on a shiny new smartphone. That’s especially true if you’re not too picky about getting the very latest flagship tech, as the best deals are often on one or two-year-old smartphones.
Case and point: Amazon is offering a stunning deal on the two-year-old Google Pixel 6 Pro for a limited time. Priced at £849 at release, it’s available for just £405 at Amazon right now, offering a whopping £444 (or 52%) off. That’s for the 128GB model in the Stormy Black finish.
At £405, the Pixel 6 Pro is more than half off
Grab the highly-rated Pixel 6 Pro on Amazon now for only £405, representing a massive saving of £444 (52%) compared to its original RRP. It may be a couple of years old, but the tech remains impressive for the price.
The Google Pixel 6 Pro may not have the same flagship allure as it once did with the release of the subsequent Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 8 Pro, but at the £400 mark, the tech within the Pixel 6 Pro is still impressive. From the flagship Tensor chipset to an AI-enabled high-end triple camera setup rarely seen at the price point, it makes the Pixel 6 Pro a mid-range bargain.
The deal is even more tempting when you realise that this is among the cheapest the Pixel 6 Pro has been since its launch in late 2021. There has been a variation of around £5 over the past few weeks, as seen in the above graph, but broadly speaking, this is the cheapest the Pixel 6 Pro has ever been. It is a genuine bargain, and one well worth snapping up if you can!

In just about every way, the Pixel 6 Pro represents a better choice over much of the mid-range competition. It boasts a 6.7-inch OLED display with flagship-level tech like a 90Hz refresh rate with LTPO tech and HDR support, and an in-screen fingerprint scanner for added security. It’s also a pretty good-looking phone with a glass-and-metal construction and a full IP68 water resistance rating rarely seen at the discounted price point.
But the main reason to get the Pixel 6 Pro is, of course, the camera setup. The triple rear camera setup comprises a 50MP primary lens, a 48MP 4x telephoto lens and a 13MP ultrawide, with impressive AI-enabled features like Night Sight and Magic Eraser delivering a top-notch photography experience that’s hard to beat.
Throw in access to a clean version of Android with handy AI tweaks, solid battery life, and a software promise to bring Android 14 to the older flagship, and you’ve got a very tempting phone indeed.
