GLAAD: Mark Burnett gives 'Voice' to insidious anti-LGBT coalition
NOM working on go-nowhere legislation exempting business owners who wish to discriminate against gay customers
From the National Organization For Marriage's latest fundraising pitch:
Oh, I can't wait to read this bill's text! They of course won't seek exemptions for all categories, as they know that removing nondiscrimination protections in the areas of race, sex, religion, etc. would make their cause seem as entitled and menacing as it is. They're clearly only talking about LGBT protections and those cake bakers, florists, county clerks, inn keepers, and other vendors/employees who think that that the...
NOM planning a second 'March For Marriage'
This is an incredibly silly idea:
Last year, at least there was a reason for people to show up in DC and march. There were court cases with national attention. It made "sense," as far as that goes, for NOM to have a presence outside the Supreme Court. And yet their crowd was still quite slight—certainly well under what they wanted (despite later spin).
But now? They really think they are going to draw a crowd? For what: To support House Republicans' go-nowhere legislation? Who, other than a sma...
Poll: Most Americans are over this whole discrimination thing, even if their states haven't caught up
A new Freedom To Marry poll (conducted by Anzalone Liszt Grove) shows that a majority of Americans living in states without marriage equality support the freedom to marry. Data at link:
Personally, I can't wait for a future poll on how many Americans think far-right conservatives should apologize for leading us down this costly, divisive, overwrought fight to the great detriment of our national strength and unity.

AFA logic: Unconstitutional laws are same as perfectly constitutional ones
Virginia's Attorney General is nto going to defend his state's marriage ban because he believes, rightly, that it is unconstitutional. Courts are agreeing with him more and more everyday, to say nothing of public opinion.
But check out this nonsense, courtesy of American Family Association top attack dog Bryan Fischer:
Let's ignore Bryan's nastiness about "sexual deviancy" (relatively mild in the larger pantheon of Fischer rhetoric) and just look at his argument. He is seriously suggesting that...
Today in people just doing their job: Virginia AG won't defend obviously unconstitutional state marriage ban
These days, it seems like every minor "win" for the anti-equality side is immediately and resoundingly clobbered by a strong move from the right side of history. When North Carolina passed a marriage ban, President Obama came out and supported marriage. When a TV star makes horrible comments about gay people, a much bigger TV star comes out as gay.
And when an Indiana House committee advances a discriminatory marriage ban? Well, an Attorney General of a purple state reminds that committee, and...

Over 35% of Americans now deal with 'absurd results' thanks to marriage equality, says activist who thinks saying it makes it so
Check out this nonsense:
“In states where marriage has been redefined, it has produced absurd results — in the law, in education, in religious liberties and in what is best for children, families and the common good of society,” he said. “When it comes to defining marriage, history will always be on the side of nature, biology, logic and the collective wisdom of human history.”

DISGUSTING: Indiana committee advances historical pockmark to full House
By a 9-3 partisan vote (I'll let you guess which party went which way, Indiana's House Elections and Apportionment just voted to move the Hoosier's state's proposed besmirching of their state constitution so that it enshrines discrimination into their governing document.
A small step for the wrong side of history—one that the pro-discrimination forces will surely try to paint as a giant leap.

Robert Oscar López remains hopeful that kids of gays will grow up to resent them
The latest from the man who will next week speak alongside NOM president Brian Brown at Utah's "traditional marriage" rally:
"Right now, for same-sex parenting, it seems very bleak to someone like me. There seems to be an overwhelming tidal wave of support for gay parenting arrangements, from divorce with custody going to the gay ex-spouse, to gay adoption, to gestational surrogacy. I cannot lie--I feel extremely alone and isolated sometimes advocating on this issue, because so few children of...
Audio: And by 'essentially the same thing,' Tony Perkins means 'not even close.'
After running down the supposed tales of woe involving the three or four cake bakers and photographers who were told that they must comply with fairly enacted nondiscrimination law, Family Research Council president Tony Perkins tries to use this scenario as a "gotcha" against people on our side:
SOURCE: Washington Watch Live, 1/21/14
The same thing? Riiiiight, Tony. Except not. At all. In any way.
Patrons of a gay bar are customers. They are people from all walks of life who are paying the bar...
