long-awaited second book in the Venery series.
“I swear. Give me one more chance, and I will make the most of it.”
Ex-escort Javier Landes is asking for his third chance at

what starts as casual deepens into a passionate relationship—everything Jav has ever
wanted, and everything he fears losing.
Stef’s business card reads Curator & Sailor. His creativity and insightful nature have made him into a talented therapist, the

Geronimo "Geno" Caan is Stef's most challenging case.
To cope with his ordeal, he's allowed an alter-ego called Mos to make decisions, and now
lives a double life within a web of lies. Under Stef’s navigation, Geno uses art to express
what Mos forbids to be spoken aloud. But as Geno’s attachment to Stef gradually extends
to Jav, the boundaries between professional and personal begin to blur.
Over the course of a year, Jav, Stef and Geno form an
unexpected and unconventional triangle, revealing how men make love in times of war
and how love is a great wisdom made up of small understandings. A Charm of Finches is an epic tale of survival and secrets guaranteed to make you think and feel and

About the AuthorCD Reiss is a New York Times bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn't pick up she's at the well hauling buckets.
Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master's degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels.
She's frequently referred to as the Shakespeare of Smut which is flattering but hasn't ever gotten her out of chopping that cord of wood.

4 "Wherever the road takes me." Stars
I've immensely enjoyed my time spent in Gilt Edge, Montana with Cahill family in this second installment Outlaw's Honor. An interesting group of siblings who find themselves in spots of trouble thanks to their love interests. B.J. Daniels style of story telling in this contemporary western family drama series is exciting and interesting. This hails as the second book of the series and stars Darby Cahill and love interest Mariah.
Darby and Mariah come from two completely different backgrounds. What I love about Daniels style also is her inclusion of interesting history within her stories. Mariah's background comes as one such bright spot and how she ends up in Gilt Edge faced by Darby is alluring and dangerous. Darby who's been restless with life up until this point finds major points of interest with Mariah. He's struck by the sight of her and begins a dangerous game of cat and mouse. Both of them up to the challenge leads to a companionship of sharing and trust. I enjoyed watching them play their story out in this small western town. Their story was much different than that of Lillie and Trask's in book one but the same as far as compassion and love. The steam factor in these is very light but perfect for the structure of the story. And just like book one, Renegade's Pride, constructed into the story are the tales of secondary characters as well. There's a lot players in Gilt Edge and we follow along with them as the centralized love story plays out. It's an immersive kind of reading I truly enjoy especially in a series.
For someone who hasn't delved to far into contemporary western romances the Cahill Ranch series has drawn me in fully. I'm invested in the story telling of B.J. Daniels and the secondary stories that popped up here in Outlaw's Honor. I want to know the story of every Cahill sibling and see how their lives play out so needless to say I'm looking forward to the rest of the series very much. A huge bonus addition to my romance reading repertoire. Reading more stories that are family drama driven in small towns is on my to-do list. Hoping the Cahill Ranch series will lead me to many other new-to-me series from this author and others.

Book Review: Shacking Up
Shacking Upby Helena Hunting (Goodreads Author) 4.35 · Rating Details · 647 Ratings · 340 ReviewsRuby Scott is months behind on rent and can’t seem to land a steady job. She has one chance to turn things around with a big audition. But instead of getting her big break, she gets sick as a dog and completely bombs it in the most humiliating fashion. All thanks to a mysterious, gorgeous guy who kissed—and then coughed on—her at a party the night before.
Luckily, her best friend might have found the perfect opportunity; a job staying at the lavish penthouse apartment of hotel magnate Bancroft Mills while he’s out of town, taking care of his exotic pets. But when the newly-evicted Ruby arrives to meet her new employer, it turns out Bane is the same guy who got her sick.
Seeing his role in Ruby’s dilemma, Bane offers her a permanent job as his live-in pet sitter until she can get back on her feet. Filled with hilariously awkward encounters and enough sexual tension to heat a New York City block, Shacking Up, from NYT and USA Today bestselling author Helena Hunting, is sure to keep you laughing and swooning all night long.

4 "Of course you didn't listen." Stars
This story is a totally fun contemporary romance from Helena Hunting. It's sexy, full of banter, and light with much comedic interludes. What you see is what you get from both main characters as they challenge and compliment each other from beginning to end. Told from alternating first person points of view coupled with Hunting's signature witty and sassy writing, Bancroft and Ruby energize the pages of Shacking Up.
Hunting's female lead has a mind and heart all her own. Not phased by trends or meeting familial expectations, Ruby lives in the moment as a starving Broadway actress. She's a lovable character with her zany quips and quirks. Loyal and honest to her best friend she literally runs into Bancroft at an engagement party. As her life situation becomes more dire Bancroft becomes somewhat of an unexpected white knight.
"His now lopsided grin is making my panties reevaluate their importance in my life."
Bancroft was a refreshing male lead. Rich but rugged I keep thinking is best to describe him. He's not pretentious and spent his twenties doing actually what he wanted rather than follow in immediate family footsteps. He shares that in common with Ruby which is part of the attraction even though the clash when it comes to rules and being meticulous. The clash is where the magic happens. A flourishing friendship leads to more between them both.
Shacking Up was truly a fast and fun ride. I enjoyed reading these two characters. I enjoyed Ruby's wit and Bancroft's reasoning to her sass. The two together had great chemistry and made the book easy to get lost in. Helena Hunting's writing allows to immerse yourself in their relationship easily. A romantically fun read to get lost in for a while. I think an contemporary romantic comedy readers will enjoy this story.

Read 2 times. Last read May 24, 2017.
**Ruckus generously provided in exchange for an honest review.**
5 "Look at the stars." Stars
L.J. Shen writes rotten-to-the-core male leads impeccably. She pairs them perfectly with fiesty, strong females. In Ruckus she takes a second chance a romance theme couples with a love/hate relationship and weaves it through pages of palpable passion and heated banter to execute an entertaining, intriguing, and un-put-downable book with a taboo edge. This hails as book 2 of the contemporary and erotic Sinners of Saint series. While the leading characters are new I'd highly recommend not missing out on book one of the series, Vicious. Both of these leads have deep history rooted in the first story.
"My petals falling one by one."
As previously stated, we meet Rosie in book one. Hosts of issues swarm Rosie's life; her health, her parents, her sister, her love interests. She's a live wire ready to tripped at any moment if something doesn't give. Yet she's confident and pure of heart. She understands her situation on a base level and wants the best for everyone - always giving and never taking. I loved her as a female lead because she represents themes of living for the moment and no regrets wrapped up in strength and the yearning for freedom. She's a deep, well-developed character who has a lot to offer readers for exploration. When freedom walks back into her life in the shape of a tall, impossibly attractive, extremely arrogant, and brutally honest Hothole she falls down a rabbit hole she can't escape.
"I was still a sinner...and I was still the wolf her grandmamma warned her about."
Dean "Ruckus" Cole - said tall, impossibly attractive, extremely arrogant, and brutally honest Hothole. Dean's the fun-loving, always smiling, playboy of the group. No one expects him to be a deep-thinking, all-feeling man of his word. He plays up to the stigma cast upon him and hides from truths he'd rather not face. This juxtaposition makes him a riddle you're compelled to solve using whatever tools you need. Dean's story was jarring in the sense that it's unexpected. His personality that you see doesn't quite match up to the storm brewing within his life. Aside from the brilliant romance between he and Rosie, his lineal story running parallel to the main focus of them was so intriguing and artfully structured it ended up being one of my favorite aspects of the entire book.
"But you're the liveliest place I've ever been to."
Full of surprises, some seriously heated passion, and two characters you'll feel drawn to immediately describes Ruckus. Told from alternating first person points of view the journey you take with Dean and Rosie is fast and relentless and full of love and hope even when it's hidden in the dark trust me it's glowing bright. I read this book in two sittings, one morning and one evening and I've not stopped thinking about them since. With recurring characters making appearances in their story enhancing the depth of connection you feel for this group of crazy people you become enamored further with L.J. Shen's brilliantly twisted story telling and her gift of writing.
L.J. Shen resides in sunny California with her husband, son, chubby cat and wild, wild dreams. Her passion is to write badass stories, sushi, UFC and her awesome family and friends (not in this order, though. Obviously, sushi comes before writing. Oh, and also the family part.)
She spend the first half of her twenties traveling the world and is now paying all the fun with extra shifts in front of her MacBook. Feel free to contact her on her Facebook page. She loves to hear from her readers.

Crazy woman living in an undisclosed location in Alaska (where the need for a creative mind is a necessity!), I have been writing since ... forever? Yeah, that sounds about right. I have been told that I remind people of Lucille Ball - I also see shades of Jennifer Saunders, and Denis Leary. So basically, I laugh a lot, I'm clumsy a lot, and I say the F-word A LOT.
I like dogs more than I like most people, and I don't trust anyone who doesn't drink. No, I do not live in an igloo, and no, the sun does not set for six months out of the year, there's your Alaska lesson for the day. Book Review: Love Me In The Dark
Love Me in the Darkby Mia Asher (Goodreads Author) 4.58 · Rating Details · 130 Ratings · 116 ReviewsTwo strangers in Paris ...
One passionate, earth-shattering kiss.
He was the artist upstairs
with the tantalizing smile and laughing eyes.
He was the devil inviting me to sin,
seducing me to dance in the bright moonlight.
He was desire and need.
When he touched me, my body sang.
My soul came alive.
But I belonged to another man,
and he didn't want to let me go.
**Love Me in the Dark generously provided in exchange for an honest review.**
This is my first ever book by Mia Asher and I've finally found out what I've been missing after all this time. Precise, engaging, and purely magnetic prose coupled with an intriguing and sinfully delicious structured plot make up the pages of this standalone story, Love Me in the Dark.
Asher's writing sweeps you off your feet only to land you in the most romantic city on the planet. The bulk of this sweet and wicked romance story takes place in Paris. You'll feel every emotion Asher intends: pride, maturation, glee, lusty eroticism, and angst (my GOOOOSH so much angst). I know this book would knock on my on personal comfort zone door and it did without remorse. It knocked and barrelled right through into my reading heart.
"I had a masochist heart."
Valentina Fitzpatrick lives an unfulfilled life. Questioning how she got to her current place, the why's, where's, and what I am doings race through her mind relentlessly. A once happily married woman finds herself in Paris awaiting her husband to court her once more. In this waiting period Valentina blooms. She remembers parts of herself long forgotten in her marriage. Her will and strength get a little sturdier as she navigates the waters of who she is and who she really wants to be. Valentina is the most interesting case study. With so much love to give and little received she makes choices that will forever change her life. Choices that will gut you as a reader, make you question her, and yet choices that although provide the catalyst for the angst are ones that make you think deeply about the true meaning of strength and love.
"What are you really afraid of, Valentina?"
When asked this question by a perfectly sculpted and tempting stranger, Valentina is forced to look really deep inside herself and decide her own fate for once. She's a female lead I normally shy from in my reading or so I thought. I'm fascinated by women and the choices they make on pretty much a daily basis both in look life and out. Valentina is one such woman who rises from the ashes of her own fire. She stumbles, falls, gets kicked down but this woman has grit. She has power she's coming to realize and embody. And she's fun, witty, and full of love. Peeking out around her nefarious husband's shadow has her seeing a light she forgot existed.
"A man's face shouldn't be that sinful."
Oh Sebastien. This enigmatic character will charm you from beginning to end. Chased by his own particular demons, Sebastien is the good time boy. The love he tries to repress shines outward like a beacon you can't deny. Imagine your most favorite qualities in book boyfriends and I guarantee you'll find them in this stunning man. An artist, an open soul, a romantic, and a wickedly good time Sebastien devastates readers. He's the man you can't quit, won't stop, need to have. He's the man you want to know everything about. Hiding beneath his shiny veneer are troubles shrouded in a thick coat of strength. This man lives yet is missing something. Sebastien is the puzzle with the missing piece you'll search forever to complete.
"See, I told you."
Love Me in the Dark gives second chances at life and love in a uniquely heart pounding and wicked way. It's a romance you never expected full of devious paths of pleasure and pain. It's a beautifully contrasted story showcasing the light and dark sides of life. An exploration of self and growth paralleled with the romanticism of being just simply YOU with the person who wants you exactly as you come, no filter, no disguise. This book intrigues you, delights you, rips your heart apart and glues it back together. It's a glorious look at the power of true love and why we should all believe in it. Mia Asher's thoughtful and eloquent writing easily ebbs and flows through the turmoil and pain with burst of pleasure, fun, and eroticism. It's a book that you'll fight sleep to get through entranced in the beauty of this author's magnificent story telling. Enjoy. And BRAVO Mia Asher, you made a believer out of me.

This contemporary romance story from S.M. West was sweet and easy. S.M. West delightfully pens a lovely romance where the hero will make you swoon. Told from the alternating first person points of view of the main characters the story takes readers on an angsty and romantic journey to finding love and acceptance.
The main characters find each other at a time in their lives when they weren't expecting each other at all. Upon first sight something just clicked for Sam and Olivia. Sam a renowned celebrity chef catches sight of divorcee/mother Olivia in his restaurant one evening and actively pursues her much to her chagrin. Their banter and the thrill of the chase was fun. It was entertaining to see Olivia let go and joke. Her friends made me laugh. At times, the push/pull between the two got a little too angsty for me. I never felt like Olivia truly let go of her issues. One of which was her being older and that persistent problem for her wore on me a bit. Sam was a constant bright spot, he pulled the insecurities out of her carefully and patiently.
Overall, Made to Love is a sassy, fun, light romantic story between a seemingly unlikely pair who fell fast for each other's friendship and companionship. It's a story with a good chase and real characters.
