Jamie Raskin Rips James Comer’s Flailing Biden Impeachment Investigation

House Oversight Committee ranking member Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) said that Comer’s impeachment investigation is embarrassing and flailing.

Raskin said:
Chairman Comer’s flailing and unauthorized ‘impeachment inquiry’ into President Biden just ran into a brick wall of arguments by the White House that should really make him rethink the whole embarrassing and self-destructive exercise. The legislative process is designed to enhance the common good of the people and should never be used just to smear and harass a President, his White House staff, and people in his family.

Throughout this investigation, Chairman Comer has distorted a lot of facts, invented some, and concealed the evidence in an effort to distract from his utter failure to find any proof of wrongdoing by the President, much less an impeachable offense.

These recent subpoena and transcribed interview requests are another vain attempt to interfere with the justice system and existing special counsel investigations. With the possible exception of Donald Trump, nobody is impressed by the Chairman’s requests.

Raskin is correct. The White House is going to fight the subpoenas and the fact that the House hasn’t authorized the investigation, or given a legislative purpose for the probe could mean that the White House has a good chance of winning, or at minimum tying up the investigation in court for a very long time.

House Republicans should rethink this abuse of power misadventure. House Republicans need to stop weaponizing their oversight powers before voters kick them out of the majority next November.

5 ADHD Nutrition Myths To Stop Believing

The internet is full of ways to “hack your health” with food, most of which are rooted in wellness culture (cough, diet culture). Examples include the “need” to detox (fake), the benefits of chlorophyll water (not as clear-cut as it’s portrayed on TikTok), skipping out on dairy for your gut health (myth!), and more. These “trends,” so to speak, get us further and further away from knowing what our body is actually telling us it needs and wants…but I’ll get on my soapbox about that another day.

For now, let’s talk about the intersection of diet and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder and the  ADHD nutrition myths to stop believing. Hint: If you’ve heard the old misconception that sugar makes kids hyper, you already have an idea of what we’re talking about here.

The most common ADHD nutrition myths to stop believingMyth 1: Processed food makes ADHD symptoms worse

In short, research simply doesn’t back this up1. “The research we do have available is a case study, which only looked at children and their consumption of processed foods, and whether or not these children displayed ADHD symptoms,” says Madelyn Larouche, RD, a non-diet, ADHD dietitian. “The study did not look at cause and effect.”

Part of busting this myth requires busting another: Food being processed isn’t always a “bad” thing.  (Yep, processed foods can be nutrient-dense and good for your body.)

Related Stories

Myth 2: Refined sugars make ADHD symptoms worse

Similarly, the (little) research on sugar and ADHD1 didn’t find any links. What’s more, sugars (and the carbs that break down into them) are crucial for our bodies. “Carbohydrates are an essential macronutrient that humans need to function, and are also the body’s preferred fuel source,” Larouche says.

A quick fun fact: The brain of an average-sized adult needs 130 grams of carbs per day for healthy brain function, which is the equivalent of about nine slices of multigrain bread. In other words, you need more carbs than you probably realize. Without enough carbs in your system, you may experience low energy, difficulty focusing, and more.

Larouche makes another helpful, validating, point about this in a pinned Instagram post, in which she writes: “There is nothing wrong with using food as a source of stimulation! Pair the carb with a protein or a fat for a more satisfying snack that will help you feel satiated and to promote stable blood sugars.” This doesn’t mean you’re “addicted to sugar,” either, as she types in the reel.

Along those lines, it’s important to avoid demonizing any foods. “There is no ‘good’ or ‘bad’ carbohydrate,” Larouche adds.

Myth 3: Gluten makes ADHD symptoms worse

Larouche says there are currently no studies that look at the correlation between ADHD and a gluten-free diet. “The only reason anyone should be limiting or completely excluding gluten is if they have celiac disease or are sensitive to gluten,” she says.

In fact, cutting out food groups like these when you don’t need to can cause problems. In particular, Larouche points to nutrient deficiencies and a leaky gut.

Myth 4: Dairy makes ADHD symptoms worse

Just like gluten, Larouche says no research has looked at the link between dairy and ADHD, so there’s no need to limit your intake unless you have an allergy or intolerance.

Plus, by cutting out dairy if you don’t have to, you’re missing out on its major benefits: “Dairy is a great source of calcium and vitamin D, which support bone health,” Larouche adds. “Excluding dairy for no known reason—especially when you’re not supplementing with calcium and vitamin D—can lead to rickets in children and/or osteoporosis in adults.”

Myth 5: Intermittent fasting reduces ADHD symptoms

According to Larouche: “Folks with ADHD who are eating every three to four hours will experience more focused energy than those who are fasting and going long periods of time without eating.” She recommends that you instead eat a balanced breakfast within one to two hours of waking up, and eat every three to four hours after.

And that makes sense, as not eating enough can lead to persistent thoughts about food, low energy, mood changes, and other undesirable side effects.

Further, Larouche recommends eating a variety of foods. Doing so can support energy levels, attention span, focus, and overall wellness, she says.

Don’t have much time or energy for cooking? That’s okay—don’t let it be a roadblock, if at all possible. “Choose quick, easy options to help reduce the time, steps, and overwhelm you may experience when it comes to meal prep,” Larouche recommends. ADHD-friendly dinners are a thing that can make adequate meals more accessible and maybe even…exciting.

When your goal is to become better informed about your food choices and how they affect your overall health, it’s important to educate yourself about the facts about your dietary choices, which can look like busting some ADHD nutrition myths or other lies diet culture would have you believe are true.

“He Had Absolutely No Idea Where He Was” – Trump Mocks Joe Biden For Getting Lost at APEC Summit (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit

President Trump spoke at the Iowa ‘Commit to Caucus’ event in Fort Dodge on Saturday afternoon approximately 2 months before the Iowa Republican caucuses.

The crowd was chanting: “USA, USA, USA!”

“This is really what our country is all about. We are going to bring it back. We are going to bring it back from hell.” President Trump said.

Trump mocked Joe Biden as a “stupid” person and made fun of him for wandering around lost at this week’s APEC summit in San Francisco.

Trump said Joe Biden had absolutely no idea where he was this week.

“Biden was in San Francisco for a summit with China looking like he had absolutely no idea where he was, what was happening, or what the hell he was supposed to do,” Trump said before making hilarious hand gestures.

Another Leftist Insurrection? HUNDREDS Of Pro-Hamas Agitators INVADE Locked University of Michigan Building, Bully Cops, and Scream Slogans Calling For Israel’s Destruction (VIDEOS) | The Gateway Pundit

Credit: @HumanDilemma_

This is what a real insurrection looks like. But don’t expect them to receive decades in prison.

CBS News reported that a radical Palestinian “advocacy” group stormed a prominent campus building on the University of Michigan’s campus. And they were not there to protest Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh’s suspension by the Big Ten.

The network reported the group, Members of the Students Allied for Freedom and Equality (SAFE), allied with a coalition of 45 leftist student organizations to demand the university divest from companies they claim are contributing to the crisis in Gaza. Of course, they are not blaming Hamas, the real culprit, because they support the Islamist group against Israel.

A U of M spokesperson told CBS News at least 200 protestors “forcefully gained access to a locked Ruthven Administration Building.” Students are still in the building at the moment.

Before the invasion, you can see the protesters corner the campus police while chanting, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free!” which codes for wiping Israel off the map.

They were also reportedly heard chanting, “Intifada, Intifada, long live the Intifada!” and “Death to Israel!”

Another video shows them piling in like sardines and screaming, “The people united will never be defeated!” Draw your own conclusions regarding what they mean by that.

Apple adopting RCS is great, but it isn’t iMessage for Android

OPINION: Apple this week shocked the tech world by finally conceding in a long-running battle between it and Android giant Google to bring RCS support to iPhones. It’s something Apple has refused to do for the past few years, but it’ll finally be coming to iPhones sometime in 2024.

That’s great news for Android and iOS fans alike, as RCS delivers a much richer messaging experience than the standard SMS/MMS experience that’s not too dissimilar to the iMessage experience on iPhones. Considering the SMS/MMS protocols were developed way back between 1992 and 2002, an upgrade is well overdue.

Google and Samsung have both already adopted the RCS standard so Android-to-Android chats already benefit from many new smart features like read receipts, the ability to send stickers and GIFs, enjoy a richer group chat experience and, arguably most importantly, the ability to send and receive high-res photos and videos without the associated MMS costs.

It also works on both cellular and Wi-Fi, just like iMessage and WhatsApp, which makes it easier to message friends and family when in a poor coverage area.

The good news is that once Apple rolls out RCS support in 2024, many of these features will also be available when messaging your iPhone-wielding buddies, which should make for a much more fluid conversation experience than SMS – but conversely, we don’t know all the crucial details about Apple’s plans for integration and the features that’ll be available.

The biggest question I have is, will Apple ditch the dreaded green bubble? Aside from the fact that white text on an azure green background doesn’t look great and might subconsciously put iPhone users off from texting Android friends, it has been reported that green bubbles can go as far as to put prospective daters off

It’s a silly thing, really, but it’s something that iPhone owners in particular seem to care a lot about – particularly in the US where WhatsApp use isn’t as widespread as in the rest of the world.

Some assume that RCS = blue bubbles, but that’s likely not the case. In fact, initial reporting from the BBC suggests that Apple intends to keep messages in the same green hue – though Apple has yet to publicly confirm.

Samsung Galaxy S23 UltraSamsung Galaxy S23 UltraImage Credit (Trusted Reviews)

Another assumption is that RCS will bring the iMessage experience to Android, and that’s also probably not going to be the case. RCS does bring a few iMessage features into the fold, but there are several hugely popular features – like message reactions or the ability to edit or unsend recently sent messages – that likely won’t be a part of the new functionality.

An Apple spokesperson said RCS “will work alongside iMessage, which will continue to be the best and most secure messaging experience for Apple users.” If Apple wants iMessage to continue to be the ‘best’, why would it share all its best features?

So, while it’s a significant step forward for both iOS and Android users, it isn’t iMessage for Android. You’ll still need to use a third-party app like Nothing Chats, Sunbird or Beeper for that.

Newsom Awarded Millions to Mosques Preaching Anti-Semitism, Groups Allegedly Tied to Hamas: Report | The Gateway Pundit

Gavin Newsom is up to his usual tricks.

The Washington Free Beacon reported that the California governor has provided funding to mosques that preach anti-Semitism as well as Islamic advocacy groups with alleged ties to Hamas.

In January 2022, Newsom’s office released $47.5 million to provide “physical security enhancements to nonprofit organizations that are at high risk for violent attacks and hate crimes due to ideology, beliefs or mission.”

Of that money, $40 million has gone to “mosques whose leaders cheer the annihilation of Jews and Israel,” according to the Free Beacon.

Despite California having a budget shortfall of $32 billion, Newsom confirmed last month that he would double funding for the program after the Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel that took place on Oct. 7.

The Free Beacon reported that recipients of the funds include the Sajjadia Islamic Society, where a preacher this month declared that Allah sent “the rockets from Hamas or Hezbollah” to strike Israel and praised Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.

At another recipient mosque, the Islamic Society of Corona-Norco, a preacher claimed this month that it is a “lie” that Hamas’ attack on Israel was “unprovoked.”

“If I hear that term again, I’ll go crazy,” the preacher said. “Unprovoked in what dictionary?”

At another, the Islamic Center of San Gabriel Valley, a preacher expressed support for “the Palestinian brothers and sisters that are fighting” Israel.

“Shame on you if you label them terrorists,” he said. He also denied that Hamas murdered Israeli civilians on Oct. 7, saying, “If you’re going to make a claim that Muslims killed innocent civilians, you better be able to prove it.”

At the Islamic Center of San Diego, which the Free Beacon noted was the home mosque of two 9/11 hijackers, an imam said “resistance [against Israel] is justified.”

“We cannot accuse somebody who is fighting for his life to be a terrorist. The terrorist is the one who started the occupation, not the one who is defending himself,” he said in an Oct. 20 sermon.

Newsom has also funded mosques whose imams have previously called for the destruction of Israel.

Masjed of Riverside, which is affiliated with the Islamic Center of Riverside, received $200,000. (Among the worshipers at the mosque was Syed Rizwan Farook, the perpetrator of the 2015 San Bernardino terror attack that claimed 14 lives.)

The imam of the Islamic Center of Riverside, Mahmoud Harmoush, is known for his violent anti-Semitic rhetoric.

“Oh, Allah, liberate the Al Aqsa Mosque [in Jerusalem] and all the Muslim lands from the unjust tyrants and the occupiers,” he said in a 2017 sermon, according to the Los Angeles Times. “Oh, Allah, destroy them; they are no match for you. Oh, Allah, disperse them and rend them asunder. Turn them into booty in the hands of the Muslims.”

“Wake up; it is time to be a Muslim,” he urged his listeners. “Prayer is not the only thing.”

At the Islamic Center of Hawthorne, which also received a $200,000 grant, imam Hamdy Sadek prayed last year, “Oh Allah, purify the Al-Aqsa Mosque from the malevolence of the Jews.”

The Free Beacon reported that grants have also been awarded to “several Islamic advocacy groups with alleged links to Hamas.”

The Council on American-Islamic Relations, which the federal government has labeled a “co-conspirator of Hamas,” received $135,330 through Newsom’s funding program.

Newsom, who is regularly touted as a future presidential candidate, claims to be a supporter of Israel.

Last month, he visited Israel in the wake of the Hamas attacks to meet with survivors and government officials, sparking anger among many of his anti-Israel constituents.

Brian Ferguson, a spokesman for California’s Office of Emergency Services, told the Free Beacon that it is investigating whether any of the mosques in question have violated the conditions of their grants.

“If it is determined they have, their funding will be immediately revoked,” he said. “As a matter of principle, the State of California rejects hate speech and discrimination in all of its forms. Such speech is a menace to democratic values, social stability and peace.”

It’s certainly true that the iPhone 12 isn’t as fresh-faced as it used to be. But while the iPhone 15 is fresh on the market, we wouldn’t discount the the iPhone 12 altogether.

We revised our review earlier this year and concluded that “It may not be the most recent iPhone, but the iPhone 12 can still offer plenty of bang for its buck”.

Talking of our review, we awarded the iPhone 12 4.5 stars out of 5, praising its fantastic design, reliable cameras, and strong performance. All of those things still hold up today.

On the design front, the iPhone 12 is where Apple last really changed things up. You can still see the same flat-edged design language in today’s iPhone 15.

As for those cameras, a pair of 12MP sensors capture bright, clear, impeccably exposed snaps in all lighting conditions. All the while, Apple’s custom A14 Bionic processor continues to perform wonders.

Factor in Apple’s impeccable ongoing software support – the iPhone 12 will be getting new iOS versions for a couple more years yet – and you have a classy little phone that’s still very much relevant.

Jon Karl of ABC News Admits He Wrote New Anti-Trump Book to Influence the 2024 Election (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit

Jon Karl of ABC News appeared on the Colbert show this week and came right out and admitted that he wrote his latest book, an anti-Trump book of course, in an attempt to sway voters in the 2024 election.

The media spent four solid years claiming that Russia meddled in the 2016 election to help Trump win, but Karl has no problem admitting that he is now trying to meddle in the 2024 election. It’s different when they do it.

No matter how much you think you despise the media, it isn’t enough.

NewsBusters provides a transcript:

STEPHEN COLBERT: Why do you think he has such a lasting grip on a party that had many opportunities to end the specter of him, whether it had been either impeachment or just if Kevin McCarthy hadn’t gone down there and kissed the ring.

JONATHAN KARL: Yeah, I mean there’s a lot that. First of all, it’s important to remember, less than a year ago he was trailing Ron DeSantis in polls. In one Wall Street Journal poll and somewhere by 20 points or so.

COLBERT: It was flipped, just a year ago.

KARL: Yes. Yes, so it wasn’t a total—but, I think part of what’s happened is people look back. There’s anxiety in the country. People have economic anxiety. There’s discontent with Joe Biden and I think there’s some superficially– a sense like “look, if only we can only go back to four years ago, the world was relatively at peace. Inflation was low. Everything was–” I think there is some of that and that’s why I wrote this book because if people are going to go into this next election thinking about that, they also need to be thinking not just about what Trump was, but what he is now in what he is proposing and planning to do, what a second Trump Administration would look like and I don’t think people have come to terms with that at all.

Here’s the video:

Pro-Hamas Protestors Try to Take Over FOX News Headquarters in NYC (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit

Left wing pro-Hamas protesters tried to take over the headquarters of FOX News in New York City this week.

These people constantly claim to be against colonialism, but what do they do? They invade and try to take over the spaces of other people. The irony is completely lost on them.

More than half of these dopes probably don’t even understand the historical and political implications of what they’re protesting.

RedState reported:

They’re back! Fresh from their one-night attempted takeover of the DNC in Washington, D.C., a cabal of Hamas-loving protesters somehow muscled their way into the New York City headquarters of Fox News on Friday…

It was, therefore, no surprise that Fox News found itself as one of those targets. They’re the enemy of the left on a typical day; they’re really in the crosshairs right now because they don’t toe the antisemitic line advocated by the pro-Hamas crowd (and many in the Democrat Party).

The Friday incident saw around thirty members of the radically leftist and antisemitic ANSWER Coalition, which has been behind many of the Pro-Hamas rallies in recent weeks, rush the lobby of the News Corp building, home to Fox News. One protestor banged a drum while the mob chanted, “Fox News, Fox News, you can’t hide, your lies cover up genocide.”

The crowd looked very much like every other “from the river to the sea” gathering of recent weeks. Instead of pitchforks and torches, they wield megaphones and face masks. Always with the masks, these brave warriors.

See a video below:

When will anyone on the left face any real consequences for this kind of behavior? It just keeps happening and nothing is done about it.
