Trump Praises Johnson for Having the ‘Courage and Fortitude’ to Release the Full January 6 Tapes | The Gateway Pundit

Former President Donald Trump praised Speaker Mike Johnson on Friday after Republicans began releasing the full security footage from January 6.

The Committee on House Administration shared the footage.

Approximately 90 hours of the 44,000 hours of footage had been released on Friday, but the full trove is expected to be uploaded by Monday.

“Today, we will begin immediately posting video on a public website and move as quickly as possible to add to the website nearly all of the footage, more than 40,000 hours,” Johnson said in a statement.

“This decision will provide millions of Americans, criminal defendants, public interest organizations, and the media an ability to see for themselves what happened that day, rather than having to rely upon the interpretation of a small group of government officials,” Johnson said.

Johnson added that individuals can request specific videos from the committee directly.

In a post to Truth Social, Trump congratulated Johnson for releasing the footage, which Republicans, especially Rep. Matt Gaetz, have been fighting to make public.

“Congratulations to Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson for having the Courage and Fortitude to release all of the J6 Tapes, which will explicitly reveal what really happened on January 6th!” Trump wrote.

The footage can be accessed here.

Faces of private individuals have been blurred. Approximately five percent of the footage is being held back due to security concerns about building security.

Former Speaker Kevin McCarthy had previously given the tapes to former Fox News host Tucker Carlson before he was unceremoniously fired from the network.

NYC Mayor Adams Announces City will Reduce NYPD Officers to Below 30,000, Slash Education Department Due to Financial Impact of Illegal Aliens (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit

New York City Mayor Eric Adams on Thursday announced new budget cuts due to the financial strain the hordes of illegal aliens is causing the City.

Tens of thousands of illegal aliens have flooded New York City in the last year due to Biden’s open borders policies.

According to the New York Post: “Since last spring, over 72,000 people have flooded into Gotham with over 45,000 currently living in 160 taxpayer-funded emergency shelters and hotels.”

The illegals are taking over New York City and now the City is slashing the NYPD force and reducing money allocated toward education.

“For months, we have warned New Yorkers about the challenging fiscal situation our city faces,” said Mayor Adams. “To balance the budget as the law requires, every city agency dug into their own budget to find savings, with minimal disruption to services. And while we pulled it off this time, make no mistake: Migrant costs are going up, tax revenue growth is slowing, and COVID stimulus funding is drying up. No city should be left to handle a national humanitarian crisis largely on its own, and without the significant and timely support we need from Washington, D.C., today’s budget will be only the beginning.”

Other New York City officials chimed in on the new budget cuts due to the hordes of illegal aliens flooding NYC.

“Our administration has a legal and fiscal responsibility to come to the table, balance the budget, and make the tough decisions today to ensure a better tomorrow for New York City,” said First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright. “We cannot ask New Yorkers to balance their checkbooks without city leaders doing the same. These tough but necessary decisions were made to protect the city’s fiscal future while continuing to deliver vital government services. However, New York City should not carry this burden on its own. The federal and state government must play their part in delivering long-overdue support, funding, and resources.”

“By law, we’re required to balance our budget, and this November Financial Plan Update successfully does that with minimal disruptions to services,” said Chief of Staff Camille Joseph Varlack. “Our agencies have stretched dollars further than ever before to deliver as many services as possible to New Yorkers while securing our city’s financial future, and I’m grateful to the dedicated public servants who will have to do more with less as COVID stimulus dries up, tax revenue growth levels off, and the asylum seeker crisis continues to eat away at our city’s finances. But we’re not out of the woods yet, not by a long shot. If we don’t get the help we need from the federal government, we’ll have to take more drastic measures to balance our budget going forward.”

“We must balance our budget in wake of the $12 billion that we project to spend as a result of the migrant crisis. Our budget has been balanced with heavy hearts. Our administration is outraged to have to implement these cuts, which are a direct result of the lack of financial support from Washington, D.C., which is derelict in its responsibility to institute a national plan to mitigate a national crisis and has instead elected to dump its job to handle this migrant crisis upon the lap of a municipality and its mayor. A national crisis demands a national solution,” said Chief Advisor Ingrid P. Lewis-Martin. “The November Financial Plan Update we are releasing today reflects those realities and continues to demonstrate our responsible fiscal stewardship of this city. I am grateful to our agencies for their efforts to find efficiencies and minimize the impact that New Yorkers will feel, but unless we get the help we need and deserve from our federal partners, things will get worse for the most vulnerable New Yorkers. The federal government should be ashamed for putting those most in need in a more dire situation where services that they depend upon are being cut.”

Deezer’s Shaker allows you to share music across streaming services

Deezer has launched a new feature in Shaker that allows users to share music with others across different music streaming platforms.

With Shaker, you can share music with your friends by generating a playlist that blends everyone’s favourite songs into one. It also allows you to discover how “compatible you and your friends are through fun shareable insights”.

You can add up to 14 different friends through the feature and they don’t need a Deezer subscription to participate. Music can be imported from every major music streaming platform with no need to download the Deezer app. This isn’t the same feature from Deezer that allows you to transfer your library from one service to another.

The Shaker algorithm works by generating a mix that includes a selection of 70 songs tailored to your group’s preferences. Not happy with the mix? You can refresh it with one click to fit your tastes, and if you want curate playlists manually, then Shaker allows you pick and choose yourself.

Deezer says it’s not just about sharing music with Shaker. You can also find out more about your friends’ interests, discovering what artists and songs are common amongst the group.

You will need a subscription to Deezer to access the feature, but once you’re in, your friends won’t need to download the app to enjoy Shaker with you.

Alexandra Leloup, VP Product at Deezer, said about the new feature: “Shaker is designed to create a feeling of connection, encourage people to experience music more freely, erase the boundaries between friends, and create a space where you can discover new songs to fall in love with. Ratings for the show have been on a steady downward decline for years for reasons which seem obvious to everyone except people in Hollywood.

America stopped paying attention because people don’t want to be lectured about politics from rich liberals who live in a bubble.

Jimmy Kimmel to Host 2024 Oscars Ceremony

Emmy Award winner Jimmy Kimmel is back as the host for the upcoming 2024 Oscars ceremony, marking the late-night star’s fourth time fronting the show. Emmy nominee Molly McNearney will also return to serve as an executive producer for the second consecutive year in a row.

The “Jimmy Kimmel Live” host previously led the 2017, 2018 and 2023 telecasts. The 2017 ceremony produced the now infamous “La La Land” and “Moonlight” best picture screw-up. Kimmel will now sit alongside other four-peaters such as Whoopi Goldberg and Jack Lemmon. The only people to host more times are Johnny Carson (5), Billy Crystal (9) and Bob Hope (11).

“I always dreamed of hosting the Oscars exactly four times,” said Kimmel in a statement. McNearney adding that she’s “especially honored to be part of the Oscars team this year.”

“We are thrilled about Jimmy returning to host and Molly [McNearney] returning as executive producer for the Oscars,” said Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy President. “They share our love of movies and our commitment to producing a dynamic and entertaining show for our global audience. We are deeply grateful to Jimmy, Molly and their teams for their incredible creativity and partnership and for going on this ride with us again.”

The “Windows App” for Mac, iOS, and browsers is a fancy remote desktop, for now

Enlarge / If you have a bunch of Windows systems, Microsoft now has an app for that. It’s called “Windows App.” Microsoft just has a certain way with naming things.

It feels strange to say it, but it’s true: There is an app called, simply, “Windows.” It’s available for early testing on Mac, iOS and iPad, the web, Windows, and eventually Android, and it’s made by Microsoft. The fact that it exists, with such a strong and simple name, says something larger than the rather plain and starting-stage app it is now.

“Windows App,” as named by Microsoft in a rare bit of minimalism, is essentially a convenient remote desktop connection to a Windows OS on a physical system, an Azure virtual desktop, a Dev Box, or elsewhere. There are some other tricks you can pull off, too, like using your local device’s webcam, speakers, and printer connections with your remote Windows system. But you can easily read a “Windows app” for multiple platforms, including web browsers generally, as being the next step in Microsoft’s slow march toward making a virtual Windows OS something that seems convenient for everybody, whether on a business or personal account.

At the moment, you need a work or school account with Microsoft to use most of the features beyond a traditional remote desktop connection. To use a remote desktop connection, the Windows instance you’re connecting to must be running a Pro edition, as Home lacks the ability to host a remote desktop connection. There are, of course, many ways to connect to a remote PC from nearly any device, including RealVNC and others.

As noted by The Verge, Windows’ potential as a cloud-hosted PC, not just for enterprises but also for individuals, was spelled out in the FTC v. Microsoft hearings, stemming from Microsoft’s now-completed attempt to acquire game publisher Activision-Blizzard-King. Under “Long Term Needle-Moving Opportunities” in a slide in a consumer-minded “Modern Life” presentation is “Move Windows 11 increasingly to the Cloud.” By expanding the OS-streaming Windows 365 service to non-corporate desktops, Microsoft aims to “use the power of the cloud and client to enable improved AI-powered services” while providing “full roaming of people’s digital experience.” The Verge also notes that while the Windows App is business/education-only for the moment, sign-in language indicates that Microsoft is already working on a version for personal accounts.

It’s also worth noting that the Windows app’s browser version specifically supports Chrome and Chrome OS. Microsoft’s efforts to slice off Google’s share of Google’s K-12 education market have previously involved its ill-fated “S” series and other hardware maneuvers. With a streamlined, officially supported Windows remote streaming tool that has some bidirectional powers, the company might hope to answer that eternally popular but unresolved search query, “Windows on Chromebook.”
