Video: NOM cofounder's ridiculously convenient take on church/state separation
Robert George, Catholic-motivated conservative who found NOM, will now "explain" why he and his faith-motivated co-laborers are totally free to do things like ban your civil marriage:
Such a red herring. No one is claiming that religious people cannot enter into the public square. PUH LEEZE. Are there atheists in Congress? Short answer: No, not openly.
Also, no is claiming that religion cannot be what brings someone to a fight. Faith motivates people to do lots of things, on all sides of every...

Does NOM's Comm Director think our love is fake?
Check out the highlighted hashtag, which National Organization For Marriage Communications Director Thomas Peters uses for his resistance to Illinois equality:
Because what could be truer or more loving than spending your Valentine's Day working to keep others from solidifying their happiness? Such romantic goals.
Next year, T-Dog, try chocolates. Or new employers.

Laurie Higgins continues to show IL anti-equality movement's true agenda; Calls homosexuality a 'phenomenon'
Another one from the loose-lipped IFI researcher who is going to win us marriage equality in Illinois:
"Some make the absurd argument that since families led by homosexuals exist, schools must teach about them. The truth is, however, that schools have no obligation to teach about every phenomenon that exists, nor do they have to include resources that affirm every phenomenon that exists. Does anyone believe that if a student being raised by polyamorists were enrolled in a public elementary sch...
Laurie Higgins continues to show IL anti-equality movement's true agenda; says it's 'unfortunate' that schools hire gay teachers
I've focused a lot on the militant "ex-gay" advocacy that has come to define the Illinois Family Institute, the organization leading the charge to stop marriage equality in the Land of Lincoln. But now get this one. In a fear claim about potentially married gay and lesbian teachers, IFI researcher Laurie Higgins comes right out and admits it: she, speaking for IFI, thinks it's unfortunate that gay teachers teach kids at all. Take a look:

ADF prays for God to 'manifest goodness' in life of #Prop8 plaintiff Paul Katami
They've already taken it upon themselves to pray for Kristin Perry, Ted Olson, and others who they are opposing in court. The week, it's gay man Paul Katami who gets the second slot, which is always reserved for an oppositional voice and coupled with the "manifest goodness in his/her life" line:
[ADF]
The difference might be subtle, but it's quite obvious to those of us who pay attention to this stuff. The first slot, always saved for someone on their side, gets a prayer geared toward wisdom, p...
NOM pushing nasty meme pitting fatherlessness against gay people's marriage
A new graphic that NOM is pushing around Facebook:
Actually, in my same-sex marriage, fathers are hyper-relevant! In fact, the court that just certified Andrew and me as having a qualified adoptive home put a premium on our two-parent bond. They quite liked our loving, committed, safe, and comfortable home filled with two humans who have made a commitment to each other and to the care of new life. Imagine that.
When President Obama uttered those words, he was referring to the very specific pro...
Catholic Conference of Illinois' Bob Gilligan: Gays can 'control and contain' their 'behavior' (just like cigarette smoking)
It's always maddening when someone reduces our sexual orientations to "behaviors" like cigarette smoking or "attributes" like impatience. But when it's a man who lobbies on behalf of his church against gay people's legal right to marry, it is downright enraging to hear him also use marriage, the one thing he is doggedly working to deny, as the one acceptable vehicle for stewarding these "behaviors."
