Sensational Sunday Love Links!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend!  Before I get to my favorite links of the week-I just wanted to update everyone on Mr. Bentley.  This morning found him a bit 'groggy', and with no appetite.  My heart broke into a million pieces when I was forced to give him his medicine by hand, instead of his food.  The good news is-once the medicine got into his system (and he took a long nap) he

Spring came in like a ROARING lion!

Things have been pretty hectic around our household these last two days!  Thursday found me trying to get caught up on my writing most of the day-with a few breaks where I tried to organize our two bathrooms.

Speaking of that bathroom project.  Well, it quickly became a 'bit' more than just clearing out the clutter.  (Hubby says he isn't surprised- since all my 'small' projects generally become

Clearing out and organizing bathroom Clutter!

I don't mean to complain about the weather, but......seriously, mother nature needs to back off!!!!!

This is what hubby and I and woke up to this morning! (Along with the rest of the folks in our neck of the woods!)  Now, don't get me wrong.  In the beginning of winter, these frosty branches were beautiful.

Back in December, and yes, even February, we made due with our oven, and let

Southern Fried Chicken

There is nothing that puts a smile on hubby's face like fried chicken.  Okay, maybe dark chocolate, Nordeast beer, fast cars.....but I promise, fried chicken falls into his TOP 10 category!

I am the kinda gal that likes to experiment, even if it is with a tried and true recipe.  So, tonight I took my 'usual' fried chicken recipe and SPICED it up a bit.

Here is what you'll need:

Monday Money Saving Tips

Shortly after hubby and I were married, I took a leave my from my job,
so I could put 100% of my time into writing.  Since we were going to have
to live on a 'smaller' budget, we were trying to come up with even more ways to
save money.  One day we were flipping through TV channels, and we came
upon the TV show Extreme Couponing.  Both of us were a bit

Sensational Sunday Love Links!

I have just a teensy bit of Irish in me, so my first link is in celebration of St. Patrick's Day tomorrow!

But, as far as I'm concerned (I love me a little bit of  Rum), this Minty Lime Refresher, can be drank any day of the year!

If you are a country girl (or boy), I highly recommend this link to see just how 'country' you really are! ( I love

When all else fails-Repurpose!

Have you ever been given something, and you just didn't know what to do with it?

I received this as a birthday gift from my daughter, Mel, several years ago.

Now, don't get me wrong.  I absolutely loved it then-and do now.  It's unique.  I mean-who thinks of these things?  Making something out of old vases and china-how creative!  But, a garden decoration?  Out of glass?  Hmmm......  I

DIY Nursery Room Pallet Signs

I finally finished the signs I promised to make  for my niece, Amanda!!!

I am pretty happy with the way they turned out!

Here is what I did:

Hubby brought home two pallets (You will need one for this project-but I'm making two sets!)

Since Hubby doesn't allow me near a saw (I don't blame him)-he did all the cutting!

Here is what the backside looks like-after the pieces

Easy Chicken Cordon Bleu

I can remember a time that I thought Chicken Cordon Bleu, was something you only ate at an expensive restaurant, on a special occasion.  The thought of making it homemade, never even crossed my mind!! How could I?  I mean-it had to be very complicated-right?  And who wants complicated?

Well, thankfully I wised up over the years!  Cooking is about trial and error.  It's learning to overcome your

Monday's Money Saving Tips!

Here are this weeks Money Saving Tips!

***Hubby and I received a Shark
Steam Mop for a wedding present over three years ago. I'm a bit old
fashioned, so, I still like to clean my floors the 'old fashioned' way. (On my
hands and knees).  But, once in a while, when company is coming and time
is short, it's nice to have back-up.  Unfortunately, somehow I
