What's acceptable on NOM's March For Marriage page?
When a user mentioned a concrete fact...
…his comment was instantly banned. Which is ridiculous. I mean, you don't even have to agree with the SPLC to realize that the organization has, quite verifiably, determined the Family Research Council to meet the high bar of "hate group" status. It just is, regardless of what value you place on that determination.
Nevertheless, NOM deleted that comment within minutes. NOM has not, however, deleted the final comment below, which has been up for more than...

Brian Brown explains deep meaning of world's simplest logo
Brian Brown cannot believe that the newly formed Respect For Marriage coalition is also using two enjoined rings to represent its marriage equality cause. Brian writes:
[The Respect For Marriage coalition is] still using another image you'll recognize: NOM's logo! — well, sort of — they have created a logo to look like NOM's well-recognized conjoined blue and red rings.
Because I designed NOM's logo personally, I find this to be an insulting mockery, as well as very ironic: you see, I created t...
NOM EXPOSED: NOM recruits Catholic Bishops to promote planned ‘Marriage March’
ADF's 4th week of prayer: Roberta Kaplan gets the middle, lack-of-blessing square
Those of you who have seen the past three weeks' sheets know the drill: The first square, from the anti-gay side, gets a blessing; the third square, a Supreme Court justice, gets a largely neutral call; the middle square, always someone on the side of LGBT equality, gets a prayer about "manifest[ing] goodness in his/her life" (because the goodness is not already there, you see).
Here's this week's take:

NOM joins forces with Family Research Council, undeniable anti-LGBT animus
The National Organization For Marriage has announced a new partner for its upcoming marriage march:
That would be this Family Research Council:
--Family Research Council president Tony Perkins:
“Those that understand the homosexual community — the activists — they are very aggressive…everything they accuse us of they are in triplicate. They’re intolerant, they’re hateful, they’re vile, they’re spiteful…Our response to them should be one of love and of compassion. But let me tell you what, it's n...
Jon Huntsman: Conservative, Mormon, marriage equality advocate
The former presidential candidate speaks truth to the GOP's current self-disempowerment:
The party of Theodore Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan has now lost the popular vote in five of the last six presidential elections. The
marketplace of ideas will render us irrelevant, and soon, if we are not honest about our time and place in history. Unfortunately, much of the discussion has focused on cosmetic solutions to, say, our underperformance among ethnic and young voters. This is a mistake: we cannot...
Breaking: The Associated Press to acknowledge married gays' realities
After a few weeks of public frustrations, the AP has announced this change:
husband, wife Regardless of sexual orientation, husband or wife is acceptable in all references to individuals in any legally recognized marriage. Spouse or partner may be used if requested.
New entry in the AP Stylebook: husband, wife [AP]
A great victory for the "Um, seriously—we have to ask for this in the year 2013?!" lobby.

NOM staffers say this stuff like they really believe it
A properly confused visitor to the National Organization For Marriage's so-called "march for marriage" site asked whether that page was for or against same-sex marriage. Check out how NOM organizer Joe Grabowski responded:
(1) I'm for man/woman marriage too. I've toasted many couples, danced many dances, and given countless dollars in gifts. When it comes to the union of love, commitment, and open bars, no one is more game than me.
(2) Individuals and faith communities have every right to speak...
