Disney Channel introduces viewers to 'Taylor's other mom Cheryl'
This clip comes from the Disney Channel's Good Luck Charlie, and it marks the first time the mouse-earned network has featured a same-sex couple:
Now sure why Bob had to bear the brunt of the misunderstanding. It's not like she was all quick to catch on either. But I digress.
So far, I haven't heard any social conservatives react to the episode, largely because they are too obsessed with last night's same-sex weddings at the Grammy's. In the hierarchy of outrage, primetime network TV always tru...

Reality TV star Josh Duggar heading to Indiana to lobby for anti-gay marriage amendment
Tony Perkins' new righthand man, Family Research Council Action head and 19 Kids and Counting star Josh Duggar, is booking his trip to Indiana so that he can use his reality TV fame to help make life less fair and free for Hoosier state gays:
And here's the press release:
INDIANAPOLIS, Jan. 24, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Family Research Council Action (FRC Action), American Family Association of Indiana, and the Indiana Family Institute will hold a news conference in the Indiana State Hous...
Does Utah's 'Celebration of Marriage' group think gay parents are no better than slaveowners?
I ask the question in the headline, because the man who is scheduled to speak at this "Celebration of Marriage" group's big rally in Salt Lake City, Robert Oscar López...
...has come right out and said that gay parents like myself are "no better" than slaveowners:
Want more? He's also chastised the parents of teenagers who took their own lives and programs that tried so desperately to save them:
This is who is slated to speak at the January 28 rally at the Utah state capitol, right alongside Nat...
GLAAD: On night feedings, diaper changes, and vicious political attacks
Sorry, NOM—even Tony Perkins knows a Fed. Marriage Amendment is dead in the water
While I strongly oppose programs like C-SPAN's Newsmakers giving anti-LGBT activist a platform to pretend to be a mere conservative pundit, the man who claims it's "a fact" that gays face eternal damnation did manage to make a little news on that show. After talking about what he would have done differently back when the Federal Marriage Amendment failed the first time, Tony goes on to admit that there is no chance of it going anywhere now (Even if he pretends that weaker measures are possibi...
Would they be making these changes if they were still winning?
As someone who has been doing this work for nearly a decade, and as someone who was a sentient, semi-politically-minded person long before that, I can easily remember the self-confidence of the anti-gay movement when their "wins" came easily. During the early and mid part of the Bush years, the professional anti-LGBT figures and groups were not at all concerned with their tone, and they certainly saw no need to temper their plans for rolling back LGBT rights. They weren't even especially conc...
C-SPAN becomes latest outlet to give Tony Perkins an undeserved, egregious pass
At around the 9:45 mark, the Family Research Council president addresses the marriage debate by claiming that "nobody is for making somebody a criminal—at least most people are not." This despite the fact that Tony's own number two guy, Peter Sprigg, has gone on MSNBC and *directly called for criminal sanctions against homosexuality*!
At around 14:10, Tony says that he doesn't see inciting rhetoric coming from organizations like his. This coming from a man who has said all this (and more) abou...

Video: Focus on the Family's galling 'logic' on nondiscrimination laws; seriously, you have to hear this noise
I swear the anti-LGBT groups have completely lost their minds over these cases involving cake bakers and florists and whatnots who are told they must comply with state nondiscrimination law. Their rationale has moved to a whole new realm of wrong-itude.
Check out this new video from Focus on the Family's "funny" guy, Stuart Shepard. In it, Stuart and his pal Bruce Hausknecht (Focus' judicial analyst) try to claim that the state law, which protects citizens from discrimination on the basis of b...
IMPEACHMENT!
Adorable:
National Organization for Marriage Calls for Impeachment of Virginia's Attorney General for Malfeasance and Neglect of Duty, Abandoning His Oath of Office and Betraying the People of Virginia [NOM]
Or, you know, NOM—you could start backing laws that are fair, sound, and constitutional rather than the discriminatory ones you favor.

Audio: 'Well family, we have to pack up and move. The gay neighbors got married.'
Phyllis Schlafly, grand dame of a movement built around skewing data so that inequality seems like a "value," is now claiming that beleaguered residents of marriage equality states are fleeing in order to escape the happiness in their midst:
Schlafly Claims 'Many Americans' Moving Out of Marriage Equality States In Protest [Right Wing Watch]
Please, please, PLEASE let this be one of the new lines they are going to use as they attempt to find whatever flicker might see them out of their desperat...
