Illinois' top marriage equality opponent: 'We cannot pretend..homosexual relationships are equal'
Illinois Family Institute head David Smith continues to show how far his opposition really goes. The aggressive "ex-gay" advocate just wrote, publicly on Facebook that he doesn't want gay relationships to be treated as equal:

When it went down a few weeks back, I posted some of the truly nasty signs ("Homosexuality is an abomination unto God"; "God votes no on gays"; etc) that attendees of the official "Save Our Boy Scouts" rally chose to carry. Illinois Family Institute's predictably fair, measured, rational reply to Senate passage of marriage bill
For the aggressively anti-gay Illinois Family Institute, it's either civil marriage equality or the (stock photo) family:

Not even leaving room for a tie? Really? They're just going to go ahead and declare there to be one eventual "winner" and "loser," even though we have on-the-ground evidence in nine other states where both families and states have survived? Seems like a weird bet to make.
