Dining Room Makeover-Part One
If you've been following along with me-you know that I have plans to make over three rooms in our home this year. I know-it's a HUGE goal I've set for hubby and I, especially during our busiest time of the year, but...I think we can do it. In fact-I KNOW we can.

Thrifty Tuesday!
Remember all that rain I was talking about this weekend? If not, let me just say I was a bit...cranky, because I wasn't able to finish some of my outdoor projects. Well, things got worse on Sunday night. Much...much...much... WORSE!

Spring Cleaning-OUTSIDE!
Whew! I thought getting the inside of the house in order was hard-but it was nowhere near as hard as the outside has been this last week! After hours of raking, picking up sticks, clearing brush and gaining a few blisters, hubby and I finally finished last night!

Pallets Signs for a little boy's room!
After I made the first set of nursery room signs, my niece, Amanda, commissioned me to make another set-this time for a boy!
I began by 'commissioning' hubby to do the technical work. (A bag of dark chocolate M&M's works every time!)
Hubby's List of Materials:
2 pallets- (the signs are 17"x24"-requiring 5 slats each)
wood screws-(hubby uses black drywall screws)

Sinfully Delicious Carrot Cake!
Yesterday I discussed the difficulties I've had with my family eating raw broccoli. Thankfully, my friend and co-worker, Brenda, helped me find a way to get past that, with her tangy/sweet Broccoli Salad! Granted, it's probably not the 'healthiest' way to get the kiddo's to eat that veggie, but you could make a low calorie version, just by using a light mayo, and sugar substitute.

Broccoli Salad with Almonds and Raisins!
Raw broccoli has never been one of our family favorites. Inevitably, any time I set a platter of fresh vegetables out for a family get together, those little green monsters would never get eaten.
I could roast them, fry them up in stir-fry, or put them in a casserole, and all was good. But raw? No- never raw!

The sun has been shining so brightly here-that hubby's gnome had to put his sunglasses on! (Hubby did this when I was out yesterday, and thought it was hilarious!)
Our house is even starting to look a bit brighter! All the snowmen and winter decor has been put away for another year!
