Book Review: Safe With Me
SAFE WITH ME by Kristen Proby: Keeping others safe is what Caleb Montgomery does. He’s never had a problem taking on an assignment, whether it was during his dangerous SEAL days or his most recent job of training war mercenaries. But being assigned to keep Brynna Vincent and her adorable daughters, Maddie and Josie, safe from an unknown threat has thrown Caleb off his axis. Hot for the tall brunette since she came back to town more than a year ago, being close to her day in and day out is cracking Caleb’s resolve to keep his hands off her gorgeous body and his head in the mission.
Brynna is sick and tired of being afraid. All she wants is a normal, quiet life for her and her precious girls. Just as she’s settling into her new home in Seattle and feeling safe again, Caleb shows up on her doorstep insisting the danger is as high as ever. But whether she needs to be sheltered from the threat in her past, or from the intense emotions she feels for the sexy, protective man sleeping in her home, remains to be seen. What will happen if Brynna and her girls fall in love with a man so broken he may not be able to protect them from the danger that threatens, much less himself?
SAFE WITH ME is the fifth book in the With Me In Seattle series, and continues to follow this tight-knit, loving family through life’s trials and tribulations with humor, passion and everlasting love.
TeriLyn's thoughts: Safe With Me did not disappoint. Kristen Proby wrote another great Montgomery clan novel. This is one of my favorite’s series because in each book we get an ongoing glimpse of all our favorite characters from the previous books. I love the whole Montgomery clan. The scenes where they are all together are among my favorites. They're hilarious, loyal, and full of admiration for one another. Safe With Me will not be my favorite of the series because there were a few aspects of the book that I didn't care for but I enjoyed it enough and love all the characters enough to five star it and read it again someday. My one complaint I'll share is the book seemed quite short to me, shorter than the others. There are things about Caleb and Brynna pasts that were only touched upon, we never really learned anything in depth. However, the love they found for each other and for their kids was heartwarming. They needed each other to feel safe and protected. They were both running from their pasts, hoping not to get caught and ended up running right to each other. There are some very hot scenes in this; they're chemistry undeniable. They fall in love hard and fast but try and protect each other and themselves from that love too. Some major events happen with the family in this book and I was happy with them. The brood is growing is more ways than one. I can't wait to read Matt and Nic's story.

Book Review: Simple Perfection
SIMPLE PERFECTION by Abbi Glines: Woods had his perfect life mapped out for him. Rise up the ranks of the family business. Marry the rich girl of his parents’ dreams. Pretend that wealth and privilege was all he’d ever wanted. Then a girl named Della breezed into town, a beautifully imperfect stranger who captured his heart and opened his eyes to a new kind of future. Woods is ready and willing to sacrifice everything for her when the sudden death of his father leaves him with his mother to care for and a business to manage.
Della is determined to be strong for Woods, even as she’s quietly falling to pieces. No matter how far from home she’s run, the ghosts of her past have never stopped haunting her. Struggling to hide her true feelings from Woods, Della fears she can’t be his rock without dragging him down into the darkness with her. But is she strong enough to let go of the last thing holding her together?
TeriLyn's thoughts: Simple Perfection is perfection for me. I liked the follow-up to Woods and Della's story better than the first. The whole Rosemary gang is involved in the book making it that much better. For Woods and Della, Simple Perfection is about healing and making them whole, both individually and as a couple. There is no doubt to anyone that they belong to each other but they both need to face their demons. Some tough scenes will make your heart hurt for them both. Woods is the ultimate protector and through his need to protect Della he forgets that he's smothering the freedom she so desperately craves. However, these two ground and protect each other their need for each other is so strong that it is, at times, strangling. It's beautiful when Della is able to give back to Woods the protection and stability that he has provided her. I have been rooting for Della since we first met her. When in a faceoff with the crazy ex psycho, Angelina, Della states she wants to be tough like Blair. I want that for her too and cheering her on. Woods makes some very mature decisions regarding the future of his club and I couldn't have been happier with him. He was dealt a crap hand as far as his parents. The manipulation they put him through is repulsive and I'm rooting for him to overcome that and prove himself despite them both. He is standing behind his convictions while proving his capability to run the corporation that was handed down to him. When he calls in his closest confidante's it's game on. I'm always in awe of the man Dean Finlay; he loves his son and daughter-in-law and simply adores his grandson. His scene in Woods' office was equally heartwarming and hilarious. Rush and Blair's parts in the book are awesome; I love Blair Finlay. She's in all her glory and she's happy so her strength and confidence shine bright. Be warned: There are some major plot twists in this story that I just wasn't expecting. There is so much going on with Bethy/Jace, Tripp, and Grant that we only get glimpses of; I cannot wait to get my hands on their books. One twist in particular will leave your heart just as broken as Woods'. It's a totally crazy moment that you won't believe is actually happening. Abbi Glines wanted to torture us a bit with this installment I think. Her writing is, as always, flawless, quick, and easy to read. The simple words and plot flow seamlessly making it quite simple to devour her work in one sitting. The Rosemary crew is my favorite of her stories and she continues to draw me in completely. Woods and Della's story is beautiful because they're healing and they're facing their fears which in turn makes it so easy to stand in their corner. I can't wait to read more about them in future Rosemary books.

Book Review: Only For You
ONLY FOR YOU by Genna Rulon: “In its purest form love is self-sacrificing, eternal, selfless, enduring, truthful, forgiving and indulgent. It also feels an awful lot like a kick to the stomach when you try to fight it!”
All Everleigh Carsen wanted to do was complete her final semester at Hensley University and begin the life she carefully planned.
When a wave of violent crime seizes campus, Everleigh is persuaded to attend a school sponsored self-defense seminar by her best friend, where she meets volunteer instructor, Hunter Charles. After Everleigh’s biting sarcasm induces Hunter to eject her from class, a tempestuous relationship is born.
Everleigh is determined to forget the striking man, but fate—that fickle shrew—continuously intervenes. Unable to escape him, she declares Hunter an enemy combatant. The only complication…Hunter is resolutely pursuing vindication…by any means necessary. Verbal warfare ensues, and despite Everleigh’s ingenious efforts, in Hunter, she has finally found her equal.
Only For You is a compelling tale of friendship, desire, and redemption—brimming with intelligent characters, witty dialogue, unexpected twists, profound sorrow, unfettered hope, and love’s unassailable perseverance.
• This story is appropriate for readers 18+
• Only For You is the first book in the For You series by Genna Rulon. Each book in the series can be read as a stand alone novel.
TeriLyn's thoughts: **Received an ARC of Only for You from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Everleigh’s story in Only for You is an excellent read. Thank you so much to Genna Rulon for so sending me such a great story of friendship and love. Many of favorite books are those where love grows after becoming great friends. Only for You is no different. The story starts with our heroine, Everleigh, she attends a self defense class after a series of violent attacks have plagued her university. Everleigh is intelligent, funny, and very witty. She’s my favorite kind of leading lady because of her sassiness and her strength. The events of her past have not jaded her or made her weak. She is grateful for the friendship she has with her best friend Sam and the life that she’s building for herself. The unbreakable bond her and Sam have created is one my favorite aspects of the story. The two women are stronger together because of each other; they hold each other up and are fiercely loyal. Their acceptance and tolerance of each other is what best friends are made of. Sam’s uncensored sass is just as hilarious as Everleigh. Everleigh knows she’s at her best with Sam by her side and she knows how to take care of her when Sam is faced with an awful situation. Sam’s story is so tragic and heartbreaking it leaves you breathless. But through that tragedy Everleigh trueness, honesty, and loyalty shines. Sam made such an impression that I cannot wait for her book to be released.
Everleigh first meets Hunter Charles in self defense class when he walks in to instruct. To say she is enamored with him would be an understatement. Through her eyes, we realize that Hunter is a beautiful man and love him instantly. After some classic Everleigh sass, Hunter bests her in front of everyone. When they find they share a class together, she bests him. He comes back for more and the rest, as they say, is history. Hunter and Everleigh become fast friends, best friends. The dialogue between the two is intelligent and witty making it so much fun to spend time with them. The conversations are easy between the two of them. They get each other rather quickly and it’s easy to see them fall in love even though they can’t be together romantically. Hunter becomes her protector and, next to Sam, her most cherished confidante. The progression of their relationship is slow because of Hunter’s resistance. I love that the two of them are always completely honest to each other. They share their feelings and are both brutally honest about those feelings. They’re both brutally honest about everything. Hunter has secrets he’s not ready to share but never makes light of the fact that he needs her in his life. I could read about these two all day because they’re that much fun and they’re real and the relationship was so genuine.
The other characters in the story are great too. Griffin becomes a friend and protector and I can’t wait to read more about him. The villain in the story is interesting to read and left me guessing. Robbie, even in his cowardice, was a good addition. He helped show major growth for Sam. The dialogue in this story is intelligent and witty just like its main characters. Only for You is extremely well written and completely engrossing. Hunter and Everleigh’s love will be a great one. I hope more than anything Sam finds that in her installment. Thank you, Ms. Rulon, for the creating powerful and honest characters and their powerful and honest relationships. It was a great pleasure to read.

Book Review: Recklessly
RECKLESSLY by AJ Sand: Wes Elliott just met his match…and she might actually burn his entire world down.
Surfing and sex. This is Wes Elliott's life. And it's just the way he likes it. `
After seeing his parents stay in a loveless marriage his entire life, and burying away a heartbreak from his past, he knows where romance is best left: crappy chick movies. He'd rather lust and eventually leave, and that's exactly what the plan was when he met Lana Langston.
Except…turns out she’s only in it for the thrills, too. She's always only in it for the thrills: life in the literal fast lane on her motorcycle, and the hot nights in forbidden places without the awkward talks in the mornings after. She's Wes Elliott in way tighter jeans.
So, this should be perfect, right?
But the more time Wes spends with her, the more he wants the nights to turn into mornings. And maybe even longer. Suddenly, it isn't so perfect for him anymore. And the things he thought were buried are digging themselves up.
Now Wes is in a lot of trouble.
He’s falling in love with the one girl who might be a bigger risk than even a guy who gets barreled by the most dangerous waves in the world is willing to take on.
Can Wes and Lana figure out a way to make it work? Or is he headed for something far more reckless?
TeriLyn's thoughts: I really love this series. I adored Wes Elliott from the first two books and reading from his POV makes me fall in love with him. He's fun, laid back, carefree; the quintessential surfer boy who's finally met his match. Lana is fun, laid back and carefree too. They meet and fireworks explode. There's no other to describe this book than fun. Their relationship is so easy and downright fun. REFT is the acronym they give to describe it. Their tender moments are heartwarming, their banter is funny, and their passion is off the charts. Wes has met his match and reading of him dealing with his new found emotions was so worth it. We also see a good glimpse into the past and why these two characters are the way are. Even though they are reckless, they keep their hearts guarded. When they begin breaking down each other's walls the story starts turning and it's angsty to read. Wes shows maturity and proves his self worth. The secondary characters are back and great as usual. We get a lot of insight into the friendship that Wes has formed with Dylan and I'm so glad she was a major player here. Abel was hilarious and fiercely protective of his twin. Kai is understanding and there for Wes in a big way. My only complaint is that we didn't get to see Erika and Bryson. A great series!

Book Review: Axel
AXEL (Corps Security, #1) by Harper Sloan: Fate hasn't always been friends with Isabelle West. In fact, fate has been a downright bitch.
Isabelle has learned the hard way how hard life can be when fate isn't by your side. It can hand you dreams on silver platters, but it can snatch them right back and hand you nightmares. One thing Isabelle knew for sure fate was consistent with was taking away everything she ever loved.
For the last two years Isabelle has been slowly clearing the clouds of her past. Happiness is finally on the horizon. She has a thriving business, great friends, and her life back. All she has to do is jump over the last hurdle…her ex-husband.
When problems start causing her to fear her new life, and memories that are better left forgotten start rushing to the surface the last thing she needs is a ghost from her past to come knocking on her door.
Axel never thought he would look into the eyes of Isabelle West again, and he wasn’t sure he wanted to now. He’s carried his anger for so long he isn’t sure he can just turn it off, but when he is faced with protecting her and an unexpected desire to have her again, life gets a little more complicated.
How will Axel and Isabelle deal when all their cards are put on the table and everything they thought was true blows up in their faces?
TeriLyn's thoughts: I really liked Axel. The book and the man. Axel was an alpha male, I liked him and Izzy's back-story, I liked his story. Izzy, although I completely sympathized with her, I wanted to yell at her sometimes. She went back and forth too much. I knew under all her pain there was a strong woman; she even brought the strong woman out to play at times. I couldn't understand how so very quickly she retreated into herself and lost all that strength. The secondary characters were awesome and I'm so glad each one of the Corps Security gets a book. Greg and Dee were awesome and fun. I enjoyed this a lot. I didn't love it to give it five stars and would not re-read it thus my four star rating, but it was good love story. On to Cage!

Emma's thoughts: I received an ARC of Hell’s Knights as part of the blog tour.
OK, let me start by saying that I loved this book – I was totally hooked and couldn't put it down!
I’m gonna try and make this review as spoiler free as I possibly can as I’m not a fan of reading reviews with them in.
This is Addison and Cade’s story – Addison is an amazing character and I found her young life growing up hard to read about – that’s not because I’ve lived through similar but I have my own children and to think that there are actually children out there that are suffering similar to Addison in real life is unbelievable and so harrowing but Bella has written this brilliantly and Addison is a strong young woman who turned out a completely different person and then we have Cade – WOW! You can’t beat an extremely hot, buff, tattooed biker guy – the dude is proper HOT as in sizzling, every woman should have one and there is definitely something about gorgeous bikers – even Jackson sounds edible, I can’t wait to read his story in book 3.
So all in all an amazeballs read and I can’t wait to get my mitts on Heaven’s Sinners – Spike and Ciara’s story, we do meet them in this book but I’m gonna save details for that review.
Congrats to Bella – what a fantastic debut novel and I have loved being a part of your blog tour :)
HEAVEN’S SINNERS SYNOPSIS
Spike knows tragedy, he knows that feelings are better left hidden. He refuses to put his heart out there again, it's a pain he's not willing to ever let himself feel. He's got a mission. He's got a goal. Nothing is going to get in his way. He will seek his revenge.
But then there's Ciara, the sister of his deceased wife. She's beautiful and damned determined to throw herself into his life in hopes they can reform an old friendship, but Spike won't hear of it, and Ciara refuses to give up.
Who will win the battle of wills?

Emma's thoughts: I was given an ARC of this book as part of the blog tour.
WOW! I can honestly say that I was just as hooked by this book as I was the 1st (Hell’s Knights), I couldn't put it down, and kept thinking just one more chapter and even when I wasn't reading either of these books I was still thinking about them – I love it when your that gripped by books.
So, this is Spike and Ciara’s story who we meet in Hell’s Knights, we could tell that there was so much to Spike and that he was damaged due to the past and what had happened in his life, now let me tell you something about Spike – that guy oozes sex appeal, we have yet another super hot, buff, tattooed, pierced biker who is a proper sizzling alpha male and man would I love one of those myself, lol ;). Ciara seems like a gentle, likeable but ballsy girl who has issues/insecurities of her own and they have a history together but I’m not going to give anything else away as you should seriously read this book yourself, you will not regret it, if you like hot biker guys then you will totally love this.
I can’t wait for book 3 - Jackson’s story, Bella don’t keep us waiting too long, I can’t recommend this series enough – LOVED IT!5 HEARTS for both!!!

Book Review: Shut Out
SHUT OUT by Liz Crowe: A submissive once, a submissive forever?
A man on the run from the only life he’s ever known, Brody Vaughn is poised to accept the Black Jack Gentleman’s newly vacant goalkeeper’s position. It’s a desperate move, but one he must take to regain his emotional equilibrium. Reeling from his Mistress’s rejection and on the ragged edge of a total breakdown, he arrives in Detroit. Numb with thinly veiled grief, he walks into the club’s front office completely unaware that an encounter with true destiny awaits him.
Sophie Harrison has seen it all--as Domme, sub, and victim. Now that her complicated circumstances have landed her as legal counsel for the expansion Black Jacks team, she holds herself aloof in body and spirit. Nothing and no one gets past her fiercely guarded walls. Until the day she looks up to greet the new goalie standing in her doorway, his raw combination of vulnerability and strength making her breathless.
Two people, horribly scarred by the excesses of the BDSM lifestyle and hiding from their true selves, meet across a desk over a simple contract. All bets are off.
AL's thoughts: Shut out? More like shut up! The third book in the Blackjack Gentlemen’s series does not disappoint. Ms. Crowe brings back a character from the Stewart Realty series, Sophie Harrison, and has placed her front and center, and straight in the path of sexy, younger Brody Vaughn, the teams new hot shot goalie. Brody shares deep, dark secrets that Sophie recognizes from her own past. When Brody encounters Sophie at her second career as a dominatrix-for-hire, the sparks fly. Sophie helps Brody deal with his demons, and the two fall in love. But Brody’s first love is the game; and he plays all in. After a head injury that leaves him with memory loss, Sophie is forced to deal with life on her own, without the love of her life.
Liz Crowe once again puts her hand in the reader’s chest, and rips out the heart. My heart pounded from the minute I started reading this book, and was still pounding well after I had finished it.
