February Wrap Up

If February is over, spring is definitely on it’s way. Oh joy! Oh joy! In fact, here in southwest Idaho we’ve been teased with spring like temperatures. I’ve been going out to the mailbox without a jacket or sweater and wearing flip-flops. I wouldn’t want to stay out there for an hour like that, but I haven’t frozen either.

Books:

A Fall of MarigoldsMy reading fell off a lot this month, as I knew it was bound to. I completed four books: 2 novels, 1 novella, and 1 Christian Living.

One of those novels was A Fall of...

Revealing a New Book Cover

I am so excited to finally get to reveal the cover of my November 2014 release, Love Without End. This is the first book in the Kings Meadow Romance series. (If Kings Meadow sounds familiar to you, it’s because it is the setting of my recent women’s fiction release, A Promise Kept.)

I am busy right now, working on the revisions of Love Without End. Then it will be back to writing the second book in the series.

Anyway, I hope you love the cover as much as I do.

To Read (Reviews) or Not to Read

A Wish & A PrayerNovelists write stories because we want others to read them. There may be lots of additional reasons why we write, but I would venture to say this reason is on every author’s why-I-write list.

When I sent my first book out to the reading public in 1984, there was no Internet. Most offices didn’t even have computers. (Shocking to realize that wasn’t so very long ago!) There were very few periodicals or newspapers where books were reviewed, and mass market romances were seldom selected for those...

A Fall of Marigolds by Susan Meissner

Many years ago, I paid a visit to Ellis Island. An unforgettable experience, especially for someone like me whose ancestors immigrated to America generations ago. That visit led me to write the Coming to America series where each novel begins with part of the immigration process on Ellis Island. And I can never get enough of the history of this very American experience.

A Fall of Marigolds When I heard about award-winning novelist Susan Meissner’s new book, A Fall of Marigolds, I knew I was going to want to read...

A Cover Story

When it comes to book cover art, I have been so very fortunate, especially in my years of writing for the Christian book market. This doesn’t mean that every cover has arrived in my email box already perfect. Sometimes it takes several go-rounds before a cover is what readers will find on the shelves. But here’s one, Ribbon of Years, that didn’t need anything changed after I saw it. It gives the feel of the book, including the time setting (1950′s) when Miriam was the age of the woman on the...
