Peter LaBarbera already telling states to ignore inevitable SCOTUS ruling favorable to marriage equality

Reports the American Family Association's One News Now site:

But [Peter] LaBarbera believes that even if the Supreme Court should rule homosexual marriage legal, states should refuse to comply. [SOURCE]

No word if Pete also wants these states to stamp their feet, take their ball, and go home. I'll keep you posted.

So what, Tony—you all are going to picket outside our weddings with gruesome signs and scream at people as they enter?

Of course a man who makes his living off "culture wars" wants this to be true:

Except not. At all. A majority of Americans don't want to ban love or even to make it "safe, legal, and rare."

Supporting LGBT human beings, our families, and our deserved freedoms is the truly pro-life (no smear quotes necessary) position.

*My earlier take on the subject: They're desperate to turn marriage cases into modern-day Roe; it's 95% political and 100% ridiculous [G-A-Y]

Increased understanding that marriage equality is right means we should—make it a federal wrong?! Huh?

Here is NOM's reaction to the U.S. District Judge's ruling against Oklahoma's ban on same-sex marriage, which sounds just like the statements NOM has issued all of the other times a judge has cast the right opinion about inequality:

Today, the National Organization for Marriage renews its call for an amendment to the U.S. Constitution to protect marriage as the union of one man and one woman. The decision by U.S District Court Judge Terence Kern in Oklahoma is the latest in a string of example...

Conserva-favorite pastor: POTUS is basically the AntiChrist's warmup act

Pastor Robert Jeffress, a favorite of GOP notables from Rick Perry to Tony Perkins, says that President Obama, thanks to his support for marriage equality, is paving the way for the AntiChrist's imminent arrival:

"For the first time in history a president of our country has openly proposed altering one of society's (not to mention God's) most fundamental laws: that marriage should be between a man and a woman .... While I am not suggesting that President Obama is the Antichrist, the fact that...

FRC logic: Nondiscrimination incident in state w/out marriage equality proves marriage equality's consequences

This comes from the Family Research Council's press release on today's historic court decision in Oklahoma, quote attributed to president Tony Perkins:

Of course Colorado doesn't have civil marriage equality (or hasn't "redefined marriage," as Tony would put it). The cake was for the non-legally-binding party of a couple who had legally married in Massachusetts prior to entering this cake shop. The issue in that matter has nothing to do with any sort of local policy change on marriage, co...

BREAKING: Judge says OK marriage ban is anything but

The right side of history continues to knock:

Today U.S. District Judge Terence Kern ruled that Oklahoma’s ban on marriage equality is unconstitutional. His ruling is stayed pending appeal, meaning marriages will not occur immediately in the Sooner State.

U.S. District Judge Rules Oklahoma Ban on Marriage Equality Unconstitutional [HRC]

***P.S. I love that the judge's name is Kern, considering the other biggest LGBT rights...

Accurate judges: In refreshing turn, NM's GOP Gov. supports high court's unanimous marriage ruling

New Mexico governor Susana Martinez (R) says she will not back any effort to overturn marriage equality in her state:

Uh oh, Gov. Martinez—you just violated the big conservative commander, "Thou shalt not accept the judiciary's proper role." You in danger, girl.

Tony Perkins: ENDA is for 'those openly engaged in immoral and unhealthy sexual behavior'

To motivate conservatives to give to the organization's political action arm, Family Research Council president Tony Perkins writes the following about why the 2014 election is critically important:

[FRC email blast]

I would say that with very few exceptions, most employees are not "openly engaged" in any kind of sexual behavior during either their interview process or their standard work life. So if an employer is spending time casting moral aspersions about a current or potential worker's pri...

Why is FRC finally acknowledging Tony Perkins' ghost writers?

For a decade or so, the Family Research Council's daily "Washington Update" has come out under Tony Perkins name, written as if every word came from the president's pen. But now, for the first time in the many years I've been monitoring it, the latest edition now includes this distinction:

[Tony Perkins' Washington Update]

My theory: Tony, who rumor has it is gearing up to make a bid for high office, is more bothered by his years of nasty rhetoric than he would ever admit. Some truly awful thin...
